He won't sell out to the big corporations for contributions like the typical politicians, and he won't pander for votes from Hispanics. He possesses strong convictions, and never flip flops. It's called integrity, people.

If I were from Illinois, I'd be embarrased that my state elected a man who is as naive as a kid that has flunked the 2nd grade twice. He has advocated a major increase in border security spending, the hiring of more Border Patrol agents, and the building of a security barrier along the entire length of the border. Tancredo supported a bill passed by the House last December that would impose stiffer fines for employers who hire illegal aliens, add new mandatory minimum sentences for immigrant smugglers, and mandate automatic detention and deportation for immigrants caught crossing the border illegally. In addition the House bill would add mandatory sentences for illegal immigrants who re-renter the country after being deported. Tancredo opposes current Senate proposals that would implement a foreign guest worker program, broaden legal immigration, and provide amnesty to illegal aliens currently in the United States."

Can anyone argue with that? I'm all for immigration, as long as it is legal immigtration, but when people come into this country illegally, then they have few rights and should be deported immediately. Companies caught hiring illegals should not only be fined; the CEOs should have mandatory jail sentences (one month per illegal hired). If anyone is caught renting a house or apartment to illegals, then the apartment or house should be confiscated by the government and sold to the highest bidder. If we did that, then illegals would have no work and no place to stay. I promise you this would decrease the flow across the border.

In Arkansas people say the illegals do jobs that citizens don't want to do, like work in chicken plants. That's correct, because the wages are so low and the work is so hard that anyone raised in this country knows it is unfair. If all the illegals were gone the law of supply and demand would come into play and those $8/hr jobs would start paying a lot more. That would be good for everyone.

This country was built on the back of immigrants, but they were mainly legal immigrants. We need to keep it that way.

Arkansas Man

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

As a constituent of his district, he's an embarassment to Colorado. Endorsement? He's not going to endorse anyone.

Say hello to a new Third Party Candidacy.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Hey Fred from Orange County, CA...
go and fuck yourself!

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Whoo hooo, happy days are here again. Tom Tancredo has nothing but a one track mind. A true leader for this country, has to know lots more then just one thing. There are so many issues on the board, did he even have an opinion about health care. Oh yea, I'm sure it had to do with immigration.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Those who ridicule Tom Tancredo's positions are living in a utopian world. No border control equals chaos; it's the position of the spineless, and politicians who promise anything to be voted in.

I imagine you don't lock your house or car either when you're away?

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

I am in Rep. I still don't think the rest of GOP (& the Dems) really understand that the majority of people in this country favor tightening of our borders and the stop of illegal immigration. Tancredo had never opposed legal immigration, but he is one of the few who recognize how dangerous it is to have unrestricted borders, both allowing in terrorists, and the harm they do economically. Spare me the rhetoric on how much taxes illegals pay. They get much more in benefits such as assisted housing, food stamps, LEAP, free schooling, and free medical care than they pay in taxes. The shear number of illegal Hispanic immigrants is beginning to divide us culturally. I have nothing against Hispanics. I work with quite a few, and find them to be good people. But, it is important to become "American". That means English as the offical language. The number of illegal immigrants has made it far too easy not to assimililate. Spanish appears everywhere to make that much easier to put off learning English. Think Quebec, and all the talk of seccesion they have. How long before the lack of assimilation raises that question in California, Florida, or Texas? It really is a numbers game.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Thanks Tom T. for bringing the immigration issue to the forefront. Diseases like whooping cough, Hepatitis A and tuberculosis--to name a few--are making a huge resurgence in this country thanks to illegals. Opposition ILLEGAL immigration is sanity. As Dennis Miller says: welcome to America - just sign the guestbook on the way in.
All you idiots who cry racism and xenophobia everytime someone wants border security laws enforced need to get a clue. Is there ANY country in this world that just tolerates undocumented border crossing freely or lets people overstay visas without repercussions? Of course not.
Nonetheless, I say good riddance to Tancredo - fewer people on stage for the debates now. Although let's face it, he wasn't in it to win it, just to draw attention to the border security issue. I sometimes think his extreme positions and statements were just made to draw attention to his pet issue.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

LOL, he has a losing message that is out of touch with mainstream america. People were able to see through his so called border concerns. This guy has unsurmountable hate for hispanics especially Mexican immigrants.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

This must be the liberal, lets hand our country over to anyone who is not an American blog. I am a disillusioned Democrat, who appreciates the honesty Tom Tancredo represents. He has principles, and stands by them. Lets see any other politician do that.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Sorry to see Tom go IF he truly does go. I love his point of view on illegals. I think everyone has the right to come to this country the same way, the legal way! I just wish the media had given Tom 1/2 the time they gave everyone else. And Tom was right when he pointed out that the other candidates are just pandering when then went on the spanish speaking channel.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Who?

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

great position on one point: immigration...goofy on everything else...the republicans are like that...one point specialists that can't agree on a platform...maybe they will figure it out after 8 years of ...Hilobama in 08

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

M. Make Mexico part of the U.S. No kidding, think about it. You dont see Canuks pouring over our Northern border, why, they have an honest Gov. one not ran by the drug zars. A goverment that gives a danm about its people. They pour over for jobs and a better life. We all understand that and would do the same if we were in the same situation. At the rate industry is moving to Mexico they wont have to come over much longer anyway. But the law is the law, period. Without the rule of law you have anarchy. You cant subvert the law to ease your self inflicted guilt. It only makes sense, put it to the Mexican vote, see what they want!. Make Mexico part of the U.S. do away with NAFTA and the super highway. Get rid of the drug zars, Create infrastructure, create a belief that there vote will make a diff. in there lives. During the 1800s and early 1900s millions poured into America from all over the world. You'd have to be stupid or purposefully obtuse to believe that all of them arrived "legally" with papers. Compassion and American values led to the establishment of Ellis Island, compassion for those who were here and for those who were coming. Time for us to show that compassion again. Where is the "Ellis Island" processing center for the newest wave of immigrants? Or is the message that we are no longer that America and no longer have those values? Or do we only do that when its Europeans and caucasians? I'd like for all of the posters who claim to be descended from "legal" immigrants to show your papers and prove your ancestors arrived here legally or que up for the deportation line.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Continue Tancredo's fight against all Illegal Immigration !
by using.................( NumbersUSA )...............
You will find prepared messages to forward to your
representatives, House and Senate, Grassroots endeavor that really works and has been successful
so far in defeating bills giving Amnesty to Illegals.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

One day soon the people of this country will be wishing they had more Tom Tancredos fighting to keep this nation as ONE! The idiocy of many of the posters here does not amaze me, but it saddens me that so many are either misinformed from our mind-controlling main stream media, totally ignorant about world issues, or simply spouting because they're full of hatred! Tom Tancredo was a CIVICS teacher before he entered politics. He is a man of integrity and I know that because I am another who had the blessing to meet him in person! Those of you who are calling Tancredo and his followers racists and fear-mongerers had better spend some time doing some research on the SPP and North American Union. Perhaps you should also volunteer for the border patrol for a month or two and see the crime, drugs, and gangs that are entering our nation because of our elected leaders who refuse to listen to American citizens! Tom Tancredo is one of very few voices American citizens and workers have left in this country!

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Enough PC, lets put it out there. Why in the hell do some of you insist on refering to yourselfs as Latinos and Mexican. Arent you Americans? I`m Irish and I dont run around calling myself Irish, or Irish American! My country first, where I was born a very distant second.
No Irish flag in my home. By its very definition, diversity divides it does not unite. If you Mexicans are so proud of your country why dont you do something about the dismal state its in? Why dont you kick out the drug zars and thugs that run it. You have all the natural resourses the US does, its the same land. And I am completly sick of hearing that Mexicans will do the jobs Americans wont. What an insult to both Mexicans and Americans that some believe that only a Mexican would do a certain type of work. Do you all really believe that big business wanting Mexican labor is anything less than modern slavery. Most illegals live below the poverty level. Subsisting on less than $15000 a yr. There will always be people to pick the fruit or mow lawns or whatever. If my salad goes up then I will pay more for it, period. My Grandparents came to Calif. during the depression and worked in the fields proudly. The work will get done. I have always taught my kids to respect all work, janitor, lawn service, ditch digger, lawyer, ceo, waitress, doctor all the same. Honest hard work no matter the position the same respect is given, no work is beneath you. The law is the law, without it we are lost. Come over legally or not at all. Better yet fix your country and stop telling us whats wrong with ours. I would never presume to sneak into a foreign country and start running it down. Ask for rights I do not deserve, social secruity I have never paid into. Welfare I could not get in my own country. We had a revolution here to set things right, do the same, if you love Mexico then fix her, oh, yes, its much easier to bitch than to take action. Better to beg and break another countries laws than to fix your own! Yes I know I`m a racist, that very convienant term used to quite an opposing oppinion and bolster your self worth. Very played out. Since when did the truth become racist! Basically I`m against all and any immigration no matter the race.

Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Mark,
You have to stop living in the past man. Are you so naive to believe that the natives in this country were peacefull berry gathering peoples who turned bad when the horrible whites showed up. Dont even try and discuss ancient America you obviously know nothing about. The tribes that lived here wared on one another for thousands of years, wiping out entire regions of people we will never know anything about. And since you bring up Cortez, my God, the Spanish did more to harm the native peoples than any other single group, all in the name of greed and the Catholic church. Do your research. Who will decide when the Island you inhabit is full, who, when, when its to late and your to full. When you can no longer support or feed or house those huddled masses. Your problem is you cant think behond your own lifetime. You tell me then, when is to many to much. Put a number on it. Oh, you dont know, but certainly not yet. Pull one more on the life boat untill you swamp it and kill all aboard, though your concience will be clear, thats all that really counts, you tried and many died. We are all bigots in our own way, everyone. deny if you will, you know in your soul its true. If we were black on the right side and white on the other we would dicriminate against those who were white on the right side and black on the other. Its human nature. Thats why we have laws, the rule of law must apply, rational thought not emotional/wishfull thought must prevail. In my eyes you are American no matter what, when you point out to me your something else/ American, then I have a problem with that.
