It's hard to see how anyone could influence anything without media skills. The real issue is how the GOP blends Evangelicals and Wall Street to form a coalition. The problem is that Wall Street has had three huge scandals, in the past 5 years. So if this is about greed and being Christian says something about greed, maybe there is a policy issue there. There is more than sexual issues.

In many ways the Evangelicals are the anti-immigrant coalition, and there it's a question of the 'sanctity' of the laws. The legality of crossing the border illegally. How do say that's a good thing? Where's a governing coalition for the GOP, with guns and immigrants and Evangelicals and tax cutters, etc? Saying Huck is media savvy is maybe saying it's the media that matters most? Where do you guys work? If Huckabee has something to say, he'd better say it soon or he will be buried by the media and the ad blitzes.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

J. Again people don't think (see yourself).

PAC Funds/Land Deal - You'd have to ask him, as I'm not privy to his campaign inner-workings. Obama gets a D- on this one (If this is really his position, since we never hear it from him directly)

There is no such thing as a "residual support force"....every "troop" in the military is a combat troop.

Obama's plan leaves people uninsured. Hillary's plan MANDATES coverage for everyone. Deal with it.

Regardless of your theory on public safety, 65% of the American People do not want illegal aliens to get driver's licenses. Yet Barrack Obama STILL insists they should. Why should we vote for someone who ignores whath the majority of Americans want?

...oh and I see we're a little sensitive about the Antoin Rezko thing aren't we? Antoin Rezko is an INDICTED political raketeer....he's Obama's friend and the two of them are involved in a joint land deal. I'm sorry you (and Obama, apparently) feel the The American People aren't entitled to an explanation.

Oh and one last thing.....there are a lot of VETERANS out there like myself who are offended by Obama's overt lack of respect for the American Flag. How dare you tell me or anyone else who respects the flag to get a life! There are a lot of men and woman who died for that flag and for what it represents. How dare Obama spit on their memory that way! Why does he hates the very country he wants to be President of?

I've done my research citizen.....you listen to Obama and take whatever he says at face value because the "we hate the clintons" crowd says you should. He uses NEO-CON rhetoric from the 1990's, sings the G.O.P. mantra about the Clintons, divides liberals and Democrats with his hateful, mean spirited pomposity....and when all is said and done we who support Hillary are told that we aren't allowed to have our own thought process or make our own choices. We MUST get in lockstep with YOU and with Obama or we're caving into media pressure.
Sorry.....but that just isn't going to wash.
Stop living in a dreamworld, get your feet planted on the ground and face reality.
Obama isn't going anywhere.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

Hillary Clinton...intelligent...experienced...strong leader.

Vote for Hillary

An UNPAID polical message

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

What exactly is the Hopefund, Mr. Obama?

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

J Merle, Instead of asking insipid questions go her and look:

http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/

http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post_group/ObamaHQ/Cx7J

http://origin.barackobama.com/factcheck/category/

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

This country is based on values and character....who will you vote for to lead the country our ancestors faught and died for???

Can you honestly say the Clintons have values and character?

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

Out of curiosity, why is asking about Obama's lack of lapel pin or not putting his hand over his heart during the national anthem any different than all of the comments about Hillary's laugh?

Oops, I forgot. It's Obama - that's how it is different. We can question every minute detail of Hillary's existence, but how DARE anyone ask questions about Obama.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

J. Merle Stanley, Westchester, NY (Sent Wednesday, November 28, 2007 11:29 AM)

Nobody said raising taxes is a solution, but raising the cap IS a logical option that could be PART of a larger combination of things that could be a solution.

Actually there is such a thing as a residual support force. The DMZ in Korea is one example. They don't do a lot of fighting there.

I noticed that Hillary's healthcare plan doesn't include how she plans on enforcing that mandate that she is so proud of. Can you explain how she will force people who can't afford insurance to buy it?

About 65% of people didn't want that baby bond that Hillary thought was a good idea either. But she still thought it was a good idea didn't she?

I'm not sensitive at all about the Antoin Rezko thing. And last I checked, in America INDICTED is not the same thing as CONVICTED. And I never said we don't deserve an explanation. I'm just not qualified to be the one to give it.

If you are offended because of a bunch of spin about a picture of Obama without his hand over his heart, then you are just a little sensitive. I appreciate your service and the service of all veterans. But wearing that pin doesn't make you patriotic. And not wearing it doesn't make you unpatriotic. Simplifying patriotism into a case of whether or not we wear a pin on our lapel is senseless.

Please point out to me where I require you to be in lockstep with me. I am simply pointing out to you that Obama has answered your questions clearly. Just because you don't like his answers doesn't mean he hasn't answered them. You are free to choose any candidate you want. You accuse Obama of spouting neo-con rhetoric. Take a look at yourself - you say Obama is unpatriotic because he doesn't wear a flag pin. That sounds a lot like Bush rhetoric to me.

I agree that Obama isn't going anywhere. He is staying right where he is: in the thick of the race for the President of the United States. If you don't like him, don't vote for him. It's that simple.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

Disgusted( or should I say disgusting) click here and see the extended forum videos:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post_group/ObamaHQ/Cx7J

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

I'll go out and sing for Hillary.......

People
people who vote for Hillary...
Are the Stupidist peopleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
in the worlddddddddddddddddddd

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

George W. Bill Richardson and Joe Biden are each supported by 4%, and no other Democratic candidate tops 3% (see recent daily numbers).

New data for the Democratic race in Iowa will be released tomorrow. The most recent Rasmussen Reports poling in Iowa shows Clinton, Obama, and Edwards are in a very tight race. Rasmussen Reports is also polling both the Republican and Democratic primaries in New Hampshire at this time. New data will be released this week."

Clinton-40
Obama- 18

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_2008__1/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Rasmussen has Obama polling at his LOWEST point (17-18%) since before Thanksgiving. Why is this? Why hasn't he EVER gotten to 30% in the Rasmussen? Why is he just 5 points in front of Edwards? Now that polls count, despite the medicated claims of the EDP (he's fabricated a,"new", relative who's a mathematician now, and he's previously touted his own expertise in GAME THEORY; To go along with his Ph.D.) to the contrary, EVERY campaign employs a pollster, spends a good portion of their campaign budget on polls and pollsters. Merle, what say ye:

Hillary Clinton is the recipient of large personal donations from a very unlikely source: Busboys, dishwashers and waiters in New York City's Chinatown, some of whom can't be tracked down.

The candidate's unparalleled fundraising success was detailed in a report by Peter Nicholas and Tom Hamburger of the Los Angeles Times

The reporters write that in "scores" of dilapidated restaurants and in some of the poorest Chinese neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, low-level workers are "showering" money on one particular presidential candidate -- Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.

How much? Up to $1,000 and $2,000 contributions by these poor workers are flowing into Clinton's campaign treasury.

At this point in the presidential campaign cycle, Clinton has raised more money than any candidate in history according to Nicholas and Hamburger.

The two reporters have uncovered that Clinton has enlisted the aid of Chinese neighborhood associations, "especially those representing recent immigrants from Fujian province. The organizations, at least one of which is a descendant of Chinatown criminal enterprises that engaged in gambling and human trafficking, exert enormous influence over immigrants. The associations help them with everything from protection against crime to obtaining green cards."

Nicholas and Hamburger write that Clinton's Chinatown donors "felt pressure to give."

They write that Clinton "is also benefiting from Chinese donors' naive notions of what she could do in the White House."

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

Daniel d. Yes, the media did report on the HSU donation during his earlier Illinois senate days which Barack gave away. Google 'rezko'(it is an old claim that has been looked into by many media outlets). This story has been out there for over a year now. Various newspapers have reported on it. Here is a portion of MediaMatters response to Tucker Carlson:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200706150006

quote:
In fact, Rezko's wife purchased a lot adjacent to the house on which the Obamas had successfully bid, reportedly to meet the seller's demand that both properties be sold at once. The Times reported:
People familiar with the transaction said that the sellers did not want to close until that June 15, and that the sale would go through only if someone bought the adjacent lot from them on the same date. Rita Rezko paid $625,000 to outbid others for the lot and later sold the Obamas one-sixth of that land, for $104,500.
The Chicago-Sun Times reported on February 23 that Rita Rezko sold the remainder of the lot to a law firm owned by her husband's business attorney in late 2006. According to the Sun-Times, Rezko's profit from both sales totaled $54,500.

ps..The lot bought by the Obama's was on the up-and-up.

He has responded to it before. Again, GOOGLE is your friend. Worry about your candidates' ethical issues. I am very concerned for my party(Dem) if she and her backers get anywhere near our White House. By the way, I am not a Clinton-hater as you might think. Barack Obama has always stuck with challenging her on the issues(not personal, specious attacks against her).
By the way, based on your last 2 post, J Merle(get help).
First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

"considering the folks in Sudan had Osama and was ready to hand him over to Clinton and he refused makes your argument a little stupid John B."

Jerry, this was confirmed by whom exactly?

To the best of my knowledge this is another lie spread by rightwingers in order to keep the focus off of the fact that Bush did nothing about Bin Laden or Al Quaeda.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

J:

No, you have not given that impression. I was venting. I vent a lot. :)

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

J. Anyway you slice it, that's what you said!

".....Obama uses Rep language from the 90's??? Obama's main point of contention is that he can unite the country and not be as divisive as Hillary. Are you telling me that during the 90's, Reps. were going around telling everyone what a better person Obama is than Hillary?? That makes no sense. ".....

That's not even CLOSE to what I said.
I said that Obama parrots the 1990's Neo-Con rhetoric ABOUT the Clintons.....and he does exactly that! The fact that the things he says come right out of the Republican Playbook makes perfect sense.

".....As far as I'm concerned, Hillary used that line in the last debate, since every post you write attacking Obama uses the same line, I can only assume that you don't think for yourself, and you just wait to hear what Hillary says and then repeat it.".....

Every single Obama supporter says the EXACT SAME THING! "If you don't support Obama, you're not thinking for yourself."
If THAT isn't a talking point, I don't know what is!
In other words, we're not allowed to support who we please, because if it isnt Obama we're not thinking for oursleves.
Certain ethnic groups, such as Oriental Immigrants only give money to Hillary because they are illegal donors, and because they were forced to do it. (Of course, if they were "thinking for themselves" they would have given that money to Obama.)
When people applauded for Hillary and boo'ed Edwards and Obama at the last debate, it wasn't because they were genuine supporters....it was because they were "plants" in the crowd. (Only people who applaud Obama are "thinking for themselves.")
What are you going to say when Hillary wins the nomination......that the voters really didn't vote for her, they were "planted" voters? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
There seems to be a common theme here among every Obama supporter I have contact with on this board.
They claim that anyone who supports Hillary is a plant who uses talking points, and isn't thinking for themself.
But, every Obama supporter says THE EXACT SAME THING!
So ah, WHO's "planted?"...and WHO's using "talking points?"
You need to take a good long, hard look in the mirror.
Edwards 08 my BUTT.....yesterday you were an Obama supporter.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

Memo to Mr. Obama: Is it yes or no ?

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

"considering the folks in Sudan had Osama and was ready to hand him over to Clinton" Tell it to the 9/11 Commission, jerry. They disagree that statement.

First thoughts: It's time to YouTube

First of all, yesterday, I was defending Edwards. You either have a bad memory or you're getting me confused with someone else.

Secondly, I never said that because someone is a Chinese immigrant they can't support Hillary. I said that it's strange that dishwashers, waiters, and busboys have thousands of dollards sitting around to donate to anyone. You're taking one thing and turning it into something else.....kinda like the Reps do.

Thirdly....you obviously don't know what a talking point is. I tried to explain it to you yesterday but you obviously don't get it.

Speaking of not answering questions...you never answered mine. Since you think that politicians should make all decisions based on polls:

Do you think that JFK shouldn't have pushed a civil rights bill through Congress?
Do you think that LBJ shouldn't have signed it?

Should Truman have been an isolationist?

Was Bush right when he went to war?(the polls showed it was a popular idea at the time)
