No matter what you think of his politics, you have to admit that at least Mike Huckabee is running a relatively clean and optimistic campaign. He seems to be demonstrating right now that it is actually more benefitial to stress one's good attributes, rather than an opponenents weak spots.

All of the attacks on Huckabee are ridiculous. Just do a little research. Michael Medved found out that Huckabee's tax record is better than Mitt Romney's.

On immigration Huckabee wants to secure the border, opposes amnesty and sanctuary cities, as well as strict punishments for employers of illegal immigrants.

Huck acting high and mighty with this zinger "Most of us were in church, he was cranking out press releases". Yet I was shocked to learn that he does not even observe the Sabbath except to attend church. Right after church, on a particular Sunday where he preached the sermon, he goes on a hunting excursion. That, my friends, is the pot calling the kettle black. So Mike's feigning of Sabbath observance while ridiculing non-observers is the height of hypocrisy.

Huckabee is too busy responding to all the fallacious charges, coming from the jealous republican establishment (, George Will, Novack, Club for Greed etc..) that are piling on him. He does not have a huge paid staff like the others..he is virtually running a one man campaign. I will help defend him with the truth to one of your ongoing critiscm's. It just goes to show how much ingnorance there is out there and why the choice to terminate a pregnancy must be made by the woman, her family and her physician. Until you've been in the agonizing position of having to make that decision, keep your mouth shut because you have no right to an opinion.

As Governor, Huckabee argued for and won the release of a prisoner with a history of serial rape. That prisoner upon his release subsequently raped and killed two more women before he was recaptured. Governor Huckabee is not fit to be president

I think we're all tired of "hit" pieces...Just tell me what you intend to do as president and leave the other guy alone to his own merits....That's what Huckabee is doing. His poll numbers keep rising and the "hit" men just don't have a clue about why they keep going down in the polls.

Huckabee is about far more than kids, kirk & kitchen. Independents and cross-over Democrats know that appointing strict constructionist justices will not overturn Roe V Wade in any meaningful way, or the government risks making potential criminals out of a majority of the population.

What Huckaby stands for with these voters is integrity, change, and the ability to work with the opposition to actually get something done. Americans are sick of gridlock, and, surprisingly enough "Nice Counts!"

With all due respect, I am from Arkansas and was born here and still living here! Am a Southern Baptist
and know all too much about Huckabee. Integrity, change and the ability to work with the opposition
do not describe him. If you always agree with him, you might be able to work near him....maybe! Just because he is a Baptist minister does in no way mean
he is above board. Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing! He's doing his best to be "the perfect little southern Baptist" and some of you are being fooled.....all this reminds me of is: Jimmy Carter and oh boy, we all gotta hope that never happens again in this country.

Um, his little speech was a by hypocritical, don't you think? He wants a nice, friendly campaign, but then he zings Thompson with the church comment in the same sentence?

The more he does this, the more fake and arrogant he seems. A week ago, I was really considering him. The last few days have started me really doubting his sincerity. He's starting to look really pathetic. He took the lead in Iowa- good for him. So now his way to keep it is to make attacks subtly so that maybe they will be overlooked because of other candidates more direct comments? Nice try, but the voting public is not (for the most part) that stupid.

Laurie, my dear, if you have had an abortion please go repent for your sin of murdering. There is no good reason to get one. I happen to know someone who was raped and is pregnant and yet she still knows that it would be wrong to kill the child. I applaud Huckabee on his pro-life stance there. Secondly, get your facts straight before you start talking about the rapist he let out. And PLEASE don't tell me that he isn't fit to be president because most people aren't.

Evelyn, I understand you are from Arkansas, however that doesn't give you the right to bash Huckabee either. Jimmy Carter might not have been the best president, but he certainly wasn't the worst. And I think it would be fine for Huckabee to follow in his example. No one is perfect.

I am amazed at how many people voice their opposition by parroting unfounded accusations. Why don't you all do a little research. Try to get more than one side of the story before acting so outraged. Does the woman who accused Huckabee of violating the Sabbath by hunting expect him to stay home wearing a hair shirt and scourge himself? Did the woman who said Huck was unfit to be president check into the circumstances of that parole? Does she know it was a Democratic parole board appointed by previous Democratic govenors, and that Arkansas govenors do not parole or control the actions of the parole board? Do a little checking before opening your mouths.
