In the Senate, he introduced legislation to curb the influence of lobbyists. When Edwards ( the trial attorney)says one must fight, what he means is one must negotiate from a position of strength, and one must convince the opponent that they have the most to lose by refusing to negotiate an acceptable settlement. In other words, the one who brings the biggest stick to the fight usually gets the best of the deal, and the president carries a very big stick. One must remember corporate giants did not attain their wealth by being charitable, nor do they make consessions unless they are forced. And John Edwards is very experienced at how to go about getting an acceptable response from a reluctant participant... Perhaps those two will be on the democratic ticket? One thing i'd like to address is the "double standard" that was stated earlier in labeling attacks. Well its apparent to me that indeed there is a double standard on Hilary. However it has also been apparent these past few weeks that Clinton and Obama, and Clinton and Edwards have been making attacks on each other. While this exchange of words between Edwards and Obama was just an exchange of words. Not quite sure why Obama and Edwards don't go after each other harder.

Edwards, Obama trade rare barbs

Anyone who has formed opinions about John Edwards from the MSM reporting over the past year, you can see the real man at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4sBQbIRtSA . It's worth the time.

Edwards, Obama trade rare barbs

The Obama/Edwards exchange is a discussion of differences of policy, NOT ATTACKS. The Clinton camp practices dishonest allegations and personal attacks on character, then calls it a joke, or Elizabeth Edwards is a sincere, charming woman. Given how little experience Obama has, its understandable that his campaign doesnt want any kind of focus on his record, These stories clearly raise questions about Obamas electability and serve as a stark reminder about how little the public knows about his positions. The Illinois chapter of the National Organization for Women, Obama said he would vote to repeal the Patriot Act. In 2006 Obama voted for the redrafted version of the Patriot Act that some critics contended made only minor changes to the original law. On Defense of Marriage Act Obama answered No,to the question: "Do you support repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act. On Fast Track authority, which requires Congress to vote yes or no and without amendments on pending trade deals, Obama opposes Fast Track authority because it is a usurpation of Congress' role to ensure that negotiated trade agreements serve the best interests of our country, including protection of the environment, worker rights and human rights. In remarks to the Detroit Economic Club in May, Obama said, I plan to be president, so I actually want Fast Track. But I'm willing to constrain myself in Fast Track to make sure that we’ve got strong labor and environmental protections. On benefits for same-sex couples, Obama said, he would need to evaluate the fiscal impact of extending Social Security benefits to same-sex couples that married couples currently receive. Also Barack Obama (D-IL)involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin Tony Rezko. Obama also linked to an alleged influence peddling scandal and was nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

Edwards, Obama trade rare barbs

If Hillary wins the nomination, I will vote for a Non-Democrat for President for the first time in my life.

Edwards, Obama trade rare barbs

Not a barb, not even a sticker, geez these politicos are salivating for a fight. Both of these guys have a lot more integrity than that, though earlier, Edwards was certainly more in the attack dog mode - and Elizabeth continues in her attack kitten mode. I love her, but love Michelle too. Go Obama - he is my man. Edwards seems a little too desperate even now - saw him on on the AM shows today, too much blinking - very distracting. What do body language experts say about excessive blinking? Dont know, but it leaves me cold.

Edwards, Obama trade rare barbs

Imagine how unbeatable a team of Obama and Edwards would be. Biden as Sec. of State. What a team! There would be no question that the country would be back on track.
