With 96% of precincts reporting, Clinton beat Obama, 39%-36% -- followed by Edwards at 17%, Richardson at 5%, and Kucinich at 1%.

Someone mentioned Diebold upthread. I have also noticed some new machines in my polling place(made me uneasy).
Assuming that the actual votes were accurate, I never truly trusted these polls showing Barack Obama ahead by 10-13 points. NH was and is McCain/Clinton country. It was a red state until recently.
The Shaheens still have clout there.
The media started talking about 'comeback kid' a while back.
Bill Clinton's stranglehold on my Democratic party will be its ultimate destruction. He cost us congressional seats during the 90's, and will continue to do so. Democrats get this knee-jerk 'DEFEND THE CLINTONS' reaction everytime they are perceived to be under fire(I know because I was like that until this campaign cycle).
The Clinton's were already popular among Dem women, but I truly believe that the 'tearing' up put her over the top. The media(and some bloggers) mocking her afterward gave her the extra sympathy votes.
Bill Clinton's comments about risking(tinge of his Sister Soulja moment) helped her in NH. It will be her demise in states with AA population(esp during the general election). Black people are watching the Clintons. They are listening to his CODED comments(fairy tale/naive/rookie/drug dealer). I have heard AA calls on CSPAN, where this just might swing some vote to Repub(especially if it end up being Huckabee who did attract over 40% AA votes in Arkansas).
Although Barack Obama is and will not play that card, others have and will.
Finally, the ROCK STAR label by the media made me cringe. It played into the Clinton's fluff meme. They constantly mention Dean(youth vote) and Barack in the same breath. Some on other blogs do the same thing.
Barack Obama speaks to all age groups. The ironic thing is that it was Barack Obama's community 'get out the vote project' during the 90's that delivered Illinois for Bill Clinton's election. I guess Obama was not so naive when he and Clinton travelled together.
UNLESS SHE(GOD FORBID) GETS AN INFUSION OF NEW VOTERS IN THE GENERAL, SAY HELLO REPUB PRESIDENT(AA will go for Huckabee). IF HER CAMPAIGN KEEPS THIS CRAP UP(ATTACKING BARACK OBAMA)her prospects are getting slimmer and slimmer.

NH Results (D)

What serious analysis of the polling and tracking numbers is being conducted? Brokaw's hypothesis that the New Hampshire voters were voting for more time for further deliberation is absurd. Voters vote for or against something, not for more time for others to make up their minds. There must be something in the numbers, exit polling, etc., that can explain the surprising outcome. For example, how many new registrations for first time voters were recorded in the days leading up to the primary? I am not not necessarily suggesting fraud, only that there must surely be a rational explanation for the uniform inaccuracy of the polling.

NH Results (D)

TIMES ARE TOUGH FOR MANY OF US. I believe the polling by Zogby, Gallup, Marist and others were correct on Monday nite. However, Hillary's victory was forged on the network morning news shows and cable news outlets on Tuesday morning. All of these shows featured repeated prime morning segments showing Hillary's emotional moment, and personal interviews where she was able to attack Obama's lack of experience and flip flopping with no counter arguments made. In addition, there were segments featuring Bill Clinton's emotional diatribe infatically dismissing any legitimacy to Barack Obama's qualifications and experience to be president, again with no counter arguments presented. Nora Odonnel presented exit poll data that showed, Hillary got 71 percent of the vote from people who thought experience was most important. Whereas Obama got 5 percent. This disparity is very significant and was not indicated to this extent prior to Tuesday's vote. It was only during exit polling the day of the vote, was this disparity revealed. Moreover, Hillary captured an overwhelming amount of the women vote because of repeated news segments showing her emotional breakdown and personal attacks from pundits. Again, this indicates the effectiveness of the news segments that were aired Tuesday morning and all day on the cable news shows. The Obama campaign made a terrible error in not anticipating this would happen on election day, by not having Barack and his people available for counter arguments.
NH Results (D)

Thank God the New Hampshire voters are smart!! Why this happened is because of the way New Hampshire Democrats voted. The "reasons" for this result can be over-analyzed and scrutinized forever. But it won't make a difference. Chris Matthews and most of the people in the media are incompetent fools. They seem to treat the viewing publics as if we are idiots. I am not swayed by anything they say, I try to use critical analysis before believing anything the press says. I think either Clinton or O'Bama would be good for our country. I believe both are honorable individuals who would do the best they can as President. A ticket with both candidates would be amazing. The reality of it is, whoever is elected President, must work within the laws and realities of the Unitied States. The last 7 years of the Bush Administration's total disregard for the rule of law and the Constitution's balance of power edit can not go on. New Hampshire has a tiny poplulation of Evangelical women. They do not struggle with a vote for Hillary. Watch what happens as the race moves back into states where Evangelical women make up a larger population. Hillary has to have Florida and California for a chance. She will lose in Texas. Unfortunately, old enough to die of very natural causes before the end of his first term. Check his running mate carefully, as they will be slightly closer than a heartbeat away.
Huckabee is a nice guy, but not sure about his overall ability.
Fred Thompson...somebody please check for a pulse.
Ron Paul....Ridalin my friend....Ridalin. Actually has some solid stances, but comes off way too squirrely..gives people the willies.
Mitt Romney...The biggest PHONEY ever!!!
Rudi Guliani... has NO platform other than he was mayor of a city that got attacked on 911. Guess Marion Barry would be a good candidate on that premise. What a JOKE!

NH Results (D)

Dear Women:
I am concerned with reports that women are voting for Hillary just because they are supporting a women. As a woman this concerns me greatly. This is no time for women to gather on a gender race. This is OUR COUNTRY! Women fought to have the right to vote and it is our OBLIGATION to respect their sacfifice. Not only am I a woman but a divorced women with 3 children. To those women who are in my shoes tell me how Ms. Clinton can support us or know what it is like to have to choose between food, gas or healthcare. Even if you have healthcare the co-payments add up. Most of the canidates don't know what its like to be without money, without a father, or to be a single parent. Barack Obama knows. He has small children that have to inherit this country too. I know as a Veteran how important Iraq is, what it is like to be away from loved ones. Soldiers care more about their families being taking care of while they are deployed and being able to come home and support them when they are relieved of their duties. I can't believe all their sacrifice and deaths don't deserve for all AMERICANS to take the RESPONSIBILITY OF VOTING SERIOUSLY! Please America, this is no JOKE for any of us. Don't vote Gender Wars, Don't vote against someone because of the color of their skin. In the military were taught we all bleed red. We are one no matter the color of our skin. To leave no one behind. Eveyone talks about the Iraq war but are blind to the big picture. We do need CHANGE We do need to BELIEVE that our COUNTRY can regein the awesome POWER it once had. THIS IS NO TIME NOT TO UNITE AS AMERICANS TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR COUNTRY OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURES AND OUR WORLDS ENVIRONMENT! If we should have learned anything from 911 it is that tears are clear and blood is red and every American shed both on September 11 and that same UNITY must take place again!

NH Results (D)

I support Edwards but I could vote for any of the Democratic candidates, and even some Republicans. Lying to the American People? We're humans, that means that we learn from mistakes, but these "experienced" presidential candidates haven't. Seeing as all we see are hollow promises that never happen. I'm a young voter, I'm still trying to put myself through college, why should I vote for the people who have been throwing away money that could help me, and MY generation through college. I have yet to see education come to forefront here, and its getting sickening to see the same ole' faces getting the same ole' cheering from the same OLD crowd.

If any presidential candidates or their campaign parties are reading this, consider what I'm about to say. You say you want a bright future for America, then look at its' younger generation, I have yet to see anything that benefits us in your campaigns. Foreign Policy? We haven't had one since the "Containment Doctrine" we used on the Soviet Union in the Cold War. Teddy Roosevelt's "walk softly with a big stick" doesn't work here, the "natives" aren't afraid of us anymore. In essence, the decisions that haven't been made, are already hurting us, those decisions could've been made by some of the candidates that are running now. Why should I listen to someone who has "experience" and only says their going to make our "future brighter".

How can people call Barack Obama "inexperienced" when he has a PH.D. Is he "inexperienced" because he hasn't been infected with the "experience" of being able lie and to deceive people properly. Which is a stained plague that has blurred everybody's visions of how our democratic system works.

If someone promises change, that is new, I'll take their word over someone who hasn't made the change I'd like to see. I respect each and every candidate, but I'm not going to vote for someone who has had their shot in Washington, and has not produced viable evidence of making a brighter future for this country, and my generation, I'm sure as heck not going to vote for them.

I've seen the "experienced" politicians tear this country to pieces for almost half of my life as a citizen of the United States. Kleenex would go out of business if we brought back the founding fathers, to see what this country has fallen into, they would spend the entire time sobbing at its' state. I'd rather see someone get a shot, who I know won't embarass this country abroad and at home, who is "inexperienced" at the lies and deceit that I've seen this country fall for, for almost two decades. Call my generation ignorant of the American past, I'm a history major, I take fact and fact only. And I don't like what I see.

NH Results (D)

Believing in America, working together, bridging the political divide for the good of everyone ... These are noble and wonderful aspirations. But you also need a plan -- and, more than just a plan, you need to know how to make your plan happen.

And this is what Barack does not do. He enunciates the dream, he stirs the heart, with exceptional skill. But when we ask "How?" he changes the subject.

It's not enough to thrill your audience into waves of euphoria. It's not enough to get them all stirred up and then simply hope that a direction will magically appear in which to channel all that energy. You need more than the dream; you need a vision. It always baffled me but I can't deny that I saw instances of it repeatedly. Hillary Clinton will not win any state that has a strong majority of evangelical women...but that doesn't mean that, should she be the Democrats' candidate, she's going to lose the race; any state that has a strong evangelical population won't vote Democrat regardless - they've been too brainwashed at this point to vote Republican no matter what, mainly over such social issues as abortion and gay rights. So, to heck with them. All Hillary has to do is win the same states that John Kerry won plus either Ohio or one of the states that went to GWB in 2004 by the slimmest of margins and she's the next President of the United States.

I wonder if Chris Matthews can stop making sexist comments about HRC long enough to actually analyze the lack of evangelical vote as a factor in her victory?
