Romney as "dishonest" - well what could be more liberal about that behavior? - liberals are known to dance around the issues and blame their opposition all of the time - symbolism with no substance.McCain and Huckabee are more liberal than anyone knew. In politics and campaigning, opponents are bound to showcase the differences they have and would be foolish not to do that. Gov. Romeny provided fact checks for each claim - how much more honest can one be?

We face serious issues and challenges and must have a grown up at the helm - Mitt Riomeny has proven himself to be just that - a grownup who accepts and successfully deals with problems. Thank you and your family, Gov. Romeny, for making the necessary sacrifices to run for President - we are very lucky that you have been willing to put yourself under the microscope and subject yourself to the rude and ludicrous comments - those of us who take these challenges seriously appreciate you.

Romney v. Romney has already downplayed ties to Planned Parenthood after revelations that Ann Romney donated $150 to the group.

Gamble said the pic was snapped at an event at GOP activist Eleanor Bleakie’s house and that she “clearly” remembered speaking with Romney at the event. At the time, Romney was running as a pro-choice Republican against U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.).

“My recollection is that we talked about his senate candidacy and the fact that he was supporting Roe v. Wade and a choice agenda at the time,” Gamble told the Herald. “It was a Planned Parenthood event. We were there to discuss our programs and our advocacy.”

The event was held the same day Ann Romney wrote a check to the pro-choice group. Romney has previously said he had “no recollection” of his wife writing the check to Planned Parenthood.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom called the flap “a dog bites man story.”

“Governor Romney used to have a different position on abortion,” Fehrnstrom said. “He is now firmly pro-life and has made it clear that as President he will advocate for a culture that welcomes life and protects the sanctity of life. This is the same path that Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush followed.”

Because of his abortion shift, Romney has been branded a flip-flopper by his GOP primary opponents, as well Democrats. Romney has stated he became pro-life in 2004 during the stem cell debate in Massachusetts.

Beyond attending the event, Romney filled out a 2002 questionnaire for the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund in which he said he supported Roe v. Wade, sex education in schools and increased access to emergency contraception.

“With Mitt Romney, this has been more than a flip-flop. This has been an extreme makeover,” said Planned Parenthood spokesman Angus McQuilken. “What voters need to know about Mitt Romney is this: where he stands on any issue is always a moving target.”

Romney reacts to photo:
+ Romney dismisses photo suggesting he attended Planned Parenthood event
dwedge@bostonherald.com
Romney v. THE "African Race" is cursed, marked with the flat nose and black skin. This "curse" will be on them until all the other descendants of Adam have resurrected from the dead, and that will be soon enough to remove the curse from them and their posterity (As taught in LDS "scripture" found in Journal of Discourses,vol.10,p.110; vol.7,pp.290-291; vol.2,p.143; vol.11,p.272). It's interesting that you denigrate Romney as racist based on a speach made a hundred and fifty years ago, in a much different setting than now, by a completely different person. Then you select a few chosen statements completely out of context to prove your point.

In complete honesty, why don't you refer to this individuals credentials, and record? If you're going to make the tenuous correlation between what his faith is and what its doctrine is at least refer to the entire message of said discourses. It paints a completely different picture.

Since Mick raised this highly bigoted attack against a man and his faith - by his own definition - hold him to his criteria. Research the facts for yourselves.

If his faith - in this land of so many faiths, creeds, and philosophies - is the main issue, we have serious problems. We'll never develop tolerance for anyone, anywhere at this rate.

It is intriguing that many comments here are based on a very shallow understanding of any of the candidate's policies or beliefs. I know for one that there have been many bigotted comments regarding Romney's religion by people that quite obviously have little or no understanding of what it truly is, what its doctrines are and what its followers believe.

I find it unwise to pull a couple of non-contextual comments from any source - religous or otherwise - and try to formulate a fair and intelligent evaluation of any of the candidates. Do your research. If you're looking for a reason to hate someone, you'll definately find it. As you will if you're looking for a reason to approve of them.

If that is the criteria for the political process, God help us all.

Romney v. Mick, I refer you as well to http://www.romneyexperience.com for a thoughtful response to the racist issue.

"Conspiratorial" comes to mind as the charges of "flip flopping" (and other strong rhetoric) have an undercurrent of implying a premeditated and disingenuous plot to only "say the right things" to capture the presidency of the U.S. This is the stance held by many on the political left about Gov Romney. It is position I do not hold.

Romney v. It is surprising how much people want to remove religion from government and public affairs but at the same time we attack people based on their religion. Let's stay focused on the issues and leave people's religious preference out of the equation. Mitt would be a fine president. For those of you who are concerned about him being a Mormon I would encourage you to learn more about Mormonism from Mormons instead of believing what you read in anti-Mormon literature. Mormans have their faults and have had made some mistakes in the past but haven't we all?

Romney v. All these people have is the past. It takes a very small-minded person to bypass all of Mitt Romney's numerous accolades in his life to come down on him as these people have. They'll completely bypass the fact that there were definite changes in the way he viewed the Pro-Life cause between 1994 and 2002. For instance, in the latter campaign, Romney specifically noted that he was personally Pro-Life but would uphold the laws of Massachusetts and maintain the status quo--which he did by vetoing every single instrument of change sent before him by the Mass Legislature. I'll further note I find it humerous to think these people believe Romney is pulling the wool over the eyes of men like Jim DeMint, Judge Robert Bork, Jim Talent, Paul Weyrick, Jay Sekulow, and the editors of the National Review. Romney has the leaders of the Republican Establishment and the conservative movement behind him. That ought to speak volumes. But to those who detest Mormons and to those who demand a lifetime purity test, he will remain a target of bitter attacks because of the simple fact that they see he is the best candidate out there by leaps and bounds and there is nothing they can do about it.

Romney v.
