As for the Des Moines register endorsement. It seem I read an article a few days before that Hillary was having a private dinner with the head writer. That doesn't seem appropriate to me. But this is typical Clinton, I wonder if there was intimidation involved?

I also read an article today about Clinton amassing super delegates. I didn't know that governors, former presidents, congressmen got delegates. I am very concerned that the majority of Democrats are going to vote for Obama, and then the establishment of the party is going to overide the people's vote.

Our election process needs to be overhauled. The electoral college, as well as these super delegates that apparently make up nearly 1/4 of the primary decision.

I used to be quite proud of the picture of me and Bill shaking hands, that sits on my piano. Now, when I chance to glance at it, I just shake my head with a smirk on my face. The sad thing for me is, the more I see of Bill's disingenuous campaigning for his wife, the more I become aware that her whole run for office is a thinly disguised skirting of the 22nd amendment. I know that we are better than a 'tin horn' dictatorship that offers the pretense of a democracy.

Also, as one who voted for Bill Clinton twice (and in fact have voted Republican only one time in thirty-five years), the HRC campaign has forced me to re-examine Bill's presidency. It seems to me that he presided during a relatively non-challenging time in American history. The success of the times were little influenced by his stewardship (a stewardship which was often times counter-productive). In fact, the only challenges he faced were brought on by his own misadventures. The behavior demonstrated by Bill and Hill during this campaign, has made me appreciate why they were so polarizing during the nineties. Their intransigence and duplicity spawned a national reaction that led to the election of a simpleton like GWB. Man, would I like to go back to a day when Republicans and Democrats could agree to disagree and forge a government that could once again function.

Which brings me to Paul Krugman's, now routine, anti-Obama vitriol, written in the NYT today. After reading his commentary on 'the correct approach' to a comprehensive overhaul of healthcare in this nation, I can only say that it seems quite foolish to start in the trenches when dealing with the pharmaceutical and insurance companies. As with international enemies, it is best to start with diplomacy. Not only is there a chance at rapproachment, but through dialogue, you learn much more about their intents and technique. Certainly, it may come down to trench warfare, but how, 'let me say', naive, how unsophisticated, to go right to the battle stations, as John Edwards and Paul Krugman suggest. Interestingly, Obama offers the most well thought out and uncompromised plan in dealing with these special interests. He may actually be able to get something done without being either at war or in the pockets of these special interests.

Bill Clinton argues on TV that Obama doesn't have enough experience to be President.

But the 'experience argument' relies on a fallacy: that it's just a person's 'time spent doing something' that determines how well they are likely to perform a job.

Luckily, common sense tells each one of us that if, say, 10 people, do the same job, for the same amount of time, there will likely be 10 different outcomes (1 best of ten, 1 worst of ten, and 8 somewhere in between). Thus, we can't attribute 'time spent'
as the cause of both the best, And, the worst -- the time factor was the same for both. Thus there must be different things causing the different performances.

The 'experience argument' wants you to be blind to the very things that make it necessary to invoke the fallacious argument in the first place -- that some people are brighter and more talented than others and these differences can make a difference in how well one does a job.

It pretends that the individual character of a person -- that person's uniqueness, his special talents and intelligence, his natural gifts, intuition, insight, his carry-over experience directly from his own life -- are, at best, insignificant to the job of President of the USA.

As if this weren't enough, Clinton then tries a 'slight of hand' distraction, by attempting to draw a line between 'being able to win an elected office' and 'being able to run that office.'

However, by touting Obama's political smarts, he indirectly undoes his previous argument; after all, you can't run an office if you can't get elected (so electability is indeed part of the equation and, according to Bill, Obama has it). By stating his
own belief that 'Obama is super skilled and gifted politician' he tacitly admits his own argument against Obama is . . . nonsense and, quite likely, the result of too much political "experience").

I just wish, just once, Hillary would answer the question about what experience she has to be President. Another issue that I think needs to be aired is that Obama is overestimating both his African American and Illinois support. When I attended training for Hillary advocacy in Illinois, I was surprised myself at the number of African-American women and MEN who attended. They discuss which political candidates would best represent or futherr Arkansas based on their own culture and design. These same guys, maybe individaully, made sure to underwrite the campaign of several of the candidates for Governor of Arkansas (Including Clinton) to further their influence.)

Even Jerry Jones, President of the Dallas Cowboys got involved with underwriting multiple candidates for Governor (To make sure he chose an eventual winner), which turned out to be Clinton.

Of course, Jerry Jones was involved in lots of things in Arkansas. Based on his oil and primarily gas interests in Northwest Arkansas and extending into Oklahoma (along with his Dad), he approached Mack McLarty, CEO of Arkla Gas, and struck such a sweet deal that both of them were mentioned in the Little Rock papers as being liable for a criminal case (which suspiciously went away).

Jones and McLarty backed Governor Bill Clinton's bandwagon for his run for the Presidency of the U.S.
which he won - McLarty became Clintons' Secretary of State.

Jones, in turn, took his new-found money and bought the Dallas Cowboys and now has, at leasst, quardupled his investment.

In 1992, Clinton was elected President of the U.S. along with Al Gore, his running mate, defeating the incumbent and Senior George Bush.

Bill Clintons' shenanigans in office earned him the nickname Slick Willy (Very Professional).

Bill Clinton helped to bring us NAFTA.

Perjury - Lewinsky scandal connection
Jones' lawyers decided to show to the court a pattern of behaviour by Clinton, which involved him allegedly repeatedly becoming sexually involved with state or government employees. Jones' lawyers therefore subpoenaed females they suspected Clinton had had affairs with, and one such was Monica Lewinsky. In his deposition for the Jones lawsuit, Clinton denied having "sexual relations" with Monica Lewinsky. Based on the evidence provided by Tripp, a blue dress with Clinton's semen, Starr concluded that this sworn testimony was false and perjurious.

"President of the United States Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, and acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. The charges, perjury and obstruction of justice, arose from the Monica Lewinsky scandal and Paula Jones law suit."

Contempt of court citation
In April 1999, about two months after being acquitted by the Senate, Clinton was cited by Federal District Judge Susan Webber Wright for civil contempt of court for his "willful failure" to obey her repeated orders to testify truthfully in the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit. For this citation, Clinton was assessed a $90,000 fine, and the matter was referred to the Arkansas Supreme Court to see if disciplinary action would be appropriate.[5]

Regarding Clinton's January 17, 1998, deposition where he was placed under oath, the judge wrote:

"Simply put, the president's deposition testimony regarding whether he had ever been alone with Ms. (Monica) Lewinsky was intentionally false, and his statements regarding whether he had ever engaged in sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky likewise were intentionally false . . . ." [6]

In January 2001, on the day before leaving office, Clinton agreed to a five-year suspension of his Arkansas law license as part of an agreement with the independent counsel to end the investigation. Based on this suspension, Clinton was automatically suspended from the United States Supreme Court bar, from which he then chose to resign. [7]

Soon after the invasion (3/30/03), Clinton appeared on CBS's 60 Minutes with former Senator Robert Dole and endorsed the war, saying, "Senator, unlike some of your Republican friends during Kosovo, I support our troops in Iraq and the president." Bill Clinton was trying very hard to achieve a Middle East Peace Agreement before he left office which would have set up a Palestian State and thus Middle East peace would have been achieved. That's why Osama and his followers hated us because the US didn't care about the middle east. We looked down at them as less than us.

When your former Governer George Bush came into office they asked him if he was going to keep up push for peace in the Middle East. He said no it has NO bearing on US National Security interests and something my administration won't be pursuing.

Gee- maybe if he wasn't so backwards and we achieved peace. The 9/11 attacks never would have taken place because peace would have been achieved. BUT oh no...George Bush said Middle East peace was not a factor in US National Security. What an idiot he turned out to be. That is a very good observation on your part. We have not elected a President directly from the Senate or from the House for nearly 50 years for that exact reason. In fact, all the Presidents since Kennedy have either been governors or VPs before they were President. People with only House or Senate experience are not experienced enough to be the President. They can always apply, but they probably won't be elected.

This is also why the Democratic field is so weak this election. They are all Senators and Reps, except for Richardson, who can't seem to even draw flies. In the end, none of the Democrats, except Richardson, have the experience.

Contrast that with the Republicans. Mostly governors and one large city mayor are doing well. The Republicans that are not doing so well? The Senators, or ex-Senators.

People are smart. They know which candidates have the experience.

Obama is hands down the best candidate to win the Presidency. He's fresh, he's exciting people in ways they never thought possible in politics, he has an overwhelming grassroots support and volunteers working tirelessly. He's brought America out of its slumber and forced them to pay attention.

The one thing The Clintons and The Bushes' have in common, besides their dyanastic ambitions, is that they would like nothing better than for America to slumber while they do all their dirty work.

I'm sick and tired of politics as usual and I'm tired of being apathetic. I'll do everything in my human power to see Barack Obama in office because when he talks... I believe him.

Now when he shows up playing the slick-willie/elderly statesman schtick, it just comes off as weird. The Clinton era was more like a bad fad for most democrats, on par with paisley bell-bottoms. I think the recent polls may be an indication that most of us are ready to move on.

As far as the party itself, Clinton's been reduced to one of those weight-guessing amusement devices you use to see in theater lobbies. Likewise, the political show the Clintons put on has a nostalgic, even vaudevillian, feel to it.

It's hard to fault a husband for supporting his wife's political endeavers, but in this case we have to fault the wife for allowing the husband to represent Her. I suspect Bill loves her and all (in his own way), but he did cheat on her -- it just isn't working to Hillary's advantage.

It's time for the Clintons to step back and gain a little political perspective -- trouble is, if they do that, then they may see that Obama is the man.

The negative flavor of so many of these responses is not because it is Bill-Bashing, but because Bill looks cheap and obvious, and no one needs that baggage loading down his or her presidential race.

We really need to stop and think and even ask ourselves “if liking someone with no experience or credentials worth placing America at risk again over someone who has indisputable credentials and experience.

Remember 9/11? We elected a president with no experience and look what mess he has placed American in.

Some of your may not like Mrs. Clinton (50/50) as much as Mr. Obama, but we need someone who will be able to take over as President on day one. Someone who can but together an experience staff/administration to ensure we don’t allow another 9/11 to take place.

We elected Napoleon….oops I mean Mr. Bush and this individual had no experience. And,look what mess he got us into.

Mr. Obama has not made too many mistakes. I will give that. Ask yourself why? Because he hasn’t been around that long as a Senator and hasn’t been given the opportunity to make mistakes.

The “Presidency” is not a job to make mistakes and learn as you go. Too much is at risk (i.e. like my family, friends, and American.).

Why do the real issues in this country never become the focal point of campaigns? Hillary's experience is a track record of failures during her husband's term and refusal to admit when she's been wrong on issues like Iraq . She also repeated the same mistake with the Kyl-Lieberman amendment. We don't need another president with a track record of failure and cold pig-headed stubbornness. In the last campaign days she is now "acting" like she is a softer person.

Obama has been both successful in his legislative career -- a career longer than either Clinton or Edwards -- and able to admit and learn from those times when he's made mistakes. A majority of individual here who attack Mrs Clinto are not even sure why they don't like her or able to provide reason why you don't like her. Except for what you read from other republicans or males who feel inferior to successful women with power. You have not met or worked with her. You just go by what other people write.
