I read a lot of people thinking of leaving Mass. due to the inability of paying for forced health insurance.....

(AP) The average uninsured Massachusetts resident could obtain health care coverage for as little as $175 a month under the state's insurance law, less than half of earlier estimates, officials said Saturday.

The plans are a critical piece of the state's landmark insurance initiative, which requires all state residents to have health coverage by July 1 or face tax penalties. Some insurers had suggested earlier that the premium would be $380 a month.

"This is a big improvement from the first round of bids and a big step forward for health care reform," Gov. Deval Patrick said as he released the results of negotiations with health insurers in the state. "The health security that was the point of health care reform will be delivered at an affordable price."

The panel charged with overseeing the law is expected to give its seal of approval Wednesday to the seven health care plans that met the affordability goals. On March 20, the board is scheduled to vote on whether the insurers will be able to offer lower cost versions without drug coverage.

The minimum plan detailed by Patrick would cover the average uninsured Massachusetts resident, who is typically around 37 years old. It includes prescription drug coverage and covers basic medical care, such as emergency room visits and outpatient medical care.

Lower cost plans would be available to young adults. Prices would also rise and fall depending on the age of the person seeking insurance and where they live.

The plans must include coverage for preventive doctor visits and an out-of-pocket limit, after which the plan would pay everything else, said the board's executive director, Jon Kingsdale. They must also include coverage for emergencies, mental health, substance abuse, rehabilitation, hospice and vision.

So if I read this right....

It will cost $175 to $380 per month for health insurance for people who don't have health insurance.

That means either people are going to have to pay a lot more in salary for people to afford this insurance or they will have to leave the state.

I wonder what the deductables will be?

The tax credits will ensure that working families never have to pay more than a limited percentage of their income for health care.

2. Available: No discrimination. The insurance companies can't deny you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition.

3. Reliable: It's portable. If you change or lose your job, you keep your health care.

It is a very thoughtful plan and leaves no one behind.

If you've never lived in a country that has universal health coverage then you should keep your big mouth shut. I live in Mexico which is a poor country but they provide health care to almost everyone. Yes, there are lines and you have to wait but that is because of their tight budget. In the U.S. it would be much better organized and financed. You can call it socialized or whatever you want but it works. You are forced to have car insurance so what the hell is the difference. Lighten up and listen to the arguments and not to your own prejudices.

Don't need to read about it, just ask me. I still work in Massachusetts, but live in New Hampshire. Massachusetts taxes/fees will eat you alive. Much cheaper, even with the gas prices, to commute. I make sure to buy my gas in New Hampshire too, the state gas tax is much less then in Massachusetts.

Here is the answer to your question; Obama's state record is a property of state of Illinois. I’ll suggest you and Hillary to go to Springfield Library if you need it. Obama’s public and voting records are right in Springfield for interested party to see.

I just read the article on Fox. Hillary just stepped in the biggest mud-hole . The Obama campaign did a comeback hit, but I am sure Obama himself will stand up in force against, once again, against Hillary who should be the last person to throw stones or is it mud? Yes, it's not wrong to snuff out someone who is actually going against the law, but what Obama has done with the PAC $ is what he has done for awhile now, prior to mentioning his presidential campaign. She is stupid (I don't use that word often), but this will come back to haunt her. Can she be so open as she requests from Obama? No it does not seem to be. And if voters are smart and are voting on electability...this is just the beginning for Hillary - she will be attacked over and over again on her (and Bill's) history of finances and indiscreations... the electability factor will be down the drain.

1. Don't trust online poll. Even some Media mentioned this a lot due to its credibility. One person can click on it as many times as he want just by clear the cookies, etc...

2. Dee, I read quite a lot of your posts. Do you really know who Lynch is ? I bet Obama will cry for that endorsement. Don't sing the song for him without knowing the words.

3. Hillary is a smart person and she is supported by many experts in the fields like healthcare, energy, economy, enviroment,......Those people are not fools. Hillary knows what she is doing. Her confidence comes from within, years of experince, not from charming outside, like Obama, pretending.

4. Some experts, per media, like Hillary's calculating. She cares, because for the country like ours, we have to calculate, that is responsible.

5. Obama is dishonest. For all the misrepresenting of Hillary he should not point any finger to Hillary. His position for war, questions there, you don't hear him talking "I did not vote for the war" any more now. His position on Iran ? No show, no vote. ....lists on and on. How many people know it ? Limited. They may know his speech only. He uses all these to label Hillary. His campaign complain that Hillary attack him. How dare you say that ? You attack her so many times. I don't blame her, you ask for it !

Unfortunately, for Hillary Clinton and the "jackals" of the Clinton political machine, the American people have become wiser -you cannot intimidate them anymore.

You can tout all the endorsements there are -let all governors, state legilators, Mayors, and their spuses endorse you, Hillary, yet that would not be enough. Try what you may, Hillary, you are not getting the Democratic Party nomination, and even if you do (with all the crooked strategies you people have perfected), most Democrats would rather vote for a decent Republican candidate, rather than you. Hillary, you are a very divisive factor, and a bitter one at that, in American politics. People who know you and your husband very well, say you people are very vengeful.

Americans have had enough of you and your husband.
As for your charade about caring about women's issues, and casting yourself as a feminist, you are not. You are in this race for your own singular political ambition: your husband, Bill Clinton was a Governor and a two time president, and now, you think it is your turn. Guess what Hillary: the American people do not owe you anything. As a First Lady for 8 years, what humanitarian work or social cause did you do, as most First Ladies have been known to do? First Ladies, like Petty Ford, advocated and established a substance abuse treatment center; Lady Byrd Johnson took up the beatification of American landscapes; First Lady Laura Bush took up the promotion of literacy, and have other First Ladies. The American people (especially, those, who are supporting Hillary) should ask her, what she accomplished in the 8 years in the White House, except to belittle and discredit poor women who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton. I hope, most women realize that, and see through you.

You Know i Liked Bill as President but not Hillary. i just dont get it with a Hillary supporter? I ask them why and they dont say much of anything. They only thinking about Bill and what he brought to the White house yeras ago. For the life of me I cant figure out why they think Hillary will do the same thing?? this conuntry is deadlock republicans against democrats nothing is getting done. do you really believe hillary can break the deadlock? Do you really believe her answers are not scripted? do you really believe she says exactly what she thinks?
