Since its alot, remember you can go to the Library of Congress website, and check it out yourself, but I am just summarizing his first 8 months.

During Senator Obama's first 8 eight months of elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.

He introduced 233 bills regarding healthcare reform,
125 bills on poverty and public assistance,
112 bills on crime fighting,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
In his first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
(1)the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 that became LAW,
(2)The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act that became LAW, (3)The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act that passed the Senate,
(4)The 2007 Government Ethics Bill that became LAW,
(5)The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill that is in committee just to name a few.

In all since he entered the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no legislative record. Read the facts and not emotion.

Andre Kaz (Sent Tuesday, February 19, 2008 6:36 PM)

Exit polls: Why Obama won

If Hilliary DOES get the nomination-- I will be voting for McCain.....

if the dems want the white house-- Obama is the ONLY choice. Hilliary is the ice princess that is touting HER HUSBAND"S RECORD--- the biggest farce in all of this is her "experience".... experience doing WHAT???? picking curtains.

Also can someone buy her another suit---sick of the royal blue--- give me a break she is a MULTI MILLIONAIRE!!!!

Exit polls: Why Obama won

At my caucus site in Nebraska, I saw the coalition of a cross-section of my community (blue collar, white collar, less educated, more educated, white, African American, Latino/a, Native American, young, old) that would foreshadow Obama's wins in Maryland, Virginia, and Wisconsin tonight. No one reported on his ability to cut way into Senator Clinton's base voters at that time, but to any of us witnessing a remarkable turnout in one mid-city neighborhood in Omaha, we knew he had accomplished something remarkable in this "red" state. The women on Obama's side outnumbered those on Clinton's side at least four fold; labor union guys proudly stood for Obama. The talking heads and pollsters have not been registering this phenomenon accurately. Who has a land line anymore? No one ever tries to poll me on my cell phone. Even today, they were calling for a "too close to call" race in Wisconsin, and boy were they wrong. As a UW-Madison graduate, I was pleased to see the margin of victory for Senator Obama (66% to 33% at this point). it isn't words that Obama is speaking--it is truth, and it is resonating with the American electorate.

Exit polls: Why Obama won

Facts and figures first, not opinion or blather. I've spent five minutes searching MSNBC on Wisconsin, and I've yet to locate a statistic -- either percentage-of-votes or delegate count.

Tom from New York

Exit polls: Why Obama won

If Hilliary DOES get the nomination-- I will be voting for McCain.....

if the dems want the white house-- Obama is the ONLY choice. Hilliary is the ice princess that is touting HER HUSBAND"S RECORD--- the biggest farce in all of this is her "experience".... experience doing WHAT???? picking curtains.

Also can someone buy her another suit---sick of the royal blue--- give me a break she is a MULTI MILLIONAIRE!!!!

Exit polls: Why Obama won

I am wondering when will "experience crybabies" come up to their senses and realize that in total elective office, Obama leads Hillary. Not only does he win the church-going vote, but the weather once again is terrible on primary day. One suspects this aids Obama, as his supporters are portrayed as more dedicated, but I have nothing except anecdotal evidence to support this.

Maybe older voters don't like the cold? Or don't feel like falling on ice and breaking their arm a la Defense Secretary Robert Gates?

Obama continues to eat away at key Clinton demographics, winning flat-out those without a college education. I have no idea why Clinton didn't fight here, as the demographics would seem to indicate she could've been competitive.

It maybe good in the long run if the front-runner status forces the media to turn on Obama, but more likely than not, the Clinton campaign will die the same death by 1,000 cuts that finished off that other New York politician. You know, the 9/11 guy. You can't lose every primary for a month and hope a firewall saves you, especially in this race.

As for momentum, Obama is climbing in Texas and Ohio in the polls. Is a 52%/48% win in those two states going to net the delegates needed for Clinton to hold on? Not likely, as Obama is going to win the delegate count in Texas either way because of its wacky primary/caucus system.

Clinton needed to look competitive in the Badger state, but instead she looks like she got owned.

More insipid analysis: http://www.nationalscold.com

Exit polls: Why Obama won

If the 'Commander in Chief' line is the best Hillary Clinton can offer, it is too bad, because John McCain will crush either Clinton or Obama on national security issues in a general election. The countering strength is to ask Americans to be courageous rather than afraid, and that is the essence of Obama's message. Clinton will not outcompete the Republicans in fear mongering.

Exit polls: Why Obama won

I voted for Obama in the VA primaries. A movement. A force that is tuning into the despaired, the dejected, and the despondent. There is a calling for involvement. A plea for activism. A promise that we, together, can move mountains. A belief, that if all the people of this great nation come to the table with open minds, and willingness to compromise, WE can move passed this current state of failed government. A belief that if the people of this United States of America desire, inspire, roll up our sleeves, and demand change that we WILL make the changes we seek. If the people DEMAND it the politicians will finally be released from this gridlock, in fear of their JOBS! This is what Mr. Obama brings to the campaign. Not just promises, but requests of service. Obama reminds me of another historical candidate with about the same amount of experience in the Senate, ye who went on to become one of the greatest thinking Presidents of all time - JFK. We don't need to pass the Presidential torch back and forth between the hands of the Bush and Clinton dynasties any longer. It really IS time for a change!

Exit polls: Why Obama won

Why Obama won Wisconsin in one word:

Momentum.

But this isn't passive momentum, where a candidate expects that voters will simply copycat the results of previous contests because, as the saying goes, everyone loves a winner. That's what everyone thought was going to happen in NH, but since it fell short, momentum seemed to drop out of the equation. The problem is that we were talking about the wrong kind of momentum.

What Obama has is active momentum. After generating excitement with a win in Iowa and many others since, the Obama campaign was able to translate that excitement into huge fundraising, huge crowds, huge word-of-mouth, and huge enthusiasm from legions of volunteers. The bit of genius comes in how they were able to use the internet to explode that activity.

In my opinion, the campaign's phone banking efforts have been the best (and perhaps most effective) example. In the run-up to last night's voting, online supporters from everywhere in the country made over 200,000 calls to voters in Wisconsin and other upcoming states. Similar numbers happened for the Potomac primaries and Maine (over 100,000 calls for Maine alone). That's the kind of momentum that's important in this campaign. Once you get that many people involved and invested in a campaign, then give them a way to casually volunteer from their own home, as well as donate, discuss, learn, and share, you can roll over a traditional campaign machine like the Clintons' with relative ease.

Obama's momentum was only in its infancy in the early hours of the morning on January 4th. Right now, it's fully matured, and we're seeing just how difficult that's making life for Clintons at the moment. If this continues -- and it looks like he's got tons of enthusiasm in Texas and Ohio -- he'll have the nomination wrapped up in a few news cycles after March 4th.

Exit polls: Why Obama won

What's all the flap about experience? The only experience that Hillary has is, she lived in the White House for 8 years as the spouse of the president. Which is a non decision making role concerning problems facing this country. Look,I like the Clintons very much and Bill did a wonderful job as president, but they've had their time in office and its now time to move on to someone else.
Also, on the issue of of National Security and other war issues: Why is McCain touting that he is the best candidate? Is its because he was a POW? Mr. McCain we appreciate and thank you for your service to this country.(and yes, I am a veteran) But, in todays time and your age, it is also time for you to step aside also. GO BARRACK OBAMA

Exit polls: Why Obama won

Mrs. Clinton is continually bragging about her experience and attending meetings with Bill, when she was in the White House.
