Almost even, except in a few areas

The one that got me was.....

Obama wants to give the better teachers better pay....
Hillary just wants merit pay for everyone, regardless of whether they are good or not....

The downside to Obama's plan is that by the time all the bad teachers are weeded out, you'd end up with 100 kids to a classroom until more are trained, correctly, and placed across the country.

The NEA has not endorsed any candidate. The New Hampshire chapter has endorsed candidates as have many other state chapters. Illinois' chapter endorsed Obama as a favorite son. New York's chapter endorsed Hillary. Each state makes that decision. The National Education Association has not endorsed any candidate in the primaries. Merit pay for teachers is a hot button issue. If the only measure of a teacher's ability is the test scores of their students, who will choose to teach students who don't do well on tests-learning disabled, minorities, and other kids with special needs? Those kids need teachers the most!

My dream ticket is Huckabee/Paul. Huckabee has the charisma to win and can appeal to moderates. Ron Paul has the best ideas, but is too conservative for most. His knowledge and experience would make him an excellent Vice President.

Religious values should be allowed to flourish on their own, not be incorporated into government policy. Ron Paul is the only candidate who will get government out of the way so that religious organizations can do more. He is also the only candidate who will rein in spending and the semi-dictatorship powers of the executive. Still, Huckabee strikes me as authentic and does not stray from American values nearly as far as Guiliani/Clinton. I could vote for him in November if he wins the nomination, so long as he doesn't pick a liberal for his running mate.

First of all, Clinton has not made it successfully through any primary, just yet, so it is presumptuous to assume that she will be our next president.

Second, with the inability of Clinton to ever take a public stand on anything controversial, especially after her vote in favor of the war, to win the nomination she will need to be more than just an intelligent woman. She will need to actually to meet and address the needs of the left wing of the Democratic Party. Without that, it will be a tough battle. Her "hawkishness" and "Bush-lite" appearance, whether correct or not, will have to change and move to the left.

BTW, if Clinton makes it to November, I will support her. However, she needs to come clean on her positions and not waffle in the middle. She can win many votes and lose none if she were to be more forthright, take the high road and be less cold and calculating.

What message is that sending to young american woman today? What that boys will be boys! Mike Huckabee appeals to and has the attention of a broad sector of the U.S. voters. He is a frontrunner, so now many are trying to discredit him. However, distorting the truth of his actions as governor will not work. (Taxes were not raised by the Gov. but by Ark. voters who voted to raise gas taxes, etc.) Hah! The folks who actually go out and vote know how to read! I'm happy that some of the NH NEA folks have stood up for their candidate of choice - Mike Huckabee. He is a friend of education and a friend of the people. I know Mike Huckabee to be a servant leader who is not running for himself but for our country. What's bugging most who posted here is that Mike does have broad and increasingly bi-partisan appeal. Why? Because he's making sense.

Huckabee claims on air last night that it was the courts that forced him into a net 500 million dollar tax hike to spend on education. I did the research and education did improve in ARK over the past 10 years assuming the tests aren't rigged. So I guess Huck has to be told what to do. He can't take credit for raising education standards because the court forced him to do it, so he says.
