The reason Paul leads is simple: if you look at Techpresident.com it tracks the supporters of each candidate on the site and Ron Paul by far has the most Facebook supporters of any Republican candidate - he has 64,811, leading Huckabee's 30,802 and the rest of the crowd.

Paul's supporters are notoriously active and loyal online. Give em credit for that. But it obviously skews the results in things like this and does not represent a scientific sample by any means.

It's in MSNBC's best interest to push Ron Paul out of the contest, simply because Paul's policies don't align with NBC's parent company interests.

One quick example: Ron Paul's stance on foreign policy suggests less military spending on foreign deployment and superfluous Pentagon programs. General Electric, NBC's current parent company, received $2.1 billion in military contracts in 2007. If military spending decreases, GE may lose some of that income, which wouldn't please the board or shareholders. Huckabee, on the other hand, openly calls for a larger military force, which translates to many forms of increased military spending. That's just one, small example.

Everyone keep in mind that NBC is a corporation with advertiser and parent company interests in mind. It is a source for entertainment, not proper journalism.

This is a very sad state of affairs when the media slants information to this great of an extent. Ron Paul is getting no mention when he should be mentioned. First they say he has no chance, then he get's 10% in a state that is not favorable for his outcome, a state in which past president elects have done worse, and the media still discounts his input. He is not placed in a forum that he has every right to be in, he beat Guliani in the caucus, and he was beating Thompson in the recent polls, he got is double digits that Fox says he requires. Fox has no excuse to cut him from the forum now, but they still do, they even lost backing over it. That is pretty sad. If you report the peoples news, you react to what the people want, not was Fox wants.

Then we have articles like these out all the time, skipping over some of the most important material, the true winner in the percentage count. This is just sad. You must include the winners name in an article about a poll like this, and let people know that he really is the winner. Like this:

Ron Paul favorited in the Facebook polls, with Huckabee the Iowa winner doing well ahead of the others in a second place position (I would like them to mention that he is 21% behind the leader Ron Paul, but they can skip that if they want, as long as they inform the public that Ron Paul is leading, Huckabee is in second at best.)

The spamming story just doesn't hold water. Paul just has way more support among the most active Internet users. It's a demographic that MSNBC, CNN and Fox just don't get.

Think about this. The numbers that the "spammers" put up are always so consistent. It's not hard theoretically to game some online polls, but it _is_ very hard to know how to game poll after poll after poll so that Paul always winds up at 35-45%. Why wouldn't the "spammers" ever give him 80 or 90%? And gaming a poll would only take one determined person. How is it that none of the other candidates have a single "spammer", especially Barack who also enjoys a devoted young, online following?

Come on.

Lastly, if you conduct an experiment, which a poll essentially is, you don't doctor the results if you don't believe them. The scientific approach is to report the assumptions, methods, _true_ measurements as they actually happened and any conclusions you feel those measurements support.

So Ron Paul won this poll. If you reasonably suspect that the poll was gamed, say that Ron Paul won under suspicious circumstances, but report the truth. Having results you don't believe does not support the conclusion that Huckabee "won".

I'm a little confused. I'm relying on what I remember from elementary school and what my teachers told me about how numbers work. Some numbers are positive, some are negative. As far as sckewing results and not representing a scientific sample, last time i knew if there more of my people than your people, then my people win. Theres nothing scientific about it. And to discredit as some have stated here any of Ron Paul's numbers automatically discredits every single poll and poll number for anyone anywhere that is put into question. I am afraid in this situation that it's either you do or you don't. In this case it is obvious they have chosen we don't but the numbers don't lie.

The real problem here is the fact that Huckabee has been bought. For all of you who support him because he is "honest" look at his track record on taxes. If you believe he is a man of integrity than review his list of current advisers and you will see that is Foreign Affairs adviser is part of the CRF. Learn to read between the lines of HIS SOUND BITES. He may say he wants to reduce taxes but he wants to FEDERALLY IMPOSE a sales tax of 23%, he has no intention of changing our current foreign relations. Huckabee also believes that we have a "Disease Care" system in our nation, meaning the FEDERAL government should help regulate yearly screenings to prevent you from getting sick. He has his hand in the CRF and a little opposition to really fear if he is elected. Not only that, he may be a Christian, but using his religion to blatantly sway voters and continuing to act as if this purly a CHRISTIAN nation is wrong. If you would like another 4 years of Bush policy than please by all means vote Huckabee. Also, if you believe in our welfare state and its ability to continue supporting itself based on no value what so ever, then please vote for a democrate.

MSNBC has never been credible to me and reading this headline has further concreted that view point.

Dear Mr. Merten and Mr. Gates,

The calculator on my XP computer system is busted...It says that 22 is smaller than 43. When in fact, as you have pointed out, this is incorrect. Please tell me how I can fix my computer to accurately reflect the proper mathematical equation. I have also realized that all my calculators do not work as well. Also not working is... my pencil, pen, paper, fingers, etc..as well as everybody else that I've spoken to. I called my 2nd grade teacher and she is very concerned that she is and has been teaching incorrectly for the past 35 years.
I cannot even drive because I am afraid of getting a ticket once I pass 22 mph because in "reality", I will be going much faster than 43 mph. Please help!!!

p.s. Hey Bill...Does this math apply to your money too? Please drop me a line.

It should be also mentioned that the votes for Ron Paul were'nt considered in New Hampshire and obviously weren't counted which means the ballots are rigged as well!!?? Not surprising since the Diebold e-voting system is seriously flawed and it's software programmer admitted that it's rigged.
The only real evidence of who's doing well in these elections is online polls and to make certain of the correct count come election primrarys the machines should be boycotted and a written ballot made compulsory.
