Voting for the worst policy decision in our life times does not make one 'experienced'. It -IS- high time America elected a woman as commander-in-chief. When a self made woman of conviction and talent stands up and demonstrates the character that can stand as an example for us all - we should stand behind her - with conviction and fortitude. Hillary Clinton is not that woman. She is the spouse of a former and popular President. In a nation, 300 million strong, are we to believe that the person most suited to be the President just happens to be related to the last President ?!
Are we really to believe this is the case ?
Will we make this mistake, again ?

Barack Obama has the strength and certitude to take America in a new and positive direction - a direction that our evolving nation - being formed all around us all as we pass through our daily lives - very much is in need of. There really is an immediacy of the 'now' that we all share. It is obvious the the coronation of HRC is not on the agenda in Iowa. The polls are saying one thing - america needs more options than HRC and Iowans will be sending more options on to NH, SC and other states to consider.

This is a good thing for democracy and democrats. Coronations are never good things and usually backfire. The more people see Obama, Edwards and Biden the more they like them. The more they see HRC, the less they like her. She has gone from over 50% to under 25% in Iowa.

A full year of scrutiny will only increase the number of people who don't like her.

She has even managed to alienate a core Clinton constituency - African Americans - by going after Obama on drug use and the fact that his paternal grandfather was Muslim.

Iowans are right to not coronet HRC, but send a mix of candidates forward.

The more important questions are 1) which opposing campaign fed this bit of misleading nonsense to MSNBC, and why didn't they report the source; and 2) why is it that MSNBC and other mainstream media seldom mention Edwards except to knock him. If they weren't so intent on painting the race as Clinton v. Obama, our Democratic Party nomination process would be more open and democratic.

The media plays an enormous role in the daily life of Americans. Humongous conglomerates dominate television, newspaper, and all other forms of media. Now they have expanded their powers, so much so that they now control primary elections. All that has been on the news is "the big three".
Clinton knows she doesnt have what it takes to be president. She has to bring her husband along for influence and use her femminist card all the time. How can people actually support that? As well, i find it hard to support someone who's opinion changes every few days. We already have one puppet for a president and we all know how well puppets do in the office.
As for Obama, how good a president will he be if he has to evade numerous questions each debate and drop his race card. The way he pulls out quotes from Martin Luther King jr. is disgusting. We are not dealing with civil rights, though much needs to still be done, we are seeing if he is a suitible candidate for the Presidency, obviously not.
And Edwards, what a joke. I'm not even sure what to say.
Now that we've dealt with the "top three" there are a bunch of really well qualified candidates who have concrete ideas, visions, and plans to carry out those visions. Personally I think Ricahrdson is the best candidate as I put a tremendous value on the environment and his work as the Secretary of Energy and as the Governor of New Mexico give him the most experience. Biden is also a good candidate. I just wish the American public would open their increasingly ignorant minds and not make another mistake.

Perhaps you should note polling that finds that Obama's followers are significantly better educated than Hillary's. Also, why are you offended "as a woman." The reason we highly-educated Obama supporters dislike Hillary is not her sex, but instead her unearned status (nepotism - nothing more) and her phony "experience advantage" (sorry, first lady is a ceremonial position. Would you like brain surgery from a brain surgeon's wife?) and the disreputable campaigning of both Hillary and her husband (case in point, Bill's shameless Cheney-esque fear-mongering on Saturday). Educated or not, you'd have to be a fool to vote for Hillary and expect any significant resultant change in U.S. practices and policy.

Cathy, I'd rather have a candidate who is not afraid to talk to our enemies. That is the foreign policy experience that matters to me. If you can honestly tell me what Hillary's positions are I'd be very interested in hearing them. She changes her mind so often I can't keep track of them. Senator Obama for all of his lack of experience was one of the few people who spoke up against the war. Senator Clinton never read the National Intelligence Estimate that pointed out the hidden truth about George Bush's war when she voted to give him the authority to go to war. The main reason she voted for it was to show she was as tough as the guys so she could be elected President. By the way Senator Obama is a man who I believe is in his 40's. I would not consider that a boy. As for his comments that he might not run again for the presidency shows me that he might consider other challenges of equal importance in this world. Maybe this shows the presidency is not the end all and be all of public service.

I might also say you did not respond to the comments I made about Hillary's unethical campaign tactics and the Clinton's lack of honesty. If these are the people you want back in the White House to be our leaders because you feel they have experience and the desire to run for office over and over again I feel sorry for the future of the Democratic party. That is why we seem to elect the same families. Is there not anyone other than a Bush or a Clinton who can be president?
