There is one fact that upsets me, I don't believe he is Muslim, but I am convinced that he is a racist. Not because he is proud to be the first black man to run for President, I am proud of that as well, and I am neither male or black. I would think a man with such politcal ambitions, would choose a church that is desegregated. There is a reason he is not bringing his church into it. This is exactly what is stated when you go to www.tucc.org his churches website..click on the tab that says, "About Us"

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

A congregation committed to ADORATION.
A congregation preaching SALVATION.
A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

In reading more of this website, their pastor makes a very clear distinction in talking about Africans and African-Americans, which they state they are Afican. The "non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
When I read this my first image was him with his hands folded while everyone around him had theirs on their heart. I know the argument for that one is that they weren't saying the Pledge of Allegance, but why would he chose to cause himself to stand out in such a way? He presents himself as non-racist but surrounds himself with others who play the race card for him. Oprah earned her fortune reaching out to women, black and white. We watched her show faithfully, we bought her magazines and stood behind the great things she's done for African women as well. You can't say that she didn't play the race card for him, because she had a clear choice..she turned her back on all of us women, to support the black candidate. Her website is over-loaded with angry women. He talks about being raised by a single mother. He doesn't mention the fact that she is white, which to me should be all the more reason he could have chosen a desegrated church. Early in his campaign, he started he started saying something is happening, there is a movement happening. If he gets the nomination, I will definately vote for him, but if he wants to be Commander and Chief of the people, for the people, by the people then I think it would be wise if he had his camp stop referring to how many Black votes they got.I don't hear Hillary referring to Susan B. Anthony and all the courageous women who fought through the Womens Sufferage Movement so we could be treated equal and have the right to vote. Mrs Anthony and other women like her, protested for 18 months without fail..and that was just the beginning. His church is the opposite of Martin Luthers Kings dream. If you don't want to be discrimated against because you are black, then stop telling us your black!!! I am not racist, some of my best friends are black, but I can recognize racism when I see it. OH and JJ, you are only one voice, don't tell me who America will vote for!
