John Edwards is the right person for the people. It just strikes me odd that when the polls in Iowa show a canidate leading or in a statistical tie with Hillary in the morning that by afternoon additional polls come out with the Headline that Hillary is leading in NH and SC. Does the media really think the american public is stupid. I don't know about you but the Clinton spin machine is working overtime.

The main stream media would really like to discount Edwards-consider this: Edwards got the non binding endorsement of the Iowa caucus goers-10,000 strong, and in a race this close, can easily be the definitive criteria for him to win..additionally, he is the majority second choice for those who have picked a candidate, and the way Iowa caucuses work, this becomes very important
But to me, the primary question is: who is the most electable of the Democrats in the general election? Hillary is too divisive for the general populace=my first choice is Biden, who has the experience and would win over (opinion only) more Republicans and moderate, conservative Independents. I don't think he can get high enough numbers to pull it off, so I think Edwards is the most electable..
An Edwards/Biden ticket would be AWESOME!!

Wouldn't it be great to have a President who has actually worked for minimum wage in the White House again? I sure am ready for it, John Edwards is the only candidate who pulled himself up and worked his way to financial good fortune - and I was raised that is the American Dream, so lets get to work on that Dream Ticket - with Edwards at the top.
I'm pretty sick and tired of already rich folks controlling everything, they are selfish and greedy.

I wonder why this is "controversial"? Who is/was stopping the other candidates from doing the same thing? This is a completely legal practice that the campaign is doing OPENLY, not in secret. All this whining and moaning about a few college students who will not get to vote at home if they don't vote at school seems a little overwrought to me.

Most federally elected officials in Iowa (and democratic Governors) refrain from endorsing in the caucus. Often their spouse will endorse, but not the elected official. Harkin was supporting Dean behind the scenes in 2003, and would have preferred to remain behind the scenes, but after the capture of Saddam, and "good news in Iraq", and shrinking internal campaign polling, Sen. Harkin officially endorsed Dean, when Dean received 18% of the vote it was politically embarrassing for Harkin.

Congressman Braley is a close friend of Edwards. He was very active in his 04 campaign. Those who know Bruce knew he was supporting Edwards, and assumed at some point he'd officially endorse him.

It will never happen Biden won't be anyone's VP. Also the sensible priorities endorsement was a flop. The pledges were to support a candidate committed to reducing the defense budget. Biden was the only candidate (other than Kucinich) with a track record of voting to reduce Defense waste. Edwards had a very pro defense pork voting record. Sensible Priorities endorsed based upon perceived Iowa caucus viability (based upon statistically invalid polling), and not what candidate had the track record that was consistent with their goals, or even based on who had committed to their goals on the campaign.
