I don't know how much time Governor Romney has spent in Arkansas, but I grew up and spent most of my life there. As a result, I know that Governor Huckabee's predecessors passed on to him an underfunded and underperforming state government.

The only way to elevate the status of our great state was through the responsible raising of new funds and the exercise of fiscal restraint in the spending of those funds. The average Arkansan (Democrats and Republicans alike) has a better standard of living as a result of Governor Huckabee's efforts.

The bottom line is that fiscal restructuring results in the creation of new taxes and the elimination of others. In every situation, there is a cost-benefit analysis to taxation. Unfortunately, Arkansas wasn't keeping pace with the development of other states, and Mike Huckabee found a way to make improvements. He should be applauded for his efforts, not criticized.

Taxes pay for our safety(police, firemen,defense and prosecuting attorneys) they pay for our roads and bridges stop signs, restrooms on our highways, schools, etc. The no tax crowd would have us as a third world country, I know there is waste, money breeds watse without the farmer watching the chickens, that is our job, get used to it and start getting involved. Did Mitt do anything to make his state a better place for the people who counted on him, I'm sure Mr. Huckabee did some good things with the new revenue. What did Mitt Do?

I've listened to a LOT of speeches by Huckabee before I came to support him. He's another Reagan. He's witty, calm, steadfast and honest - yet fast on his feet with "gotcha" questions put out by supposedly "undecided" voters - answering questions with love and understanding, not hate.

So of course it scares Romney....

The best part about Huckabee is his honesty, integrity and true conservative roots. He lays out his beliefs and stands on the issues and refuses to waver when speaking to different groups. He is the only true conservative in the field, both socially and fiscally, and is a person who can truly galvanize the Republican base. He is someone we conservatives have been missing for quite some time now.

I don't see why there isn't more press about why liberals would rather face ANYONE but Dr. Ron Paul. Much as we'd like politics to be positive, it is in fact ruled almost entirely by negatives. For instance, what's the biggest negative the Republican Party is facing in 2008? Iraq - a staggering 70% of people favor IMMEDIATE withdrawl from Iraq. Who is the only candidate that doesn't have that negative? Dr. Paul, who advocates using those trillions of dollars to secure our border (perhaps against Saudis who were 20 of the 24 terrorists in 9/11) and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure which is far more worrying than the loss of Social Security. Hm, full employment, withdrawl from Iraq and a huge boost to our economy from rebuilding our infrastructure - what Democrat wants to run against that. Hence the behavior of known liberal biased network CNN, who wants us to nominate either Guiliani or Romney - both of whose negatives are so high the copy practically writes itself!

For those who can't understand why Obama and huckeybe are so well liked I have a suggestion. Put your tv on cspan for 2 hours per day, try to keep from gaging and watch your elected democrat or republican congress person show you day after day that what's best for America always come's second to their political party and 3rd to their lobyist. We the american voter do the same thing election, we allow the politicians, the press to lie, distort and spin the facts and for you young voters as long as you allow these old men and women to make decissions that will affect your and your childens future it will only get worse and not better.
