according to obama, the people of FLA cannot go on websites, read articles, or watch TV so they have no clue as to what any of the candidates stand for. Is this because he knows his best way of getting votes is to go out in public and give one of adjective laden speeched about dreams and visions. Shouldnt the facts on his own website and written be substantial enough without the bravado of his one speeches?

Also as for the "snub" some smart reporter better get over to Claire McCAskill and ask her to give the alibi. I can see media spin when its spun. But then again, what else can he say.

Of course it wasn't a snub. Obama always tries his hardest to be cordial to Clinton every time they meet. I personally think the media should issue an apology, because this story can have very real world implications. The media jumped to conclusions, and in turn, made Obama look rash and impolite. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Anyone curious about Clinton's etiquette should look up what happened when Obama started talking about how he might run for President in the Senate...

Today in KS, Obama's event is just starting in a town called El Dorado...near Wichita. Thousands of people there driving in from as far as 3 hours from Kansas City. Small college gymnasium and people waited for hours in tents and a driving snowstorm. The overflow was packed into classrooms but still they had to turn people away. Advertising is campaigning, it is disengenious to say otherwise. Maybe the television stations should have issued a warning, "caution this advertisement may be considered campaigning, do not watch if you honor the DNC pledge".

As for Florida being part of the nation, believe it or not I got past the 8th grade and even recognize Utah as part of the nation. I just wish the DNC would recognize that all states should be able to hold their primaries when they want, and not try to control the process so that they can crown the one they want to be the nominee.

I don't know of any rules that prevented her from going national. And she also has national ads running now. I saw the first two aired in Utah the same day (one from Obama and one from Clinton). What does that matter? Her ads are showing in the same locales as his, so her calling him on it is just stupid when she is also in Florida actively campaigning.

Your "what if" strategy is exactly what Giuliani did. Every other candidate was too smart to do that. However, February 5 is next week, so it's smart for Obama (and Clinton) and everyone else to be running national ads now (before Florida is done)- especially those who have less name recognition. No spin necessary- just some intelligence and foresight.

By the way "loosing" is the opposite of "tightening". I assume you meant "losing".

I was the first and biggest fan of the tv show
Hardball, but over the years Chris Matthews has become

This is not the first time I have seen an unwillingness in Obama to let things go. He behaves like a spoilt child! This just confirms what I have always known - he is not ready for the big league. If he thinks he is going to ride into the White House making MLK and JFK speeches he has another guess coming. The presidency has to be earned. Barack needs to show us what he intends to do in the White House. No more empty speeches. I want to hear serious policy discussions. This is ridiculous! I am trying to see it but I've looked at both photos mentioned and in the first photo he appears to be "snubbing" Clinton; but in the second mentioned by Callimoca to me looks as if he is looking past McCaskill and McCaskill has both hands together as if clapping and looking over Kennedy's shoulder. It appears from this photo that he is snubbing Clinton. I just can't see how this supports his explanation; I would have more respect for him if he had just admitted that he had a momentary lapse in decorum. They both have national ads there, so that isn't an issue.

I do agree with your second paragraph. I think the DNC temper tantrum based on states moving up their votes is dumb. I also think that either all states should be "take all" for delegates, or none should be... in both parties. It's silly to me that they are playing these games. Obama seems a bit immature with this behavior, which he appears to have elevated to a "personal" level. It permeates through the campaign, where he barely acknowledged Hillary's victory in New Hampshire (basically added on top sentence to an actual victory speech) and did not even with a single word communicate any congratulatory note after the Nevada caucus, in sharp contrast to the aftermath of South Carolina, where Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton showed a lot of class and offered strong congratulatory statement that took nothing away from Obama's impressive showing in SC.
The difference seems to be a show of CLASS, which would suit Obama at this point more so than hubris or showoff.
And, as I have pointed out many, many times since Obama got into the race, there is absolutely nothing humble about Obama, which to me (and I believe many) is a turnoff. We have gone through almost 8 years with a guy who has no humble bone in his body, and it is crass and petty in the end.

This is very typical of the archetypical uber-politician. The rules only matter when they work in your favor and it is not against the rules if you don't get caught. Having been a member of the Democratic Party my entire voting life, I find the actions of many in my party disgusting and undemocratic.

I view political ignorance arising from disillusionment and resulting in voter apathy as the single greatest threat to our Democracy. To my mind the purpose of a political party is not winning, but rather to broaden engagement, support, and participation thus enabling what is best for the entire nation. Being the best at manipulating the system to consolidate power by driving would be detractors out of the process may be a fun parlor game for some. But, playing this game so greatly diminishes our beloved nation as to render the responsible party guilty of treason against the greater good. I do not wish to be associated with such a party.

The Democratic Party elites handled the situations of Florida and Michigan very poorly, but the only thing worse than limiting these voices would be the unfair reinstatement of them. These populations must be represented and the selection of the representatives must be, if not contested, fair. Any delegates identified/selected for a specific candidate as a result of these uncontested elections should be deemed unsuitable to be seated at the convention. Absolutely, these voices should be heard, but to seat pledged delegates or donors to specific candidates from states with uncontested elections would be the highest crime against democracy - theft of political voice and opportunity.

What is the solution? Seat party members from the subject states that have no ties (participatory or contributory) to any of the remaining candidates? Delegate selection, ala jury selection? Floor speeches from remaining candidates and 5 hours of live on-line voting from verifiable party members from the disaffected populations? I don't know.

Should the party elites unfairly seat delegates, I will terminate my membership in the party. In unfairly seating these delegates, the Democratic Party will have joined the Republican Party as a party of exclusion and become wholly untenable as a means of representing the varied interests of all of the people of the single greatest nation the world has ever known.

At least we are in agreement on something. That was really the point I was trying to get across, that no one should be disenfranchised in this process. Regardless of who they vote for or who is being fair or who is not, the process should be about what the people want, just let them speak, seat them at the convention as uncommitted and let them vote for the candidate of their choice!

Another company could buy that space. If you do a national buy, you would be wasting money. You should target the specific media markets you want your ads to play in. Obama is a joke. To those of you who believe that "everyone" is against the Clintons do not know of all the unsettled legal issues against the Clinton's just waiting to come out if she does win the nomination. There is the Lincoln bedroom scandal, Clinton library questionable donors, millions from Rupert Murdoch (look this guy up will you), the chinese guy under indictment in California, Vince Foster, and Ron Brown just to list a very few. I voted for Bill twice, but remember he lied on an address to America. I honestly could not have cared less how many women he slept with, but when he lied to me, I took it very personal. He was disbarred and humiliated the Democratic Party with his actions and lies. Granted I hated the Reps for doing this, but he didn't need to put himself in that position either - why didn't he plead the 5th. I know this will never change a mind that thinks that Obama actually has some kind of team that is scheming behind the scenes is crazy - I thought you folks said he is not experienced. One the final note, Hillary thought it was okay when Michigan votes would not matter, but when Obama got the Culinary Union Workers endorsement, the Teachers Union who backed Hillary decided to bring a lawsuit against caucuses being held in the casinos, which Hillary had agreed to before he got the CUW endorsement, and last but not least Hillary agreed not to campaign or have Fla. included, but now that she lost by a land slide in SC she is trying to make them count as well as bring herself down there. Come on this is transparent and she is of the belief that Americans are too dumb to notice these three things, and if we are dumb enough not to see these out and out public manipulations we will deserve another 4 years if she gets elected, but as I previously stated, she could NEVER get elected with her and Bill's baggage. She is not fully vetted at all. She will rally the Republicans like no one you have ever seen. Second, the only ads that ran on an extremely limited basis were part of a national ad buy that could not be split out...but, let's ask the bigger question here. Why is it that Clinton didn't take her name off of the ballot in MI & FL like ALL of her other opponents did. SHE is the only one who did not comply with that request while she tries to get them added back ... after winning with NO competion. That's pretty sleezy. She doesn't care about the PEOPLE in those states ... she cares about the DELEGATES that will put her & Bill back in charge.

You are incorrect in your information. First, NOBODY removed their name from the Florida ballot. They just signed a pledge not to campaign there (although Obama has TV ads running there currently).

Second, NOBODY was required to remove their name from the Michigan ballot and not everyone did. Edwards and Obama chose to remove their name from the ballot, but then tried unsuccessfully to have their names reinstated and also failed to meet the requirement to allow write-ins on their behalf. So Obama's surrogates campaigned on his behalf and encouraged their supporters to vote "undecided" to show the support for Obama.

Hillary did not break any of the rules. She followed the "letter of the law" as pertains to the DNC agreement. Edwards is also following the agreement to the letter (although he took the added step of removing his name above and beyond the agreement, but then also tried to have it reinstated after realizing it was done in a moment of poor judgment). I find it disheartening that people can't gather enough data on their own to know what is true and what is false before they start spreading around the manure.

Two points. The first is I live in Texas and during the off year election that MacCaskill won her senate seat, I received a letter from President Clinton seeking contribution for her campaign. It is really easy. The business I work for has adds running on CNN, as do various other "local" businesses. During the add buy (I am an advertising/marketing manager) we were given choices of what markets we wanted the adds to run in. We could pick one media market, several media markets, or virtually all media markets. We could also pick with cable providers (i.e. Verizon, Comcast, Sprint, et cetera) to air them on. We chose to run the adds only in our local customer base with the assumption that somebody is not likely to drive over 50 miles to patronize the business. Therefore, the adds are generally concentrated on the Portland Metro/Vancouver market and occasionally branch into the Salem market certain times of the year.

Just because it's a "national" add doesn't mean there is no say on where the adds actually go. It would have been really easy to exclude Florida from the "national" buy as you could just ask to exclude an area or, better yet, don't add it to the package as is ad buys are usually done by combining individual markets as opposed to there already being predesigned "packages."

What else inspired the question about his and John Edwards attacking her to get the reply, "they're not attacking me because I'm a woman. They're attacking me because I'm ahead." Or have people forgotten about that?
The media has fallen in love with Barack Obama, even the men look at him like they kiss his framed photo before bed each night. All I can say is, for the sake of this country and what direction it'll take come November, I hope Obama is for real, and not used car salesman out to sell us a lemon before we read the fine print.
Nora O'Donnell of MSNBC had a hissy fit when the Chairperson of the New York chapter of NOW endorsed Hillary Clinton. O'Donnell hammered her, saying "why can't you support a black man?" What's wrong with an organization supporting whomever they want to support? They could've supported a Republican (not likely) if they wanted to. That's their right. But, as has already been pointed out, MSNBC has been hijacked by the Obama campaign.
And let's talk about Saint Clair McCaskill, shall we? Anyone see her debate against now-Missouri Governor Matt Blunt? She acted like the old lady who rips up Nerf balls that fall into her yard. Her nastiness was relentless, but now she's "can't we all just get along." Sure. Just like the Obama campaign, she's relying on the American people to continue being lazy and not look into her closet. Oh, and, by the way, you might wanna look into her husband's work in Missouri nursing homes. I hear he's very popular.
Also, let me make it perfectly clear that, as a Kansas resident, Governor Sebellius' endorsement of Obama is her own, not as a representative of Kansas. And Nancy Boyda, Representative from Kansas, endorsed Obama because, in her words, "Hillary Clinton would make us (Congress) work." Let's all get together, take taxpayer money, and play patty cake in the park instead of doing our jobs.
Should we get started on dear old Teddy Kennedy? The wonderful "Patriarch of the Democratic Party," as MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell called him yesterday, can't even open a car door for a lady when she's drowning in the bottom of a lake. Should we discuss the photos of his frollicking nearly naked on the Florida beaches while his nephew (wasn't his son, Patrick there, too?) alledgedly raped a woman in Teddy's home. One thing, in fairness, at least the gin blossoms are gone now.

How can you deny what happened when in Obama's own words he admits that he was aware of Sen. Clinton shaking hands with Sen. Kennedy. He knew that he would be next to stretch out his hand for a cordial
handshake...but instead he made the judgement call to turn away to answer a question from Claire. Well,
perhaps he could be honest enough to admit that that was rather rude and disrespectful. One might consider that Claire might have been talking to him to give him an excuse to not shake hands with Clinton. he also said Obama was running a good campaign. So what the heck was so awful about Clinton saying anything about Jackson's votes, when that's all the media has been doing....separating the black votes and the white votes and the votes by women and men, votes by white women and black women, young and old groups. My God, lets stop saying that the Clinton's are playing the race card or the gender card and put the onus on the MEDIA. I am sick of MSNBC's hype about race and believe that they are mistakingly thinking they will get higher ratings. They gave Bush a pass and now they are giving Obama a pass by not aking him tough questions and turning all negativity toward Hillary Clinton. The Media thinks the public would be bored with the issues and knows that if 51 million Americans were stupid enough to elect Bush to a second term that we are stupid enough to not demand some true answers.

When Barry lost NH, Racism and the Bradley effect were blamed, to the point of demanding a re-count.

When Hillary won NV, Barry left before the votes were counted, never conceded or congratulated the winner, but tried to spin a 6% loss as a win because through a quirk in the Nevada apportionment rules, he may have won one more delegate.

When Hillary lost in SC, she congratulated Barry.

When Teddy Kennedy endorsed Barry, Hillary went out of her way to greet the two men prior to the SOTU, like the gracious ADULT she is. Barry NEVER greeted or acknowledged her. Since the photos emerged, there have been TWO different excuses for his decidedly adolescent behavior, but only the true Obama cult members believe this latest BS.

When Barry lost NH, his followers were the ones crying racism. Tonight you and the rest of the cult will cry that millions of votes don't count because they weren't for Barry. Tell that to the voters and they'll tell you it's just more Barry BS.

Everything from Hillary Clinton "crying" (maybe she had a tear in her eye, but she was by no means crying), to escalating the conflict between John McCain and Mitt Romney by constantly peppering each of them with slight inflammatory questions and comments, and now the complete baloney about Barack Obama "snubbing" Hillary Clinton. The latest "story", the snubbing of Clinton, has had extremely heavy rotation particularly on your station and I believe it is irresponsible of MSNBC to continue to create "pissing matches" between the camps of candidates, their surrogates, and their supporters. Please discontinue this practice. It is causing disruption to the campaigns and the issues that are actually important to us, as Americans. It is making our 2008 Presidential Election look similar to your tabloid coverage of Britney Spears. To me your integrity is in question here, especially on the Obama/Clinton current "situation". Umm, folks? Why is this even an issue? I think the supporters of both candidates are making more of this than the candidates themselves. If Hillary had done what Obama did, the opinions would be reversed. I did not watch the State of the Union address, nor the response. I don't know anything about snubbings or photos. What I do know is this: I have a son and a son-in-law currently serving in Iraq, AND NO ONE CARES. Everyone pays lip service to "supporting the troops", but no one is doing or demanding that support should mean getting out before there are no troops left to support. I am so turned off by the campaigning I have started to avoid watching or listening to the news when that's all that's being covered.
