From NBC's Mark MurrayAfter all of the various questions and candidate disagreements from last night's debate -- over NAFTA, health care, Iraq, Russia, Farrakhan -- the Clinton camp has seized on something the New York senator herself brought up: the

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

They are just holding on to straw here... If Senator Clinton wanted to do the job why did she not vote on the very important telecom Bill when she was in Washington DC a few weeks ago. This is the bill that was related to the wire tapping and not giving telecom compannies immunity for things they did that were illegal before the current bill passed. BOTH Senator Obama and McCain took the time to come and vote on this important legislation but Clinton had opther things to do.

You cannot tell me that something did or did not happen because there were no hearings as we have seen in recent weeks with the baseball steroid hearings just because you have hearings doesnt mean they are important or get anything done.

In addition, Senator Clinton says she is too busy to release her tax returns so please do not use the fact that Seantor is too busy running for president as a political line.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

I am so disgusted with how we Americans go about electing our leaders. You read most of the posts here and you’d think that somehow, all of us were marched into a brainwashing chamber to suck out all of our thoughts. Clinton supporters absolutely refuse to fathom anybody else but her in the presidency. Nobody uses sentences like “I like her ideas better”. We resort to infantile nonsense like “Obama is an idiot; he is a Muslim trying to destroy America”. Come on people, with all these energy crawling out of our poop holes, we can use some of it to do some analysis of these candidates such as ask the question… What is in it for Hillary Rodham Clinton? Does she love us so much that she wants to become president just so we will live a very happy and exciting life filled with fortunes and healthy outcome? Try to ponder what it would be like if you were the person running for president. Do you honestly think that you will not utilize that position to feel powerful and influential? Don’t worry I am getting to Obama but lets deal with Clinton first. The way I look at it and this is my opinion of which I do not want to impose on others is that I see the Clintons as having been successful in their political careers. They managed to raise a wonderful girl who turned out from an awkward looking kid in 1992 to now a confident young woman making a six figure salary at a hedge company in NY. The Clintons went from a political star truck family to ascend to the presidency of the United States, now that is quite an accomplishment, so to me anything more is just plain greed. For recap, Bill Clinton became president, Hillary went on to become a senator and their only offspring went to ivy league school here and abroad and from every evidence will certainly have a good life from the values bestowed on her from her parents. In 1992, the Clintons were closer in image and desire to the average American family than they are now. I believe that desire was what propelled them to the success we experienced in the 90s. Unfortunately, they have now surpassed what we truly need in this country at this time. That brings me to Obama because I truly think that for all his rhetoric and hope speeches and all, he fits closer in image and desire to the average American family than any other candidate. I also ask the question…Why is he running? What is in it for him? Does he want to become president just so that we live a very happy and exciting life filled with fortunes and good health? He does not have the success story as the Clintons yet but he wants to also become a good American story. The Obamas have 2 adolescent kids who are not even in High School yet so I believe they want to see their daughters also go off to Ivy League schools and end up just as Chelsea making six figure salaries at a very reputable company. Who knows maybe Michelle may want to become a senator too. My point is where do we they voters fall into all of this? We need to evaluate with clarity what better choice is available to us. We need to make that choice with confidence because we used our brains. After thinking it through, I pick Obama because I like his ideas better and I think he will strive to create an America that will enable his young children to become successful. In all my analysis, I never looked at gender or race or experience or influence and endorsements. I never relied on the media to spin anything for me and I never went with the bandwagon of the day. I just intelligently looked at my choices and made what I think will benefit this country. Once again good luck in your thoughts.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

We would like to hear more specific details. Who are the members of the committee? Have there been no meetings at all? Are the members of the committee complaining about lack of leadership? How is the committee structured? What is the mission of the committee? etc.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

Bee, it's evidence that Obama is all talk and no action. If he meant what he said, why hasn't he had any hearings? Running for president is not enough...the good people of Illinois did not elect him, and the good people of this Country are not paying his salary so that, he could run around the country making pretty presidential campaign speeches at the expense of his first job - US Senator! Unlike Sen. Clinton so much that they would vote for Obama rather than vote for their own candidate, then do you really think she had a chance in the gen. election? In fact it actually showed how poorly Democrats would have done if she did win. In fact, I have seen the Republican Governors of Alaska & Louisiana point to Obama as a symbol of change, which shows he has crossover appeal. Furthermore, this argument is erroneous since Sen. Clinton's fall from grace started on Super Tuesday, before the Republican nominee was essentially decided. I would argue the fact that she had trouble in most closed primaries shows her lack of broad appeal. Her problem was she believed that American's might look past gender, but they would not look past race. She took solace in the fact that there was only one black Senator, but numerous female Senators and so she ignored Obama. Furthermore she took the gamble that appealing only to women with the belief this would win her the nomination. This might have actually worked if Sen. Edwards hadn't left early. As for Obama, she ignored him and tried to use the experience argument instead of spending the time to define him; which allowed him to define himself. And say what you will, but this Edwards supporter saw Obama speak for the first time and knew he had 'something'. It might show her lack of judgment that she couldn't see this herself earlier. That said Sen. Clinton is a wonderful woman who will be a great asset to the democratic party in the Senate.
Team Clinton, the day after the debate

I guess this is the Kitchen sink they were going to through at Obama. Since its alot, remember you can go to the Library of Congress website, and check it out yourself, but I am just summarizing his first 8 months.

During Senator Obama's first 8 eight months of elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.

He introduced 233 bills regarding healthcare reform,
125 bills on poverty and public assistance,
112 bills on crime fighting,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
In his first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
(1)the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 that became LAW,
(2)The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act that became LAW, (3)The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act that passed the Senate,
(4)The 2007 Government Ethics Bill that became LAW,
(5)The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill that is in committee just to name a few.

In all since he entered the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no legislative record. Read the facts and not emotion.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

Team Clinton:

The premise of your question is layered on a foundation that says basically he got the job of chairman but didn't do it to run for another office right??? So using that logic, if he gets the job of President, please tell us what job you would then assume he would run for!!!

It doesn't make sense eh? I thought not. You see, I'm one of the "educated" people who back Senator Obama. Yes we do think independently but more, we don't appreciate your insane assertions or faulty suppositions!!

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

Running for President seems like as good an excuse as any to miss some meetings. Give me a break.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

it's too late to cry, you should do more to convince voters than cheap publicity,
Team Clinton, the day after the debate

HILLARY, WHERE ARE YOUR TAXES?

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

I'm sure Patty in SD, J. As with the plagiarism comment, they are hoping that people won't discover that she has done the same. Stay informed Obama supporters and don't believe everything you read about him. Also, as you keep in mind the issue of character, which is very important to me. Notice who is hurling most of the insults and who is doing most of the reacting.

I feel for them because I believe they are political junkies. I think they care about people, but mostly, they care about being in charge. I hate to say that, because I do think they are true public servants, but that's just what I have observered. I sure hope I'm wrong. The Clintons will be around for a long time and I'm sure they will do a lot of good. Whether you support Obama or not, you can't help but feel bad for them. Having said that, I agree that the country needs to go in a new direction, and the Clintons are not the ones to get us there. Thanks for the 90's Bill. They weren't all good, but not all bad. Such is life. I hope Obama's vision takes us another step forward. Nobody sees Obama as the savior of the world. Just an agent of change, which will hopefully allow us to make progress as a nation. We need this to improve our foreign relations as well our domestic ones.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

I am sure Hillary was there for each and every meetin and vote etc, while she has been campaigning, too.
I know of at least one, she was not at very recently.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

Clinton is playing right into the Hands of the Republicans. Of couse to run for President, he has to put on hold a number of things. I wonder what senate committee meetings Hillary has missed during her 24/7 campaign. Obama is a calm, reflective, thoughtful and calming personality. I believe he truly is presidential in his demeanor. He is an Ivy League success story with youth and enthusiasm. He deflects whatever Hillary throws at him calmly and dismissively but respectfully. Once in a generation someone like this shows up to be heard. Remember, he has as much experience as Abe Lincoln had of his state.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

TALK ABOUT SPECIOUS ARGUMENTS.I thought the president
decided and shaped our foreign policy position not some subcommittee. Its not always the smartest person with the best command of detail that wins. Its the person who can rally the populace and generate a feeling of optimism and trust. History is full of smart, hard fighting, experts who lost their bid to become president because they could not inspire the majority. I wish people would spend this much time on the process when they elect their senators and congressmen.

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

HRC should just go away. One would never Imagine that Saint-Obama would sacrifice opportunity to make a difference in this war( no matter how insignificant ) In the name of running for presidency. Too bad ! How was that not "game changing"????? How is it we now hear he won because he wasn't knocked out?? If Tim had directed the question to Obama, he would have embarassed himself in front of millions. Instead, Tim threw it out, there was an awkward pause, so she jumped in, not wanting to look as dumb as Obama. He then, being the guy who doesn't have to wrok for anything, cheated off her paper. It's Bush all over again and makes me sick. The sexism makes me sick--the discussion of her moods, her clothes, her huband. It all makes me sick, as does Obama. And then the Farrakhan question. What a fumble that was. Yet, here we are days later with the press crowing how he looked so presidential. Hey press guys--the women out here are on to you. We get it. Obama refuses to talk to you so you have to sink your teeth in somewhere and what better place than Hillary--who've you've hated since the 90's. You have single handedly ruined this election for me, and many americans. It wasn't a fair playing field. If HIllary loses the nomination so many of her supporters like me, are opting out. This should have been a year for supporting whatever democrat got the nomination. But not now. It took Tim Russert in this debate, months into the campaign, to finally ask Obama some tough questions..and Obama dropped the ball big time. I only wish Hillary had shut up and let Obama take Putin. Turned to him and said "Senator Obama, I always go first, you take it". And watched him blink and stammer. It would have been done then if anyone cared to report it that way. I'm sure the headlines would have been "Obama brilliantly fields Putin question by not answering!!"

Team Clinton, the day after the debate

I AM AN INDEPENDENT FEMALE VOTER OVER 70 AND I HAVE BEEN LISTENING AND READING EVERYTHING I CAN REGARDING
THE CANDIDATES AND I SUPPORT HILLARY. IF SHE DOES NOT WIN THE PRIMARY THEN MY VOTE WAS UP FOR GRABS. HOWEVER, OBAMA'S RESPONSE TO SENATOR MCCAIN'S COMMENT
ON WHAT OBAMA SAID REGARDING IRAQ WAS REALLY A "SMART
ASS" COMMENT THAT I WOULD EXPECT OUT OF MY 13 YEAR
OLD GRANDSON AND NOT FROM SOMEONE RUNNING FOR THE PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES. FYI--I, TOO, WAS OF THE "OPINION" (NO VOTE FROM OBAMA, ONLY AN OPINION) WE SHOULD NOT GO INTO IRAQ BUT WE ARE THERE SO REHASHING WHETHER WE SHOULD HAVE GONE OR NOT IS A BIG WASTE OF TIME. IS THE MEDIA SO MEZMERIZED BY OBAMA'S RHETORIC THAT EVERYTHING OBAMA SAYS IS SOMEHOW " THE SPOKEN WORD"? BY THE WAY, THERE ARE MANY OF US OVER 70 WHO HAVE MUTIPLE COLLEGE DEGRESS AND ARE RUNNING SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES. I AM HAPPY THAT THE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE VOTING BUT I QUESTION THEIR ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCES, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, TO MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON FACTS RATHER THAN EMOTIONS. I CERTAINLY DON'T WANT MY VERY BRIGHT COLLEGE SOPHOMORE GRANDAUGHTER MAKING ANY OF MY DECISIONS FOR ME. SADLY, I SEE THE MEDIA REALLY HAVING A PROBLEM WITH A FEMALE PRESIDENT AND I SEE MANY OF THE WHITE MALE POPULATION HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS NOTHING NEW THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN OVER MY 70 YEARS OF LIVING. NO MATTER WHAT WE FEMALES DO, YOU FIND SOME DUMB COMMENT--TOO BITCHY, TOO WEEPY, ETC. IT MUST BE TERRIBLE TO BE SO INSECURE THAT YOU THINK THESE TYPES OF COMMENTS ARE IMPORTANT. YES, OUR DAUGHTERS DO CRY MORE THAN OUR SONS--DOES THIS MEAN OUR DAUGHTERS ARE LESS CAPABLE THAN OUR SONS? NO WAY!!!DO OUR DAUGHTERS OR GRANDDAUGHTERS FACE AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD?
