Since both Clinton and Edwards have already received the support of these 527 groups, why should Senator Obama be any different? Another case of the other campaigns "hoping" that Senator Obama is really just as naive as they say he is.

BTW, the reason behind brouhaha is perhaps less obvious in translation. Calling someone a "sin verguenza" is not just averring they they are shameless (as your translation indicates): it is very much a slur/accusation that is simply NOT done in polite discourse. Slurring someone as a person without honor crosses a major line that might not be apparent to Anglos. Novices think that politics in the Latino community is about translating your English message into Spanish, but pros understand it is about culture, whether the ad is in Spanish or English. Interesting that they did not call it factually incorrect. Nor can they. The fact of the matter is that supporters of Senator Clinton filed suit to make it harder for workers at casinos (a sizeable portion of which are Hispanics) to vote. Bill Clinton then voices his support for the suit on Monday and reaffirms such support during an interview with a reporter on Wednesday. So tell what is factually incorrect with the statement that Senator Clinton's campaign supported a lawsuit that sought to make it harder for working men and women to vote? Seems to me her campaign just does not like being called out on her effort at vote suppression. I thought such tactics were what Republicans tried to do to Democrats, but I guess the Clinton machine has decided to take yet another play from the Karl Rove playbook in an effort to salvage its campaign.

Having lived in Las Vegas for over a year I know there is a large population of illegal foreign nationals, employed by the casino'a and the entertainment industry. Hopefully there is enough supervision to detect at the Nevada caucases illegal voting. The culinary union which I belonged to has thousands of workers, who are not legally in this nation and will without hesitation break any law to gain an advantage. According to the 2006 U.S. census, it is estimated there are 610,000 Latino's in Nevada. Voting is a citizens right, a privilege given to us by the U.S. Constitution. Looks like advocate judges are interpreting the law, as they see fit. Example allowing Caucases to be acceptable in a gambling Casino, where illegal aliens voting would be a travesty of our Democratic process. Does the law of Perjury apply in a Caucase environment, when it come to voting for a presidential nominee?

I think Obama should come out himself and say, I don't agree with this ad. Somehow I don't think he will, because like the rest of them, he's a politician and he's doing whatever it takes to win. I don't blame him, but just remember, Clinton is taking heat for something they didn't endorse, which was the law suit. This is just politics. This has been my point all along. You are never going to be able to stop 527's or independent groups from speaking out on your behalf, even if you don't like what they have to say. Romney may not like the attacks against McCain in SC, but he will definitely accept the votes that come his way because of it. This is despicable. How many times over, would Hillary be called a racist if she ran ad's like this?
She wasn't even behind the lawsuit to stop voting in the casinos, The NEA was. (Though, I do agree with them; the idea of having caucuses, or election activity of any type in a freakin' casino for chripe's sake, cheapens the office for which the election is being held. We might as well have voting in liquor stores, strip-bars, and cat-houses.)
I'm curious to know why Obama and his people are being allowed to get away with all of this, and why the media never takes them to task for any of it.
They really have run a filthy, dirty campaign, and tried to blame it all on Hillary.
It is this kind of abject behavior on the part of Obama, that would never allow me to vote for him under any circumstances.

With two great candidate why don't we just stop now and have a co-presidency? Look. The teacher's union filed the lawsuit independantly of the Clinton campaign. That's not in dispute and I'm even willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they weren't coordinating with the teacher's union. But the difference here is that when asked for comment about what was happening Bill came out with his "cullinary union members get 5 times the impact of everyone else if this goes through, blah blah blah" rant. Never mind that I don't see how one vote equals five just because they vote in an at large precinct.

The Clinton campaign, whether or not they had a hand in filing the lawsuit, SUPPORTED the lawsuit in their rhetoric. And quite frankly, if I was elligible to vote at on of those at large precincts, I would vote for Gravel before I voted for Clinton.

The Clintonistas should not be shocked and shaken if those at large precincts go Obama by a wide margin. You reap what you soe.

Ok, let's look at this...the Clinton campaign alienates black voters in favor of the Hispanic vote; when Obama wins the Culinary Union, Clinton supporters try to disenfranchise the Hispanic vote. More of the 'plausible deniability' dirty politics. Now, after the ruling goes in favor of the DC who set up the at-large caucus (with full approval and signature of Clinton supporters), the Clinton campaign is back to being for Hispanics. And here comes this ad - which basically states the attempt to disenfranchise Hispanic voters, Clinton campain wants Obama to distance himself from it...what next? The courts dismissed the case and let the at-large precincts stand, decided on almost a year ago...you can't attempt to disenfranchise a group of people and not expect it to backfire...
Let's drop all this 'attack the opponent', and simply state your views...
Obama's resume is pretty impressive - including being elected 4 years before Clinton. I've yet to see Clinton's resume out there - and, this 35 years of experience I keep hearing about? Clinton's only been a Senator since 2001...my suggestion to all voters out there? Do not take what you hear in ads, speeches, etc. as 'gospel', look at the candidates' records of service. Find out for yourselves...read, look at facts, rather than 'innuendo', take what you read in the paper as perhaps 'slanted', pick out the facts, and then make your decision...it's important for America that now, more than ever, we do NOT repeat the mistakes of the past. America needs to look FORWARD, not backward!

He pointed to mostly single mothers on welfare, as being drunkards and to hear him say it were bankrupting the country. The welfare budget was 1% of the national budget, just more Republican (BS) of beating up on little people who could not defend themselves.

He busted unions, gave massive tax cuts to top 1% of richest Americans, and gave every penny he could rake and scrape out of the middle class to defense contractors.

He wasn't allowed to answerer questions on his own because of his lack of really understanding issues, he sleep in the White House, during meetings.... It's endless, of what a truly disaster of a President he was, with regard to everyday working people. He was a good speaker, a great salesman, but a terrible President for working people...

I'm insulted that Obama chooses "Reaganism" as a platform to speak to, or try to crystallize his message of change. Obama's an armature and the Republicans are licking their chops at the prospect of running against him.

Having Union workers caucus inside a Union shop (business premise) is a situation ripe for abuse. In a caucus, voters are supposedly free to stand up and speak for the candidates. Group A the teachers union and others that supports Hillary files a lawsuit to stop Group B from being able to vote in the caucus. Many of the people in Group A were the ones that set it up so Group B could be at a caucus thinking they would support Hillary in the first place. Group b supported Obama. Then after Group A's attempt to change the rules they (Group A) set up. When some of the people of Group b made a add that said Hillary who is supported by Group A tried to stop them from being able to vote in the caucus. So all of this is Obama's fault. What am I missing here

Question, is the ad untrue? Why is it "divisive" because the ad is in Spanish? I am an undecided who is leaning Obama. The people on this blog remind me of why Bush was elected twice! This ad was not run or paid for by the Obama campaign. I'm sure you will not hear the line "I am Barack Obama and I support this message". If the candidates are going to begin having to apologize for such ads then you can bet that you will only hear more and more of these ads. It wouldn't be long before have outside groups airing outrageous ads about their own candidate hoping that it sticks and embarrasses their opponent. I hope all of you can see where this can go if we don't all start to take deep breaths.

Again, This ad was paid for and produced buy an outside group. Anyone with enough money could do the same thing without ever having to consult with any campaign. It would be similar to taking some of the outrageous comments made here and making the candidates apologize for them. This is, in some ways, similar to the Clinton campaign saying they had nothing to do with teacher's union lawsuit. They probably didn't but it was brought forth by an organization that obviously supports the Clinton campaign. If Hilary would have come out and distanced herself from the lawsuit as Obama did with this ad, there would have, and should have been far less criticism of her. However, Bill Clinton clearly came out and supported the lawsuit.

I think it's these two events that shows you how these two campaigns differ. One embraces disingenuous actions of an outside group while the other discourages it.

Is it true that there is a 527 with a grainy, black and white ad of a black man that could easily be mistaken for a younger Obama, snorting lines of cocaine (I just heard about Obama's brave admission that he used to do cocaine. Pretty gutsy thing to admit when running for President against the right wing)with his name, "Barack Hussein Obama" plastered across the screen, then going to black has the camera zooms in to his pupil and a color video of Obama speaking to schoolkids begins playing. There's some awful voiceover about "inspiring America's Kids"...

Has anyone seen or heard of this? It certainly would be much worse than what the Culinary Workers Union has produced against Clinton. How is he going to stand up to these ads against a John McCain?

As for the ad we are all talking about: Most of us lived through the constant assault on the Clintons and my memory of the entire, continual attack was that the Clintons always prevailed and had incredibly high favorables throughout the entire ordeal. There's nothing they haven't already faced and Survived. Says a lot for her candidacy given what the 527's are capable of doing.

The lawsuit approved by the Clintons to disenfranchise Las Vegas workers provoked the Union into running the ad against Clinton. As usual, the Clintons' do anything to win approach keeps coming back to bite them in the ass.

Obama runs a clean, grassroots funded campaign and would never condone this ad.

In Iowa one of Edward's managers left his campaign to form a 527 group to raise money for attack ads against Obama. Edwards is such "a fighter" he just couldn't do anything about the 527 by one of his managers against Obama. He is hypocritical, and staying in the race for VP with Clinton.

Obama, and certainly not his manager or any of his staff had anything to do with the Nevada ad against Hillary.
