Holding new primaries in Michigan and Florida would be a pretty dramatic curveball. I would welcome the opportunity to cast a vote for my actual choice of candidate, rather than choosing between Clinton, Kucinich, and "Undecided". It would also be nice to see their respective organizations scramble to campaign in two states around which they've had to tiptoe in this election cycle. With that said, I'm not familiar enough with the election laws governing primaries to know if it's possible, but if it is, can Michigan even afford to hold another election? Things aren't exactly flush around here.

Interesting. I recall my wife noting in the days just prior to Iowa that Hillary's demeanor was becoming a little arrogant. Kinda makes sense now, comes into focus. Why would the Clinton campaign send out a dispatch from Taylor Marsh? That seems like a stupid way of letting people know how much money you have raised. And if you go to the Marsh link, it is called an "unverified email".

Not sure that is overwhelming evidence worthy of NBC. I figure the Clintons did not raise that much and won't say anything because they are bound to raise much more than that over the course of the month. They will let the story take hold without having to provide any proof and a legend is born.

The fact that she allowed Mark Penn to be her top adviser shows to me that she does not mind having a corrupt, greedy stragetist. To be paid $4 million -- if it turns out -- is so much for a political adviser. I fear that if Hillary wins, she does not mind stuffing her cabinet with greedy, ex-corporate agents who care more about money than the needs of the American people. It also illustrates Hillary's poor organizational skills, and it seems to me that she aims to win the presidency for her own benefit/legacy than to run a corruption-free America.

Senator Obama is only fooling himself with these rallies at colleges and bringing Oprah and other celeberties.
Media hype, celeberties and students appearing at rallies that are a five minute stroll from their classes doesn't turn into votes.

I don't understand when some of the articles state that the Obama fervor fell short. How do they determine that? The very fact that he went toe to toe with the Clintons is proof that Obama & his supports are a movement. He didn't win California b/c half of the ballots had been sent in 1month prior to Tuesday. First of all CNN is includeing the "auperdelegates". Those are not pledged or even committed to Hillary or Barack for that matter. They can change in a minutes notice. And do you really think that these politicians won't change to suit their best interest?
Second he has debated over 18 times and for your information he is better than Hillary in the debates. But why should he give her free air time, when she can not afford to buy airtime. That is what all of this debate talk is about.

It's no wonder she's broke. Her campaign spent/wasted an obscene amount of money in Iowa. I was shocked to find out that she actually had to pay "local" people who were in her print ads claiming to support her. Sarah Jankeweitz appeared on all sorts of Clinton print literature that was mass mailed. Turns out at her caucus site (CR-41), she was actually an Edwards supporter, and she and her children were paid, like any other "model" would be. Having to pay someone to be in a print literature piece is unheard of in Iowa. When "actors" are hired for commercials, it is a story. No one thought to question Sarah's support of Hillary, but there were a lot of surprised people caucus night at Washington HS.

I am a life long dem and I completely agree that Hillary will lose the GE in Nov. I base this on the fact that she is the only possible way that the GOP will be united. Also she will not be able to pull the independents and moderiate into the dem category, those will all go to McCain. I love the Obama supporters who say he is "sweeping the nation". He won smaller states, caucus states, no battleground states. They split delegates and popular votes down the middle, give or take a few. The party likes them both and is torn.but the reliable, core of the democratic party votes and it votes for her. If this becomes a trend, and I'm sure it will in the next two months, will the Clintons have to fully disclose the source of their personal savings? I don't think Bill or Hillary have ever been in a position to earn the $20-$50 million that they are estimated to be worth. Sure, they've had a couple book deals and some speaking engagements - but earnings from those sources might come to $10 million at the end of the day, but no more than that. So where did all this other money come from?? Are they taking money from Bill's library fund? Foreign governments..? Powerful friends? I for one would like to see a detailed disclosre of their personal wealth and how they earned it. I don't trust the Clintons for a minute!

Sen. Obama's campaign averages $200 per individual, which means he can still tap those donors for $2100 more dollars.
Most of Sen. Clinton's donors have already hit the legal limit of $2300. Only 14% of her donations average $200 or lower.
Also, to suggest that Sen. Obama underperformed in CA is ridiculous. A full half of CA's voters vote absentee. I know tons of people who regretted putting that ballot in the mail too early. He came within 10 points in a state that she had sewn up. Sen. Clinton has name recognition and time on her side. The more time Sen. Obama has in a state, the better he performs on election day.

I believe that this is a necessary battle that all democrats must participate in, from all states. I want to make this donation, I really do. That is why I am going to give Mr. Dean and the DNC my donation, but not without a condition that I believe should be met. I am going to tell the DNC that I will donate $10 (which is all I am able to at this time) only after the DNC has announced that the delegates from Florida and Michigan have been seated. I believe it is only fair that if we help the DNC, then the DNC should help us too. They say they want to run a 50 State campaign, right on their website. There website is http://www.democrats.org/. I think we should hold them to their promise to our party. So I call upon all of you who read my post to pass it along and email or call Mr. Dean and the DNC and pledge your donation to fight John McCain and the republican party, but only after the Florida and Michigan delegates have been seated. If you are able to donate more money, then pledge more money, (lots of money if you have it, it is for a good cause) but let him know that your donation comes with a price. Show him what it will cost him to cast aside these voters in Florida and Michigan who are loyal party members. These people's voices must be heard, they are part of our party and the future of our party. Donate to make sure that we are the party of all the people. again, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The
pressure from the Clinton Campaign to award delegates
after the fact, from FL and MI is outrageous. The
candidates all agreed that they would not campaign in

table. To claim a victory, when there were only 2 Dems
on the ballot in Michigan (Clinton and Kucinich), is
shameful. Any child on the school yard would recognize
this behavior as cheating. Pursuing this has already
opened Sen. Clinton to attacks from the right. If she is the nominee, you can imagine what Old Straight Talkin' John will do with that kind of ammo in the general election. All of those Obama Independents and Republicans will flock to "Honest"John McCain.
The pollsters keep telling me that as a white woman over 40 I should be "torn" between Obama and Clinton. I would love to see a woman win the White House, just not this woman. The pride I felt in her candidacy has been eclipsed by the way she's splitting the party with her unethical tactics. So sad.

Good afternoon. Let me begin by saying that although this has been billed as an anti-war rally, I stand before you as someone who is not opposed to war in all circumstances.

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest in history, and yet it was only through the crucible of the sword, the sacrifice of multitudes, that we could begin to perfect this union, and drive the scourge of slavery from our soil. I don't oppose all wars.

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He's a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda.

Let's fight to make sure that the UN inspectors can do their work, and that we vigorously enforce a non-proliferation treaty, and that former enemies and current allies like Russia safeguard and ultimately eliminate their stores of nuclear material, and that nations like Pakistan and India never use the terrible weapons already in their possession, and that the arms merchants in our own country stop feeding the countless wars that rage across the globe.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let's fight to make sure our so-called allies in the Middle East, the Saudis and the Egyptians, stop oppressing their own people, and suppressing dissent, and tolerating corruption and inequality, and mismanaging their economies so that their youth grow up without education, without prospects, without hope, the ready recruits of terrorist cells.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let's fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil, through an energy policy that doesn't simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil.

Those are the battles that we need to fight. Those are the battles that we willingly join. The battles against ignorance and intolerance. Corruption and greed. Poverty and despair.

The consequences of war are dire, the sacrifices immeasurable. We may have occasion in our lifetime to once again rise up in defense of our freedom, and pay the wages of war. But we ought not - we will not - travel down that hellish path blindly. I can't believe all of the people who claim to want to be talked to like an "intellegent human being" (NancyP). But before anyone who blogs here answers you, have you even watched every single debate these 2 have been in. I would think the only way you have not figured out what each candidate stands for is bacause someone hasn't smacked it your face for you. It is clear where there differences are and beleive me they are not that vast.

Healthcare: Ideally we would all like to feed all of the starving children in the world, but although we have made great progress it is simply NOT REALISTIC, for example her "Universal Healthcare Plan". Anytime this women has proposed a healthcare idea it doesn't work, it fails.

Iraq: If you thin kthis women is going to get the troops out, you are mistaken. Both candidates actually understand that some type of presence there is required to protect our emabassy (or oil) which ever floats your boat. The point is that the presence will not be combat troops.

I could go on and on, but I will say this it is not the countries nor the canididates responsibility to continue to forcefeed information into you. If you care and you want your vote to make a difference then go to the candidates website and read isssue for issue, position for position on each one.

I personally am voting for Obama as is my mother and my brother 25, 20, and 50 as is my husband 28. We are the middle class but we are young, educated, with careers yet we feel the pinch every time I cut a check to the bank for my mortgage or how I pay $5,867 dollars in taxes for a condo that is 860 square feet. Personally I undertsand everyone is sensitive about comments here, I will be the first to say I have not been as calm before. However, as a woman it saddens me that any other woman would try to convince to vote for Hillary because I wear a bra and because that will make an equal playing field in the workplace as far as salaries and positions. I met my husband in a bank (we are both bankers) he is VP of Business Banking and my position at 22 was exactly where he was at 26. This is a fair example of what I preach to my brother, regardless of gender, your education, your responsibility to own it, is what creates a fair playing field. Women supporting Hillary with that type of preaching, I am ashamed now that I wasn't born male if this is how we are trying to inspire our daughters or raise them to ride on the gender coattails as excuses for why we did not suceed as greatkly as man in any aspect of our lives.
