Why do people have to be so narrow minded. We are adults and are to teach children and I have confidence that we will and are ready for a change. What we should be afraid of is a president that lies and hides everything from us and stands up and gives a speech to tell us that the economy is fine and he wants to still spy on people. There are lessons there when she speaks of her experiences and how far she has seen our country come, just in her lifetime. Let me tell you that I believe both Obama and his wife are raceist and useing race card against whites. I think it is pathetic and nothing but smut mongering. Obama used rotten tactics to bring aa's togeather than when he didnt need them so much slaped there face. I dont have time for you now i am moveing on. The race part comes when His wife and others put pressure on other AA's to not vote for Hillary. Man if we did that the crys would be heard on the moon. Pople in Ohio and Texaas are so pressured if African Americans that say they want Hillary. This is lowest i have seen and yes its happening. They cannt stand up to the pressure a lot of them and will switch. Well listen you tell them what ever you need to in order to live a normal life but in that booth you use your mind and power Vote Hillary. I believe this should be looked into and investagated. If it were whites doing it bet your bippy it would be.How sick is it in America that a person has to feel literally bashed and shuned cause he wants to vote his own choice. Now you see why caucus states are Obamas .People cannt vote there choice if not enough they have to change or are watched in some cases so in fear vote like they should not what they want. This is the uniter and this is the change he wants?its sick. I would never vote Obama ever

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

come on, the race card was going to be played and Mrs Obama had to know.
Their campaign has done it themselves...
Race Man
by Sean Wilentz
How Barack Obama played the race card and blamed Hillary Clinton.
Post Date Wednesday, February 27, 2008
Senator Clinton has been blamed for everything from crooked land deals to murder. Despite the fact that the media only reports on HIS dynamic for change, there is another candidate whose voice has been muffled behind the gatekeepers we call the media.

Mike Huckabee is also a candidate who brings change, honor, hope, respect and the vision of a prosperous country to the table.

The thing to fear from Obama is not his name, nor his disregard for the 'same ole thing', which is his common connection with the people of this great nation. That is what is creating the movement within the young people, the movement that even the Washington establishment is taking note of.

What we should all fear is the bigger picture of the compromise that this country will face as a result of the proposals Mr. Obama is making. By creating a system of government that is responsible for the quality of life of every citizen, we take out what drives each of us to continue to strive to be the best that we can be. By creating an even playing field, we eliminate the competition and create an economy based on what we expect from other people - namely the government - which will then control even the most personal of decisions we make in our lives.

There is a huge difference in allowing access to everyone of our citizens to the best healthcare, the best jobs, the best housing, the best mortgage, the best way to make ends meet, etc...and in mandating it. That is the difference in the American way and socialism. We should all take a look at this and realize that to talk about giving that right and access to everyone and to mandate it is a very fine line - the line between a free enterprise system and socialism...

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Mrs. Obama said her husband's effort to bring people together is grounded in the lessons he learned growing up. "You don't rip your opponents apart, because you never know when you're going to have to sit right down next to them and figure something out," she said. "That's how he was raised. I get the sense that the Obamas are "good people", with integrity and grit and determination. Like Michelle, I am saddened to see the "fear bomb" being deployed all the time - the tactic of saying Barack's middle name when denouncing him, as if that alone makes some kind of case about the man. Then they hide behind their intent, saying "it's just his name... is he ashamed of his own name?"... as if people are utterly ignorant. It's a miserable tactic, and I hope people can rise above it.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Ellis B. I lived in Illinois in 2004 when Obama was elected. The only reason that he won was because his republican challenger, Jack Ryan, got caught in a sex scandal late in the campaign. Obama's people got Jack Ryan's sealed divorce records unsealed, which had allegations from his ex-wife of adultery. So much for politics of hope. Once Jack Ryan was out of the way, the national republican party made an odd choice and sent Alan Keyes of Maryland to set up residence in Illinois to finish the run against Obama. Essentially, Obama won his senate seat because it ended up being uncontested. Had Jack Ryan's divorce records remained sealed, Obama would have lost big to his republican challenger. Michelle’s' story about Obama over coming his name in 2004 is well, a fairy tale.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Ok Clintonites...before you jump all over Obama's so called lack of experience, and substance, and yada yada yada...Consider this:

"'The same old experience is irrelevant. I can only imagine how difficult her life has been and continues to be in a country that judges her by how she looks. She has not played the race card, people, but she has given an accurate accounting of life for people of color in this country. The only "card" that I have seen played in this race is that of "gender" and the "permanent victim" role of the opponent. Sadly, Clinton and most of her supporters are in denial aboout why she cant win. Its not the media fault and the American people are not being duped into voting for Obama. The reason is plain and simple. Her husband(Bill Clinton) and the fact that close to 50% of Americans do not like her. She keeps talking about experience but she is refusing to remember what we all know. Outside of policy, the 90's was all that great. It was filled with scandals and bitter fighting which left the country both embarassed and divided. It was the Democratic Policies that made the 90's a sucess. Not the Clintons. The Clintons were the reason Democrats lost the house in '94. So the most important things in voters mind will be character. We know Bill Clinton has none. Now we find out that Hillary has no character either. And these lastest attacks from her and her campaign along with releasing a photo to the republicans speaks volumes to that.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

i'm a woman who will NOT be voting for hillary clinton. i'm voting for OBAMA. it amuses me to hear these so-called women claiming that we should all blindly support her based on gender alone. oh, but then again, i'm black--so i guess the old sojourner truth refrain of "ain't i a woman?" would be appropos in this election cycle.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Let's take a close look in honesty at what preconceptions, biases, and prejudices we have hold towards those who have different thoughts and ideas from ours. Bush did in 2000--he didn't want to debate his opponent either).

His name is the least of his problems.

BTW Michelle, your husband won his Senatorial election because Jack Ryan got outed in a sex scandal, and your husband had the good fortune of running against Alan Keyes, who set up a sham residence in Illinois so he could run at the last minute. A moldy dust mop could beat Alan Keyes. If there was any fear involved it was that Alan Keyes might have ended up being the junior Senator from Illinois. That would scare me too.

So what was the point of this statement again Mrs. Obama? Oh yeah...unity, hope and change. I must have forgotten that while reading your implied statement that anyone who doesn't vote for your husband is a racist.

Barack Obama: change you shouldn't believe in.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Shame on you Michelle. I can tell you this, Hillary will NOT do well in Missouri. You "Democrats" cannot even see what you have here in Barack Obama. I have relatives in the military and a few are over there right now. I respect and honor their service, but I feel that these brave men and women talents are being wasted trying to control a civil war and propping up a government that has NO incentive to pull things together. I am also extremely tired of the partisan bickering. I find it interesting that the African American Sen Obama supporters are the ones playing the "race" card in order to get their man the nomination, and yet when Sen Clinton tries to play the "gender" card, they get slammed by Sen Obama's supporters. Talk about a Teflon candidate. His surrogates seem to be able to say whatever they want, play the race card with impunity, avoid the specifics of any issue and still the Obamanation can slam, slur, and otherwise oppress Sen. Clinton and her supporters with no consequences. This is the face of "Change we can Believe In", Change for the sake of change can mean going backwards rather than forward, Progress (change that moves us forward as a nation) means ignoring both race and gender and voting on the ISSUES that affect ALL Americans. I'm still waiting for someone to talk about PROGRESS.

Michelle Obama on the 'fear bomb'

Deborah, you're right...I find the whole dynamic is as interesting as it is frightening. It is exposing an ugliness and a double standard that negates any "hope" of progress but rather "promises" enormous steps backwards...
