So let me make sure I understand... Fred Thompson is in danger of his campaign being declared not viable, but hes been soundly beaten twice by Ron Paul, and Ron Paul's campaign has already been discounted? Just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight.

I think Thompson will drop out after South Carolina. His campaign is losing speed and followers. Most people don't know that he is a real attorney and has been in politics before.

I watched gleefully as Chris Matthews grew quieter and greener last night as Hilary maintained her early lead. I watched CNN primarily for they are the best, but I flicked back and forth just to laugh at Matthews. I hope he enjoys his big portion of crow today. The only person from NBC or MSNBC that was decent about Hilary was David Gregory. The rest of them constantly put her down and criticized her. Chuck Todd was also not quite as bad as the others. I think it was the influence of
Matthews who is obsessed with taking Hilary down. You can bet that Hillary will not go on any of those CBS shows, probably not even Russert's.
I could not figure out why they wanted an untested inexperienced "Novice" to be president of our country and Thank Goodness he did not win again.
The young people that were out of college for the Holidays is what happened in the Iowa Caucuses.
They think Obama is entertaining and they were bored being out for the Holidays so they voted, they don't even know what his background is but they love his message and his jive.
As Hilary said "words don't equal actions"
I also think the piece that CNN did on his Kenya relatives and the picture they showed of Obama with a huge sack over his back when he was probably 16, very probably woke up a few people too.
I salute the intelligent folks of New Hampshire for voting for Senator Clinton and making her the winner of their primary.

Fred finished at a woeful 1% in NH, and wasn't even in the state yesterday. He was down in South Carolina, bashing Huckabee. He might as well give it up...the one early state that he was really banking on now has him polling at 5% in SC.

Huckabee, Romney & McCain will battle it out in Michigan...should be close. And then Huckabee wins big (bigger than Iowa) down in SC. That sets up a showdown with Rudy in Florida. Huckabee has to really like the way things are shaping up...exactly as his campaign had planned it. If Huckabee manages to win Michigan...this race is OVER.

If I were a college kid I'd be pretty insulted, Lynne. Age is not an automatic guarantee of wisdom, or the lack thereof.

What I saw concretely from Hillary on Monday is that she is smart enough (which we already knew) to follow directions. Based on how she was doing up til that point I would have instructed her to choke up too if I was her campaign manager. And she almost pulled it off. Except for that tell-tale bit of body language, she almost had me fooled. Her biographer called it: Never count this woman out. She will pull out all the stops when her back is up against a wall. And when she does, look out.

I don't know that there is enough drive in Fred Thompson to light up a light bulb. I think that South Carolina will be his last stand; the campaign for him will end shortly after that unless something happens. I am talking a win in South Carolina for Fred Thompson is the only thing that will keep him going. If he gets beaten again by even Ron Paul, he should call it quits and go back to acting. I think that the only person he has beaten on a regular basis is Duncan Hunter. That is sad.
