clinton has lost the lead in n.h. according to a poll released this am. i'm sure there will be a poll by the ap or rassmussen to contradict this poll.

This is key. Edwards ship-jumpers will tend (slightly) to go with Obama, though not in as great umbers as Obama would wish. Edwards supporters are known as die-hards, but an IA squeaker will put pressure on people to peel off to help their second-choice candidate. A couple thoughts on this: first, pro-Donkey folks will be more likely to peel off because they care more about the party relative to the candidate (good for Hillary). Second, Edwards supporters who list Obama as #2 are more anti-Hillary than Edwards supporters who list HRC as #2 are anti-Obama, so will be more likely to peel off at primary time (good for Obama).

After NH, Edwards will probably be out of there, and this effect more than likely will break the race one way or the other. That's why it's odd that you don't see more emphasis on second choice and head-to-head polls.

It's nice to see in the last few months that people are beginning to have questions about Hillary being the frontrunner in this race. I have been saying for over a year, I think she is the worst choice for the Democratic Party and the country. I am tired of negative politics, divisiveness and business in Washington as usual. She only represents more of the same. Any Edwards supporter who would give their blessing to Hillary rather than Obama (if it comes down to that choice) has not been listening to a word Edwards has to say. Edwards wants change. The only change Hillary represents is that she is a woman. To vote for someone on the gender issue alone is like betting on Western Oregon U. to beat LSU because WOU is your favorite team; might make you feel good at the time but the ensuing slaughter will leave a bad taste in your mouth and just encourage LSU to play more patsies on their way to Number One.
