The more I hear this barack speak and his supporters wail, the less substance appears. Clinton may not have a chance against McCain in the general election, but at least we would know her positions and personality. Obama is cloaked in a sphere of mystery and a cloud of wonderment, but there may not be any substance to him. As some have expressed we may not find the wizard behind that curtain. As Dorothy found that the wizard was a snake oil salesman and part time fortuneteller we may find that Obama is a puff of fresh air that turns stale. As the general election approaches the curtain will be pulled back and many independents may flock to McCain as a sure bet. Here in Texas (For a long time we have had no presidential commercials) we have national presidential campaign commercials and Obama has not impressed me with his efforts.

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

If she has to resort to this for a <i>Democrat</i>, what would she have to do to beat a Republican?

Ready to lead on Day One! He will get tons of the male vote and some of the womens vote. Obama is winning now for some of the same reasons McCain would win against her. The male vote is strong right now and Hillary must be doing something wrong if her base of women is being compromised as well. Bill has become basically and idiot in this campaign, and he and Hillary are both now lightning rods because of their behavior.
Hillary galvanizes a split Republican party period! And I don't see her, especially the way she has handled herself in this primary, beating McCain. The Repub machine will draw off her meltdown in the primary and continue to expose the ridiculousness of their tag-team campaign stategy…something they cannot SPIN.
The Clinton's have been a disaster for the Dems. If Bill keeps his cigars to himself we wouldn't be in Iraq with a mounting trillion dollar deficit financed by China. And if Hillary was her own woman…(instead of sanctioning a tag-team effort with Bill to play the same ole' crap slinging politics that, ironically, bounced Romney out and McCain in) she would have put Bill on a leash and understood that AMERICA IS TIRED OF BUSH/CLINTON POWER PLAY POLITICS. If she doesn't denounce the activity of this 527 forcefully (by putting an end to it at inception), she will only solidify the notion that she approves of the politics of ripping people down and divisiveness, which Americans (not just Democrats) are clearly fed up with. Obama will now very easily prove his point that Clinton is nothing more than the typical politician who values winning above all else and is inept in bringing people together. In other words, I honestly don't think that it will help Clinton short-term (especially by as much as she needs at this point).

Besides, even if (and that's an underscored "if") Clinton gets the Democratic nomination by allowing this 527 to effectively smear a fellow Democrat out of the running, I think it's safe to say that it will backfire on her BIG-TIME come November. I imagine a majority of Obama-supporters will easily sit the November race out...at least the Obama-supporters that I know certainly will.

I sincerely hope that this 527 goes away fast because it will prove counterproductive to Clinton. She's a smart, successful woman who shouldn't "need" the nomination this badly. It's completely distasteful (especially as an ex-First Lady), and it will hurt her standing with Democrats and non-Democrats alike. Wrong approach!!!

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

Obama does not have the experience to run this country. These organizations may support a candidate, but are operating on their own. Obama-bots need to stop attacking Hillary Clinton and realize they need her supporters in order to win the nomination. I believe they have listened to their candidate say,"I will get her supporters, but I do not think she would get mine".
This is just more rhetoric to scare folks that are undecided to vote his way. A must-read article has been written in Newsweek by Robert Samuelson. This comes from an impartial point of view and is refreshing in its candor. I suggest these "Obama-bots" take a look. Clinton when she attacks his campaign rightfully so. If she would leave the knit picking alone and loose some of the drama baggage she would be alright but she paints a risky picture of scandles and drama. Sen Clinton show the people what they want as far as your tax claims and the papers on the White House years and perhpas you can save yourself and campaign. Not too much to ask since you need the peoples votes.

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

Just look at how successfull Obama's campaign has been. It's just not as common to set one up to fight a primary campaign. Quite telling don't you think? They can't get any new donors so they have to figure out a way to allow their richest existing fanatics to keep her sagging campaign hopes alive. It also indicates to me that Hillary is more than willing to destroy the Democratic Party to become president rather than accept the obvious.

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

Wow Hillary finally runs a decent ad!

By the way in 24 hours Obama has had more than 70,000 NEW donors and has brought in more than $5 Million...

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

I can't believe that the advertisement they are going to run is about JOBS!!!! We here in Buffalo will drive the 2 hours to Ohio and let them know the truth about Hillary's ability to create jobs--

Borrowed from a post by Jim Kelly (NY Conservative Campaigns) on http://buffalonews.typepad.com:

In her first term running for United States Senate, Clinton promised those suffering in Western New York ... Obama has done to bad there is not enough pages on the Blog to list them all but you said no one can name one so here is two for you.
Education: He increased the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,100. As a member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee, Obama helped pass legislation to achieve that goal in the recent improvements to the Higher Education Act. Obama has also introduced legislation to create Teacher Residency Programs and to increase federal support for summer learning opportunities.

Health Insurance: In 2003, Barack Obama sponsored and passed legislation that expanded health care coverage to 70,000 kids and 84,000 adults. In the U.S. Senate, Obama cosponsored the Healthy Kids Act of 2007 and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Reauthorization Act of 2007 to ensure that more American children have affordable health care coverage.
Women's Health: Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

At this rate 100 years war McCain will have more integrity than Clinton! More Americans choose his set and reject hers.

We truly do deserve the government we get. And in this cycle, America feels they want, need, and deserve the leadership of Barack Obama. “It’s the People, Stupid,” who believe the time is right, and this is why so many of them, for the first time in a long while, are working nonstop to get him elected. Rather than being a “cult leader,” as the Clinton campaign so absurdly suggests, Barack Obama is in truth a “catalytic leader” because his is a transformational leadership whose mission is making the world a better place for the public good. The phrase was coined and described in the work of Dr. Jeffrey Luke of the University of Oregon. Professor Luke founded The Luke Center for Leadership: www.lukecenter.org. It seems Barack Obama has the very type of leadership style we need at this very moment of world history.

According to the Luke Center, “catalytic leadership style is based on a vision, building partnerships, collaboration, and passion.” It’s Obama’s leadership style that is representative of turning the page from the fights, divisions, and the blame game of the past to a brighter future of cooperation, unity, and real solutions for the 21st century. As a nation, we are ready and “fired up” because, rather than remaining stunned silent like deer caught in the headlights of our drivers-in-chief, we, the People have finally gained our wits. As such, we know we’re the deciders in ’08 and, at long last, we reject the George Bush-McCain autocratic style of “forcing your will upon others, not consulting with opposing voices, and falling prey to the supposed collective wisdom of a coterie that never disagreed with you” -- http://weneedobama.blogspot.com/2008/02/obama-profoundly-catalytic-leader.html failed policies and the Clintonian bureaucratic style of egocentric calculation, secrecy, and aggressive “gotcha, must-win-at-all-costs” failed strategies. The 20th century Bush-Clinton dynasties have failed us and must end! America is turning the page because Yes, We Can!

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

I cannot fathom why the "Obama has no substance" meme keeps getting repeated by people.

Was I the only one to listen to his 45 minute policy speech last night?

Clinton 527 in OH, TX, PA?

Andy,
Can I get an Amen!
You have some crazy person from California saying Obama is not electable and us supporters of Obama are dillusional.
