LAS VEGAS - Amid growing worries about a worsening of the U.S. economy, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama proposed a $75 billion economic stimulus plan on Sunday that includes worker tax credits, a one-time pension supplement and help to homeowners facing foreclosure.

The plan would include an immediate $250 tax credit for workers, which could double if the economy worsens, a one-time $250 supplement to Social Security payments, a $10 billion fund to help homeowners facing foreclosure and a $10 billion fund to assist states facing budget shortfalls amid lower tax revenues.

"We need that middle-class tax cut now more than ever — not five months from now or five weeks from now, but now," Obama said in a statement. "I'm announcing a plan to jump-start the economy by putting money in the pockets of those who need it most and will spend it quickly."

The key is that none of the Senators has yet endorsed a candidate in the Presidential race.

An Open Letter to the Jewish Community:
Over the past several weeks, many in the Jewish community have received hateful emails that use falsehood and innuendo about Senator Barack Obama's religion and attack him personally. As Jewish United States Senators who have not endorsed a candidate for the Democratic nomination, we condemn these scurrilous attacks.

We find it particularly abhorrent that these attacks arc apparently being sent specifically to the Jewish Community. Jews, who have historically been the target of such attacks, should be the first to reject these tactics.

We won't dignify these falsehoods by repeating them in order to refute them. Instead, we will express our outrage at these tactics, which are being used to demonize a good and
decent man and our friend and colleague. Attempting to manipulate voters into supporting or opposing one candidate or another based on despicable and fictitious attacks is disgraceful. These false and malicious attacks should not be part of our political discourse.

All voters should support whichever candidate they believe would make the best president. We sincerely hope that Americans will make that decision based on the factual records of these candidates, not false charges circulated by anonymous mass emails.

McCain is light on solutions, and for someone who talks about straight talk, doesn't even have the courage to say he is not a Republican, but an Indepdendent.

I could not vote for him under any circumstance, even in the general election against a Dem. I would be betraying what my party stands for.

I recommend Mitt for President. I have met Mitt and he has integrity and is modest. He has experience and solutions that will make this country great.

Should Thompson drop out, I hope he endorses Mitt, as I can't see him endorsing either Huckabee or McCain. Romney and Thompson have been the closest to attracting the establishment, conservative, true Republican candidate. (I think he would be doing better if he had Mitt's energy and passion.)

if you would actually look at Romney objectively (and yes research what he has to say, what he has said, what his positions are, etc.) instead of going along with what the media and every one else says about him, you'll see that what people and the media say is not true.

All I ask is that you look into his positions. You will be surprised. They have been feeding you a load of crap for months now. Every time they mention Romney on t.v. they use the words "flip-flop" "change positions" etc., and everyone just eats it up without realizing that they've given you no concrete evidence or support. Do you even know if he ever really changed his mind? On what? And if abortion is the only thing you can think of, then is it right to call someone who changed their mind on one issue a "flip-flopper"? (And don't forget Reagan changed his mind on the same issue, after he'd been a politician. Romney has always been consistent on the Pro-Life platform during his entire time in office. His change came the first time his decisions would affect law, and they stayed the same throughout his entire term).

You don't have to believe anything I say, I just ask that for something as important as the next president, that you take a little extra time to read what he has to say. In his own words. If you don't like it, then fine. But please don't base your feelings on what the media tells you. Come to your own conclusions.

All of the candidates think they are the best leaders to keep us safe. It is just that safety is a relative issue in terms of the economy, war, families, etc. There is not a single political candidate who can keep us safe from everything no matter how big government gets. Right now, millions of Americans are running on fear and candidates are playing to those fears. We all think that the government is the answer. It is like a college student returning home because life is just to hard without Mom and Dad to take care of them.

No wonder the Democrats are already announcing their victory. The GOP is so scrambled in who they believe in that the entire party is likely to be threatened. What will a dismantled Republican party give us in future elections? Right now, conservatives are asking all of us to root for Mitt Romney who currently leads in deligate votes. McCain is ahead in most of the other polls. Huckabee is the pride of the evangelical voters. Yet, Clinton and Obama are doing their own destruction to the Democrat Party in terms of pitting the liberal female vote against the black vote. It just appears to me that room is being prepared for another party somewhere in the middle with the true loosers being the GOP and the Democrats.

Romney has a verifiable history of starting a company, turning another company around, rescuing the Olympics, and turning government deficit into surplus. McCain might take tourists (and thus potential revenue with which people can cut taxes) away from Florida, and cause traffic havoc elsewhere, by not spending on Amtrak.

If McCain vetoes spending bills because they include Amtrak spending (which he has a record of considering to be "pork barrel spending"), effectively zeroing out Amtrak's budget, then the trains might stop running, leading to heavy traffic jams in urban parts of this country. Opposing Amtrak as an Arizona senator (Arizona has lousy Amtrak service, so it doesn't amount to much influence on traffic over there) is one thing, but if he goes to the White House and does it, he's bound to draw a lot more criticism from the nation as a whole. Amtrak is NOT a Pork Barrel project; it is essential to many states and draws customers to tourist destinations in most of the Lower 48.
