I wonder just what it is that would give one such optimism about "the war"? Is it the misinformed notion that Islam means us no harm? One need only check out their equivalent of what we call mission or vision statement to cure that idea. Or is it the idealistic hope that they will leave us alone if we get out of the Mid-East? Or that terrorism can be dealt with passively, or through diplomacy? Can we believe anything that they say?

How can we possibly be post war if there are still well over 100,000 troops on the ground in Iraq that even with the Democrats, it's anybody's guess when we will leave? How can we be post war if this administration is trying to keep the drumbeats for war with Iran?

Okay, I'll move non-partisan here for a second. Will a post-war election favor Democrats or Republicans? I'd suppose Republicans, because ...that would mean we won?

wether or not we have a posr war election, we will need a president that can negotiate through diplomacy as the president of the u.s.

the rest of the world will have to see the next president has morally and ethically high values. he or she will have to be a person that is able to bridge the voids the bush administration has created internationally.

the next president will have to be a healer home and abroad. the next president will have to transcend the bipartisan politics of today. the republicans and independents in congress will have to feel the next president is about building a bridge and not be a representative of past battles and being their as an advocate of being able to do battle with them.

it is going to take extremely good judgement and visionary purpose to heal the damage that has been done over the last 7 years. this next president can't give into the desire to go to the hill and fight the republicans because he or she is tough enough and that is what they have experienced in their time within washington.

he or she can't just hope for hope for change. he or she is going to have to exact change on capitol hill in order for us to make changes that benefit america abroad.

judgement is going to be a huge factor with the next president. bringing support from both sides and the middle of the aisle will be important. we can't afford someone to go to the capitol looking to just a fight ot he ability to fight.

it is time for change in politics from the way it has been done for so long, or it won't matter if it is a present or post war election or presidency.

I don't possibly see how this is post war. How many troops do we still have in Iraq and we still have a President literally gunning for Iran?

The military does what it is told. They didn't set around the barracks one day and decide to "go do" Iraq. The "President" we elected and a spineless congress sent them. If it is wrong then it is up to citizens to say so and say so loudly.
