No big deal for Obama. The newspapers combed through every bit of Obama's legislation and files a few years ago to try and find some dirty connection to Rezko, and absolutely no legislation Obama ever passed directly benefitted Rezko.

Wait toll Hillary is out of the race. Right now she is hogging the limelight. Once she is out, then some youths will come out and say "i am not a dumb youth, Obama is not experienced enough like McCain". Then the bandwagon youth will start thinking.

But this is a skeleton in his closet that's been there UNREPORTED for a while.

In fact, Rezko's wife purchased a lot adjacent to the house on which the Obamas had successfully bid, reportedly to meet the seller's demand that both properties be sold at once. The Times reported:

People familiar with the transaction said that the sellers did not want to close until that June 15, and that the sale would go through only if someone bought the adjacent lot from them on the same date. Rita Rezko paid $625,000 to outbid others for the lot and later sold the Obamas one-sixth of that land, for $104,500.

The Chicago-Sun Times reported on February 23 that Rita Rezko sold the remainder of the lot to a law firm owned by her husband's business attorney in late 2006. According to the Sun-Times, Rezko's profit from both sales totaled $54,500.

In October 2006, Rezko was indicted on charges that he "used his influence as one of Gov. Rod Blagojevich's closest advisers and fundraisers to seek millions of dollars in kickbacks and campaign donations from firms seeking state business," according to the Chicago Tribune.

I believe that, based on Barack Obama's self-written books 'Dreams from MY Father' and 'Audacity of Hope'/
his work throughout the years to give voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless(poor and union-workers)/ his speeches etc, he is a better candidate. He did not just happen upon Democratic principles in this campaign, he gave up hundreds of job offers over 20+ years ago to go work for $12,000/yr in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Chicago. He graduated magna cum laude/became head of Harvard Law Review/Civil Rights Attorney/taught constitutional law for over 10 years etc. Obama went to work with churches that organized job training and other programs for residents of a massive housing project in Chicago. He persuaded the city to provide summer jobs, remove asbestos, repair toilets, pipes and ceilings. He went door to door, offering help for three years, then went to Harvard Law School. After law school, he registered 150,000 new voters in Chicago. He was finally able to pay off his college debt and buy his home using proceeds from his first bestselling book.

At some point in time, as campaigns become more desperate, I think this will be the area where the "digging for dirt" on Senator Obama will concentrate. I tried posting this elsewhere on this site; don't think it went through. if it duplicates, I apologize.

State politics in Illinois is an unmitigated mess right now; we have an unenviable history of wheeler dealer politics to the nth degree. This year it is Democrats; the past few years it was the Republicans who were on trial. Right now, in addition to the case noted above, Governor B is being investigated for financial wrong doing during his campaign and seems to have said he could guarantee choice state contracts to people who financially supported his campaign. Chicago Mayor Daley is no stranger to investigations into how he runs the city.

My point is, that given all this turmoil and with accusations flying about so many people, it might be tempting for his opponents to try to fabricate a story that Senator Obama is somehow involved in some of this. People have lied before to save their butts or to gain favor with prosecutors. I think this might be a problem if Senator Obama becomes the nominee and the Republicans start digging. I simply don't trust advisors who worked under K Rove.

I think the two were friends and may have had business dealing with one another involving the Obamas' home. I'm vague on some of this, but it can be looked up. In the past, I think Senator Obama called that deal "boneheaded."

Senator Obama also may have written letters urging support for a development deal on behalf of Rezko while he (Obama) was a State Senator, but has said he did not consider that a special favor to Rezko.

As I said earlier, this might be an area of concern for the Obama campaign--I don't know.

This story did not even hit the news this evening. It is a big deal. The media has given Obama a pass. He has not been vetted. The clinton's have been vetted for 20 years. If you want to see Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in the Oval office, standing on Obama's right and left for the next 4 years - vote Obama. Notice how quiet those two con-artists have gone lately? Usually, in these kind of events where a black politcian is concerned, Sharpton and Jackson are front and center. Suddenly, they are on the missing list. They must have been told to keep quiet until Obama gets elected. Another point. If you want to see US troops and US tax payer dollars poured into another money pit like Iraq - this one being Africa - then vote Obama. Kenya, Obama's father was born there, is a basket case at the moment. Gangs of pot smoking whackos roaming around with machettes. If Obama was President, you can bet your last dollar we would be sending thousands of US troops, tons of material and equipment there and then the body bags would start coming back. Ask the Brits about their experiences with the Mau-Mau in Africa in the 1950's. By the way, even though I'm a democrat, I would have voted for Republican Colin Powell had he run but this guy, Obama, is a show salesman. Not a President. That isn't to say I'm happy with Hillary because I'm not but the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. It galls me to say this but I might vote for McCain but way down at the bottom of my list for President is Obama.
