Hillary is really treading in deep water. While she failed in 93, obama did pass a successful health care bill in Illinois that covers those under 18 without insurance. So, who is most likely to do better in getting health care passed and do it effectively. My money is on Obama.
And concidering her track record of poor judgment and failures, she really needs to be careful.
plus those wild claims of being the face of foreign policy in the 90s...really! just like Bill's revisionist history. Like Joe S. said today on Morning Joe, Bill is being rather insulting to the intelligence of the voter thinking they will buy his junk hook line and sinker.
hillary is rapidly becoming a caricature of herself with this sudden and daily lashing out and making silly claims.
Does she honestly think Obama is not going to hit back with his rapier wit? Do she think he isn't going to press her on what she is going to do regarding mandates? Does she honestly think the people are so stupid as to believe the stories coming out of her.

Well yes, Huckabee has media skills. It's hard to see how anyone could influence anything without media skills. The real issue is how the GOP blends Evangelicals and Wall Street to form a coalition. The problem is that Wall Street has had three huge scandals, in the past 5 years. So if this is about greed and being Christian says something about greed, maybe there is a policy issue there. There is more than sexual issues.

In many ways the Evangelicals are the anti-immigrant coalition, and there it's a question of the 'sanctity' of the laws. The legality of crossing the border illegally. How do say that's a good thing? Where's a governing coalition for the GOP, with guns and immigrants and Evangelicals and tax cutters, etc? Saying Huck is media savvy is maybe saying it's the media that matters most? Where do you guys work? If Huckabee has something to say, he'd better say it soon or he will be buried by the media and the ad blitzes.

Healthcare - His plan leaves 15 million uninsured because Clinton said it does and you believe anything she says without doing your own research.

Driver's Licenses - He supports it because he thinks it is in the best interest of public safety. Lapel Pin - He already said that he doesn't feel that you have to wear it to be patriotic. Only people without sound argumentation skills, such as yourself, use this as an argument against his patriotism. Nevermind the fact that he wants to be President to improve our country. It wasn't just a matter of saying "gee, Hill's got some strange laughter"...people were using the way she laughs to argue that she is fake, that she is losing control, etc. So the question remains - why is it okay to make Hillary's insignificant behavior a topic of conversation but not Obama's "insignificant" behavior?

And by the way, not everyone considers his behavior insignificant. I know several people who will not vote for him because he won't wear a flag pin, because they do think it represents a lack of patriotism on his part. I was watching Joe Scarb's show(MSNBC) this morning when Zogby was on the phone(responding to Mark Penn-HRC's guy that dismissed Zogby's latest poll).
The gist of what Zogby said was:
He has been using online polling for a years now(says phone calls are not as reliable as before). He polls by using the email list that he has on file. He got 17 out of 18 results correct in the 2006 election. Zogby's #1 request for his polls results comes from the Clintons over the years. The Gallup poll showing her ahead of GOP(that was widely reported this week) is actually about 2 weeks old.
Her campaign is in panic mode.

The answer is simple J Merle. A President should do what he/she feels is right, regardless of polls. That's one of Hillary's biggest problems, her positions are too poll driven. Remember the $5,000 baby bonds to go towards a new home or college tuition? Hillary dropped it like a hot potato(I would have said a chinese dishwasher donation, but she doesn't drop those).

It's said that most politcians stick their fingers in the wind to gauge what direction the wind is blowing, they then go in that direction. Great leaders change the direction of the wind.

Some politcians follow polls and end up doing a great good job i.e. Bill Clinton

Not so, J. It wasn't just a matter of saying "gee, Hill's got some strange laughter"...people were using the way she laughs to argue that she is fake, that she is losing control, etc. So the question remains - why is it okay to make Hillary's insignificant behavior a topic of conversation but not Obama's "insignificant" behavior?

And by the way, not everyone considers his behavior insignificant. I know several people who will not vote for him because he won't wear a flag pin, because they do think it represents a lack of patriotism on his part. Whether these folks are unenlightened or not, they exist and they will have to be answered at some point. Even the unenlightened get to vote.

That is true, it was used as hit on her personality. But I still don't think it is on the same level of the questioning of one's patriotism. That said, I really can't answer your question because I think all of that stuff is a waste of time. I don't know how people differentiate between the insignificance. My best guess is that is has a lot to do with their pre-held bias.

Also, I've been conversing with J.Merle this morning, and he is someone who is offended by Obama's not wearing the pin. Of course they are out there. I'm sure a significant portion of society picks a candidate based on one issue and one issue only (although, some may pick a candidate and still not actually go vote). It makes me a little sad that people would ignore reality and listen to what "experts" have to say about someone's patriotism or their laugh. But nevertheless, they are out there, as you said. My only hope is that they will stay home on election day, and that those who will go vote will not be strong enough in number to alter the results of the election.

We constantly see personal attacks against The Clintons, which are usually nothing more than spurious allegations based on "word of mouth" from angry NEO-CONS who couldn't "get" Bill Clinton when he was in office.
The media never made a big deal about Obama's relationship with Antoin Rezko, though.
The story wasn't repeated adnauseum. In fact, if you didn't look it up, you wouldn't know anything about it.
That Obama commented about this once, isn't enough. He needs to explain how someone running for President could have such a close, personal relationship with someone who's under indictement for political racketeering.
What makes Obama so special that he doesn't get asked the tough questions about HIS personal life...and who is HE (or his supporters) to personally attack and defame Hillary based on specious political rhetoric?

It was used to question her competence, her integrity and pretty much everything about her. Not that any of that was a big departure from what Hillary has faced for the past 15+ years. The clothes she wears, the way she stands, when and how loudly she claps, her laughter - pundits seem to think all of this is fair game, and all of these are insights into Hillary's capabilities as president.

I agree with you that it is nonsense, but let's be even-handed about it. The same people who cry foul when Obama is questioned about anything are the same people who demand answers for every breath Hillary takes.

I think Obama is just dandy. I don't think he walks on water. The problem with many Obama supporters that I have seen here is that they have elevated him to incredible heights that they cannot admit he has flaws like anyone else. They cannot admit any failings whatsoever on his part. They try to defend his statement that he gained valuable understanding of other civilizations when he was living overseas at the ripe old age of 8...and in the same breath, slam Hillary for claiming foreign policy experience from her dozens of meetings with foreign leaders while she was First Lady.

I'm not pointing any fingers at you, J, as you seem to be one of the reasonable ones. Just making a point, one that will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears (or blind eyes, as the case may be).

Google 'rezko'(it is an old claim that has been looked into by many media outlets). This story has been out there for over a year now. Various newspapers have reported on it. You also failed to mention the part about Rezko selling some of his property line to Obama AFTER the deal had been consumated, and the fact that Obama has had a long standing relationship with Rezko that goes back several years.

There is AT LEAST one case of an internship granted by Obama to the son of Joseph Aramanda, a Rezko business associate who was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal corruption case against Rezko. Aramanda has contributed $11,500 to Obama since 2000.
There IS a story behind this that's not being reported. We already have a "president" who's protected by the media....we sure as hell don't need another one.

Oh I see,.....so the ones who couldn't be tracked down were all illegal donors, and the ones who could be were all pressured to give. Never mind the fact that it says the word "SOME" in both instances. It sounds as if the authors take a lot of artistic license with the word "SOME." By the way are YOU ILLITERATE? I also asked if the authors of the article you quoted turned any of their information over to the justice department, or if this situation is being investigated by ANY law enforcement agency at any level.
Since you conveniently, and rather selectively chose to ignore THAT portion of my post I'll answer both questions for you;

Let me clarify something.
I didn't say the article was racist.
I said YOU are racist for saying that Chinese Americans can't think for themselves and shouldn't be allowed donate to Hillary's campaign. Anyway you slice it, that's what you said!

That's not even CLOSE to what I said.
I said that Obama parrots the 1990's Neo-Con rhetoric ABOUT the Clintons.....and he does exactly that! The fact that the things he says come right out of the Republican Playbook makes perfect sense.

Every single Obama supporter says the EXACT SAME THING! "If you don't support Obama, you're not thinking for yourself."
If THAT isn't a talking point, I don't know what is!
In other words, we're not allowed to support who we please, because if it isnt Obama we're not thinking for oursleves.
Certain ethnic groups, such as Oriental Immigrants only give money to Hillary because they are illegal donors, and because they were forced to do it. (Of course, if they were "thinking for themselves" they would have given that money to Obama.)
When people applauded for Hillary and boo'ed Edwards and Obama at the last debate, it wasn't because they were genuine supporters....it was because they were "plants" in the crowd. (Only people who applaud Obama are "thinking for themselves.")
What are you going to say when Hillary wins the nomination......that the voters really didn't vote for her, they were "planted" voters? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
There seems to be a common theme here among every Obama supporter I have contact with on this board.
They claim that anyone who supports Hillary is a plant who uses talking points, and isn't thinking for themself.
But, every Obama supporter says THE EXACT SAME THING!
So ah, WHO's "planted?"...and WHO's using "talking points?"
You need to take a good long, hard look in the mirror.

First of all, yesterday, I was defending Edwards. You either have a bad memory or you're getting me confused with someone else.

Secondly, I never said that because someone is a Chinese immigrant they can't support Hillary. I said that it's strange that dishwashers, waiters, and busboys have thousands of dollards sitting around to donate to anyone. You're taking one thing and turning it into something else.....kinda like the Reps do.

Thirdly....you obviously don't know what a talking point is. I tried to explain it to you yesterday but you obviously don't get it.

Speaking of not answering questions...you never answered mine. Since you think that politicians should make all decisions based on polls:

Do you think that JFK shouldn't have pushed a civil rights bill through Congress?
Do you think that LBJ shouldn't have signed it?

Should Truman have been an isolationist?

Was Bush right when he went to war?(the polls showed it was a popular idea at the time)
