Long Beach, CA

Flip Flopper Mitt Romney made his millions, with his 'buy-out firm.'

An 'investment firm' goes in and invests to help get a company back on its feet/higher up in the corporate food-chain. 'Buy-out firms,' "if you will"/Romney's newest over-used cliche'/ cripple a company, forcing its stock prices to fall, then buy up the stock until they own controlling interest, just to turn around and sell the company, often to foreign interests, as high as the market allows, creating a hefty profit for themselves at the expense of lost jobs/lost wages for thousands of Americans.

If you buy Romney calling his "buy-out firm" an "investment firm" he has more "Romney-tales" he'll sell you, too. It will only cost you 'America as we know it' for future generations.

Just because Romney can make a buck in the business world does NOT add up to being a leader of government. PLEASE check out Romney's Terrible Record as Massachusetts' governor. If Romney could NOT manage a small state, he sure CAN'T manage 50 states and the MYRIAD urgent PROBLEMS immediately facing the next president.

For those of you who don't know by now, during Romney's 4 years a governor, Massacusetts:

Was the ONLY STATE to post ZERO GAIN in EMPLOYEED RESIDENTS

Was 3RD from the BOTTOM in CREATING NEW JOBS (would've been 2ND from the BOTTOM but Louisiana was destroyed by Katrina)

Massachusetts' median home price ROSE 95% !! (40% for the nation for the same period)

222,000 !! MORE residents moved OUT of the fair state than moved in, during Romney's 4 years--the ONLY thing that kept MA's unemployment rates down.
(Center for Market Studies, Northwestern University, Boston Globe, 07/29/07).

Romney allowed his office to fund:

Gay/Lesbian SEX-ED--WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT OR NOTIFICATION--for Grade School children AS YOUNG AS KINDERGARTEN.
Again, Romney didn't have to fund this, but he did.

'Dances' for CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 12 to 'meet up' with ADULT Gays/Lesbians/Transgenders/Bi-Sexuals.
Romney didn't have to fund these, but he did.

CHILDREN'S gay-pride-type parades where ADULT gays/lesbians... off the streets WERE ALLOWED TO JOIN IN, in full regalia.
Romney didn't have to do this, but he did.

BE SURE to check out http://www.massresistance.org
This is a Massachusetts Conservative group.
Click on "The Romney Deception" and other links down the pages for indepth, documented report of 'Romney's Reign' over Massachusetts.

HOW do Romney's business practices make a STRONGER AMERICA for the thousands of Americans who lose their jobs or are forced to take cuts in pay because of Romney's 'forced buy-outs' ??

HOW does Massachusetts' failing record during Romney-years recommend him for BUILDING A STRONGER AMERICAN ECONOMY ??

WHO thinks Romney's funding of 'gay/lesbian children's programs' helped raise FAMILY VALUES for THOSE American families, THOSE American children ??

If Romney canNOT maintain his composure when people just ask him questions regarding the religion HE BROUGHT into his campaign--NOT forthright with American voters in his religious claims (as in other 'Romney-claims'), without becoming hot under the collar, wound tight-ready to leave the room, impatient, rude, a vile name-caller, He SURE WON'T be able to hold up under the BIG-DOG Purposeful insults in the BIG-BOY International Political arena. THEY SURE WON'T care if Romney pouts or turns red in the face. Romney won't be able to hide behind the word 'religion' when he is being hounded and REALLY-persecuted by WORLD-media for Every political AND personal, religious, move he makes/AND the moves of his family--their good, never good enough and their bad, very bad. How often will America have to be embarrassed by Romney swinging his arms around stammering, red-faced, when THE WORLD doesn't see things his way? He WON'T be able vaunt, or to hide behind his RELIGION then, which has served him so well during his campaign. The WORLD won't care about Romney's religion, REGARDLESS the many LDS prophecies about LDS taking over the world.

Mike Huckabee was elected 4 TIMES to serve his state. And he left Arkansas in BETTER shape, for his time served. Instead of a long list of American companies he as shut down or sold out to foreign interests, he (and his wife) have a very long list of serving their community, their state--doing good simply for the sake of doing good.

John McCain also has a very long, very honorable, resume' of service to his country.

Think, America. This is the most important American presidential election in generations. Our next president MUST hit the ground running, able and ready to hold up Under Extreme Pressures on the home-front AND the international stage. We need to choose someone with Exceptional past governmental experience who is Level-Headed, who holds up under fire, who has Proven to NOT be a fickle-fly-by-night-power-monger, whose WORD withstands harsh scrutiny, who has already Proven to put America First. This is NOT Willard Mitt Romney.

Oh-eight (D): Raising big bucks

These so-called netroots(Clinton/Edwards shills) are just pissed because Barack Obama did not 'kiss their ring' when he began running. Edwards was asked whether he would bring in "both corporations and labor and healthcare groups and doctors" into the health care debate. Edwards said, "I think you try to bring everybody to the table. You want their participation, you want to make the system work for everybody. I think there's a difference between a healthcare plan that builds on the existing system but deals with some of its deficiencies and problems as opposed to a complete new way of doing healthcare in America. The latter will engender huge opposition. And it will engender a lot of just plain political opposition. If on the other hand you're taking the system that exists, dealing with the problems with it, making sure everybody gets covered, it's just much more likely to be achievable." [MYDD, 2/7/07] http://www.mydd.com/...

THIS IS NOW

Edwards Said That You Can't Talk To Insurance And Drug Companies And Get Universal Health Care. Doing the most you can under the law to create profit for your shareholders is your job. But Washington can be blamed for failing to fix a tax code that encourages companies to use shelters, shift jobs overseas, and add to the deficit in the process." [FORTUNE Global Forum, 11/12/02] http://www.gwu.edu/...

THIS IS NOW

Edwards Said He's Going To Take On Big Corporations And Their Greed. Voted against funding NO Child. Now he wants to fix it?
He voted for the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy -3 times.
He voted against the estate tax.
He voted for the Bankruptcy Ripoff bill('01).
He voted for bankruptcy reform which has hurt many lower income families in this country.
Edwards voted for the Packer Ban and the Right to Work bill.
He voted against restricting consolidation of Big Meat Packing..
He voted against public financing -2 times.
He vowed not to take public financing and now he has conveniently changed his tune and the party will carry this burden. There is no legitimate plan after Iowa.
He voted against the Wellstone VA funding amendment.
He voted for free trade in China.
He acted like he was critical of offshore tax shelters for the wealthy in 2004, and then in 2005 he worked as a consultant for the Fortress Investment Group whose hedge funds were incorporated in the Cayman Islands. They foreclosed on homes in LA and even Iowa.
Edwards voted for storing nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain in Nevada (which IMO Nevadans will not appreciate).
John Edwards has the worst environmental record according to the League of Conservation voters ratings? '59 for JRE----- 96 for Barack Obama'.

Edwards CO-SPONSORED and promoted(in videotaped speeches) Lieberman's S.J.RES.46, the Iraq War Resolution, and also later voted for it in the full Senate to authorize the use of military force against Iraq. KYL-LIEBERMAN comes to mind. The more I look into John Edwards' record, the more troubling it is. Because the support for the war has gone down, are these hawks trying to play both sides of the fence? He didn't read the NIE report and lied and said he had at one point.
In the 2004 VP debate, Dick Cheney brought up John Edwards' senate record, John Edwards clammed up. In this past CNN debate, when Hillary Clinton brought up his record , John Edwards sat down and clammed up, again.
So-called electability gave us John Kerry/John Edwards in 2004(Edwards never brought a single southern state to that ticket). John Edwards lost his home state. Edwards lost his home county—Moore County—by more than eleven thousand votes, 24,714 to 13,555. He also lost his hometown by more than 300 votes, 506 to 191(to GWB).
He is not a terrible person, he is just not a winning ticket. There is a devastating interview with George Stephanopolous where he seems to apologize for every bad vote while he was a senator.
He referred to the war on terror this campaign season as a bumper sticker(will not help in the GE).
Bad judgments over and over again should not give him the keys to the White House. Good judgment matters. Being a serial apologizer is not good enough.

Oh-eight (D): Raising big bucks

Former supporters take aim at Edwards 12/28/07
by Christi Parsons

Democrat John Edwards has been critical of the involvement of outside organizations that spend money to influence voters.

But some former supporters are questioning how committed Edwards is to that idea, as union leaders who support him are now doing exactly that on his behalf.

"He said he would change Washington, and we believed him," says a new letter from some 2004 Edwards supporters. "Times have changed, and so has John Edwards."

But Edwards has said that, while he wishes the outside groups wouldn't run those ads, he can't control what an independent organization chooses to do.

And officials of the Service Employees International Union today spoke out in defense of their Alliance for a New America, which they set up to advocate for union issues.

The alliance "enables working people to pool their resources to gain a voice on the key issues facing America as the country heads into the 2008 elections," Dave Regan, SEIU District 1199 president, said in a written statement today.

The letter writers are behind Democrat Barack Obama this time around, and it was Obama's campaign that released their letter today.

"(T)his time, we support Barack Obama for President," the letter says. "He is the ONLY candidate in this race who’s not getting any help in Iowa from Washington lobbyists, special interest PACs, or the Washington-based organizations known as 527s. John Edwards can and should call on his former advisor to stop this effort.

From the Early Show:

Harry Smith: But here's what I don't understand, though, because this alliance for a new America, isn't it run by a former campaign operative of yours?

John Edwards: It’s my understanding that the guy who runs the organization worked for me years ago, yes, that is true.

ps......
Nick Baldick last got paid by the campaign in the second quarter of this year. Which does feel like a long time ago.

-----Trying to squeeze out other candidates---

As we mentioned yesterday, Clinton and Edwards were caught talking on an open mic after the NAACP forum. Parts of it were inaudible, but it turns out they were talking about how to exclude lower-tier candidates from future forums/debates.

Here’s what was said per the Associated Press (via Fox News microphones): “'We should try to have a more serious and a smaller group,’ Edwards said. Clinton agreed. ‘We've got to cut the number. ... They're not serious,’ she said, then thanked Obama and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich as they walked by. Turning back to Edwards, she added that she thought their campaigns had already tried to limit the debates and ‘we've gotta get back to it.’”

At one point in the debate, Edwards laughed when he followed Kucinich, who called for the impeachment of Dick Cheney. “Dick Cheney, huh?” Edwards said, smiling and laughing. Gravel got the only boos of the debate when he called the audience “gullible.” Moderator Russ Mitchell chided Gravel, saying he broke the rules agreed upon by calling out other Democrats.

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/13/269346.aspx

video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLT4wa0qmzM&eurl=http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/31/9228/4114/911/428281

Oh-eight (D): Raising big bucks

"Senator Hillary Clinton of New York has emerged as the field's realist, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois as its idealist, and former senator Edwards of North Carolina as its cynic."
--I was going to agree with this, and I do 2 out of 3. But I can't figure why Clinton would earn the title 'realist'. Perhaps being the most bland, and since she's neither an idealist nor a cynic, that leaves realist, so that must be right. What's more interesting is that I've always likened idealism with Democrats and realism with Republicans. Our nation needs a blend of the two, B.H.
