He will breakthrough in January based on how people view his candidacy as pulling ALL Americans together to grapple with our mutual challenges outside of the Red State / Blue State or Left / Right dynamic. Obama's life experience has given him this key insight, and it is the experience that really matters. This is the main reason he will win the Democratic Nomination and then win in a landslide in November 08. And he'll have a mandate for change in a number of key areas, something we haven't given our recent Presidents. Most importantly, it is something we want to give to the right candidate who we view as honest, forthright and capable.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Personally, I am most sick of the misrepresentation of Hillarious Clinton's & all of these Democratic frontrunners positions on Healthcare. it seems that numbers are more important to them than quality of care... This is because, very simply, they are looking at the wrong numbers. While "universal coverage" indeed should be a goal, it should rather be the goal of the government to control & regulate the price of healthcare to all Americans... That can ONLY be done with a form of, (hold your breath, now, Republifascists,) Socialized Medical Care. Otherwise, costs just keep going up, both to the actual American consumer, & to the business' which are forced to provide them, and money keeps flowing into the pockets (at even greater rates, if you might believe this) than ms. clinton might like to admit...

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

The SC event today is going to be huge! It is beginning to take on a carnival-like atmosphere. The weather is perfect, the people are hyped, the news media is all over it and by all accounts the turnout is going to be tremendous! This is great news for the Obama campaign and great news for America.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

-----CLINTON SLEEZE FATIGUE WILL INVIGORATE GOP, DISPIRIT DEMOCRATS AND SINK DEMOCRATIC TICKET-----

-----EDWARDS/RICHARDSON TO WIN-----

It is possible that Senator Clinton is the best candidate. However, even though many may like the policies that Senator Clinton proposes, they should also consider her record, just as Senator Clinton insists.
.
The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where assaulting, torturing and murdering people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and to protect the citizenry.
.
Instead, they made a deal with the criminal gang stalker protection rackets to leave them alone and to consequently abandon the citizenry.
.
Do we want a President who sells out the citizenry for votes?
.
Do we want a President who sends a "crime does pay" message to society?
.
Would you vote for a President who signed nonaggression deals with the KKKlan or the Nazi party? You do a very good job explaining this and I really believe you provide some of the best commentary on the current political scene. I'm a dem through and through, but Obama is so inspiring to me. I spent some time in Germany, and it is so sad to see that they want to believe in an America that is a leader once again. Wherever we went, the story was the same. They said they love the Americans, but they don't love our politics right now - they all said they are able to separate the two. I believe Obama can vastly improve our standing in the International community, and for that he has my vote!

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

i am looking at the whites in SC. many would mistake it for whites not supporting a black man. I don't think this is true. I believe the whites are looking more for experience and national security than change in that state.
The South is much more conservative and more military and national security than any other region.
Whites there probably think Obama is inexperienced. and they have this pounded into their belief on him by Clinton and the media. Many are not aware that Obama has more experience than clinton. 11 years in elected office vs. her 7.
I never thought the election was about race or gender. Maybe alittle in that women would break for HRC. But, it is simply not that big a deal for people. and for those who it is, they tend to be Bush republicans.
I remember at Obama's announcement standing in the freezing cold and agreeing with him that it is generational and it's time to pass the torch. Boomers have proven they cannot govern well.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Ms. Clinton is history. Through all of 2007, she ran the Democratic race as if she was the inevitable nominee for her party. She attempted to stay above the fray, talked and generalities, and even went so far during a debate to say that the reason people are picking on her was that she was "winning". Her campaign manager went even further to say in November that if the election were held [then], that Ms. Clinton would win.

No more. Hillary now is dropping like a stone in the polls. She's been caught in several messy predicaments, most of her own doing. She looks unsure, un-confident, and lately just plain desperate. Having husband Bill around trying to plug up the dike has been more harmful then helpful. Bill's ego seems to get in the way of who he is trying to help. He talks more about himself then her does his wife.

Additionally, Hillary herself has gone negative. Her campaign has been caught staging town hall meetings, having her campaign team show up as plants at Republican debates, and has sent out e-mails claiming Obama is Muslim. Hillary, for someone with high negatives anyway, will probably be getting over 50% negative ratings in the polls. No candidate can win with those kinds of negatives.

Ms. Clinton "rock star" persona is now history. She now is starting to look just another candidate with a lot of baggage that needs to be explained.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Very interesting... I think Hillary still has a shots to win presidency. >>

I'm white and in the deep south and would happily vote for the black/white man/woman I felt was the best candidate. I won't vote for Obama because of his stance on illegal immigration and I won't vote for Hillary because I don't believe a word that comes out of that woman's mouth. If they were running, I WOULD seriously consider voting for Colin Powell or Condie Rice, depending on their views. Not all whites feel there is no place for a black man or a woman in the White House.

One thing I will say is that Hillary, Bill and Obama seemed to forget that there are WHITES that live in Selma. This isn't Iran or Nazi Germany, contrary to popular liberal left-wing opinion. The American public is EXTREMELY well-informed on the candidates and the issues, and race and gender have NOTHING to do with it.

There are PLENTY of great Americans of ALL races and creeds that I would vote for, but Hillary and Obama are not among them. Of course, as a Republican I am quite biased on this, POLITICALLY! I would gladly vote for Elizabeth Dole, or Colin Powell, or even Condolleezza Rice, all of whom have valuable and extensive experience in government affairs and ALL of whom I would trust to serve responsibly in the office.

As for Hillary, I will not vote for her because a. she plainly stated "we will take from you for the common good," as if government isn't taking enough at all levels already, and b. She squirmed during the debate on drivers' licenses for illegals. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

My main concern vis-a-vis Obama is based on experience, not race. Edwards is white, but I wouldn't vote that pretty-boy shyster lawyer who proclaimed the disabled will "rise up out of their wheelchairs and walk" if he is elected into office for dog catcher, never mind President.

The ONLY Democrat I would even consider electing to the Presidency is Joe Lieberman, if he hadn't been driven out of the party for not being sufficiently radical or anti-Bush, that is.

And therein lies the rub. At least there are SOME Republican candidates with moderate or liberal views. Name me one Democrat who ISN'T in the extreme left KOS/MoveOn.ogr tank. That is NOT where the majority of Americans are, or the direction they want to go.

And that is why Rudy Giuliani (most likely) will be our next president, not because he's white or male. So I guess we can start getting ready for four or eight years of Giuliani Derangement Syndrome, soon to be known as GDS. Can't wait!

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

R. It is very sad. "

OBAMA IS NOT THE ANSWER!
It is proven over and over in his short time as a senator that Obama doesn't have the nerve to take on tough issues. Is not in favor of a health care plan to cover all children rich or poor. DON’T WASTE YOUR VOTE! Take a look at his public tenure in the Illinois Legislature, where lawmakers can vote "present! Instead of yes or no on a bill. Obama, votes “present" on SEVEN ABORTION MEASURES!!!! Unbelievable! Shame on Oprah! Who put woman back 50years… Madame President of the United States…it's an extraordinary thought. We truly are in a momentous time, where a woman's potential has no limitations," "Hillary Clinton has already proven to a generation of women that there are no limits for success. She is driven by her passion for public service and her belief in the enormous potential of our country. Smart, capable and strong in her convictions, Hillary has transcended the dictates of what is thought to be possible for our time.
"Hillary is a powerful voice for change as we find our country at an important crossroads. Under her leadership, our country will regain its respect within the global community. She will prioritize issues of global climate change, universal healthcare and rebuilding a strong economy. After 8 long years, the public will once again have faith in their government.
"Another former first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote, 'In government, in business, and in the professions there may be a day when women will be looked upon as persons. We are, however, far from that day as yet.' He is authentic, smart, trustworthy, speak the truth and offer him self for service even when he could have made millions in Wall Street.

I am hoping Democratic Party makes the right decision by electing Obama.
Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Does any Republican remember who was president when 9/11 happened? Some do not seem to realize that there are many democratic families who have democratic loved ones serving in the military too.
We need to stop dividing ourselves and start coming together. There is so much work to be done to restore our standing on the national stage and to repair the damage done in our own country. When you cast your vote for president, do it based on what will be best for the country as a whole, not what will strengthen your own party. I happen to believe that Barack Obama and John Edwards both have good ideas and the desire to take us forward as a nation. No matter who the President turns out to be, that person will not be able to fix everything.We all need to let go of the past and move forward. We do ourselves no good when we indulge in hatred. I am talking to Benton Bain. You have miss quoted so many facts in your letter and the hatred is palpable when I read it. I could correct your statements but I doubt it would change your mind, so I will save my breath. I only hope that most Americans are living in the present and trying to do something to help the country.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Diane says the race is not about race or gender but is generational. Anyone over 45 OUT, anyone 18-44 IN.
Yeah, yeah, we old worthless Baby Boomers also remember in the late '60's when they said we should not trust anyone over 30. Yes, we've heard that old line before, Diane. It was NOT true now. It was just immaturity lack of experience talking then as it is now.

diane, what other nuggets of insight do you have for us today?

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

First off, let me remind the non-boomers that without us "old" people, you would not be watching those HDTV's and listening to your ubiquitous iPods or driving a car with airbags.
Secondly, I love Barak, but his supporters scare the hell of me. They sound like they are voting, not for President, but for the second coming of Jesus. I guess if Bill Clinton was the first black President, then Obama could be the first black Jesus.....

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Hillary gets elected for 8 years, then Jeb Bush gets his 8 years and then Roger Clinton gets 8 years and so on as nauseum. Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton - ...

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Darrell,
 I had to read your comment three times before I could believe what you are saying.

 You are saying that black women who support Bill Clinton are not willing participants but are being forced into it by sexual abuse and rape???????????????

 Surely that is not what you meant to say. No sane person would spew such craziness.

 If I have misunderstood your comment, tell us exactly what you meant.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Please, can somebody explain to me , what is Hillary's experience? The fact that he is trying to discredit Paul Krugman of all people for correctly stating the obvious flaws in his Republicanized approach to social security and healthcare is really offputting to me.

Definitely, I would have to agree with the Edwards/ Clinton overlap. Now, as much as a sleaze as John Edwards is, I find him more palatable than BO and I am an HRC supporter. JE is a much better option than Giuiliani or Huckabee. The other thing, JE can actually win the general election. True, Obama can carry every state that John Kerry carried (except New Jersey and Pennsylvania if Rudi is the nominee). But, that's it and it is not enough to win the presidency. As soon as Pat Robertson starts telling the evangelicals that Obama is a Muslim, Obama will not be able to pull Ohio or any swing state.

Now, I know Obama desperately does not want to be labeled a Muslim at the expense of insulting the Muslim community. As an aside, this is not very progressive and it is insulting to his Muslim grandparents. However, and the larger point, I live in Northern KY and I have spoken with several Kentuckians and Ohioans that have said Obama is a Muslim plant, Democrats mind you. As an Obama detractor, I have even said "well I don't like his policies and I think he is a shady, Chicago-style politician, but he is not a Muslim." "No," they always reply, "I don't care if he is a Christian now. Once a Muslim always a Muslim."

Like I said, I like HRC (Biden would be my 2nd choice). But, we could lose this election Dems. If it comes down to it, I think JE is more palatable and could actually win.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Just where have the people been for the last seven years that don't want a Clinton presidentcy? This has been the worst administration in the last 100 years and it will take another twenty years to get the country back to where it was. Obama dosen't have a chance of being elected if nominated as about 25 percent say they will vote for him, but they won't.
So another republican administration gets in. The common misconception is that the american voters are smart. She is a twice elected Senator with a high approval rating in her home state. While being First Lady she had to deal with her very popular unfaithful husband whose behavior should not reflect on her. She raised their child doing a magnificent job and managed to keep her marriage together under horrendous circumstances. Something that the vast majority of Americans seem unable to accomplish. She and her husband went through what was possibly the most scrutinized 8 years of any Presidency in our history. They favor big governments that intrude into the lives of citizens. Therefore, a socialized medicine plan would be something fascists would support.

By contrast, liberals (with a lower case l) believe that the government only has the ability to secure natural rights: life, liberty and property. Socialized Medicine does not fall under one of those categories, and actually involves stealing property from the productive members of society (i.e. the rich) and giving it to the unproductive members of society (i.e. the poor.) Republicans come much closer to being liberal than to being communist or fascist. Thus, calling someone a Republifascist does little more than display your ignorance concerning the history of political philosophy.

If socialized medicine worked well, Rich Canadians wouldn't come to the United States for health care. Markets always work better than government control. I believe America is ready for Intelligence, Integrity, and Change in the White House - no matter what package it presents itself in.

If those of us who are not trapped in fear and falsehoods actually vote, we'll have what America needs and deserves - President Obama!

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

What's funny is we say we want Hillary to win and were against Obama, and on the other hand we say we want Obama to win and that we wouldn't vote for Hillary. Seems he has a lot to offer for any American. You just can't be better than the constitution of the united States of America when electing a president.

Nobody in either party represents his oath of office and has followed the Constitution they take on intering office, or lived up to that oath with the exception of this Congressman for 20 years.

He has a 100% score for following the Constitution.

He does not just talk, he walks the walk. As Americans we are to elect people --not partys.

If we are looking for moral people and somebody who is for America first the rest of these clowns are not the people to vote for.

Picking the best of what is put out there to vote for is no longer choice--it is called manipulation.

I just want honest Americans to look at the man and ask yourself what America is about. During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage"
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2; Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty-million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say good-bye to the USA in fewer than five years."

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/ Vote wise get somebody that represents America--voting is a obligation to being American--Don't blow it.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Giuliani ????? what in the??? Putting the "reasons" of the divide aside, we all can agree that the divide in itself, was largely to blame for some of the issues we are facing today.
With that said, why would we as Democrats choose the most polarizing figure in our field as our Nominee? Is this going to be a "you screwed us, now we're screwing you" kind of nominee? Because thats what Hillary being our nominee would be. Another 4 years of divide.
We want to walk into office in Jan. 09 with a political divide ALREADY IN PLACE? Ask yourselves, is thats what best for AMERICA?
I believe the type of divide created by the Clinton administration was not good for AMERICA. I didnt personally care about his affair, but that divide hurt US as a country. When casting your vote, place the needs of this country first.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

It worries me that the poll questions are asinine. There is not one substantive question about issues and values it is all about spin and perception which is influenced heavily in acpaitalist country by spin.
fortunately honest citizens are able to choose between honest bcandidates, the necessity is having a choice that inclues honest stespeople instead of solely ambitious political egoists.

anywya my concern is that the Billaries and their media connections are setting up these carefully constructed polls in which Billary always wins even by a small margin, by craft and stealth. And that the Billary camp is poised to spin the results of the primary which may have been already sold to the Clintons camp, by claiming that even a small margin of victory shows that Billary is unbeatable which si not only bullshit but very scary. Do those of you who chose to vote for a canadiate based on who endorses them the true measure of what they have to offer. Heck, hasn't Oprah had several books she has selected for her book club been nothing, but misrepresentations and distortion of truth? Why can't she possibily be doing the same thing here. Picking the wrong book. Oprah has fallen on the color card and has chosen to play it rather than gender. Look at the problems with her school, because she acts decisively when this happens makes her not responsible? Everyone wants to hold the canadiates to an impossible code of correctness. I am not so concerned if they screw up (I expect that. Their human)what I am concerned about is how quickly they right the ship and move on. We can continue to lay in the tar pits and muck around trying to fix things or we can rise out from them and return this great country to it's proper place. We have let a President and his administration bring us down so far in the eyes of the World community that it is going to take an experienced politician to lead us back on top. Barack Obama hasn't aquired those skills yet and having Oprah tell me he is ready is a joke. I have always wondered why the average citizen would vote Republican when they only see us as the ones to carry the load for the privilaged ones. Then it came to me the reason is people want to be represented with those they wish they were, but weren't. They wanted to feel as if they belonged in the class of the wealthy. Wake up America and support what your are and where you are. Maybe if you had done this all along we wouldn't be facing a trillion dollar debt, young men and women dying not for our freedom, but for money and oil. I have prayed daily for President Bush. Not, to help lead us thru this mess, but to forgive him for creating it. The very truth of the matter is this. We American's as a lot are stupid and ignorant. We want to be told by someone else who is best for us. We have to put out literature that can be read at 8th grade level or we will miss many. We do chose not to look at fact, but accept promises. Proof is in the pudding as they say. We need a seasoned canadiate to navigate the troubled waters ahead, not a newbie who has the endorsement of famous entertainer. American's make the next President your choice, do the research, read about your canadiate and see what is said from both sides about them. If your looking for perfection then you need to wait for the second coming before you vote. Forgive my spelling errors I was to lazy to check the dictionary. One last thing...MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. I believe in those things and should you not that is your choice, but allow me to celebrate my Christmas's and New Years the way I want. I will also defend your right to celebrate yours the way you chose.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

If Obama can get Biden to drop and throw his support behind him that can and will turn the tide, he could really settle things I think by annoucing Biden as his VP should he be nominated. Why does anyone want to be President? Hillary has been fighting the cause all of her grown life. From college on. Obviously she has had a heart for the people and I do not think she would let us down. Aside from that, I just am afraid that Obama would not win the general election. I beleive that the reason you get the impression that she is not being truthful is that any one can say "I will do this or that" but I beleive with her experience she is trying to be painfully truthful. The President has to work with the Congress. Knowing congress as she does, I am sure that she knows what to expect from them. That is called experience. There has to be give and take to get anything done. We don't have a kingdom or dictatorship here.I heard what she said about the driver's licences for illegals, she only said she understood why the Governor wanted that and it was not to be the same as our driver's license. How about if you were injured by an illegal? What recourse would you have? Are you really listening or are you too prejudiced to hear? I like Edwards as well, but I wish he could really accomplish what he is espousing. But there will still be republicans in congress. Polls show Clinton gets 3/4 of womens votes and Obama gets 3/4 of the black vote, and I thought it was only white men who are prejudice. Point: Oprah clarified she has voted for both democrats and republicans in the past, but until Obama has never campaigned for any candidate. Point: Hillary claims she is the one who can best unite the country, but in a recent speach to an all women audience she spoke of how her years at an all women college prepared her to compete against men and further the cause of women. If we truely want to rise above prejudice and racism we must elect someone that has shown themselves to be above such things, someone who is campaigning for the whole of America and does not pander to specific groups or sell their souls to special interest lobbyist. And the only such candidate that comes to mind is John Edwards, the candidate for all common folks against corporate lobbyist who purchase our representatives loyalty in order to get them to work against us. Anyone who takes lobbyist money to finance their campaigns is disingenuous about the notion of uniting.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

I now agree with the growing viewer disastifaction on the bias that MSNBC is applying to Hillary Clinton.
It is becoming a joke to watch. I will bet ya that this woman becomes the next President which will be far better than what you gave the world the last two times you voted. By the way, why dont you talk more about why you cant even get of a fair vote still and you people still do not know how to run an election. Maybe you should ask a contry like anada how to do it. They get thier results fair and non faudulent everytime expediately.Your hate for Hillary is coverving all your faces very clearly and if she wins this station will be the first to say that you all supported her.Keep up the joke, it will be funny to watch all of you choking on crow very shortly.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Hillary Clinton the best for this country
After reading these comments it becomes clear why the United States is slipping in status in the world. It seems that there are a lot of people that live in some kind of vacuum and refuse to acknowledge the reality that exists around them. They replace thoughtful comment with simplistic name calling and repeating ridicules innuendo apparently thinking that if you repeat something from talk radio others will believe it.

Let is examine the so-called baggage that Hillary is supposed to be struggling with. Her tormentors spent millions of dollars attempting to uncover some dirt that they could use to attack her husband with and the best they could come up with was him getting a blow-job in the oval office.

The rest of the world watched in disbelief as the self-righteous Republicans, one after another marched up to the podium and made complete jackasses of themselves. Bill’s approval ratings climbed into the high sixty percentage points while the Republicans put on their impeachment circus.

Hillary has been tested and she has dealt with everything that her opponents could throw at her and she is still standing. Her intelligence is unquestionable and her experience is vast and pertinent to the Presidency. Eight years in the White house along with her excellent education and time in the Senate has toughened her for the demanding job of leading our country. She is respected around the world and her election to the Presidency would receive overwhelming approval from the entire world. Our image would be reversed to that of respect and dignity overnight.

The other candidates are worthy competitors but non has the recognition, popularity, or preparedness as dose Hillary. Our country as well as the rest of the world is at a crucial point in history with possibly the very survival of our species hanging in the balance. So we must put aside our petty differences and make a decision that places the well being of both our country and the rest of the world in the forefront of who we place this tremendous burden on when we elect the next President.

Hillary is ready to be President and the country is ready for Hillary.

Frank

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Well i see that a lot of you have been watching the political biasd CNN, we have 80% none blacks in this country, and 20% blacks, and if you dont think you rear will cath He;;, just vote for OBAMA the muslim, self admitted druggie, so i see you like both, if you cant listen to him speak, and tell his drug use has caused a speach imparment, then you are not right, votes for OBAMA, and his very Raceist opry, man you people are sick, i guess if OBAMA was elected, if you dont like what he does you better not say nothing, are you will be discreminating againt him, so you better keep that mouth closed, and you opinions to your self no more free speach, or you will be a raciest.

Clinton shouldn't worry about just IA

Betty D.
