Bloomberg may be looking at who to endorse and what each candidate is like in order to decide if to run. Say, he is not impressed with and feels uncomfortable about one person who gets the nomination - that may sway his decision of whether to run.

Bloomberg's endorsement, if he made one of the democrat candidates, would be imprortant to me, because Bloomberg's judgment, as exemplified by how well he's done as NYC Mayor [way better that Rudy btw], consequently carries a lot of weight for me. As a Hillary supporter, I would be swayed to the Obama camp should Bloomberg endorse him.

I mean, we had a party in which we dressed up as indians and officially as a country switched to coffee. *Sarcasm--How much more unAmerican can this guy get? Tune in next week for the rice vs. noodles story. I actually take the position that all this information is relevant for the media to spit out, and the voters can decide what they care about.

And thanks to that NPR story awhile back about Clinton and the tip, which I still don't know what to make of it, we get to hear about the tip in every restaurant. I would laugh if a campaign left 10% citing poor service. Does any have the stones?

Please, please, please do keep us informed with whom Obama, Edwards, or Clinton have breakfast each morning ...that's so important...but thank you so much, so much, for letting us know what they ate, drank, and how much salt...for sure let us know the cost and by all means tell us the amount left for a tip.

It will be a reason to get up each day! Can't wait.

As an attorney who worked his way through school in the service industry, the fact that Obama is generous while tipping makes him more appealing, not less. Preferring tea to coffee is actually a foreign policy asset, in an odd way; if you don't think so, you don't realize how integral drinking tea is to sitting down with somebody and talking to them in so many cultures around the world, from Latin America to Islamic nations. (Personally, I can live without tea and coffee, but that's besides the point.)

What I want to know is what the hell gives Bloomberg the nerve to ever allow ANYONE to pick up a twenty dollar check. If I were ever fortunate enough to be a billionaire, I certainly wouldn't be that much of a jerk. Doesn't anyone else find this aspect of the story utterly ridiculous?

Bloomberg and Obama are setting up a 3rd party candidacy. These two would make Ross Perot look like a gnat on an elephants behind. 3rd parties never win though, so who would it favor? My bet is the Democrats are a lot more worried today then the Republicans. There are a lot of Northeast liberals, and liberals in general, on the Democratic side, This will further clutter that field.

Classless as usual with your comments. I live on Long Island. I am very familiar with NY during Rudy and NY During Bloomberg. I know very well how and why Bloomberg was elected. He was not popular though for his first year. It wasn't until the middle of his first term that we realized how much we liked Mike, and despised Rudy, and he was handedly re-elected to his current 2d [and unfortunately last] term. I'd liked to know more about the breakfast itself. How were the eggs prepared? Was the toast buttered? Does Bloomberg prefer strawberry jam to Smucker's grape jelly?

It's astounding what passes for substantive political news and analysis at MSNBC. Was it really necessary to add to Obama's multitude of inane First Read stories while Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich pieces combined haven't broken into the double digits. This is quintessential establishment media.

Just keep up the "good work" MSNBC with your effective blackout on the candidates of merit and sincerity - like Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, and Tom Tancredo.
