It's funny that Hillary has to have others tell about her "softer" side rather then her showing it herself. Kind of like it takes Bill to tell us about her experience, and her spin team to tell us what she really meant to say during debates, and her campaign team planting the "right" questions in her audiences. Hillary is nothing but a puppet for her handlers. Get enough people pulling the right strings, and Hillary sometimes almost looks real.

SF Considers a Tax on Sugary Drinks

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- For years, the idea of taxing soda to beat back obesity has been tossed around in medical circles. But now, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is proposing a tax on beverages high in fructose corn syrup.

Newsom says obesity accounts for tens of millions of dollars in city health care costs. He cites a recent San Francisco Health Department survey that found nearly a quarter of the city's 5th, 7th and 9th graders were overweight and that high sugar drinks make up a tenth of a kid's daily calorie count.

Newsom reportedly wants all big box retailers and chain drug stores to pay into his new "Shape up San Francisco" program, which started this past summer with a walking regimen.

This comes as the state of California is considering slapping caffeine-infused sodas, and energy drinks with warning labels, saying consumption can contribute to diabetes.

Hey Paul and van its nice to see that Clinton is now finally opening offices in all of Iowa's counties. Unfortunately it is something she should have done five or six months ago. The reason --- you have to have reps out there meeting, persuading, and identifying potential caucus goers for your candidate. You guys just people in the field now? Those potential caucus goers have already been meet with, persuaded by, and identified with rival campaigns. But it nice to see Clinton wasting her money and her effort. Come Jan. 3 she is toast --- third or fourth place (heck before the DMR endorsement she was planning on leaving Iowa and focusing her energies on NH). 1. How many persons can you name who have personally met Hillary on the campaign trail that are against her? [The correct answer is NONE].

2. Exactly what (I mean EXACTLY) changes, in either Illinois or in the U. S. Senate, has Obama accomplished or been largely responsible for? [The correct answer is ZERO].

3. How many of you actually live in "Blue" or "Purple" states? [The correct answer is FEW--just look at Jerry from Texas, a wholly Red state].

Face it folks, Obama never accomplished nor has he been largely responsible for ANY policy changes in his entire (short as it's been) political career in either Illinois or in the Senate--he's a political neer-do-well similar to a so-so high school quarterback trying out his luck in the NFL--an amateur trying to put his personality, not experience or accomplishments, into the big leagues [just for the heck of it, try to answer question #2, above--good luck!].

BTW, Hillary is still neither my first or second choice, yet I must admit the chances of my ## 1 & 2 are looking slim.

1. I don't care whether Hillary is likable or not. It is precisely those things that everyone hates about her that will make her a great president.
2. Can someone please tell me why it makes sense that Obama is portrayed is the anti-Hillary when it comes to likability? I understand he is a wonderful orator, but in debates and interviews he is completely underwhelming, has no personality, and gives answers that are just as canned as any politician's.

How does this make sense and how can you not say this is about sexism over racism? When Bill was in power the thought was "Too much Hillary. She has too much power" and now that she is running the thought is, "she had no influence or meaningful experience during those years." Which is it, people?

I don't really understand african ameican voters. Hillary campaign is attacking Obama using stereotypes such as using drug, selling drug. Stereotypes about drugs hunt african americans everywhere.(media,workplace,public places etc.)
It's astonishing to see a lot of black civil rights leaders are still supporting Hillary and being quiet on her campaign comments about drug. I don't understand what is going in african americans' brains ?

You keep missing the point: Just what or which CHANGES IN POLITICAL POLICY has Obama ACTUALLY accomplished through his own initiatives?? ZERO!!

Forget about his trips and speeches--name ONE bill in the Illinois legislature or in the Senate which he introduced or co-sponsored which resulted in better political change!!!

Obama HOPES for change, but has yet to do anything to actually bring about change. In other words, Obama wants things he has yet to demonstrate the ability to bring about.

He's simply neither qualified nor productive enough to become the "leader of the free world"--maybe a junior Senator from Illinois, for now. In the future, perhaps more if and when he actually accomplishes something positive regarding change for the better.

After reading Hillary's book "Living History", I'm amazed at what she's accomplished despite the prejudices she's had to overcome just because she's female. If she has been assertive, then perhaps it was necessary in order to bring positive change to benefit the majority of people, especially women and children around the world. In my mind she's a compassionate leader and a lady. Let's face it, it's a man's world. A woman needs to step up to the plate with conviction and determination, as well as a caring nature. Her actions prove to me where her true feelings lie. People say they want change....what a change it would be to have a lady as President! What a wonderful gift to women all over the world who suffer injustices daily. What a positive message that America stands for equality and justice for all! As Hillary said in Vienna and in China in 1995 at the World Conference on Human Rights: "It is no longer acceptable to discuss women's rights as separate from human rights...For too long, the history of women has been a history of silence. Even today, there are those who are trying to silence our words." Hillary has spirit and commitment as well as heart and experience and exposure in the world arena. Let's make sensible changes, America!

Hilary is "damned if she does,damned if she doesn't"! If she mentions her mother and daughter folks say she should stick to the issues! If she doesn't talk about motherhood and such, she's an abberation! She is an extremly intelligent, hardworking, caring, Patriot,mother, daughter, and wife doing everything she can to make this country what it is suppposed to be!
