It does no good, anyway; two madmen still have nearly absolute rule over this country, and are working hard to get the absolute rule tat will make tem even mroe dangerousl Until the nation realizes it's elected (sort of) two lunatics, and makes a serious effort to stand up tho them, things won't get better. Madmen rule the country and trash the rest of the world right now; their madness makes them pitiable, but their dangerousness makes them fearsome. I just plan to wait and see when---or if---the sheep realize they have a couple of lunatics at their helm. I've decided to engage in the crazy talk no further; it does no good to the country as long as the insane are in charge, and thinking and talking about this hoepless situation just makes me as crazy as they are. I'll read your comments with interest, but I doubt I'll do any more ranting and raving---that's letting myself become as crazy as Bush and Cheney are. People believe what they want to believe, and no matter how often they are told the grass is green and the sky is blue there will always be those who revel in saying they're not. Right now the world IS insane. It seems for almost a century there have been those who harken back to a constitution and our founding principles. It seems that with every passing generation, these people grow fewer, while the ignorant masses grow exponentially. I don't fret it. The jerry's of the world can only cheerlead for so long until they realize they've been had. That will be a day of reckoning. But trying to awaken an ignorant mass on a message board is a bit like trying to hold a candle in the rain to stop a war. You can't change people whose identities and personal value are wrapped up in the belief of an illusion. Once they concede the illusion they admit their life has been meaningless. The amount of cognitive dissonance (that the jerry's endure) is enough to make a sane person crack or have an aneurysm just hearing some of the nonsense passed off as truth these days.
Good luck though. Things will either get a whole lot better or a whole lot worse.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

J. He was part of a failed campaign in the national election that year as Kerry's running mate. Even Cheney (of all people) cleaned his clock in the VP debate!
Barrack Obama has no experience whatsoever that would qualify him to be President. He stumbles over his own words at the debates, trips himself up, and then attacks Hillary to cover it all up. In fact, that's the only thing he does well; use 1990's NEO-CON rhetoric to attack the Clintons. If you want Obama as your candidate, you might as well vote for a republiCANT because he uses THEIR material about Hillary. Why vote for an imitation when you can vote for the real thing?
First Ladies aren't "divisive." Senatorial Candidates who get better than 65% of the votes in their district aren't divisive. She's done that TWICE!
Ask Edwards why he took a $50,000.00 fee to do a speech on "poverty," and why he needs $400.00 haircuts before he goes out to speak about "two Americas." (We know which America HE lives in, don't we?)
Ask Barrack Obama why he's using Republican rhetoric about the Clinton's at these debates. Ask him why he is trying to divide up the base of Democratic voters in this country, by bickering like an old lady at the debates, and throwing temper tantrums on stage like a child. (.....and on national TV no less!)
I don't see how these two clowns would unite the country.
Frankly, you and I both know they wouldn't.
Both will lose the general election, if either were to get the nomination. It's as simple as that
But, THANK YOU Sierra, for exposing yourself as the NEO-CON you truly are.
The Democratic Party doesn't need a candidate such as Edwards or Obama, who will lose and hand the Presidency back to The G.O.P. (as Edwards already did in 2004)
We need one who will WIN...and that candidate is Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton!
First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Dot from ILL ,.... i would not vote for Hillary Clinton, she's a radical and a untrustworthy for this country and what makes everyone thinks she's a better choice for the democratic party huh ?????? don't trust her for one bit !!!!

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

"Van, has decided to post POLL AVERAGES and not current polls. Every poll I see in Iowa has Obama LEADING by at least 4 percentages points."

Every poll you see?

Look above to see how badly she's ahead, everywhere. We can not afford the luxury of because we don't like Hilary not vote for her. The first step is to take back the white house and Clinton is the best chance that we have. Obama can be her replacement in the event she is not what we expect from her; he will be in a better position for the 2012.
Liking her or not, our goal is to take back the WH.
A good politician will use "double Talk" so as to distract the adversary. I have over 30 years experience in the field and double talk works. However the media is a business and they need to make money and they need to hit on the Hilary double talk because they need to keep the emotions rolling.
As an strategist's opinion, Hilary is on the right track in using double talk; a gambler does not show his/her cards but only those that they believe that can distract others on the table. I hope that I am not wrong but if I know Hilary's game, she is doing the right thing. Remember is not what she is saying but what she will do after the fact.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Sierra:

I have noticed that Richardson is moving up somewhat, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I think he's a good alternative, and definitely has the experience...but I also thinks he panders on the Iraq issue. That's one of the reasons I prefer Biden - he doesn't just say "this is my plan" but instead puts together a resolution outlining his plan, and brings it forth in the Senate. Can't really pander when your idea is a matter of public record.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

J. Merle Stanley, your last comment was ridiculous for many reasons. For starters, your attack on Edwards' is wrong because NO ONE, and I repeat NO ONE votes for the V.P. pick. It is an overhyped part of a presidential campain and is meaningless. Secondly, Edwards' won the V.P. debate. The reason they lost was because Kerry refused to stand up for himself and because northern Dems cannot win southern states.

That's why John Edwards' would make the best candidate. Tell me J., where were the last three Dem presidents from?

As far as the $400 haircut or the speaking fees, or the whatever else, they are irrelevant. On the one had you accuse Obama of using Rep. talking points from the 90's, but you're using Rep. talking points to attack Edwards and Obama. If you believe that a person being rich automatically excludes them from wanting to eliminate poverty, then you are nothing more than a Rep. in Dem clothing yourself. By the way, in case you didn't know, Hillary is loaded.

The only thing that is relevant is the type of candidate and president each would make.

J. There is a lot of talk about Bill Clinton and his action with Monica. ID, I don't what gender you are. What Bill Clinton did was to show that he was a man in flesh and bones. Some looks at Bill Clinton for what ever he did when the opportunity came. Only a right wing will accuse Bill for what he did. Let look as his records of accomplishment during his administration; over 22 million jobs created, no deficit and the economy was on the right track further more people were more happy. compare this (BUS) administration with Bill Clinton. No way my friend.
Now you have an economy that is only for the big corporations and the rich investors in Wall Street. Because the unnecessary war and the killing in Iraq the hard working American can not afford the day-today necessities. I consider Bill Clinton scape a demonstration of what is a real Human being. so I think that there is a lot of hypocrisy. (Why should I vote for either....why shouldn't I just skip the "middle men" and vote for a republiCANT?)
Edwards was part of team that LOST in '04.'
Hillary is part of the team that WINS elections.
Do the math, chief.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Expect Hillary to place THIRD in Iowa.

When Obama first appeared on the stage and announced he was running for President, many people assumed HE was the novelty act. Many months later, it is quickly being realized that Hillary Clinton is a partisan war-monger, more Republican on foreign policy than Democrat, and offers nothing to change America, aside from a new name on the Oval Office desk. All of a sudden, it's starting to look more and more like Hillary is the NOVELTY act, an ex-President's wife who can't make it on her own, offering nothing NEW for America, not the "strong woman" image her campaign tried to puff.

It's time for REAL change. It's time for a NEW and BETTER America.
Obama '08

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

I have a question for Obama supporters.

A few months back, there was an AARP forum in Davenport, Iowa. Obama did not attend; instead, he went to a star-powered fundraiser in Atlanta. At the time, I questioned this choice and was told that Obama was not attending any forums that were not specifically sanctioned by the Democratic party as part of the nomination process. I still thought it was a poor strategical move, but I can accept that.

Now, however, I see that there is a forum in Des Moines, IA this weekend. Not all of the candidates are attending, and I have not seen anything about it being sanctioned by the DNC. Yet, Obama is going to be there. Am I missing something on it being sanctioned, or is he no longer sticking by the "DNC-sanctioned events only" policy? If so, when did this change?

Thanks!

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

here is a story about Bill Clinton and the $200 haircut he got at LAX (supposedly).

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/clinton/anecdotes/2.html

------------------------------------------------------

Clinton's camp cannot be trusted. I like Both Obama Eduard but I need to be realistic, I can't vote because I like or because uses certain verbal ism that seems to be convincing, I need more than that. Obama and Eduard are great individuals and I have no doubt that they are honest but so far for some reason I have not been convinced that Hilary is what you say she is, remember what you are saying is what the media is projecting to you; I have my own method to analyze a person. I am sure that you will agree with me (if you are a liberal democrat) that our goal is to win.
Why do you think the right wing cult and some in the media want to delete Hilary? Why? because they are scare, afraid of her and the her organization, because what she is saying is not what she will do. She need to play ball to win.
Carrie, Eastern Iowa (Sent Monday, November 26, 2007 12:57 PM)

I think the most accurate answer would be that in the early, debates Obama wasn't pointing out the distinctions as clearly as he is now. As a result, Hillary was 'winning' every one, because her status as #1 was unchanged afterwards. With a million debates on a million different issues, it was politically smart for Obama to opt out rather than give Hillary a million little victories. He really didn't have much to gain from attending them, and his absence was almost more noteworthy. Now, Obama is tightening his rhetoric, and the debates now have the potential to help him more. Additionally, more people are paying attention to the debates now, I'd bet, which if he wants to get his message out.

I think the other thing is that you mentioned that this was a forum and not a debate. Obama has participated in forums, because he seems particularly strong in that setting like the J-J dinner or whatever it was called. There is a difference between a forum and debate. Although the AARP thing was kind of both a forum and a debate, so I might be confused on this issue.

As for the AARP debate, I'm glad you brought that up. I was surprised by how much not attending that debate hurt him, and I have taken a few cracks about that since. I heard over the weekend that the voter divide between Clinton and Obama isn't race nor gender, but age. I, for the life of me, cannot remember where or why I heard this, but the age thing is an obstacle Obama will have to cross. Don't worry though, I think Obama can win over more seniors in his month remaining. He campaigning much more strongly for the non-youth vote than he was before.

It would appear that Obama will participate in debates so long as they are beneficial to him, but that's just good politics ... something I often accuse H.R. Clinton of. And I don't know that I would use the term 'policy' to describe Obama's position about not attending non-DNC-sanctioned debates/forums. Maybe as Barbossa in Pirates of the Caribbean would say ... 'more like guidelines actually.'

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

MK, MO--

I would be real curious as to a poll in which people gave their first and second choices. I think that Clinton might disappoint and Biden might be a surprise. MSNBC should check that out.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Lorraine in Michigan - Just what is a "radical lefty" anyway??? Seems like some expression you are programmed to say because you've been fed the koolaide by the right wing in this country. Just what is sooooo radical about the policies of Mrs. Clinton that you are sooooooo afraid of? I'll bet you can't even articulate them in a suscinct manner.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

J. American and a Clinton, who we love (i'm Black), sadly there's no room for him there, even though I don't think any candidate's spoken more forcefully about issues that affect afr. americans, like poverty, than Edwards. Heck- if Chelsea ran I think she'd equal what Edwards'll get in SC this year.

I've said this before but Hillary is part of the old guard. Dems have a schism in their party- the young, very liberal idealists, and the older conservatives. John & Barack represent the young more than Hill. Hill's dems are Dodd and Biden types. What bothers me about Hill is doesn't want to paint herself into that "old guard" corner, and sacrifices candor to do avoid it. I think the party deserves the belief set they want- don't lie to us to make yourself look like something you're not. If the Dems are far left, let them nominate such a candidate. Don't hide your views so as to obscure the differences between the candidates. Hill's general election primary campaign has finally endangered her primary frontrunner status. It's looking more and more like the Dems might actually get the nads to nominated the candidate that represents most of the party, like Dean was, in my opinion, last time. I like Hillary but let's be honest- she wouldn't be a senator w/o her last name, and she wouldn't even be seriously considered for president if she hadn't been first lady. Not that she wouldn't make a competent president- and I happen to think her demeanor "negatives" would acquit her well as prez, as they do for many ambitious women- but she'd be at Dodd numbers w/out the romantic idea of Bill back in the White House running around many Dem heads. BTW- Biden might be the best man for this job on both sides. In another time it'd be probably be McCain vs. Biden- these are the most qualified guys I think.

You hypocrites here that deride Obama for drug use- not even worth further mention. Wow. We know if that was a disqualifier hardly anyone could be president.

I'm happy to see someone mention Duncan Hunter. I think he's pretty solid- I can't figure out why R's haven't embraced him more. He's smart, knows his stuff on trade and nat'l defense. Now that Huckabee has finally gotten the attention he deserves I wish Hunter could too. That said, though he at least attended the Tavis Smiley debate, he along w/ Tancredo refused to recognize problems unique to the Afr. Amer. community, insisting that they don't want to speak about the country in those terms. Well gentleman, the country exists in those terms, even if you don't like it, which is one reason I believe the R's will struggle to win elections going forward unless they nominate moderates like Huck and McCain.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

There is more information being generated on "Are You Smarter Then A 5th Grader" then by the Democratic debates.

Kyle, because you can beat a Fifth Grader (on TV I assume) just means you don't understand the questions posed to adults

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Julie - I wouldn't be so quick to count Mrs. Clinton out. Although I would love to see Joe Biden get the Democratic nomination, don't discount the ability of the Clintons to win elections....much the same as the ability of the Bushs to win elections....hmmm...what goes around comes around.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

BTW- I am still having to dispel the rumors about Obama being Muslim in my office, 2nd person in the past month.. and asked them to pass along the word. He's really going to have to work to inform people who don't pay attention to politics about this. I would imagine his best chance would be after he won the primary (if he wins); in the gen. elec. there'd be more attention on him and he'd be able to address it more. But it's amazing what's circulating out here...

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Huckabee is no moderate. In fact he's probably the scariest of all the Republicans. He would come into the White House and govern as an ordained minister. That is totally unacceptable. A president has to be a president for all people not just Christians. I would find Mr. Huckabee to be the most unacceptable of all the Republican candidates.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Laurie, Manasquan, NJ / 'don't discount the ability of the Clintons to win elections....much the same as the ability of the Bushs to win'

I for one think people are tired of the big political machines such as clintons, they desire change, something the big political machine's are not offering, bush-lite is an all too accurate description of hillary, I don't look for her to make the cut, and if she does rudy easily wins the general election dooming everyone except the uber rich

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

I have to say- just because you're a Christian doesn't mean you're not moderate. Nowadays, as unbiblical as it may be in my view, Christians esp. at the leadership levels of churches are highly likely to be pro-choice and pro gay marriage. We start making religion a litmus test for presidentialness and we may as well restrict all public office to atheists. You people that hate Hillary treat her like she is your number one enemy. President Bush has done alot to the American People for them to hate him. What did President Bush do for the American people to hate him? These are the reasons below

1.)Bush stole the 2000 Election and is a polictian that has no business in office.

2.)Gave tax cuts to the very small minority of people in this country which he made a surplus into a deficit in only 2 years in office.

3.)Led us into a prempetive War

4.)Been the only most contraversal and divise President in the United States.

5.)Lets oil companies jack up gas prices with no control on prices while at the same time the oil companies are getting the biggest tax cuts in history.

6.)The richer are getting richer while the middle class and poor are getting poorer.

7.) Relaxed Enviromental Protections

8.) Signed the Patriot ACT

9.) Supports torture

10.) Orders the CIA to kidnap people from their own country and have them locked up in prison with torture.

11.) Had Valerie Plame fired for telling the truth about Iraq.

12.) Gives tax cuts to companies that ship their jobs to the Commies. This is actually the Republicans supporting a Communist Regime the very thing that they were against when Russia was communist.

13.)Admires Adolf Hilter

14.)Proposed a Consitutional Amendment to ban Gay Marriage. If Bush had his way he would declare gays an enemy to the state like what Hilter did to the Jews. Hitler first started out restricting the rights of Jews and then went further by killing them all. Declaring war against gays will start out by restricting their rights and then he might say thats not enough and then do something a lot worst to them.

15.)Buddies with the Prince of Saudi Arabia. The News showed Bush holding hands with him. A good Bed Buddy rumor to start up.

16.)Always with German Chancllor Angela Merkel. I think Angela Merkel may very possibly be the Antichrist. Another good rumor to spread that bush hangs out with the devil and that Bush and the Antichrist might be bed buddys.

17.)Singed and pushed for the Terri Shiavo Law for the courts to intervene in private family matters.

18.)Has the Far Right Movements infiltrate the Government. Infiltrating the Government is just as serious as Treason or trying to overthrow the Government.

19.) Supports Democracy in Iraq while at the same time trying to wipe out a Democray in the United States.

20.) Incourages the word Democrat and Liberal in Iraq but hates the word in the United States.

21.) Gives the people in Iraq the right to vote while surpressing voters rights here in the United States.

22.) Supports using Nuclear Weapons but is against other countiries having them.

23.) Used the Medias airwaves when he visited Iraq on Thanksgiving for a photo op. The Turkey in the photo with the President was a phony turkey. The troops probaly did not even have a Thanksgiving Dinner that year. He made it look like it was a real good homecooked turkey in the photo. Doing this is what the media does in communits or dictator regimes.

24.) Turning our United States TV News Media into Lies and Propaganda instead of News.

25.) Proposed Privatizing Social Security.

26.) Raised the budget of NASA while the money can be spent on giving Americans Healthcare or helping students who want to go to college but can't afford it.

27.)Now vetoing all of the Bills the Democratic Congress worked so hard to pass.

28.) Now planning a War with Iran.

For people who don't like Hillary what did see do to you for you to hate her. These are the reasons below

0.) Nothing, Ziltch, Nada, None

President Bush is alot more of an enemy then Hillary is. People being against Hillary Clinton is the reason the United States may never see a woman President. If Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic Nomination in 2008 it will be a choice between a woman President or another President like Bush. If Hillary or Obama don't get elected President we may not see a woman or African American President getting electing till 20 or 30 years from now. We are overdue for a woman or African American President. In 2008 it is a now or never deal between electing a Woman or African American President. Hillary may have her downfalls but no one can be worst then a crook who stole the election in 2000. Hillary would be much better then any Republican or Bush clone in 2008. People may hate Hillary but if you compare she is an angel compared to Bush. She would be much better then what we have now. The meanings stay the course or change direction really means something now. This election is going to mean a difference between staying the course or changing direction. Staying the course will mean a White Man Republican Honky being elected President and having the same intolerent backwards America changing direction will mean having the first woman or African American President elected and people accepting change and moving America forward. The 2008 Presidental Election is more then likely going to be a choice between a woman President or another Bush clone so in the long run no matter how much people don't like Hillary the American People would rather see a woman President then another Bush in office.

If you people want more recesion, more of your jobs being shipped to the Commies, tax cuts for the very few, high gas and oil prices, extension of the Patriot ACT, Far Right Wing Movements infiltrating the Government, A Constiutional Amendment that discriminates, Radical Supreme Court Justices being appointed that will rule Handicapped Parking Unconsitional, Tourte, The Country running out of money, Your Tax dollars going for NASA instead of Healthcare or people in need, Mandatory Prayer in School rather your Christian or not, Your Retirement savings being gambled away which would happen if Social Security is Privatized, Your TV News being Propaganda instead of News, The Government getting into your personal business or life, breathing bad air and getting sick, paying high medical and perscription drug costs, continuation of the War in Iraq, A mandatory military Draft, Another possible War with Iran, then vote for a Republican or someone like Bush is what another Republican President would be like.

If you people want you more jobs, Your job staying here in the Good Ole USA instead of it being shipped to the Commies, Univresal Healthcare, tax cuts for the majority instead of the very few, lower Perscription costs, Secure Retirement Savings, cheap Gas and Oil Prices, better air to breath, cures to dieases stem cell research, A Surplus, NASA Posibly being Privatized and our Tax dollars being used for people in need instead of a uneeded space program. Your TV News being the Truth instead of Propaganda, The Government staying out of your business or persoanl life, Repeal of the Patriot ACT, More Rights, Equal Rights Amendment, Supreme Court Justices being appointed that will interpet the law instead of their own backward old school opinion, End to War in Iraq, No War with Iran then vote for a Democrat or Hillary because she may become the Democratic Nominee.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Class warrior, D.C.:
Good post. For the most part I concur with you and feel the same frustration. I don't actually see them as literal, clinical psychotics but most assuredly as having real and extreme personality disorders: sociopath (Bush), narcissistic (Rice), near psychopath (Rove), and a simply totally self-focused, self-indulgent and greedy (Cheney), all being arrogantly dishonest and boldly without a conscience. Add to that the power they have, knowing that 'power corrupts and total power totally corrupts', and maybe they actually are close to psychotic. That of itself is very frustrating but then now include all of the people who are the 'enablers', without who they couldn't have accomplished anything, and the real frustration and disappointment (often seemingly even depressively hopeless) becomes apparent.

Enablers:
* Those who voted for them, motivated by their self-interests and having simply been manipulated by their own biases while failing to responsibly consider the total picture.
* The Republican Party as a whole who, again motivated by their self-interests, irresponsibly always stubbornly backing them in mass on everything.
* The powerful Special Interests and select few, completely motivated by their self-interests, who contributed the needed finances, backing and manipulation of public opinion (both overt and covert) that so greatly helped.
* The media who reported criticisms, barely, and then let them drop without answers or complete development, simply giving credit to the excuses, rationalizations, subterfuge and the often used encouragement to 'just move on', thereby offering biased reporting and simply contributing to the manipulation of public opinion.

In every case the 'enablers', including those who voted for them, were controlled by their self-interests which resulted in an irresponsible action. The question is, 'could it happen again?' Well when you look at the front runners, it seems to be going in that direction: Rudy Giuliani - questionable ethics and morals, totally self-indulgent and obviously looking for the backing of those who back Bush; Fred Thompson - who has never demonstrated anything other than the will to do others' bidding and take what ever they will give, simply a real 'puppet', following the 'script' and looking for the opportunity to perform; Hillary Clinton - unquestionably another sociopathic personality looking to feed her insatiable ego and willing to do/say whatever she deems necessary to accomplish her goals. And, as I said, they are the front-runners being sold to us daily just as Bush was. There are other candidates that seem to have some real quality, as there was in 2000 & 2004, but again they simply aren't getting the recognition. It is really up to the voters to see through it all, to objectively set their own biases aside and avoid being manipulated, to responsibly consider the total picture and make a conscientious decision. Simply not an easy challenge.

Like yourself, I often feel like 'I am shoveling against the wind' and then I see the emotional , irrational, irrelevant, often even crude and the obvious manipulative planted statements posted and I too wonder what is the use. Why get all worked up and 'beat your head against the wall'? Thanks for the example, I will follow suit.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Not to be the Merle Stanley, NY police, but in a sense Edwards DID win his home state, SC, where he was born, though he grew up mostly in NC and of course was its senator. In fact, though it was after he'd dropped out, he won the Democratic caucus here in NC... Clinton, and he is straightforward with his policy positions by doing what he thinks is the right thing rather than being poll-driven or necessarily following conventional wisdom and he defends his opinions. He doesn’t always defend his positions succinctly on-the-spot and is a person who likes to mull over concepts, which is why he probably does better at forums. He’s a thinking man, and that is something that I respect and relate to. So no, he’s not perfect, nobody is, not even me, but I think he is doing a pretty good job at shucking ‘politics as usual’, I think that he does succeed in general at bringing a true change to Washington politics, and I am proud to support him in his endeavor.

I don't think age had anything to do with it, as I believe there are other events he skipped, and capturing older voters is important. Obama is strong on healthcare and he does have good policy for older voters (though I like Biden’s healthcare plan better). He made a blanket exclusion (so not against any one class of people) at the time and has since changed his mind or his campaign did.

--Nicholas S. I am frustrated that it seems that the media has already decided that Obama and Clinton are the Democrate candidates. I would like to hear from all of the democrate candidates but all I hear is Clinton and Obama. I feel that this is unfair to the voters who are not given a chance to hear from all of the candidates. I think the Republicans candiadtes are given a chance to tell the voters there platform, because there is not a clear front runner. I wish that were true for the Democrate Party debates.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Anyone who thinks Hillary is "radical" has their head...somewhere other than out in the real world. Seems fairly obvious to me that she's straddling the fence, trying to please both sides, which would be fine if she truly believed that both sides have valid ideas, which I don't think she does. Looks to me like she is saying whatever she thinks people want to hear just so she can gain power. She's taking tons of $ from special interests for her campaign and sees nothing wrong with that. She's a typical slick politician and we have enough of those. We need a true leader.

You know why the Repubs (and the MSM which are, of course, controlled by them) are acting as though it's a given that "Hills" will be the nominee? They say it's because they can beat her because so many people dislike her. True enough that she's greatly disliked by folks across the political spectrum, but the Repubs will make sure they fan the flames of that dislike by trying to convince the masses of how "radical" she is. I'm sure they also count on the fact that there are, unfortunately, far too many people out there who want to go with a perceived winner, the attitude being "s/he's going to win anyway, so I might as well vote for him/her in the primary. Why vote for a loser?" Either that, or they think, why bother to vote at all?

However, even if the Repubs can't beat HRC, she is the candidate most likely to make concessions to their agenda, to be as others have said, "Repub lite", so in essence it's a win/win situation for them.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

REG in Phx: To your list of enableres you forgot to add the ignorant and uneducated who are easily emotionally manipulated by the Right to become so focused only on controversial social/religious issues and patriotic jargon that they vote against their own self-interest and well-being--and then add insult to injury by believing the Repugs when they blame the Dems for the working man's woes. Wake up folks--they don't really give a damn about you, or those issues. That bunch of corrupt hypocrites is laughing at you, all the way to the bank.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

I’m not sure any of what I’m going to write will get through to anyone, but here goes:

Greed and ambition is at its finest in the realm of (current) politics. Not a single one of these people (Republican or Democrat) gives a damn about anything but winning. Really!

Does anyone really think anything will change? The last time this country had anything that resembled change was decades and decades ago. Once, I do believe, great people (Abraham Lincoln, for instance) walked this earth and made significant changes, but that was a long, long time ago. Nowadays it is all about power, greed, and control. Period. If you are buying any of it (current politics) you are just too young to know better, or you smoked way too much wacky weed back in the day.

Obama? Does anyone who thinks he’s a great leader actually pay attention to what he says? Did you actually read his book? I did. As my father would say…”wet behind the ears.” Sorry. Just another wannabe. And yes, his lack of experience *is* an issue. I think of Carter when I listen to this guy. Great ideas and theories, but in need of much seasoning. Heck, everyone knows that Carter became much more helpful to this country *after* office than before. Obama needs to get a grip.

Edwards? Please. Are we forgetting that this is the guy who thinks it’s perfectly normal to pay $400 - $2000 for hair care? (His hairdresser verified this bit of info). Do we really want a health care plan that demands everyone sign up for “the government plan” or prove they are insured elsewhere? Ridiculous. What did Ben say?...Let’s see… “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” A little loosely applied here, perhaps, but tell me exactly how are we to do this? And what’s next? Forced housing, forced transportation? Health care is essential and I do believe everyone deserves equal access, but government-forced plans? and via Medicare? Has anyone noticed that the current (government) system is nothing to write home about either? Sorry, I’m not buying this guy at all.

Hillary? Gosh, I’m a 70's girl and I’d love for this barrier to come down, but she talks out both sides of her mouth ***all the time!*** Fighter, yes. Honesty? She ain’t no Abe, that’s for sure! Besides, taxes in her state do nothing but go up and I don’t see any real improvement. And let’s not forget where she came from (pre-White House). Arkansas…now there’s a “fine example” of government at its best. Give me a break. Not buying her load either.

Joe Biden? He doesn’t have the energy. I saw his response to being called upon to answer in the last televised debate. It screamed “loser” before he even opened his mouth. Waaaahhhh, waaaahhhh. There’s one sure way to convince people they should ignore you and that’s to tell everyone who’s listening that “you are ignoring me!” Sorry, Joe…you are weakened by too *many* years in office.

The rest are not even worth mentioning as far as I’m concerned. I‘ve read all platforms and quite frankly, I don’t believe any dem has what it takes to truly put priorities back in line. Money, and/or power grubbing, or weak….not much to write home about. Sorry Abe. Maybe next time.

As for the Republicans: Just check out the Federalist Society. Then, if you don’t believe that there *is* a real problem with this current outfit…you’re scary and I’ll inform my children to not look directly into your eyes (or theirs).

So what is the answer? It’s simple. US! We need to put away our ever-open checkbooks, stop charging for everything else, ditch our big-A SUV’s, find housing we can afford, and begin to educate our children that we’ve all been duped (all the way back to great-grandmother/father). Then we need to show them how to avoid getting trapped themselves!

We also need to teach them that, no, we actually cannot continue to bulldoze down trees faster than they can replenish themselves and expect them to continue to cool us, clean our air, and help make rain.

We need to teach them that, no, we don’t *actually need* every flipping new gadget that comes on the market (and help create yet another gazillionaire). Our lives are easy enough as evidenced by our big fat behookies (my son’s word for bottoms).

We need to teach them that no, living a thousands of miles from our families, with one or both parents traveling constantly in order to keep the $$$ rolling in so we can buy even more crap we don’t need…really *isn’t* the best arrangement for solid communities.

We need to teach our children to understand that love, commitment, and compassion are all that really matters. Tell them that it isn’t important what they look like, but who they are and then *act* in accordance. (For instance: Britney, Paris, and Nicole are spoiled brats who don’t appreciate what they have and we don’t want them (our children) to wind up like they are).

We also need to turn off the damn TV! It’s sucking the life, resources, and very will out of this country/world. No seriously! Try *not* watching it for one month. Then turn it back on to see how you feel. You’ll notice right away an almost sickening sensation. I am nearly 100% TV free (exception…public broadcasting) and loving it. I am no longer a slave to an obsessive need to unplug from reality. Granted…I do have more time to *think*. But I find that my robotic reactions are subsiding and I actually enjoy my life! You might like TV*free*land , Sam I am! Try it and you might say, I don’t need this crap…anyway!

Lastly, we must tell them that they shouldn’t always believe everything they hear or read...one must always do their homework. Think, read, listen, and think some more! I’m pretty sure the space between our ears was meant for more than basic functions.

Finally, for those of us older ones, who will clearly suffer from our conditioned glutinous, lazy, self-centered behavior. Hold on. The next few years are going to be a doozie!
First thoughts: Another red-hot day

"You can't separate the church from the state when the people that run the state go to church. -- Cedric, Charlotte"

Nothing in the Constitution says that a person who goes to church and has religious values is crossing that line. The problem lies in those who think their religious tenets and practices are the only ones with any validity, think everyone should believe what they believe, and that if everyone doesn't then they should make laws that will at least favor their religion over others, if not actually force belief. THAT is crossing the line of separation.

Likewise, the founding fathers also stated that a person's religion or lack thereof is not to be used as a criteria for deeming them worthy or unworthy of office.

Furthermore, claims that the US was "founded as a Christian nation" are flat out wrong. If that were the case there would be specific provisions in the Constitution establishing Christianity as the official state religion instead of what we find in the First Amendment. The founding fathers happened to be Christians, but they knew that non Christians could have ethical values similar to theirs and believed in others' rights to choose for themselves what to believe.

And may I add that I am heartily sick of hearing that anyone who disagrees with the Christian extremist viewpoint on this hates Christians and that the Christians are being "persecuted." Oh, PLEASE! I don't hate Christians, per se, I just hate that smug superiority so many of them exhibit.

recommended reading: http://www.amazon.com/Godless-Constitution-Moral-Defense-Secular/dp/0393328376/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196145996&sr=8-1

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Jean Robbins...Hillary aside, just one question. Why do people say..."putting the environment ahead of people?" Just how does one exist (on this planet) if not for our environment? By preserving our natural resources (sometimes also referred to as "the environment") we ultimately protect ourselves! Why is this fact *not* clear to so many?

That's all. Seems simple to me, but I actually *read*.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Jerry G. Because, even though most of them dropped out of high school, they do seem to be very smart and have very reasoned and constructive insights on the world around us. Take Rosie O'Donnell for example.
Cy Lundberg, Tallings MS]

Why so pretentious & tunnel visioned? I agree that we don't need the opinions of most celebrities on many topics just because they're "celebrities" but to question intelligience based on level of education is simply not validated in any way by history. If you take a good look through history you will see that a high school dropout engineered the first space(shuttle, or one of the appollos?help me out knowledgeable people-you must know this) & I'm confident we can find a book of amazing discoveries, inventions, etc that high school drop-outs like Thomas Edison are credited with. Does anybody know that Elijah Gray actually created the first TELEPHONE as we know it today? Alexander Graham Bell only had an amplification device for his hard of hearing parents & simply beat Elijah to the patent office. Now, look at our current country's "Bleader" in chief(pronounced "Bleeder"; of our trillion $ surplus that just one, now 2, terms previous, William Jefferson Clinton left us with, with all his/their faults-you all are forgetting to mention all the wonderful things Bill & Hillary have already done for our country. Bush's IQ-go ahead-see if you have the intelligience to find that information. I dare you-how much education did his family's & thence his money pay for him to have such a low IQ?
And, the other one about Bill's BJ-the right wingers (not me!) were willing to impeach a man for an indiscretion that he "lied" about to save his wife's & daughter's feelings? While almost daily we are hearing about indiscretions of similar nature that the leaders of the impeachment process either resigned or were forced out of office? hypoccrites. I would rather have a president have an indiscriminate BJ even in the whitehouse than a president/VP & their cronies causing mass genocide to our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other places in the world, in a war based on PROVEN lies-see the commission on 911 report. Why have Bush, Cheney and the rest not been brought up on impeachment yet? have they signed another "Presidential executive order" or whatever they call it-in the middle of the night behind the locked doors of the "Skull & Crossbones" secret society that both George Bush's belong to or in the oval office that allows him to keep changing the constitution to what they & their saudi royal family want?(Osama Bin Laden considers himself a saudi, calls himself a prince & the Bush Family has long had ties to the Saudi Royal Family. Just the scariest thought all the reading, listening, & learning has led me to ask what Next? will Bush be siging a new wartime Presidential executive letter allowing him & Cheney to stay in Power yet again, to "complete their mission" of further bankrupting America, completing the coup that began almost 8 years ago? Help me believe this can never happen-pleeease. Both repubs & dems & all other interested parties on this one please. I am not trying to incite riot or make false statements & obviously, a few of the political terms I don't recall exactly what they are but I am confident you more intelligient, educated people can understand my content over my ability to express it. & if you can explain it better-please do! Don't forget this is a class-war at this time & not a "party" & almost shouldn't even be a race thing anymore but sadly still is. We that truly care do not hate the republicans, democrats, other political parties, the wealthy, the super-educated, law enforcement-just the corruption and and absolute power & greed that has always been the detriment of any nation/empire. Only when the oppressed people of all races, ethnicities, countries of origin, religions & non-religious realize that without us, the leading powerful will fall because as history has shown when you continue to exploit the energies & talents of your working class & they get ill, injured, old & die off-there will be no one left to do their dirty work/hard-labor & we all know they won't do it themselves-they might get caught! also so many hypocrites turning up all over from the right wings to the left & middle. Maybe it is truly time to vote with our hearts for JOHN EDWARDS since the last 2 elections proved our votes don't always count-they get lost, stolen & the hanging chad machines all replaced 2x now since that coup. AND, by the way, how can the rural, suburban & poor people everywhere keep voting for the liar!!! Are any 1 of them better off today & if so we are probably still living off the laurels of that trillion # surplus. That day is OVER! My belief is that the republican machine is pushing hillary or any democrat so we can once again clean up the mess they've left us (as usual) & then they'll steal it back again. Just my opinions of course. 43 y/o white female married a white male that happens to be hispanic & my maiden name I dare you to guess if it's German or Jewish? I can't tell you what my full name is though-a lot of you people scared me. Last thoughts (2, of course): all politicians & most of the rest of us have some sort of baggage. let's not be naive, there are times politicians understand the need to compromise and work together bi-partisanly to try to get the best for all their, Oh, Ok now I'm being naive-it used to be for their constituents-now it's for the corporate sponsers money for their elections. Well, ideally, you can see how compromise could be used for the good of all if there was no corruption & if pigs could truly fly! Baggage. Now you know what's keeping me up nights. last thought-promise-If you are confused by my suggestions/ideas run-on thoughts-don't worry-my grandmother always told me I could confuse Einstein! Maybe I should run! Goodnight & God Bless to all, even if you call God something else or don't believe at all & to all a good night.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Not sure if my earlier will post it was very long but had to get this one in...Oh, & Jose Alemar, one of the few, the proud, the brave to use what I am assuming is your full name, Class warrior & Desperate: [Don't let them bring you down, it's only castles burning]-Neil Young. I really hope I'm allowed to say that without copyright infringement. To the honorable Mr. Neil Young & Neil's contractors/attorneys if any, have mercy on me, uh, oh-is that another copyright infringement-do I hear Linda Rondstadt who way back when married a wonderful beautiful black man when it wasn't even popular-oh, my & we never even heard any scandals about them, maybe because they were/are good people? Am I wrong about that? You tell me. I listened to you, Neil Young, when I was very impressionable & still do reverently & I used to really love the Allman Brothers until I realized the line in their song referring to Neil Young's song "Southern Man", which suggests to the southerners that they better "change at last" (sad to say the change still hasn't come, North or South, & when I say North & South-that also includes East & West, but many positive changes did come out of that movement so don't let anybody tell you you wasted your time)& refers to the horrors our black brothers & sisters & who knows how many others, endured/endure the days of cross burnings, church burnings, etc with little children in Sunday school murdered!, says "a southern man don't need him around anyhow" referring to Neil Young. Maybe the Allman Brothers can tell me if they've changed their minds about this or why they feel/felt that way. maybe because not all southern people are cross-burners, either? Or, because southerners are not the only guilty parties still (40 YRS ago & still!) perpetuating this ongoing discrimination & genocide via hopelessness leading to "feel good" drug use, or profiling leading to disproportionate prison populations & much higher chance of getting murdered in jail/prison than out, I would guess or dying by way of no longer having a life & lifeline to pass on. Anyway, I loved the Allman Brother's music but now not all of the content. Anyhow, sorry, Jose, I have to get back to my koolaid : ) Here's to you & some very good thoughts, now think Edwards! he lost last time because of the lies about John Kerry & many other reasons but not because of his platform on the issues. he is true to his word; $400 haircuts or not-I thought you repubs call that good for the economy as far as putting $$ back into our economy from what they're earning & creating jobs. Why, don't you think John Edwards, a VP ran & Presidential hopeful, don't you think that man's barber deserves just a smitten of the of the riches many politicians & their crony corporations have already stolen from us? Look at Enron, MCI WORLDCOM (now MCI-still operating after stealing all those pensions?!-how could anyone with any ethics or conscience at ALL consider even purchasing anything from MCI???. Haliburton/Cheney (moved to Dubai off-shore tax shelter for the no-bid contract $$$ we AMERICAN tax-payers paid them for Iraq contracts-what about that most intelligient ones-what do you say are the facts about that?). What about the POC (Procurement O? Commission) set up & hand-picked to be led by another GW Bush appointed winner-I think last name starts with a "P"-where did the $12 million?billion? CASH that Bush appointee "P" said was sent to Iraq on pallets wrapped in plastic on a suspect jet not typically used for this type of operation-why is it no one has any record of that money now? How much more blind do you/we want to be? I guess ignorance truly is bliss-have at it. The blind leading the sheep-you've got that right. (just my opinions of course-you can check to see if I'm right because you are so much more intelligient than I am.) I am not to be held liable for any mis-information here as I am not under oath & not trying to damage any reputations-they've already done that to themselves. again, 43-44 Y/O white female still waiting for the changes promised in the 60's when I was born & raised on the promises that all men are created equal & now even women. By the way I am so glad the Bush family values have led them to raise such wonderful examples of 1st children. Well, I refuse to revisit the sins of the father on the children-there's no bad children-just bad parents, or in the majority of our populations case, over-worked, underpaid, exhausted, stressed 2 parents working full time to support 1-2 children. How come my great-grandfather was able to support & formally educate 5 children on a hardware clerk's salary? It was called "A Living Wage" let's bring it back. And, if I absolutely must pick Hillary, I will because she was always my 1st choice before all the smut about the corporate sponsorships-how else will she be able to buy the seat that was bought before her? & I believe at this point in our nation in crisis that she is willing to do whatever she has to, even to look like a sell-out, to get in that oval office to help our country beecome as stable as she can in 4-8 years after a full blown war as Iraq still is, even if she can't help each & every one of us. & don't forget Arnold-Thank God he's a republican lite too-he's got the healthcare in CA where you don't lose your healthcare just because some hot-head climber feels like firing you that day or you have the guts to quit to end the exploitation of yourself! Things can change when Hillary gets the Power of the Presidential Pen! Please come back Chelsea, please come back! This is truly partisan now. Vote for Hillary or Edwards. I only don't say Obama because I feel he & we are being set-up for another fall if we divide our votes too many ways again as in Kerry/Edwards. I love Obama's ideas & ideals & believe him. I just don't think with only 12% of the American population being african american, I don't believe enough whites, white hispanics, non-white hispanics, island blacks and all others will vote for him so we have to decide who we really want that may still have a chance. Oh, speaking of BJ's have any of you heard about Rudy? Wow, what another example of family values. by-the-way: I met my husband at 23, lived together 8 years betrothed (look up in bible-stronger than marriage is betrothal), then married at the urging of HIS female office co-workers & much sentiment on our part & still together after all these years. Both from broken families & my mother unfortunately smoked herself to death rather than let this country, a closet homosexual (bi?)husband, severely abusive parents and siblings and yes, even me, change her ideals of live & let live & we actually lived this not just preached it to the choir. In case my other didn't post 43 y/o white female married a white that also happens to be hispanic-we are the same color when we are not tan & when we are tan : ) Thought he was Italian when first saw him & together we are ethnically the United Nations! NOT MUTTS! And my maiden name-I dare you to guess if it's german or jewish although I can't put it here too many of you scared me a lot & my mother's maiden name was Irish, her mother's English & grandmother's Native American Indian. By the way, Spanish & the many native american languages, maybe even some afrikkans or MOOR were the 1st languages spoken on this continent &we gained most of our southern or more states by warring with & stealing it from Mexico-maybe they're just trying to get back home. Oh, yeah, remeber when Spain ruled the world? Just LOOK what can happen to us if we're not careful. Oh, & intelligient/formally educated ones, can you please find those facts about how we are so indebt to China now? And so many of our other "enemies"? And why no embargo on China with all their human rights violations? Why are we trying to FREE Iraq & not Darfur, RWANDA, Sudan? That's it I'm out of steam. Hope this gets posted & sorry if both get posted. I'll do my best to read the rest for a while-you know you can learn something from everyone, even your worst enemies & I have here tonight. Thanks for letting me vent. I'm going to think about how much I love my country but fear our current administration. Think globally, act locally for the most effective positive changes that you can see today!

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Last one-oops broke my promise-good thing I'm not a politician. Has no one out there ever had to break just one promise because of S.N.A.F.U.s? How many then? Liars? Hypocrites? Per my last post if it posts, my "white" great-aunt (2 doctorates, Phys-Ed & Doctor of Psychology, never married, no children, had an offer by a prince once but he refused to let her continue her work as a military psychiatrist or any other work & she couldn't bear to give up working with the veterans/war veterans. She was given a testimonial dinner by the NAACP in Delaware for founding one of the first Head Start Programs in area of Dover, DE or thereabouts & whose Doctoral thesis proved that children must have at least "X" amount of square footage (I think was at least where their elbows do not touch was the measure & that was about 1-2.5 square feet beyond their bodies-when I get the testimonial book back from my aunt>I'll confirm the space but sad it took one woman a whole lot of time & energy that this was not just common sense to the GP/educators of the time) & cannot be squashed into classrooms and expected to learn at the same rates as children placed in smaller classrooms. Point-I am so sick of the bigots still remaining in this country and the world, and if you don't like it here-you leave-not me/us. The rest of us are trying to make the changes we believe in by living our words daily. By the way, does anyone realize that if you don't get married, you will collect both Social security checks if they are still available when we are that age? That is perfectly legal & not at all greedy-you/we've earned it. Don't let the "tabu" make us forget the benefits of remaining betrothed and not "legally" married! Look in the bible where "stronger than marriage is betrothal". makes sense even if it is all parables! Of course setting one's mind to something will be more binding than ink on paper. of course, having medical benefits and tax breaks now may be more helpful, depending on your age & tax situation. And, from my father & his friends, I can assure you many gays will make excellent parents, the ones I've seen are so careful not to stigmatize their children or teach their children to hate, stigmatize & mistreat others-doubtful except for the meanest of queens-are all straight parents perfect? Must let you know in case my previous posted that I do believe in equal rights, including the right to marry for all men & women, including gay men & women even though I already mentioned that my homosexual father did not come out of the closet but was caught out-of-the closet & pretty much ruined my mother's life in her mind-she was never able to trust another man. I didn't want to see him for years & then I grew up & realized that most of us do try to make the best decisions for all involved at the time we are making the decision even if we feel later that was a big mistake. In that day & age he felt he had to stay in the closet not to shame himself, his family, friends, children, & to provide for us & not be beaten to death daily & not to be so ashamed of himself so he could still function & excel in a "Tunnel vision" society for the most-part & they really did love each other very strongly & share so many wonderful ideals, like live & let live, and lived them didn't just preach them & he tried, oh, how he tried not to be homosexual. (My observations, not brain-washing by mom or dad). Also, how can I be such a ccheerleader for other socially identified "goups" like oppressed races, religions, etc & be so judgemental of my own father, who my mother always told my brother & self how much he loved us & how he also, not just mom, changed our diapers, wwiped our noses and rocked us to sleep & that their relationship problems had nothing to do with either of their love for us. So, please everyone-stop throwing stones. Have mercy as those of you who believe Jesus had mercy & we should try to be like Jesus-let he who is without sin cast the first stone-that's a good philosophy even if you don't read the bible. That part of the bible, so many refer to when the subject of homosexuality comes up, remember was written by mortal men/the "media" of the day, not God(s), & at a time we needed to populate the earth-that is certainly not the case now unless they-the true powers that be>INTL BIG MONEY>Read an oldie but goodie by Taylor Caldwell-[The Captains & the Kings] are just farming us/our children to fill the remaining low-paying jobs available in this country/world. How many children do most of our "Leaders" have that are filling the low paaying jobs or high paying jobs with unbearable hours & with our heart attacks and strokes exceeding Japan's? All we need is love & more money to change things. By the way, Ted Turner, where are you? I want to put your plans into action today! OK, I'm going to get some rest so I can start my 5th 12.5 HR shift in a row after having to had worked one of my days off last week to get paid to take Thanksgiving off I know I've worked more Hrs & days straight before & probably will again & so have many of you. By-the-way, I have been promoted 5X in the last 7.5 months because like many Americans, I still believe in doing everything you do the best you can whether or not I get my proper rest & whether its picking up garbage>brain surgery. And, stop picking on the illegals>who do you think is hiring them>Americans & American Corporations that do or think they do have the ability to hide behind iron gates or payoff the very officials that we pay to stop illegal immigration. The point: we need a change. Last point:We don't hate the wealthy or think the wealthy don't care about poverty>just the corrupt, greedy, hypocritical ones & they are starting to get caught now, aren't they? Bye-Bye Trent "Not"-when you die no one will be at your funeral. You intelligient ones & you know who you are so don't act like I'm a raving lunatic just because I am not naming specific facts & figures. I have been reading all these posts by all of you so I know you are intelligent enough to know exactly who & what I am talking about oh, so many of GW Bush's hand-picked administration>I can't wait til it gets all the way to the top! Divine & Street Justice will then both be served! I'd say the democratic congress is getting more done than we have given them credit for already, especially in the face of the strongest bi-partisan opposition not from the entire republican party but by THEIR leader-in-chief, certainly not mine-I voted Kerry Edwards. Should have gone with the spoiler. Oh & Joe Biden-You are really, really my first choice, I have been following your leadership in Delaware with my grandmother since I was a teen. I agree you are the best person/human being for the job but you see what is already going on here. What can we do to get Joe Biden or John Edwards elected besides sending more money we don't have? Otherwise, it's Hillary, Bill & Chelsea for me! Welcome home! America needs you, [Hillary Clinton, Hillary] won't you please come home? I mean the Hillary we knew & loved, of course! What is the point here? Wake up America-we are in this together or we all fall down. Also, please read James Cone's "God of the Opressed" & recommended by James Cone: "The Irony of American History" by author with german sounding name I missed on the show, initials: F.B. I know I will! And, much as I LOVE GOD, that's what I call my higher power, separation of church & state is more necessary now than ever. But I feel ethics & morals; for example>murder is illegal=thou shalt not kill; should never be separated from anything.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

CLINTON=SCANDAL.
I certainly respect Mrs. Clinton for standing by Mr. Bill when he committed all those transgressions against their marriage.I pity their poor daughter.
Bill & Hillary have no self-respect,but their daughter does. This nation is SO DONE with the Clintons, they need to get over themselves.Go have a barbuque and beer with all the lowlifes Bill pardoned.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

Thanks for letting me vent. I'm going to think about how much I love my country but fear our current administration. Think globally, act locally for the most effective positive changes that you can see today!
JGO, Pompano Beach, FL, yes formally of NYC & LI, NY (Sent Tuesday, November 27, 2007 5:10 AM)

____________________________________
JGO,
I enjoyed your venting, I do not usually read long and numerous posts but you caught me at hello!
Thank you for your thoughts and intelligent insights.
Please post again and again, a breath of fresh air and you are a true American.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

BUSH=SCANDAL.
I certainly respect Mrs. BUSHES for standing by Mr. SHRUB when he committed all those transgressions against their marriage and country we pity their poor daughters.
SHRUB & LAURA have no self-respect, but their daughters do not either..This nation is SO DONE with the BUSHES, they need to get over themselves. In the Democratic Elections I dont see him stumbling over confronting the Issues.( answering the questions asked.) You ask them a question and they spend their answere time thanking people. Unlike the others, He's not going to spin you a feel good story; but tell you exactly what he plans to do.
If you realy want change, You would vote Obama. If you want the same crap Just vote for either one of those Characters.
Jose Alemar, Florence, Colorado (Sent Monday, November 26, 2007 12:22 PM)

------------------

So that in 2012, when things are no better than they are now, and maybe worse, we can have her be a 1-termer and end up with another Re-puke-lican in office. Keep in mind that if she tries to put in place some of the crap policies she's talking about (no Re-puke-lican in their right mind will be part of some bi-partisan committee to study anything she puts forward; they'd rather rip their own skin off than work for a Clinton), you'll see the Congress switch hands in 2010 a la Bill in 1994. She is THAT hated by the other side of the aisle.

You need to think more than just taking back the WH. You need to think about the ramifications of WHICH Democrat is sitting in the Oval Office--one that has some chance of, and HAS had success working on bi-partisan legislation, or one that has Re-puke-licans spitting at the utterance of her name--when you stand in the voting booth and vote.

I will NOT be taking the chance that we end up right back where we started in four short years. I cannot in good conscience allow that to happen. I cannot vote for Hillary Clinton. You're just giving everything back to the Re-puke-licans, whether it be now when their candidate wins, or in four years when she's done nothing to improve the country.

First thoughts: Another red-hot day

One image I cant get out of my mind was when Karl Rove, Bush, and Cheney were dancing at a party in DC- it was all over TV that night. At the same time that week several American soldiers were killed in Iraq.
