If you watched CNN it was explained in MO that although HRC was ahead BO was winning by 70-30 in St Louis and Kansas City. These precincts were very slow in counting votes so they couldn't call the state. In CA they are projecting based on the precincts counted and the exit polls (Again on the CNN web site you can see that HRC is winning the Latino vote by 65-35)....don't watch MSNBC it's become the FOX news of the BO campaign

15% of the total is too early for a projected winner, particularly in a state with as diverse a population (and as wide a discrepany in voting patterns from county to county) as Cali. Yeah, the journalists want to wrap it up and go to bed with a story written for the morning news cycle- but with the snafu over Missouri having happened JUST NOW.....well, you hope they'd learn not to call it too quickly.

Don't get me wrong- the numbers definitely favor Clinton so far. There's a basis for the projection, obviously. But it still strikes me as irresponsible. There'd be a lot less hullabaloo over stolen elections if the media didn't rush the process to a conclusion that can easily be encapsulated in a sound bite.

The fact that Obama got 9 red states shows his ability to unite people across political parties, while it presents Hillary with a challenge that she might not be able to win in November.

So Obama won more delegates and more states tonight and the Hillary people are still claiming victory. They are still doing the 60's and the 70's thing right down to dropping LSD. This race is long from over and I think that the real fighting has just been racheted up a notch. I do know that it will be a fight to the finish.

If Barack wins the nomination, the Democratic Party will be rejuvinated but if Hillary wins, I predict that the party will be splintered and doomed in November. I don't say this as a threat; I just sincerely believe this to be the case. I know that there are those of you who don't understand how important the issue of this war is to the rest of us, but it is.

There are many, who really detest the Clintons but I am not one of them. Although, I have lost a lot of respect for them after watching their conduct of this campaign, I could still support Hillary (reluctantly) if it were not for her position on this war. But with her votes as they have been, I can never support her.

Much as I hate to admit it, her candidacy would force me to pick a third party candidate. My wife, on the other hand, claims that she wouldn't vote for Hillary under any circumstance.

By the way California with it's 4 million absentee ballots (half of which were cast before the Iowa caucuses), is more like a Real Clear Politics summation than an election and it really should be viewed with a jaundiced eye.

In the end Barack will be the nominee, so much of this commentary is moot. I trust that his capacity for unification will bring the party and the nation together. As ususal, Barack's speech tonight was spell binding.

Why would he carry Ca? Are you aware there were well over 2million ballots already mailed in? How did you expect he would catch up to her 20+ percentage points? She lead him across the board in almost every state. I didn't expect him to win any, maybe one but that is it. If he even got close to her in any state it means he mounted an effective campaign in a short period of time. But, that is still far from winning. However, I do think she should be worried though. Because, again he caught up to the "Clinton Machine" in a week and that says a lot.

Hillary did not win big in California. She won because of 1.2 million absentee ballots (or more) cast before the Iowa primaries. The California primary is more like a moving RCP average than it is an election and everyone knows that; it should be modified as to when voting begins. (There were some problems that prevented Undeclareds from voting in the LA area, but that's another story). In any case this 'rolling primary' type of voting negated the surge that Obama experienced in the days since SC.

The NY election was a given and not an overwhelming endorsement considering that it was Hillary's 'home' state. MA was a gap that closed from 37% to 15%. All in all th 'mo' goes to Obama. This race is far from over and will continue all the way to the convention. Watch for big endorsements from Edwards and Gore in the next week.

If we want the Democrats to win in November, we only have to look at how Obama attracts Republicans and Independents in the red states.

Californians have spokens. We have voted for Hillary. I'm sorry, Oprah, your concerted, narcissistuc propaganda campaign trying to get your white audience to vote for a black man over a woman wsn't successful. While I voted based on conscience, rather than celebrity endorsement, I actually have much more respect for Maya Angelou, Quincy Jones and Barry Brazelton who backed Hillary on the basis of their close, authentic relationships with Hillary over the past several years. Hillary has character, wisdom and integrity. She has spent a lifetime working to further the needs of children (Children's Defense Fund, Yale Center for Child Research, legislative work in Arkansas, etc.) Hillary has respectable friends, but she didn't pull a LA publicity stunt like Obama with Teddy, Maria and Oprah. Hopefully women who care about children and the future of this country will be able to see Obama for the superficial candidate that he is. If those participating in the February and March are stupid enough to fall for Obama's rhetoric of "change" they will have only themselves to blame if he's elected.
