McCain is right that a connection to Clinton's campaign should have been revealed, the man did not merely submit a video, he was "in the audience", if CNN didn't know, it should have known. If CNN did know and choose not to disclose, it suffers from a lack of ethical standards.

I wouldn't vote for any of the Republicans, but when CNN fails to disclose, either because of questionable ethical standards, or laziness, that plays into the conservative belief that the media is left wing!

As far as I'm concerned any "media bias" which favors the Democratic Party makes up for FAUX Moise's biased and INNACURATE coverage of political events, and the news in general. It makes up for 'round the clock rhetoric and propaganda from hate-speak radio announcers like Limbaugh, and Hannity.

I thought the YouTube debates have been great and found them quite informative. I remember the first one with the Dems and recall those questions coming from conservatives and never thought twice about? For once, I agree with the GOPers here. That debate was a complete sham that focused on cliche/stereotype questions about the GOP--not the great issues of our time. As much as I disagree with the other side on MOST issues, forcing them to again and again talk about biblical literalism and gays in the military is a joke and a disservice to the electorate. Coming on the heels of the pro-Hillary ridiculousness of the recent CNN Dem debate (where 90% of the crowd were here supporters and she was not pressed on ANYTHING), CNN has lost ALL CREDIBILITY as a serious news network in my opinion. They actually ran a story about the effects of booing during these last two debates, like it was some great trend or something. No, it turn the debates into some cock-eyed comedy skit. If you're told before the debate that the questions will be from undecided Republicans or independents but in fact they are from decided Democrats, it strikes me as being inappropriate. With questions from undecided Republicans, one would not expect (and would be blind-sided with) "loaded" questions designed to make you look stupid or evil regardless of how you answer--along the lines of " How many times did you beat your wife this year". One example of a question during the debate that fit this template was "Why don't you think our military people are not professional enough to accept open homosexuals". If you respond in a negative way, then you are guilty of accusing the troops of not being professional. If you agree that the troops are professional, then you are giving credence to the assumption underlying the question that "professionalism" requires acceptance of open homosexuality in the armed forces. The appropriate question in this area should have been "Do you support the "don't ask don't tell" policy regarding honsexuals in the military? It is evident that a great deal of thought went into framing the gay-in-the-military question and other questions to try to make the candidates look bad no matter what they said. Unfortuntely, the candidates did not grasp they were being hoodwinked and tried to respond in good faith to questions asked in bad faith. Whenever this happens, whether in politics, in school, or in life in general, it is usually unproductive and can easily give the wrong impression of the person answering the question. It is surprising that the candidates, who after all live in the world of politics and deal constantly with questions by the press and by opponents which are not always in good faith, did not pick up on this and respond with something like this: "I don't agree with the premises or any implications inherent in this question but here are my views on this general subject". I would imagine they didn't respond this way because, in addition to being off balance about the background of the questioner, the candidates were trying to abide by the rules of the debate (which by the way is not a good idea in these situations) to answer all questions and also did not want to appear evasive to the questioner and to the viewers--who also were misled by assuming the questions were asked in good faith.

Seems to me the Middle East is even more unstable than before we invaded Iraq, al Qaeda is stronger and re-grouping in Afhganistan, Pakistan is about to fall apart, we don't have control of our borders (we don't know whose coming in),etc. If you had done any research as you say you have done, than you would realize that Iraq was a strategic play by the neo-con administration, planned well in advance of 9/11, to rangle control of middle eastern assets (oil). The "War On Terror" is just a convenient tag line akin to red meat, to keep the masses in line and fearful while the powers play their game. Haven't you noticed how the ball moves....weapons of mass destruction, freedom for the Iraqis, Sadamm is a bad man, build up a functioning government, elections, or when all else didn't play...just because. The problem with the debate wasn't that liberal leaning people asked questions of the Republican candidates. That's all fair in my opinion, and in fact, I would like to hear how they answer. I am surprised that those saying Repubs should have to answer ALL questions had anything to say about Tim Russert asking Hillary about her stance on issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. Same thing, huh. And we all saw how she cried "no fair." That's the issue, the same standards need to apply to both parties, more accurately, all candidates. This two-party thing is just a devisive sham anyway.

I've looked at both parties' debates and have to say I think Ron Paul is the way to go. He's moderate, honest and has a good track record. Even if you don't agree with him on everything, at least you know what his stance is -- he doesn't just tell you want you want to hear which is what most of them do.

To all you republicans that think you want Huckabee -- be aware he is pro-amnesty so be sure you agree with him there. THAT is a very important issue of our day which will have profound long-term effects on our nation.

As for Hillary being a socialist -- come on, she is. "It takes a Village" is just another term for 'you can't do it yourself, you need us to dictate to you how to do it.' And socialized healthcare is a debacle in most countries. Do you really want to wait 6 months for surgery when you're diagnosed with cancer? That's what I've heard about Canadian socialized healthcare. How about Ron Paul's suggestion of helping small businesses to band together to get private health care instead.

And for goodness sake, vote for the issues that are the most important -- not just your little personal pet peeves. Your children and their children are going to have to live with what we do now.

It would be wrong to exclude the general's legitimate question on the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. If he is on the Clinton payroll, they should have disclosed the fact, but it's not grounds to prevent him from asking.

In all fairness, the primaries are about the parties deciding which candidates will represent them in the general election. As such, it makes sense for the questions in debates to represent concerns and issues within the party. That is why it doesn't make sense to field questions from other partisans.

That being said, I think the question does in fact represent a growing concern in the GOP which the party has been slow to address: the many faithful GOP members who are themselves gay and desire a fair shake within the party.

I understand the desire to have republican candidates field questions from republican voters during the primary season. The problem with that approach, however, is that a third of the electorate is independent. In addition, many voters don't vote straight ticket and cross party lines often in search of the best candidate (In 2000 for example, I caucused for John McCain (R), but voted for Al Gore (D) in the general election when McCain failed to win the Republican party's nomination.) Shouldn't these undecideds, cross-overs and independents have access to the candidates during the primary process so they can figure out which primary to participate in and which candidate to support in the general election? In Iowa, voters can change party affiliations the night of the caucus.

Now I grant you, if someone is working for another candidate's campaign, they really shouldn't be asking questions at another's debate -- or if they do, there should be, at a minimum, disclosure of that fact. But I see no problem in a Republican YouTube debate format of allowing independents or undecided voters or even registered democrats to ask questions so long as they are not affiliated with a campaign.

Look folks it’s not the point that a democrat asked the question. It’s the fact that CNN did not vet the person. They paid for this person to ask the question, they flew them to the event and put them in a hotel and did not represent them for who they really were. They deceived the candidates and more importantly they deceived us. Do you really think this was an oversight not one but four different questioners misrepresented their In fact why are we asking softball questions to any of these candidates’? We need to know about the rapid decline of our dollar. Today $1.00 buys you .50eu today. It’s possible that 6 million people could lose their homes in the next 3 years. We have 20 million illegal aliens in this country, many on welfare, social security, destroying our health care system, using or education system and driving down the annual wages of our hard working legal citizens. I love immigrants, I am one of them, but I'm legal. Our elected officials refuse to fix the immigration problem and comprehensive reform is not the answer. Truth be told they don’t want to fix the problem because these politicians have other plans and no one is asking and their not talking about the security and prosperity agreement, the effects of NAFA or CAFTA, nor are they talking about the collapse of our dollar and the plans to create the Amero. Were looking at $100 dollar a barrel oil our 56 trillion dollar dept. Wake up everyone and instead of asking about gays in the military or other softballs, you better wake up and read do some research and start getting mad. The politicians got theirs to hell with the rest of us. Do some investigation because you’re not going to get it from CNN "that’s now more obvious than ever", nor MSNBC or Fox “Fair and Balanced” my behind, or any other cable news. The News is no longer hard hitting nor investigative. All we see now is hours of who got killed today, 6 second sound bites serving what ever bias they represent. How about who named the teddy bear Mohamed or 24/7 Anna or Britney. Wake up people democrats and republicans need to see the light and lets get together and fix this before its to late. Throw the bums out, no more career politicians no more dynasty’s. Really 16 years of Bushes and possibly 16 of Clintons. Is this a good thing? Think about it. By the way I’m a conservative Independent that is so sick of this R vs. D. We got to get it together before it’s too late
