The biblical story of Jesus was taken from the cult of Mithra, which was one of the main religions at that time. Mithra was suppose to have walked on water, turned water into wine, healed the sick and raised the dead. Sounds familar? This was done to convert the pagans into Christianity. If Jesus was here, he would be laughing his head off.

Huckabee closes in Florida

Huckabee is the finest candidate among the Republicans. No Democrats can compare with him. He must be the next President of the United States of America.

Huckabee closes in Florida

"Strategic Vision = Push Polling"

I think you're onto something there... bet Mike has these guys on speed dial by now.

Huckabee closes in Florida

I am absolutely astounded that Huckabee is getting this much press, even with the ignorant so-called Christian community. Both candidates have comparable educational backgrounds that qualify them to lead the United States (Huckabee's bachelor degree in religion from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia is roughly equivalent to Romney's cum laude law degree and Baker scholar MBA degree from Harvard, right?). Both candidates served as governors of states that face equally complex problems (Arkansas, with its population of 2.8 million and gross state product of $87 billion, is pretty much the same as Massachusetts, with its population of 6.4 million and gross state product of $318 billion, right?). Both candidates have pre-political experience that qualify them to be President (Huckabee was a pastor of several Southern Baptist churches in Arkadelphia, Texarkana, and Pine Bluff, Arkansas and served as president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention; no doubt equal to Romney's founding and taking of Bain Capital from a $37M fund to a $50B fund in 20 years and rescuing the 2002 Olympics). And both have wives and children that would make a great First Family (compare Huckabee family photo at http://rubechat.kfan.com/forums/thread/2297213.aspx with Romney family photo at http://blog.electromneyin2008.com/about-mitt-romney/ ). So you can see why I am having such a difficult time making up my mind . . .

Huckabee closes in Florida

Liberals, wake up and smell the coffee! This is according to an update of a U.S Treasury study. So it is not an academic study but rather a government study.

"To come with $63 trillion in present value, you would have to have an immediate and permanent roughly 70 percent hike in federal corporate and personal income taxes. Alternatively you could immediately double the payroll tax. So we are talking about gargantuan adjustments here, huge problems that we are facing, and a lot of this has to do with the fact that the society is aging. We are currently facing 33 million people over 65. But when the Boomers retire there will be about 77 million people over 65. And we are currently handing out per old person roughly $30,000 on average in Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid benefits. But when the Boomers retire we are going to be paying them a lot higher level of benefits because these benefit levels continue to grow much more rapidly than wages per worker. So think about 77 million Baby Boomers getting roughly $40,000 per head, and you see the magnitude of the problem. We are talking trillions of dollars. $44,000 times 77 million is a very big number. It is in the trillions, A couple trillion dollars a year in obligations. So I do not think it is an exaggeration to say the country is bankrupt."

Kotlikoff sees passing Huck's FairTax as a vehicle to derail economic meltdown: http://snipr.com/meltdowninprogress

And he's not alone: http://snipurl.com/econsopenletter

Huckabee closes in Florida

MIKE HUCKABEE RAISED HIS OWN SON TO TORTURE DEFENSELESS ANIMALS TO DEATH! HOW WOULD HE RAISE YOUR COUNTRY?

Huckabee closes in Florida

FairTax should appeal to all those who don't care about eternal life in the lake of fire. Look beyond his beliefs and you still have the best candidate for president

Huckabee closes in Florida

Carol, Jesus Loves You

Huckabee closes in Florida

Jesus will bless those who glorify His name. Nader in the 3 elections I could vote in (the Nader vote was a protest- Kerry was gutless & unprincipled, Bush had made and continues to make, a lot of questionaable/bad decisions, not the least of which was, as little as it's discussed, suing on behalf of the girl getting affirm action curtailed at U. of Michigan which sealed the deal for Nader in my book):

I learned in the last election that the Dem/far left angst over a candidate varies directly with the fervor with which Republicans and Christian Conservatives go out and vote for that candidate. Huckabee might just win. I'm a Christian who thinks he's been a bit tactless with his Christianity in his ads and that Romney Mormon comment though he apologized, which is making me lean to McCain a little if I had to pick an Rep., but to watch the handwringing lefties do over Huckabee is rather hilarious. It was seriously so sad, watching all my grad school friends (in DC, to put this in context) dying over Bush's reelection. It was amazing how invested they were- I mean, I was too, but the hate these so-called liberals spewed and the despair over something beyond their control...

And please stop accusing Republicans of playing the religion card when all of the Dem candidates are Christians too. It's amazing how much people care about dogs and how callous they can be toward fellow American PEOPLE who are struggling, the kind of people I believe Huck genuinely has a heart for, in no small part due to his experience as a pastor. Christians, or at least professed Christians, have always run our government. We've done pretty good so far. But we do need to make sure that competence and ability is the primary factor in selecting a president-Christians just believe that faith, fairly and rightly directed, can be as big an asset as these other qualities.

Huckabee closes in Florida

I'm sure that all the candidates are "nice people" I think the last thing we need at the moment is that last little bit of fear they have of us being taken away.

Huckabee closes in Florida

Hey Brandon, FL:
I must admit I'm shocked at the level of unintelligent bigotry and ridiculous Mormon comments. It so happens I'm uncomfortable with a bigot in the white house.

Huckabee closes in Florida

I, for one, am utterly stunned (and pleased) that a candidate of the quality of Huckabee can come from 'no where' once again and firmly set his sights on an excellent crack at the Presidency against all the big biz, big machine, big bucks, and big talk jerks - wow, you really have Democracy in the US after all. Go-o-o-o Huckabee.

Huckabee closes in Florida

Huck's FairTax - A fringe idea, NOT

Renown economist, Dr. Laurence Kotlikoff, has stated (9/26/2006),

"Yes I think [the U.S. is bankrupt] because if you look at our long term fiscal obligations and compare them with our tax receipts that are projected to come in, you end up finding the difference in present value is equal to $63 trillion.
