Obama, they say, would be inspirational, motivating, charismatic and compassionate. In my town 79% of those who declare their support for Ron Paul are NOT registered Republicans. So this greatly skews the polls since the may not be considered &amp;quot;likely Republican Primary voters&amp;quot; by the pollsters. Straw Polls are a better measure of Ron Paul's support - he's won 25 and placed in the top 3 in 38 out of 47 so far. Hopefully, everyone can keep their emotions in check. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If there is the perception that Senator Clinton's campaign is criticial of the press, I hope the members of the media try very hard not to allow that to become a self fulfilling comment, but try to be fair and balanced in their reporting. &amp;nbsp;Personally, I think Senator Clinton's campaign was caught off guard by the stength of both Senator Obama and Senator Edwards' campaigns and was not prepared to deal with such a close, hard fought campaign. &amp;nbsp;I think they believed the &amp;quot;inevitability&amp;quot; line and now are in some disarray trying to catch up to the actuality of the campaign. &amp;nbsp;Plus, they are way to sensitive to criticism of any kind; in my opinion she was far more effective when she presented her proposals and didn't try to combat every word the opposition candidates said. &amp;nbsp;Ideally, people would live in a vacuum and only consider the 'proper' factors, but realistically, it's going to happen. &amp;nbsp;What's wrong with women saying, hey, it took you smucks 150 years to give us the right to vote and 100 years more to allow us a candidate from our background? &amp;nbsp;What's wrong with blacks saying, look at all the trials we've gone through in American history, I'm going to support the candidate that represents the obsticals we have overcome and are yet overcoming! &amp;nbsp;Those who say it shouldn't be a factor (me included) need to understand that it is important and it is meaningful. &amp;nbsp;And I think people do take the issues into account along with the subjective.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Voting for religion is kind of a different matter. &amp;nbsp;Many people 'get their' values from religion (which I say is wrong), so it is probably an issue in the sense that people can understand where a candidate 'gets his or her' values from and relate and agree.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Why did F-R not report that Gore accepted the nobel peace prize today--that seems right up their alley. &amp;nbsp;Who might he endorse and when? &amp;nbsp;Right before the election might offer a much needed media boost for whichever candidate. &amp;nbsp;How about Kennedy/Kerry, with the closeness of the race, might they wait until after Iowa but before NH? Was Biden showing a lack of civility when he said that he believed everyone who voted for the Iran resolution, not just Hillary was wrong, when he was asked if Hillary was wrong to vote for the Kyl-Lieberman resolution?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Was Chris Dodd showing a lack of civility when he called her on her false statement regarding drivers licenses at the 10/30 debate? Are you suggesting that she has a right to make a false statement, and none of the other candidates can question that?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Joe Biden was asked whether he thinks that his contact with foreign leaders has been more substantive than Hillary's. The answer is of course, and I doubt even Hillary, or her blindly devoted supporters would seriously disagree, but Biden didn't answer that question (one of the few times he didn't answer the question posed) instead he said he wasn't running against Hillary he was running to be President, and then attacked Rudy. Had Biden said yes, and mentioned that in total number he has met with twice as many foreign leaders as Hillary without even looking at whether her meetings were substantive. And then stating the bulk of Hillary's contacts have been as first lady, and that of those ___% were as the hostess at state dinners, and that even the contacts Hillary had overseas, without Bill, where she was the face of America (Even though her campaign hadn't come out with that claim yet)his contacts, such as leading the negotiations on the START &amp;nbsp;agreement with Brezhnev in 1979, were far more substantive. This would not have been unfair, or untrue or lacking in civility.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The reality is all candidates, even Edwards, who the media credited with going after Hillary at the 10/30 debate have not only not unfairly attacked her, they haven't lacked civility. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Not a single Democrat, directly or by implication has brought up her Rose law firm billing problems, travelgate, the 100,000 over night securities gain, or any of the scandals she was responsible for. I hope that all the college students that have turned out in some of the crappiest weather I remember Iowa getting this early, do return on the 3rd to attend the caucuses and make their voices heard that they oppose the direction the country is taking and want their voices heard and understood loud and clear that the s--t going on in Washington needs to end; that we need healthcare for everyone, the rights of all students to be able to afford a college education; to get our soldiers out of Iraq ASAP; to fix Social Security; and all the other things that Obama has said will be the hallmarks of his Administration. He has the vision, he has worked on key legislation across the political aisle of the Senate, something Hillary cannot say, and will be able to work out disagreements quickly and effectively. I believe he will be better at foreign matters due to his willingness to meet with leaders of all nations, even those thought to be hostile to us. He only gained that momentum once he got nasty, but that's his MO, go on the offensive. AND, when you don't have a record to defend AND nothing to offer. Let me make this clear: I'm from Illinois. I voted for Obama for Senator. He's been a BIG, BIG disappointment in that role. He's voted with Bush more times than not when he has shown up for his votes, which in the last few months has BEEN ONLY 20% of the time. Hillary served a full term in the US Senate, where she built coalitions with bi-partisan support. That is why she was RE-Elected to a second term. Obama has lied about his foreign policy experience everytime he opens his mouth about it, because he doesn't HAVE ANY! He was quite willing to invade one of our few middle east allies, including one with nukes, and sit down with meglomaniacs like those nutjobs in North Korea and Iran. Beside the obvious problems, other Senators have had to remind him that we really can't invade ANYONE, because THERE IS NO ONE TO SEND Our all-volunteer force is stretched to the limit.He doesn't have an economic policy to speak of. His health plan is a carbon copy of Clinton's but without funding. As for how many Illinois Democrats feel about Obama, we are indeed fortunate to have a hard-working Democratic Senator with a great deal of experience. It's Dick Durbin. Before you write platitudes about Obama and try to pass off snotty sexist comments regarding Senator Clinton - or any candidate you really should check your facts.
