NEW YORK (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has won the backing of California Rep. Maxine Waters, an influential member of the Congressional Black Caucus whose support could help blunt charges of racial polarization against the Clinton campaign in the South Carolina primary.

Clinton and Waters were expected to announce the endorsement via conference call later Tuesday.

In a statement, Waters praise the former first lady's readiness to tackle the nation's economic woes.

"At a time when the economy continues to worsen and so many of my constituents are losing their homes and their jobs, we need someone with the leadership and experience who can step in on day one to tackle the economic challenges our country is facing," Waters said. "Hillary understands the daily challenges that people are facing and she will fight for them everyday she is in the White House."

Issues of race and gender have come to the forefront of the campaign, pitting Clinton, who hopes to be the first female president, against Obama, seeking to become the first black to hold the job.

I have a serious case of Clinton fatigue.

I am also increasingly wary of the constant whining from Clinton's supporters. They are the epitome of everything that is wrong with the Clintons. They spew hateful rhetoric and demonize the opposition. This is stuff right out of Karl Rove's playbook.

I don't want 4 more years of the Clintons. I have had enough of them. They are polarizing and devisive. There is no way Hillary Clinton can build the political consensus necessary to move America forward. Republicans despise the Clintons. And now the Clintons are polarizing the democratic party. We need a clear break from the acrimonious politics of the past. That is why I cannot in conscience vote for Hillary.

Actually, for Californians, women AND African-Americans, a Maxine Waters endorsement is a big deal. But for anyone that needs an "endorsement" to make up your own mind, then something is really amiss.

As far as Morning Joe (a/k/a Obama Lovefest), I've had to remove the channel, as I can't stand to see Mika and Joe fall over each other every morning to see who can lick Obama's bootstraps quicker. To say that it is a part of NBC News really does a disservice to real journalists that are on NBC.

To all the Clinton supporters - Please explain why? Have we not forgotten who she is....it's crazy to think change can happen with her in the oval office. To change things we need Republicans and Democrats to come together. The Clinton's are to Republicans, what the Bush's are to Democrats - divisive, polarizing figures. We will be right back to the blue-state, red-state nonsense (along with the revival of the conservative conspiracy). Enough is enough. Hillary Clinton is a fine candidate and certainly qualified for the job, but they will freeze her out. She will not get anything done. If you want change, then you need someone that can bring both sides together and get away from the nonsense we have experienced over the past 20 years. As a Democrat I favor Obama because I think he can inspire both sides of the aisle. If not Obama, then Edwards because his last name isn't Clinton. I can honestly say that if it comes down to a Clinton versus McCain vote, then I will have to vote Republican for the first time in years. There are many like me that feel the same way. The Vote against Hillary is not a vote against her because of gender (I'm all for a female president), but it is a vote against the Clintons and their polarizing effect. Some may say that McCain will start World War III, but honestly he isn't going to be any worse than who we have in the office now -- and he might, just might unite Red and Blue states. Those are my thoughts -- I just understand how Hillary can get anyone excited. She's a good Senator (I live in New York) and capable, but you all know deep down that it will be more of the same with her in office.

As per Ted Kennedy endorsing Obama. What a hoot. I am jumping up and down and all around. Ho-Hum, Kennedy is a has been. I did sit up and take notice that Caroline Kennedy was supporting Obama. But it did not change the fact that I will be voting for Hillary Clinton. We need someone that has experience- Hillary.Obama has no experience, whatsoever. People have to vote with their head not their heart. This is what got us in trouble--- people voted in W. because they liked him--they wanted to have a beer with him and have him over for dinner. Look at our country now---a total mess. We need someone to take control and fix things--Hillary can do that. Once we resolve things , then we can have change and Obama can run for office. I watched "Primary Colors" this past weekend on one of my movie channels. I suggest you Hillary zealots do the same (rent the movie or read the book). What they pulled on Obama was classic Clinton politics. As an aside, I didn't know who to support after Bill Richardson withdrew, and I was hesitant to support Hillary with her pro-war votes, but after all of the antics since Iowa, I am certain I won't vote for her.

Chuck if you watch MSNBC you would know that many of their on air personalities, as well as a few of their online writers are most definately pro Obama. No one can say Joe Scarborough is an Obama supporter, however he is most obviously a Hillary Clinton hater. Joe is the token republican on MSNBC, much like Colmes is on Fox. ( except that Joe Scarborough is a notch above) His opinions are clearly expresssed. he HATES Hillary Clinton and guess what, we the public should NOT know that. These people are reporters and should be stating the facts, and taking questions and opinions from professionals. We the veiwing public should not have a clue as to whom they privately endorse. Do you hear this Chris Matthews?? You too Joe and the rest of you. Take a cue from your more regal colleagues such as Brian Williams or Tom Brokaw. I wouldnt know who either of these men wil vote for and I shouldnt know. ( why do you think candidates try to get big name celebrities to endorse them, because there are actually people who will vote for someone just because their favorite movie star is seen with them). There must be someone out there with a big crush on Joe Scarborough who now hates Hillary because he does. Sounds ridiculous because it is.

MSNBC continues to harp on the comment former President Clinton made about Jesse Jackson winning South Carolina in '84 and '88.

Stepping back for just a moment, could it possibly be that there was nothing sinister in the comment, merely a reference that in spite of winning the South Carolina primary, he did not ultimately win the democratic nomination.

I think those of you that see all of these code words that you see as racial, and that a lot of us don't, do the whole process and your candidate in particular a disservice. If this country is ready for a black president, then we should be ready to let go of the past and not see every word uttered by someone as having a hidden racial meaning.

The Clintons are the most disingenuous and duplicitous individuals there are in political circles today. Its not about concern for America's welfare they are running for the White House its their own ego driven need for power. Hillary is not about change… she never even mention herself as a change agent, until she saw that Mr. Obama’s message had resonance with the American psyche. Unfortunately I fear Hillary will get the nomination, and if that is the case I will never vote for a Democrat for President ever again. I’m very disturbed at the lack of insight by people who support Hillary. She has never accomplished anything in her political career… yet people continue to think she is experienced. What is this great experience you all think she has? What great piece of legislation has she championed and has been passed into law that is helping you today. We would have had some type of national health care today, if Hillary would have been willing to compromise back in the early 90s. During her time in the White House she did not even have National Security clearance …, yep that’s real experience. The Clintons championed NAFTA and promoted China… These two moves have diminished the US as an economic power and have caused the loss of millions of good paying jobs to foreign companies. She was completely in support of the Bush and his invasion of Iraq , now she tries to change history. The reason she supported the war was a purely political move for her future plans to run for the White House, she hoped to use the vote to stave off any attacks by the Republicans that she was not strong in defense issues. She did not care for the soldiers being sent off to a needless war that did not address actual national security priorities. It will be another sad day in America, when the Clintons return to the White House. I just hope that members of the Democratic Party wake up from their sleep instead of dreaming of the fantasy that is the Clintons.

One of the best hotels in the USA is Marriotts which is established for the business sector primarily, government and personal travel. Yet when I was injured a workmans comp case they disbelieved me and had me go to work with multiple injuries lifting and working nights. I had no respect! I was asked to sign a paper for agreement without legal representation of which should not have happened. They are part of the case I have and while agreed have never paid the check out. I was sent a letter saying if I needed medical treatment to see workmans comp doctor. I did when I fell from a shower only to be told they and the catholic hospital I was at would not see me. Mitt Romney says he will fix social security what is he going to do barter it into health care or hospitality honesty no way Jose. Mockery of justice in one mormon company as well as the deceptor that says they treat people equal. While working in a hotel in Paradise Valley, AZ a mormon one owned two mormon woman disgraced and rigid ridiculed a native American Indian who was working maintenance and said he was dirt. Well there are good and bad amoung them I have worked with good too. But what did Mitt Romney do for social security while in Massachusetts? Nothing. So how can we believe in his word anyother way? He got paid for helping Chrysler. You did a job. But what did you do to encourage all the mormons buy AMERICAN MADE. There are people out of work in Florida and Cameo Seniors everywhere and the youth of Florida and Kansas and all 51 States are not saps nor deceivers. Integreity in Mitt Romney is as good as the check I have never received for workers comp. You are and have been a part of the congress you try and humiliate. I just want someone to tell me what change Obama is talking about. Can someone just tell me what this guy had done, what are his credentials, how can he bring change, because all I see is he agreeing with Hillary in all the debates…What? I am from NY and Osama has not done anything for me and my state. Hillary is a different story. The reason why my brother and 1000s vets has health insurance after they came from Iraq. The reason why NY got most of the funding it asked after 911. We can see from her resume that she can really bring a lot of changes. It just irony how Ted was so cozy with Hillary whenever he needed her support in the senate, and now he is with Obama. I hope that whenever he needs something to pass in the senate from now on he better point to Illinois. How irony. And for anyone comparing Obama with JFK, please, know your history. There is nothing to compare. JFK was war hero, has credentials that Osama can only imagine. Talking about changes, women got the right to vote in 88 years ago from today, if that is not a change for anyone, then there is something wrong in this country. Maxine Waters is an important voice in the Los Angeles black community, but she is not a national figure. The endorsement may help Clinton with some older African Americans. Thursday night's California debate will be extremely important. I'm guessing Clinton wins California, but by a much narrower margin than the 12% suggested in the most recent poll (pre-South Carolina, pre-Kennedy endorsements.) Independents can vote in the Dem primary here but not in the Republican primary (quirky party rules) -- and that favors Obama. The state's delegates are awarded proportionally, so I'm thinking it's not going to be a huge delegate take for Clinton.

I am not surprised that Ted and Caroline Kennedy threw their support behind Obama. Although their are other Kennedys active in politics, none of them have the appearance of being the voice of change and hope like Jack and Bobby did in the 1960's. The Kennedys can't attach their destiny onto the Clintons because the Clintons are a destiny of their own. So, in order for the Kennedys to maintain there legacy, they have to become synonymous with a new social crusader.
Meanwhile, Obama doesn't need to do much to attack Hillary Clinton. He just sits back and watches the Republican contenders kill themselves vying to be the ONE the will prevent the Clintons from U-Hauling back into the White House. Barack sits back and kicks up his feet and lets the chaos wreak havoc around him. Yeah, he talks a pretty speech, but does he really have much to say? Can he really support unity while he snubs his opponant at an event he knew would be televised? And how would Barack do if he had the GOP and fellow Democratic candidates all focused on his defeat?
Hillary is not my dream candidate by any stretch of the imagination. But Barack has done nothing to show me he has the integrity or realistic direction that would earn my vote.

Last night after the State of the Union Speech MSNBC(Pat Buchanon) reported that Senator Obama did in fact campaign in Florida. According to him(Pat Buchanon) the t.v. add reached out to about 6 million viewers and breached an agreement that was held amongst all Democrats campaigning for president. I have sent emails to CNN and MSNBC about confirming what he(Pat Buchanon) said, but none of the stations have responded. I believe that since Senator Obama, if in fact this is true, should be held accountable for this. I believe that every network should give this story valued running time as they do with every other important fact played, re-wound, and ran again. I hope that you will take action on this; it is valuable and contradicting to Senator Obama's character, if in fact it is proven to be true.

Maxine Waters is not as big of a figure as Sen Kennedy (Fact). Like it or not, he is a powerful Senator, that has been there for decades...While Waters endorsement of Clinton (which is predictable, given the long history), isn't a surprise (or as big). The endorsement of the Kansas Gov is the one that people are going to talk about...
The difference between the 3 major news networks is/has never been fair or balanced. Fox is all Republican, therefore they want Hillary to win the Nomination (because she will be easier to beat)...CNN is more pro-Clinton and MSNBC is more in line with Obama...The problem is not a single network has got it right. This election isn't about Gender/race. I believe that people are supporting the best person for the job (be it Hillary/Obama/Romney/McCain/Huckabee)...I will agree that too many feminest are turning this into the Man v. Woman issue. Racist are turning this into Black v. White/Black v. Latino and no one is talking about the politics...I think Bill Clinton get's more coverage than his wife (the candidate). None of the Woman's groups are complaigning about that, how she has her husband doing all of the attacking!!! I heard, the fraud Maxine Waters, say it is about experience (Hillary's abundance and Barack's lack of). Facts do not support this, Barack has held public office longer (this is indisputable). Being the wife of a politician doesn't make you experienced. Now, let's ask a better question: If Hillary Clinton was the First Lady of Arkansas, why is she the JUNIOR Senator from New York? If she is so proud of her accomplishments, why isn't she representing the state in which she lived for years?

Look, I am a Moderate Republican, who will be voting, and I am going to either Obama/Romney/Huckabee...
