He has ridden on his 9/11 celebrity and gotten pretty cocky with the polling percentages. However, his campaign is not generating the buzz that Paul and Huckabee are. Though his numbers seem to hold nationally he is losing ground in many states.
His strategy is to focus on the big states thinking he doesn't need Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina. This could prove to be quite a mistake. Contests are often won based upon momentum and if he continues to fall in those states to the point where he really tanks in the primaries it will most certainly affect California and Florida where he is already losing ground.

Call me nuts but from the looks of it I think the Republican nomination will come down to a race between Paul and Huckabee.

Rudy camp ramps up

Get used to Ron Paul supporters Rudy. They are everywhere in NH.

Rudy camp ramps up

Giuliani's alleged popularity is a lazy media and crooked pollster-driven mirage.

We're really supposed to believe that this guy is the frontrunner? He draws crowds in the dozens wherever he goes; Ron Paul draws crowds in the high hundreds or thousands. He has fewer than 100 meetup.com members; Ron Paul has 70,000. His "fundraising schedule" consists of small, private events where $2,300 donors in the legal, financial, and military-industrial complex sectors bomb him with pay-for-play special interest cash, which is simply legalized bribery; Ron Paul's campaign gets much smaller donations from many more people. The reason is that all the other top-tiers are ho-hum same old thing - Neocons, statists who want global empire and less freedom and liberty for the individual, tax and spenders, flip-floppers. Who can get excited about that? I'm surprised even two dozen showed for Rudolph. Maybe he was giving away free hamburgers. Whereas, Ron Paul is potentially another George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. We believe he will restore government the way it was meant to be - of, by, and for the people. I swear my rubber TV brick is rubbing smooth from every time I see rudy talking to a crowd of 30 or so people in a coffee house (half of which are paid staffers) while Ron Paul is speaking to hundreds or thousands in the same town, with no coverage whatsoever.

Here's a clue to all you Journalism School wonders: large crowds indicate large grassroots support! Not only that, those are the type of people that are motivated to go and VOTE- not the geriatric Bush supporters that Pollsters like Frank Luntz are so fond of calling and aasking for an 'unbiased opinion'. The paradigm has shifted, and technology and voter attitudes have far outstripped the pace at which the 'old media' is able to cover it. Get on the bus in the 21st century, abandon those outmoded polls that have failed you in the last twoPresidential Elections and COVER THE CANDIDATES< THIER MESSAGE AND THEIR SUPPORTERS! People could care less who the talking heads at the roundtable think is moving up or down 3 points- they want to hire a man for the job as President- not elect the next 'American Political Idol'! WHen you interview a person for a job, you don't go around the office and ask everybody what they think of the guy (especially if you won't allow them to hear where he stands on anything!). You ask pointed, insightful questions about what his record is, what he wants to do and how he will do it. And asking a Presidential Candidate where he stands on Abortion, Gay Marriage and other issues that the President has little influence on is like asking a mayoral candidate how he feels about pollution in China. I'm sure he'll give you an opinion, but he has no power to influence that subject at all! Stick to the facts. Cover the issues. Leave the beauty contest to American Idol, Miss America and, well the Political Team at FOX News. We'll all be better off for it.

Rudy camp ramps up

Even out here in fly-over land, the numbers of Ron Paul supporters that show up at a Guiliani event outnumber the Guiliani supporters. And only now the press is noticing?

It would be a front-page above-the-fold 72 point headline if it were the other way 'round.

Rudy camp ramps up

What's with this "almost seem to match" nonsense?
Have you ever seen a Ron Paul rally?

Rudy camp ramps up

Don Jen,

He meant that Ron Paul had an equal number of supporters at RUDY'S fundraiser. Which makes it even more hilarious.

Go Ron!

Rudy camp ramps up

Rudy can't distinguish himself from Hillary, why should we prefer the Republican version of a Democrat?

Rudy camp ramps up

Ron Paul gets far more people than the Ghoul in NH and everywhere. You haven't been swayed by the big media machine yet. I think the headline of this story should have been "Giuliani crowds disappoint", but that is my opinion. I have several questions for you though. Why is the main stream media really so scared of Ron Paul? Is it because he attracts so many people from various backgrounds? Is it because he will not take donations from big corporations, and only from Individuals? Is it because he does not flip-flop on the issues and stands firm with the Constitution? Is it because he wants to go to a limited federal government, tax reductions, and get rid of unnecessary government waste and spending? I am sad to see what our Country has become, it hurts down to the core of my soul. I am ex-military, and I know we do not have to nuke any countries as one person mentioned earlier in his comment in order to deal with terrorists, that statement alone showed some ignorance to say the least, but then again he was the ONLY Giuliani supporter on this comment section. I would like to see some positive reporting and not so much trash on all the candidates. I would love to see some reporting on RON PAUL period, do you think MSNBC has the strength to stand up and actually report anything on him that doesn't start with Longshot, or underdog as most of the main stream media does? If not I understand, you Mr. Montarano can only do as you are told by the company that pays your paycheck, and if that is the case true journalism is something of the past, and I will rest my case. I will take this opportunity to thank MSNBC for any coverage that is given to the only candidate that has the heart of America is behind, and that would be RON PAUL. Oh you can email me with your answers if you like.

Rudy camp ramps up

There aren't even Giuliani supporters showing up on the internet...

Rudy camp ramps up

We had a Ron Paul rally in Clearwater FL and had over 500 people and Ron Paul wasn't even there!

Rudy camp ramps up

Several observations:
I was at the Clearwater, Fla. rally for Ron Paul on Nov 17th; about 500 people there. I haven't met anyone who supports Giuliani. A local TV show in Tampa, Fla. this morning had some CNN analyst John(?) Again, I haven't met a single Giuliani supporter. There are 5 people in my apartment complex with Ron Paul bumper stickers . . . not a single one for any other candidate. I went to a Ron Paul rally in Pittsburgh, Pa a few months back and the hotel had to keep sliding the partitions
to fit the crowd in. Easily over a 1000 people attended. This goes on all over the country but means nothing to the MSM folks. It doesn't matter.

Voters are just starting to study their options and they will be using the internet as they never used it before. They will observe the hundreds of Ron Paul videos and thousands of typed articles on Ron Paul.

The voters will have to weigh how many more billions
to send over seas to fullfill Rudi's, McCain's, Romney's, Thompson's, and Huckabee's NEOCON dream.
It will dawn on the voter, money spent on this nightmare could have been used for bridges, sewers,
water, schools, and highways. He will protect the Freedom of the Internet. He will protect the value of your own paychecks with sound money policy. He will protect your family by strengthening our national defenses instead of weakening them by sending our military, national guard and reservists over seas. He will protect your own (grand)children by not sending them into needless aggressive wars. And on and on the arguments could go.

You are supposedly "in the know" but the reverse seems true; you are clueless as to the major shift that is happening within the electorate. Either that or you are writing to try to please a corporate master for a dishonest paycheck. Either way, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

You finally get a candidate that will thoughtfully and honestly answer your questions without trying to sidestep them with hollow rhetoric or blatantly misleading sound bites and you try to ignore, marginalize, or even smear him. Do you liked being used and lied to by "the front runners"? You remind me of a beaten girlfriend who keeps going back for more abuse when the best man you could ever hope for is courting you with conviction for a better future.

Should America become a dictatorial police state, guess what kind of position you will be in as a journalist? You will either be a traitor to your country by cooperating with the Constitutional abuses, you will be imprisoned, or you will be dead. Read some history and wake up to the facts. Your fates will not be positive.

You appear to be blind, deaf and dumb to your own best interests. It is a shame to behold. Please, as individuals, take stock of yourselves and then do what is right. Tell the truth as it is, not as your boss tells you it should be. A clear conscience is more valuable than blood money - especially when that fiat money is fast becoming worthless anyway.

Ron Paul is not perfect but is the best this country has to offer at this time. And that's the truth.

Respectfully,

J. Duh! The ONLY candidate with LOTS of REAL UNPAID PEOPLE at EVERY event is Ron Paul. Gee, wonder why? I'm looking at the MNSBC political calendar feature on this page and I see NO MENTION of Ron Paul? But I see tons of mentions of other candidates. What's the story there? No mention of Paul's events on Nov. 26 or 27 in South Carolina. By the way, here's a hot story: the founder of the Obama organization in Los Angeles, Marc Whittaker, just publicly switched his support to Ron Paul at www.obamala.org. Here's his mass e-mail to 2,500 Obama supporters in L.A.: My name is Marc Whittemore. I started the original grassroots group ObamaLA and carried it until it was 2,500 people strong. Having done substancially more homework now I am inclined to switch my vote.

Make no mistake about it -- I think Obama would make an AWESOME President -- far better than any other stale "part of the problem" Democrat running. However. In case you have not noticed America is picking up "flush momentum" and going down the tubes FAST. We no longer have time for rehersals or inexperience. We MUST get it right and get it right this time. We don't even have the luxury of voting along party lines if we are to get it right.

And so. Even more surprising is that for the first time in my 32 years of voting I will be voting for a Republican president. And that Republican is Ron Paul. Listen people. And take the time to listen CLOSELY to Ron Paul -- because, like the last, we can ill afford one more drastic idiot mistake in the White House. Lives depend on making the right choice -- indeed our entire nation depends on the right choice this time.

Sincerely,
Marc Whittemore
Los Angeles, CA

Rudy camp ramps up

Ron Paul supporters are so inspired, so passionate, and growing in number every day. I understand that not everyone will resonate with Ron Paul's stands, but those that do are thrilled to the bone to have someone of honesty and integrity to be FOR instead of having to choose the lesser of the evils. An actual candidate who says what he believes! And the more that people read about him, hear about him from friends and family members, the more people see that, indeed, there is hope for this country, for individual liberties, for hard earned dollars. Rudy=ripoff; Ron=restore the Constitution!!

Rudy camp ramps up

T Heins , St. Louis . Face it some big time republicans have been toying the legal system and protecting criminal behavior from within its highest ranks. It will be from within the GOP's own party is how the GOP will be saved. Even if they steal another election (caging, phone jamming, redistricting, etc) Ron Paul supporters show that many common republicans do not want the GOP to be the torture party. Their main beef is that he failed to supply them with working radios on 9/11, resulting in the needless deaths of their brothers who didn't receive the command to vacate the World Trade Center buildings. And this guy thinks he's a national hero for his leadership on that day? Some of the firefighters are considering starting a political action committee (PAC) with the sole intention of exposing the real Giuliani.

RON PAUL 2008!

Rudy camp ramps up

Polls are rigged. How else can you explain that about 70% of the American people are against the war (a much higher number among Democrats) and somehow the biggest warhawks in either party, Hilary and Giuliani respectively are far-and-away the frontrunners? I call BS on the polls. Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich should be winning in landslides for their respective parties' nominations.

Rudy camp ramps up

I will probably never get back here to see an answer, but how does anyone know how many other candidate's backers show up at another's rally?
