It's really hard to know who the bigger loser is, Brewer or Kerry. Brewer is almost David Shuster like in her attacks on Clinton.

The SNL parody was really aimed at the folks on MSNBC who remain Obama lap dogs.

On the brighter side: polls are starting to favor McCain over Obama. McCain is well vetted and Obama is not so that the GOP lead will only get wider. Obama happy talk plays well in caucuses in the primary campaign but will not in the general election.

Nice touch by Hillary last night pointing out the vast number of first questions that are directed at her rather than Obama. It really gets significant when you look into the debates when the subject is changed and who gets the first question. Good example: V. Putin's successor in Russia.

All respect is gone for Matthews and Olbermann and not much left for Brian Williams and Tim Russert.

It was over an hour into the debate before Obama was pressed on his response...and that's typical of all the debates.

As a woman, I have the utmost respect for Mrs. Clinton. I am in awe'd and blessed to be alive to see a woman run for president. I like to think of myself as a person that is unbiased/neutral and will gather all of the facts before I make a decision. I have been undecided, however after last night's debate.. I'AM no longer.
For the most part, Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama are extremly the same - I say about 90-percent when it comes to their ideas, pledges, programs, etc.
I am choosing Mr. Obama purely and simply because he has consistenly demostrated GREAT CHARACTER and INTEGRITY. I believe that you can trump most experiences in mostly anything with integrity & good character. Mrs. Clinton has failed to get the people to Buy-in to HER - (not Bill) or (not Bill & Hillary). She is very conflicting. She wants to be that strong fighting woman and then on the other hand, she displays weakness through whining, anger and most of all she reflects a deceptive person.

To sum this all up - A person's character can be felt by their presentation via television, radio, in person or in writing. Her tone and character just doesn't win me over and I feel it would hamper bridging and rebuilding relationships.

Please do not count the chicken yet. I think the last two debates (only 3 between just the two of them) showed/revealed a lot about Barack. Going toe to toe against Hilary who definitely have a better graps and understanding of the issues, he looked very junior. It's a picture of a teacher and a kid.

Guess what, that format - sitting down, exchanging ideas, debating over issues - that's how things are done in the real world. It's always a dialogue, an argument, a debate. Why does Sen. Clinton keep going on and on about her experience? She has only 2 terms as a US Senator. She can't count her "experience" in the White House any more than my wife can count her years being married to me as "experience" being a software developer.

Sure, she has tons of experience in public service, but that doesn't qualify her to run a country. As others have pointed out, she can't even balance her campaign budget - how will she manage a multi-trillion dollar economy?

I watched the debate about 6 hours after the fact (couldn't sleep) and I have to say that while some of the pundits have written it off as a tie based on actual points landed, but I have to say that watching the 2, Hillary came off as desperate and I think it was very smart of Obama to allow the moderators to bring up the facts about Hillary's record on NAFTA and other various things. For one it means something different coming from someone other than him. There's no way to say he coloured it and twisted it for his own use.

Although I think Obama's biggest blunder of the night was not directly asking teh final closing question and instead gave a closing statement. The #1 question Hillary needs to answer is, "While claiming your 8 years as part of your experience, why is it that you are now saying you were always 100% against the "crown jewel" achievements of your husbands presidency that have turned slightly sour from what we're seeing nearly a decade after going into action? Why were you so long publicly announcing how proud you were of the achievements like NAFTA as pointed out by Mr. Russert earlier this evening, until your presidential campaign trail? Are you truly a say anything, do anything to win politician of the past?" And I would have absolutely loved to have listened to Hillary's half hour side step around the question as she did several times from waht I currently remember. That one example of major policy change and the misdirectionto saying she was ALWAYS against it, I believe goes to show her true character and her ability to use her experience to not make the pitfalls she personally has been a part of or has personally witnessed in her long career of public service.

She honestly would be further ahead to say, "You know it sounded like a good idea tha would truly work, but the megacorporations foudn loopholes and abused them that caused it to malfunction and looking back I can see it as a mistake that needs to be corrected."

I am split down the middle on this debate. While it is pretty clear that Hillary is on the "ropes" (so to speak), Obama did not AND COULD NOT (in my estimation) deliver a knock-out blow! But why? I don't think it is in him to do so. In the post-debate coverage by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman, Matthews said something that is very telling; and I don't know if a lot of folks picked up on it. He said that Obama does not seem to have the 'ability to score a thrilling comeback line...or a knock-down one-liner.' So true. In almost all the debates (not just last night), whenever Hillary said something that Obama did not agree with, he (Obama)has never shot back with a sly, verbal jab. In truth, I don't think he can. I don't think it’s in his character to do so. But that might be a good thing! In that it makes him look confident, bullet-proof, and unflappable. In a word, it makes him look Presidential, and not petty, as Hillary comes off at times.
The truth is that Obama is really NOT as qualified to be President in the technical (political theology) sense as is Hillary. But he is---at this critical juncture in American history---the best person to bring the Country together. He is the best Inspirational leader...the best orator...the best unifier...and ultimately...the best man for the job---at this time in America's history. Obvious, Hillary’s best chance at the President is 4 years too late! Her time was John Kerry’s time in 2004. She will go on to be one of Americas greatest Senators. Her contributions bolstered by her superb grasp of the issues will serve her well as the Junior Senator from the great State of New York!
But I say Kudos to America for putting aside petty racial and ethical differences and recognizing a great, young, dynamic inspirational leader in Barak H. Obama. Let's review:

First let’s start with the Popular Vote

To date, Obama has 10,697,535 votes

Clinton has 10,090,298 votes

Total 20,787,833 votes

Difference 607,237 votes (Obama's favor)

Ok Ron, I hope you've been able to keep up so far, because this part gets a little tricky. As a result, you may not want to try this at home.

Obama having 10,697,535 votes gives him 51.9% of the total votes cast for him and Clinton. We will round up and just call it 52% since we like you Obama folks so much (NOT).

Clinton having 10,090,298 votes gives her 48.5% of the total votes cast for her and Obama.

That's a difference of 3.5% of the total vote.

Now let’s take a look at the Delegate count according to MSNBC.

This includes both Pledged Delegates and Unpledged Delegates. It should be noted that any source you attempt to go to for Delegate totals, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, the AP and the Washington Post, etc, you will get totally different Delegate count numbers.

To date, Obama has a Delegate count of 1386 of the 2025 Delegates needed to get the nomination. Thus, leaving Obama 639 Delegate short of what he needs to secure the nomination.

Clinton has a Delegate count of 1293 of the 2025 Delegates needed to get the nomination. Thus, leaving Clinton 732 Delegates short of what she needs to secure the nomination.

Obama having 1386 Delegates gives him 52% of the 2679 total Delegates accounted for thus far.

Clinton having 1293 Delegates gives her 48.5% of the 2679 total Delegates accounted for thus far.

Whether it’s Popular Votes or Delegates, the percentages are exactly the same (what a shock). Obama 52% and Clinton 48.5%.

Now we’re not quite done yet.

Moving forward, let say Obama was to get 60% of the delegates (just for kicks). The contest would have to continue until May 20th with Kentucky in order for Obama to secure the requisite 2025 Delegates needed for the nomination.

However, if Obama were to get 52% of the delegates moving forward as he has prior to now, then the contest would have to go into the Convention in order to decide the winner.

Now that we have concluded our mathematical lesson, Ron, would you drop out if 48.5% of the people, who voted, voted for you as opposed to the 52% that voted for your opponent? Would you drop out if 48.5% of the total Delegates accounted for thus far have been awarded to you?

Would you drop out if your opponent still needed 639 Delegates in order to clinch the nomination and even if he got 60% of the Delegates moving forward, wouldn’t be able to accomplish that task until at least May 20th which is three months away?

Would you drop out if your opponent were to get 52% of the Delegates moving forward as he has in the past, and in so doing, it would not allow for a clear winner to be determined until the Convention?

Don't bother answering any of those questions, they’re all rhetorical.

Of course you would drop out, right Ron?

I am one year younger than Hillary and I was born on the same day. I used to be a fighter until one day about 10 years ago I discovered that most people respected me because I am a strong woman but that they would run in the opposite direction when I was poised and ready for a fight.

She doesn't "look" presidential. Remember that brief TV show with Geena Davis as the first woman President? Geena looked presidential. She never whined. She didn't giggle. She didn't have silly grins on her face. And she's close to six feet tall! Margaret Thatcher looked like a leader. Golda Meir looked like a leader. Indira Ghandi looked like a leader. Poor Hillary looks like a soccer mom. I can not imagine her going toe to toe, nose to nose (well, she couldn't do that because of her height)with male leaders around the world. I'm sorry. I am proud of her achievements..she's a beacon for women everywhere. But President? Not.

I've never been a big fan of Hillary Clinton, but last night I think she scored a home run for those that were paying close attention. First of all, she clearly has a better understanding of the workings of our government and of foreign policy than her opponent.

What got my attention is when she reported that Senator Obamba, as chair of the Subcommittee on Europe, Foreign Relations Committee, as NOT having any meetings since his appointment in early 2007 - a year ago!!! His weak response was admitting he had not, because he's been too busy campaigning. Because this subcommittee has influence with NATO, and NATO is a huge player in Afghanistan, obviously he doesn't care what happens there except to complain how badly that conflict is being handled by this administration. You have a job Senator Obamba: do it!!! This does not speak well for you that desires to be Commander in Chief.

I hope more of you voters begin to see through this "empty suit" with a Golden Tongue. He reminds me of Jimmy Carter who set out to change Washington, and came away empty handed. Anyone else remember what a disaster his term was?

I have been writing the media for weeks now, complaining that the media wont give Hillary a chance, and many of her supporters are equally fed up with this media bias. I have never before seen so many journalists swept away by Obama-rama like teeny-boppers swept away by some new band.

It's so completely unfair, and infuriating to those who think a woman deserves as much a fair shot at the presidency as any man. I smell rank sexism in the air.

Why is it not OK to critize Obama, but it's just fine to bash Hilary constantly? Dan Abrams just did a study and found that Clinton's remarks are backed up by statistics. How bout that?

As for Obama's "intagrity," ever wonder why he only has three years experience in the US Senate. Because, although he said he would serve his six year term in the Senate and not rush off to run for president, he immediately broke his word, to the first people who had voted to place him in power. That's integrity?

By comparison, Hillary said she would serve her full Senate term, and kept her word even when people urged her to run for the WH in 2004. That's integrity.

Obama's charm sells, but his word doesn't seem to count for much when ambition calls. Hillary has shown incredible grace in the face of endless bashing from the media, bashing that just goes on and on. If she tears up, she's weak, if she's too smart, she's a robot, if she gets angry and defends herself from Obama's attacks, she's an "unstable B****h. Yet she keeps fighting on.

That's true integrity, but don't expect to hear much about that from the punditsall they can see is Obama's glitter. He doesn't even have to discuss his history of cocaine abuse, or he'll whine. What other candidate would get away with that? Will he keep getting away with it if he is the Demo Nominee?

Why does Hillary keep saying "I think having a woman in the white house would be a huge change"? What does being a woman have to do with anything? She is simply trying to appeal to women voters. If Obama had said "I think having an african-american in the white house would be a huge change" he would be getting pounded for it.

Why is it that so many Hillary supporters claim that Obama's wins are only because of republican votes as some way to assure that they will win the general that way. Obama does much better against McCain in almost every poll. Also, the smallest margin of victory in Obama's last 11 wins was 17%. That's not the result of a few republicans "stealing" the election from Hillary; those are huge blowouts buy voters who want nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. The more voters hear from Hillary the more they are flocking to Obama.

This is just another case of denial by the Clinton campaign and their supporters. Either we are being duped, or it's a cult, or those states don't count, or he's outspending us, or the media is treating her unfairly, or it's republicans trying to steal the white house. If Barack Hussein Obama were truly a unifier, he would have walked out of his "unabashedely black" church the moment he heard the pastor praise Farrakhan. Not only DIDN'T he do this, he actually adopted this church and got married in it.

If you remove the rhetoric, speeches and looked solely at the records of both candidates...Hillary Clinton would have been the appointed nomination after Super Tuesday.

As it stands... the latte drinking idiots riding around in their Mercedez Benz and being no where near the plight of the middle class AND the idealistic and severely misguided younger generation are carrying Barack Hussein Obama to a win.

Oh...and don't forget the almighty "you better not bring the color of our skin into play" BLACK population...who are foaming at the mouth to elect a "brother"...they are NO DOUBT the biggest hippocrites in this process.

Bill and Hillary Clinton pushed civil rights and fought along side every single black organization that supported equality during the past 25 years... AND YET...90% of the black population vote for a Senator that hasn't done 1/100th of the work the Clintons have done for them.

If white people, latinos...if Christians really think Barack Hussein Obama has you on his mind...I guarantee that will all end once he is sitting in the Oval Office.

I have never been so disappointed in the media as I am since this primary election began. To whom much is given, much is required. The media is not holding themselves accountable. And they are treating many issues as if non-existent. I began following this election with an open mind, but have become so disappointed. The values of the media appear to be very biased. When candidates discuss healthcare for 16 minutes, you in the media, call it a waste of time being spent during a debate. Try asking my daughter who needs surgery and has no health insurance how important healthcare is to her and many people in this country. What is perceived by the press as "small" differences between two candidates' stand on healthcare matter a great deal to people who have no coverage and are unable to get coverage.

I have heard the press be very satisfied with Senator Obama's answer concerning Farrakhan's endorsement since last night's debate. Senator Obama saw no difference between the words denounce and reject. Denouncing words used by Farrakhan concerning those who are Jewish and rejecting Farrakhan's endorsement are very different. And since Senator Obama does not seem to understand the difference I do not believe he has rejected Farrakahn's edorsement at all. After all, words are important according to Senator Obama, and he spoke the word reject after Senator Clinton spoke up and he said the word reject without being sincere. It goes to show how easily Senator Obama lets words roll off his tongue. The difference matters and he should understand that!

When the campaign began I thought I could vote for whomever the Democratic candidate might be. I was even taking a close look at the Republican candidates as I was not sure about who would best lead this country. Now, I do not think I can vote for Senator Obama if he is chosen as I do not think I am getting a clear picture of Senator Obama. He is not being challenged and things I have researched and found out about him on my own are not even being discussed. I find little I can rely on being reported by the press on Senator Obama. I do not think it is wise for those who have yet to vote in the primary vote for Senator Obama without more information about him. If they do not research Senator Obama now they are casting an uninformed vote. Senator Clinton may have her faults, but inleast we know what they are and can make a decision on where she stands and judge her experience. Senator McCain has made some mistakes and has learned from them and I can better understand the value of him being elected president than Senator Obama. I saw what happened with George Bush as president when he slipped by and was given a pass on his lack of experience with national security and foreign affairs. We cannot afford making another decision on who will be president, our commander and chief... without all avenues being explored to inform oursleves on the candidates running. I have been able to find out more about Mr. Huckabee than Senator Obama. I think many are following Senator Obama blindly. Many here are spending so much time putting down Senator Clinton they are not spending the time to think with their brains and look at Mr. Obama's lack of experience. The media failed to give other democratic candidates coverage and they were unable to remain in the running and some of them were much better qualified than Senator Obama. I was dismayed when other candidate were give so little coverage by the media.

To sum it up, I have come to think that many in the media see this as a game and are enjoying it so much they are forgetting what this election is about. The media's play and spin on words has become more important than informing the voters on the issues and challenges facing this country. This election is about who will be hired to lead the United States of America and take office in 2009 and time is running out for clear, honest reporting. I have heard one in the media say "I love politics." It is time those in the media love the truth and not the spin. It is time the media gave us more on issues and less on polls. It is time the media take a close look at experience and report on it as if it matters because it does. It is not about a feeling "going up one's leg" as Chris Matthews has said about Senator Obama's speeches. This election is about the lives of millions of people.

I thank Senator Clinton for speaking to the press. I appreciate her efforts to get information to the people on the issues. I now hope the press will see from the subject of this topic and the many responses here under this topic that the press is failing to communicate that issues really matter in this election. Little said here by others is about issues.

Voters, it is time to turn the light on and use your brains and look into the issues and the candidates we have remaining. It is not about black or white. It is not about being a woman or a man. It is not about age or looks. It is not about a feel good feeling. It is about the future of our lives and our children's lives. November will be here before we know it.

(The Politico) A top Clear Channel talk radio station has been (sort of) urging GOP listeners to switch sides and vote in Ohio’s Democratic primary.

Over the last several days, a promo for a popular show hosted by Bob Franz has been playing repeatedly. It suggests this method of beating both Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, who’s facing an uncertain primary contest:

“If I weren’t more responsible, I would get on the radio and say something like this: ‘Registered Republicans, your vote for McCain is already cast whether you want it to be or not because he’s the nominee. Cross over in the primary on March 4th and vote Democrat and vote against Hillary Clinton and against Dennis Kucinich. Make sure he doesn’t make it out of the primary. Make sure she doesn’t make it to the nomination. You have to do this for the good of the city, for the good of this district, for the good of this country.’ If I weren’t a responsible talk show host, I would say that,” Franz says in the promo on the 50,000 watt Cleveland station.

"It's a talk show host's opinion," said station executive Ray Davis in an e-mail. "The last time I checked there is still freedom of speech in America."

A Kucinich spokesman, Andy Juniewicz, said that the fact that the station has repeatedly run the promo without saying it is only the host's opinion indicates it is campaigning against Kucinich.

"What that host and what that station has done is insulting to intelligent listeners,” Juniewicz said. “Playing games in what is the most important primary election in years is reprehensible – especially when it’s under the guise of language that’s so manipulative."

It occurs to me that whoever is elected (whether that be Hilary, John or Barack) will acquire the best minds that they can lay hands on to advise them in all errors, so in the final analysis the best preparation one can have for the office is Good Judgement.

The bible tells a story about a king, Solomon, who was the wisest man to ever live. Solomon became king long before he acquired the "experience" to rule well. But that is the nature with rulers, relevant experience is only gained after the fact. Solomon's advantage was that he had asked God for the wisdom to understand men's hearts and thereby rule them well.

The point is that good leadership can be learned only after becoming a leader, lacking that specific experience it is a gift from God.

Let me tell you some of the aspects of this gift: 1)a good leader can inspire, 2)a good leader can rally, 3)a good leader can cause others to envision, and 4)a good leader ALWAYS brings change.

For this reason I see in Mr. Obama a man who could be president. I have said that I would vote for McCain if Hilary won. I have decided that this would be a mistake. In voting for McCain I would be voting for more of what we are all suffering with now.

Bill Clinton took a nation that was drowning in debt and delivered on his promise to turn that around. So that when the GW took over the US had a budget surplus - an unprecedented event. Bill Clinton was impeached because of an invasion into his private life that he did not have the moral fiber to withstand. What he did was wrong, but it was also none of our business.

As a Reverend I cannot condone or excuse his actions, nor do I. I also feel that he paid a price for his indiscretion that was appropriate. The fact however remains that for the most part, Bill Clinton was GOOD for Americans. The fact is that God often causes the actions of scoundrels to benefit his people (it says so in Proverbs 13:22). George Bush and the republican party in general have been BAD for Americans. They get a pass on their policy concerning Right to Life and Public Policy concerning alternative lifestyles (from a Christian Perspective). But if the republican party were really interested in pro life policy they would start looking at root causes rather than blind restrictions. Because restrictions will be violated, but if you do something about the REASON these choices are being made then chances are you would have a much greater impact. I wonder how many abortions might be avoided if the families involved were kept together and had sufficient resources to stay together.

But by ignoring domestic economic issues in favor of foreign policies driven by special interest we have managed to drive middle class families into poverty. We have allowed and encouraged manufacturing jobs to leave our shores. Even to the point of damaging national security. American no longer has the capability to manufacture missile guidance systems within our own borders because of these kinds of initiatives. the net effect I suggest is that you get more abortions because of fear of poverty than you would have had otherwise. That sort of makes their platform more about appearances than substance. I repeat however I don't have statistics for this, I simply suspect that it is a factor the republicans are not really interested in investigating.

I am certain however that if you had less poor people you would have fewer abortions. You see I am really VERY against abortion, as any right thinking person must be. It is not a question of when a fetus is a person, that's just sophistry, the point is that a fetus WILL be a person and abortion interferes with that natural process. I would just rather do two things different from the republicans. Take away the factors that make it choice for poverty and hardship, and do everything in the power of the state to give options to those who still insist (like in vitro transplants).

With regard to those who pursue alternative lifestyles, well I highly disapprove, but they have a right to be included in the political process. So I have no issue with a party that includes them.

So finally, I would hope that Hilary, should she become the nominee will change the character she has displayed in the years I have watched her so that I can vote for her in good conscience or if I have to withhold a presidential vote. There is still time.

But going over to the republicans? That could only happen if Huckabee were their nominee, and how likely is that?

I don’t understand how people could trust Obama. He has not even become the Democratic nominee and he is already showing us what kind of President he will be. How could someone that speaks about change and how he is for the new instead of the same old politics, be the first candidate to show us that he is just like all politicians when it comes to misleading everyone. Obama proposed a novel challenge aimed at limiting the corrupting influence of money on the race: If he won the nomination, he would limit himself to spending only the $85 million available in public financing between the convention and Election Day as long as his Republican opponent did the same. So this entire idea was started with Obama, and now he is trying to find a way out of his own proposal so that he might outspend McCain. The fact is, Senator Obama signed a piece of paper and pledged to take public financing for his campaign. Obama has ran his campaign on his record as an advocate of stricter government integrity rules, including the public financing system. And now he doing a complete u turn on everything he has ran on. Now, he is trying to find loopholes on what he said and signed so he could get away with going back on his word. How could anyone trust this man with anything he has said in his campaign. We are taking the words that come out of his mouth to heart and putting our lives in his hands, and just because he wants to have an unfair advantage in the campaign against McCain he will throw his integrity out the door. This has given me a entirely different look on Obama. Now, I have changed my mind and will not vote for him. Does anyone really think he will win the Presidency with this following him around the campaign and on tv. McCain will make sure everyone knows how Obama went back on his word and will make a really big deal about it, and will make sure that everyone knows that Obama goes back on his word when he knows it will benefit him. Yes, it's all well and good to say you don't want them clouding the discussion and obstructing progress, but it pretty much guaranteed they'd oppose just about any measure that came out of the task force. (And that doesn't even get into concerns about the secrecy of such meetings)

Diana you are wrong. White men will vote for Obama. I am a 48 year old white male living in Austin, TX. I will be voting for Obama in March/November. He is the only one that can bring the democratic party together. He is the only one that can unite this country. Also, he is the only candidate that has attracted people from all walks on life, new voters, independents, and republicians. Hillary is fake, and dishonest. She had to whine like a baby, because Obama is leading nation wide. She couldn't even release her tax returns, you know why, because she is a liar/crook. When Hillary started this campaign a year ago, the media was all about her. They didn't talk much about Obama. Hillary loaned her campaign $5million dollars, and her campaign mis-managed funds. If she can't run her own campaign well, how can she run this country? Please keep this in mind when you vote. She has lose staff, left and right.

After reading all of these blogs, there is no doubt that most everyone seems to have a passionate connection to their particular candidate. I think Hillary has been maligned by the press. I also think she is treated unfairly by the general populace. Unfortunately for her, it is because she is unlikeable. Without that quality you can never hope to win a general election, no matter how hard you fight for it or how qualified you are. Rev Mike/GA: GREAT POSTS!! I love those people who are thoughtful and reasonable like Jaycee.

I believe both candidates debated well, and both had issues that I did not like how they were handled. I absolutely do not believe Hillary should drop out now, but am concerned that the longer they are both in it, the more divided the party becomes and the more negative the rhetoric (and posts) become for both candidates, providing more fodder for the Republicans.

You nasty ones are part of the rethuglican attack machine who along with your pals in the corporate owned media in print, on radio and on TV have engaged in a nasty 24/7 hit job on Hillary Clinton for months.

You are winning at the moment, damaging Hillary and promoting Obama who is unelectable in the general election.

It's brilliant really, encouraging republicans to "do their duty" and vote for Obama across this nation only to vote for McCain in November.

The Dem voters aren't that saavy, some of them actually "believe" the hype on TV. The Dems may lose either way, with a divided party or an unelectable Obama as their nominee.

It's not too late however for the Dems. If they are smart in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont and beyond, they will vote for Hillary. Hillary Clinton is the most qualififed and most electable candidate in the race, that's why the corporate owned media and their republican pals are working so very hard to bring her down. Hillary is the best chance the Dems have in the general election. Hillary can win the big states that are the must wins for the Dems in November.

If the corporate owned media is FOR Obama then you should be smart enough to be AGAINST him.
