Of course, what all these members of the Mitt fan club want to do is not know the truth. The people that Mitt governed said he was the worst governor in their history. The state next door, New Hampshire, had both its leading newpapers, the left leaning Concord Monitor, and the very right-leaning Union-Leader blast Mitt as being a phony. And how can you believe anything Mitt tells you - he lies about everything all the time. A few years ago he said he marched with Martin Luther King. Then he rescinded that comment. Recently he said he saw his father march with King. Then when that was erroneous he said,"Well, it depends what the meaning of the word 'saw' is.." Sound familiar??? I could go on and on - and will be happy to provide much more evidence. Think for yourselves people.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – In a move rich with irony, Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign released a new television advertisement decrying “the culture that surrounds our kids today,” despite the fact that Romney served on the board of Marriott International, which generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue through in-room pornography services at its hotels.

In stark contrast with Romney’s role at Marriott, which brought him over $100,000 per year, Senator Sam Brownback lead the fight against indecency and asked the hotel chain to stop offering pornography in its rooms.

In a 2004 letter to J.W. Marriott, Jr., the chairman and CEO of Marriott International, Brownback wrote: “I am concerned, however, by a recent CBS report which cites the fact that in-room pornography generates approximately half of total hotel pay-per-view revenue in the United States, approximately $250 million annually. …

Businesspeople and families should not be exposed to a pornography-friendly environment when they seek rest and relaxation at hotels while traveling away from home, nor should they be victims of suggestive advertising for porn while browsing a pay-per-view menu. As for both Romney and McCain, I can't stand either one of them. There were clear, explicit benchmarks to measure the success of the surge. Some of them have been met, but some of them have not been met. Until they are all met and until the surge delivers the expected outcome (political reconciliation in Iraq), I cannot say that it is working. Therefore, this "the surge is working, we are winning in Iraq" is ridiculous. What are we winning. And none of the republican candidates (aside from Ron Paul) will admit that there was no justification for us to invade Iraq and the Bush administration tried to manufacture justifications untruthfully. Iraq was in no way responsible for 9/11; they were not on the verge of attacking us; Al Queda existed in Iraq in no greater numbers than most other countries, etc. We could go on, but the truth is that the Bush administration purposely mislead us to make us believe these untruths. The fact that any of these candidates condone this, let alone applaud it is sickening. That's the fundamental issue. Obviously we are in Iraq now and have to find a responsible way to win and end the war, but why should we trust someone who condones and gives the Bush administration a pass on misleading us, the blunders of the war, etc.? I for one will never trust someone like that. It's hard for me to get past their Bush cheerleading.

re: Larry from nowhere, I want Leadership not liker-ship. I'm tired of having politicians trying to be my fishing buddy. I prefer someone who (though it might hurt my pride to say it) is smarter than I am. Wouldn't that be a nice change of pace away from the last couple of gentlemen that we have had.

Now a few thoughts on Iraq. Iraq (Saddam) started a couple wars, one with Iran and one with Kuwait. Saddam conducted a genocidal rampage against the Shiite minority in the southeast of Iraq, and also against the Kurds in the northern area. Yep kinda like somebody that we fought during WW II. Complete with mass graves and cover ups. Stole the water out of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers that would have been used for crop irrigation so that he could fill his own personal man made lakes. He was a terrible man that committed innumerable atrocities. I'm in Iraq and I don't regret a thing.

McCain's lifetime voting record in Congress is rated a solid 82 percent by the American Conservative Union. He's a fierce fiscal conservative, unwaveringly pro-life on abortion issues, staunchly free-market on trade and economic matters, favors making the Bush tax cuts permanent, supports nuclear power as a clean-energy alternative, champions school choice as the vital lever for education reform, advocates smaller and more accountable government, and, of course, is a lifelong proponent of a strong national defense and an assertive foreign policy.

The "real conservatives" should realize that McCain is their best chance at keeping the WH and they should shut up and support him.
