Obama has played the race card to his great advantage and manipulated the clintons into a corner. He knowingly went back to regan for the last "fresh idea's" president, knowing it would push Bill over the wall. He then wraps himself in the image of JFK and then snubs Hillary's offer of a handshake last night. To paraphrase - I knew JFK and Obama is so far from him. Obama is a young, rash, angry intellectual with no idea of how to move us to the middle as a nation. He just keeps repeating one nation - hope - one nation - hope... At some point there needs to be some action verbs in those sentences. And speaking that aloud - I flashed back to Teddy Kennedy's disaster runs for the presidency - when political observers also kept encouraging Ted to use some action verbs. Ted Kennedy was and is the ultra liberal who - if allowed - would give away all money to anyone who popped up in the US. Obama is now a page from Ted's dreamsof one nation? That would come at the expense of the middle class. I am the middle class and I can not afford Obama's dreams either.

In SC Obama took 80% (I voted for him)of the black vote and I was an Obama supporter especially after Ted Kennedy endorsed him, but after all of the news media coverage (specifically MSNBC, Chris, Meka, Joe, and sad to say Tim Russert as I thought to be one of the most neutral figures on TV)and overwhelming loped sided coverage about how Obama is going to unite the country, I'm putting my support in Hillary's hat because she does indeed have the most experience and I think she can lead from day one. I heard a very brief mention of the other Kennedy's and Mya Angelou's endorsements and it was simply unfair. I didn't hear one thing about Obama who(Unity disclaimer) basically snubbed Hillary during the State of the Union speech after she walked over to both Obama and Kennedy to shake their hands. He actually turned his back to avoid acknowledging her. I'm sorry but I think he's fooled us all and maybe even a sheep in wolves clothing. Maybe he'll be ready in another 8 years...but not now, that one action alone on last Monday night told me that he is not mature enough to be our President of this Great United States. It pains me to quote "Fair and Balanced" but I have to use it, everyone knows how you all feel, just keep it fair and balanced.

All of this hoopla about one candidate snubbing the other..this is nothing new people..unfortunately. And mud slinging is not a foreign concept in political campaigns.

I watched the president's speech and while I may not agree with all of his ideas and concepts, I felt it was important to listen to what he had to say.

Maybe it wasn't new or innovative, but it was worth the hour it took..of course it could have been less without the standing ovations..by only half of the attendees for the most part.

If people don't like the elected officials or the candidates then do something constructive. Volunteer to work on a campaign for someone you believe in. Be willing to speak out about what needs to change and do something about it.

I have not decided who I will vote for, but one thing is for sure, I don't think this country is ready for a female president or one who follows the muslim faith..someone too old to begin a 4 year stint in the White House, a former mayor, or whoever.

But if I don't vote..I don't deserve to complain.
Name calling, snubbing of someone, finger pointing..wow, sounds a lot like kindergarten. Oh wait, these "children" are running to become president. Scary thought, isn't it?

As for the Obama "snub", a lot of you folks need to get a life. Media included. First, though I've said it before, it bears repeating: too many people have fought and died gaining us the right to vote, and the Tribune's spinning of the moment and comments like "Obama didn't look presidential" (hell, did Bush? Ever?) just prove to me that we don't live in a serious country, a place where people truly value the votes they cast. Second, it's no secret these two don't like each other - why be inauthentic about it? It's not like she offered her hand and he refused to shake it. Really, why is everyone determined to be so dramatic about this?

Grow up, people. Base your vote on who's going to lead the country in the best way, not who didn't shake whose hands. Come on.

Curiously, Mr. Axelrod's reading of the awkward moment at the State of the Union was that Mr. Obama had stepped aside to allow Mr. Kennedy and Senator Clinton to greet each other, whereas only a few hours later the Obama camp released a statement to the effect that he had turned his back on Senator Clinton to answer a question from Mrs. McCaskill. You'd think the Obama people would get their stories straight.
We've seen Obama's childish peevishness before, at the New Hampshire debate. Is this what we want in our leaders? The best that can be said of Mr. Obama was that his behavior was ungracious and classless, not unlike his wife's "Howard Dean" moment in Nevada, screaming into the microphone "Nevada, Nevada, Nevada" over and over again.
And all the talk of "divisiveness" on the part of the Clintons seems absurd by comparison to the nasty jabs that Mr. Kennedy took at Senator Clinton in his endorsement speech at American University yesterday.
Young voters should take a look at Mr. Kennedy's private history and get a grip on the importance of an endorsement by a man who cheated when a student at Harvard, who was arrested for reckless driving numerous times when a student at UVA Law School, and, when already a Senator representing MA, left a young woman to drown to death in the back seat of his car after driving it off a bridge in Chappaquidick.
Mr. Obama appears to be emotionally stunted and not ready for prime time. How will a man like this, unable to control his emotions in any setting, behave in the White House.
And he claims to have voted "present" in the Illinois Legislature because he pushed the wrong button. God help us if he "pushes the wrong button" in the White House.

Scientfic, The HOOPLA is about being an adult and and if Mr. Obama (who I voted for in the SC primary) had not turned his back, maybe we would not be talking about this now. A real adult faces his/her competitors and looks them in eye. This is also about Mr. Obama message about bipartisanship and his commitment to unify the country. Democrocy has always been concerned about the relation of public interest and those catching hell. That's what keeps democracy going. Once that drives up, then the greed takes over.

Law, This is about Mr. Obama bipartisanship message and his commitment to unify our country. Turning his back on Clinton is simply shallow. This is just my opinion. George Bush set a trap for democrats and Nancy Pelosi walked right into it. What a dumb twit, did she not realize she was stepping on a land mine that would help republicans prove democrats are all about tax and spend? Firstly, the 150 billion dollar stimulus grant to select people and businesses to spur the economy is akin to a drop of gas on dying ambers. Many people will use the grant money to catch up on bills or buy Chinese or other foriegn made products. Secondly, the stimulus package is not a gift, it is a loan added to the deficit that will have to be repaid with interest, even by many of those who will not be eligible for part of the grant money. How dumb can democrats be to go for such a discriminating and suicidal deal? Do they not realize at some point taxes will have to be raised or programs will have to be cut to pay the outragious interest on the deficit? If Congress really wants to do something to help the faltering economy, INVEST IN AMERICA, provide jobs that will create income and revenue, provide a 250 billion dollar package to repair the dilapidated roads, bridges, water and sewer systems and outdated power generating systems, ect.ect. Put Americans, not illegal aliens of foriegners to work.
