From NBC/NJ's Mike MemoliNASHUA, NH -- Clinton got good news out of Iowa Saturday with the Des Moines Register’s endorsement. As she began to make her closing argument in New Hampshire, however, she faced some tough questions, including one from a voter

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

Sounds like Lasky just lost Clinton a vote...

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

Every candidate runs into this - an individual asking tough questions - so I'm not sure this one is blog worthy either. Obviously the audience was predominantly with Clinton.

So the question is whether this perception of lacking authenticity is prevalent in New Hampshire or a fringe view, and nothing in this account gives us a clue.

I'm guessing it is prevalent, but only because I keep assuming everyone sees things like me, lol. Its an impression reinforced by supporters who keep touting her experience. If they were honestly looking for experience, they'd be backing Biden or Richardson. But that's another story.

There is one thing Clinton says I do believe, and that's that she's working hard. Anyone else notice how tired she's starting to look?

I guess it gets to all of them (well, maybe not Thompson, as I guess even at his age he can handle a schedule of two events per week). Obama talked about the origins of the "fired up, ready to go" thing in Iowa this week. It was a sorta cute story about how he had been pushing the pace in South Carolina and made some promise to go to an out of the way town "about an hour and half from anywhere."

So he makes the drive, despite feeling pretty worn out, to visit this town of something like a hundred voters. There he's going through his stump speech, when this older lady in the back starting chanting, "fired up... ready to go." At first he tried to continue the speech, but noticed everytime she said it, the others would repeat. After a few minutes Obama gave up and joined in. And a few minutes later, he said he was feeling great.

The point of the story was that this woman had made his day, as well as given him a campaign chant. And he tied that to Iowans who would have to make the decision to go out and caucus and stay home. It was the "one person can make a difference" thing (so... go out and caucus, especially if its for Obama).

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

From what I hear of Hillary, I think the door to door meeting people will help tremendously. We're in a war promoted by two of the most cold and politically calculating men this country's ever seen. We have to get out of a idiotic war, while continuing to fight global terrorism, and get health care for all Americans. Difficult stuff, even for the politically savvy. If you had stock in a Corporation, would you want a warm fuzzy CEO? No.

Too many people are living in a fantasy world where they want to "feel good" about someone, and then tough decisions need to be made, & their "feel-good candidate" doesn't have the toughness, they complain.

I think Mr Tilton's question belies a subsurface fear of a strong female personality we have in America. Nobody faulted her for being "cold".
I think if Hillary ran a "Jimmy Carter" campaign, she'd be torn apart by the media, Dems & Reps alike, as "weak woman".
America has to wake up from it's misogynist 1950's "women belong in the kitchen" underpinnings and no, The Reverend Dr. King isn't being reincarnated as Barack Obama, and neither is Bobby (or John) Kennedy returning as John Edwards.
We need SMART, experienced, & decisive right now.
T Perri

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

No Thanks Mama - I'm for Obama !

It's time to Rise and Shine again America.

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

More dirty politics today. Kerry brought up Obama's fathers muslin religion today. WHY?

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

I'm form Ohio and I had to just get into this conversation, I hope you don't mind. And all of Hill's experience lead her to not vet Bush's lies twice. Once for Iraq and once for Iran.
Also, notice she is touting her her pre-government work all of a sudden. We've been there and done that with these type of degrading, demoralizing politics. How in all that is right and proper can we think that continuing that in January 2009 is going to be in the best interest of uniting and moving our country forward?

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

Uneducated American men need to read about Margeret Thatcher and other leaders like German, Indian & Sri Lankan female leaders.

Were they cold and calculating?

Do you want a winking, beer buddy like George Bush or a smart, cold, calculating leader who makes your country strong? Barney won't hump your leg, know what I mean.
Clinton faces tough questions in NH

Barf...I don't get it...many of you bash clinton for being cold and calculating as if any pol who wants to be prez isn't...well guess what, even obama and edwards are cold calculating pols...having said that I'm all for leaving the bush-league, clintonesque days behind us...

Clinton faces tough questions in NH

Tough questions?
