Doug, I don't know whether you are anti-semetic or not but there are those who are concerned about Israel's security, who, short-sightedly believe that Israel's security is best represented by hawkish positions on Iraq and Iran.

Somehow, I don't think that these people realize that fostering anti-Americanism (which is a recruitment tool used by Al Qaeda) by increased American militarism, can in no way improve Israel's security.

Diplomacy is the answer (and that doesn't mean appeasement) to defusing the hostility in the Middle East. The military option should be used as a last resort and an implied (albeit, definite) threat. The carrot of economic and trade incentives to a developing nation like Iran (like it was used in North Korea) can be incredibly effective. In fact, I think that Bush's possible success in the talks between Olmert and Abbas (the first good thing that Bush has done as president - although it will never make up for the other criminal acts of the past seven years) are all tied into to economic incentives.

What does amaze me about Streisand endorsing Hillary or for that matter, any Democrat who is against the war, endorsing Hillary, is that Hillary is not an anti-war candidate. She also embraces policies of corporate favoritism. She is not a true Democrat and does not have the right to be the standard bearer of this party.
