Confusion seems to be the name of the game at the Pentagon and the White House. Who's paying attention here? Were it not for the press, this "confusion" would no doubt have continued. The inmates are clearly running the asylum known as the Pentagon. Hard to believe that the first person drafting the letters demanding repayment from wounded soldiers would not have immediately questioned the whole basis for such an outrage and put a stop to this nonsense.

Once they're out of the service, wounded physically or mentally and no longer in spiffy uniforms suitable for Bush photo ops, veterans are treated like broken toys stuffed into a closet by the bratty child who broke them.

CBS has reported that the Bush regime has been covering up an epidemic of suicides among veterans. There were over 6,000 suicides in 2005. That's more than the total US combat fatalities for the entire Iraq misadventure. The highest rates are among veterans aged 20 to 40 who served during the "war on terror."
