Why is it that doing things the way they have always been done has suddenly become "unfair" this year? What a strange phenomenon . . .

P.S. What happened with all the "voting irregularities" in New York and New Mexico? Why do I get the feeling that there will be some "strangeness "in Texas and Ohio as well?

The Clinton campaign may well be remembered as historic, but not for the reason she thinks. It is historic as the most negative and disingenuous campaign of any Democratic candidate. It is historic for its repeated departure from truth. It is historic for playing one segment of Americans against another, by race, gender, religion and national origin. Hillary's approach to the nomination is reminiscent of blackmail. Unless the voters reverse their movement to select another candidate, she proposes to crash the Democratic Party and hand the presidency to McCain.
Is this the kind of leadership we want from our next president? Or would we rather have a president who brings people together? Would we rather have a president who can unite people across party lines to implement solutions to problems and brings healing to wounds inflicted by too many years of the politics of the past? We have the opportunity to choose such a president.
May God help us to always choose the high road in making choices of such magnitude.

Clinton trying to manipulate the system again? Are you really surprised? Lets see...

- In Iowa, the Clinton campaign tried to tell Iowa College Students, who heavily favored Barack Obama, that if they did not “grow up in Iowa” that they “should not caucus”. “It’s terrible to have candidates making misleading statements about whether or not students can caucus,” said Alexandra Acker, executive director of the Young Democrats of America.

New Hampshire, 7 different polls, including those within the Clinton campaign, showed Obama over Clinton 39% to 30%. The paper ballots in NH (20% of total) showed Obama over Clinton 39% to 30%, but the Electronic machines oddly had Clinton 39% to Obama 30%. I'm sure that's just a coincidence....

- Nevada... law suits on Las Vegas caucus sites. Then numerous Clinton precinct captains shutting the doors to the caucus sites at 11:30am, even tho state law said noon, refusing to allow anyone else in.

- New York Mayor Bloomberg charged that "fraud" was behind the unofficial results in the New York Dmocratic presidential primary that produced ero votes for Barack Obama in some districts. In 80 districts, many headed by Clinton supporters, Barack Obama received ZERO votes.

- California, hundreds of thousands of Independants, heavily supporting Obama, had their ballots tossed out due to "issues". Some counties tossed out ALL of the Independant ballots.

- New Mexico, 3 ballot boxes were taking to the HOME of an election official, who was the husband of a elected official in NM that had publically endorced Clinton. Clinton barely won NM after a long count of those ballots.

You can find these stories all over from credible sources. Clinton's will stop at nothing to gain power.

Clinton is ready from day one huh? If that is true then how come she was never ready from day one for the caucuses? Her campaign should be an indication that she clearly isn't ready to handle the job on day 1,001 let alone day 1. She has mismanaged her money, she has hired terrible advisors and she has run an inept campaign. If you ask me who I want answering the phone @ 3 a.m. I would say Obama because Clinton has proven she has no idea how to run a big organization. Don't let this say-anything-do-anything candidate steal this election. Didn't we get enough of that from George W. Bush?

I have tried to express support for Obama without criticzing the Hillary too unfairly. I have stated on these threads I thought Hillary was intelligent, well schooled and would make a good President. But why when I wake every day I see some new slick and sly attempt by the Clinton camp to challenege and ignore rules or attempts to bend the rules in her favor, or to persuade people that some votes were insignificant. First it was the threats to sue the caucas process in NV even though not disappproving of the same months earlier. Then it was attempting to include the Michigan and Florida delegates against the very party rules they previously agreed too. Then it was belittling the voters in smaller states including Wisconsin. Then it was the arguement that superdelegates should not vote in line with their constituencies even though superdelegates can vote as they please. Now it is a threat to challenge the Texas caucas process. At some point even you the Clinton supporters have to recognize the very desparation that the Clintons are expressing and the very clear pattern that they will do anything to win this election. Oh boy do I hope all this is over after March 4 so I don't have to wake up to any more reports that the Clintons are attempting to change or bend rules to win this election.

Now we will see the Old Chiago Daly politics again. Obamas wife earlier had said we can hold our own and win cause we are from Chicago. Well we've seeb it before and will again here. A new ad will come out of Obamas camp. If any substance will come out this week end(most viewers)If it comes out at last min. better look at it twice. Like in court things can be said and later found to be untrue but harm done. If you put out an ad or time space against your opponent where they have no time to dispute it or people have to time to check it out you have got the damage done.Just check best you can what you see.

Why is everyone being able to vote wrong? Why is it wrong for people to be able to vote privately?I have heard people being pressured now to vote as they are told.All must unite!!Thats all well and good Unite after the nomination is made.Will everyone than??Obama says I can have her votes she cannt get mine.????This is why I think we should only have reg.primary elections.People caucas there choice and have to change it if not enough others agree. You can get hour or two off to vote not all at same time for hours and hours. Just my opinion.plus when you have to stand for your choice it gives another way for intimadation.Didnt we fight to have all this eliminated??

Funny how back in 1972 exposing attempts to steal elections was important media business. Where are the Woodward and Bernsteins probing these stories NOW and not as a footnote months or years after the election? These stories should lead all news casts until they are resolved.

There is nothing for the campaigns to "agree to". It is up to each state party organization to make their rules and run their process. The campaigns don't have any right to "agree" or "disagree". When the Clinton campaign went to court in Nevada the judges swatted them away like flies.

A recent article in The New Republic makes a good case that supports the claim of race baiting being used as a strategy by some in the Obama camp.

“A review of what actually happened shows that the charges that the Clintons played the “race card” were not simply false; they were deliberately manufactured by the Obama camp and trumpeted by a credulous and/or compliant press corps in order to strip away her once formidable majority among black voters and to outrage affluent, college-educated white liberals as well as college students.”

Quite a charge the author, Sean Wilentz makes and one I would hope is not true. But as a news junky and a follower of Democratic Party Politics for nearly 45 years I found it odd that two very savvy Pols like the Clintons would put their great standing with black voters into jeopardy by being in any way derogatory about matters racial. Over zealous supporters can do stupid things while trying to help and that is understandable. But if a Co-Chairman of a campaign participates in promulgating mis-information of such a damaging nature and brands others as racist as a ploy to gain political advantage then we as Democrats and fair minded people need to dig into the facts to find out the truth.

You can find Wilentz’s article, Race Man in the latest issue of The New Republic. Read it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. If you agree that there is something to this and maybe some more investigating should be done then make your voice heard.

Now we hear of another accusation that turns out to be baseless and yet, judging by the blogs here, the damage has been done.

I have no doubt that many of these very nasty blogs that target either Clinton or Obama are submitted by individuals that have no intention of voting for either candidate come the general election just as I know some Republicans will game the system and vote in Democratic primaries where they can to skew the results in a way that favors their end game. As a Democrat and even more so, as an American I want the very best candidate to be our next President. To determine whom that may be we need the truth to be reported and we need to stay aware of the real vs. the invented news.

Like I have stated to bloggers here before. Hillary is seeking the Presdiency because she wants to run this country. And therein lies her problem. A President is elected to lead a nation, not to run a country. There is a big difference. Hillary is a micro-manager who wants to have her hands in everything. She is similar to a boss who looks over your shoulder all the time. One who tells you to do it their way when you make suggestions and one who destroys creativity, team work and particpation because things always have to be done their way. In other words she wants to run this country rather than lead a nation where creativity and participation in decison-making are not only acceptable but encouraged.

Take a look at Hillary's proposals. Leaflets, pamphlets, long-winded documents and manuals. For every issue she has to come out with a written plan. There is nothing wrong with having plans. But Hillary is a detail and ownership fanatic who is not open to the ideas, thoughts and suggestions of others. If the Presidency were a position where no help or assistance was needed or required and a person could effectively and in a timely fashion handle all aspects of the job and those duties of all federal government fucntions then perhaps she would be the best choice. But the Presidency is a position that requires a great deal of assistance and a great many people performing their own work and duties, and an atmosphere that requires compromise and team work and creativity under the general guidance of a leader. Hillary's micro-management style is the opposite of what this country needs in a person to lead a nation. That is why her negatives are so high and it is why she will not win this election.

Well how about the entire year of 2007 when Hillary was t5outed in every major news market as the "next president"? Nothing and no one had a chance to stop her or to even slow her down. However the american voters saw it differently. The narrative is always a Clinton comeback. The news media and "all" of the talking heads are trying to figure out to stop Barack Obama. What must or should Hillary do? The rightwing media all over the country is spewing out such hateful rhetoric it suggest a veiled call to stop him by any means necessary. And now the evidence of this is now being realized in the democratic nomination race. That old hispanic lady saying that Obama's problem is that he's "black". Now come on folks, do you actually believe that this wasn't prompted in some way? His ame, his color and or race. His speech, his appeal. It has all contributed to the fodder of hateful racist people who know damn well that this is a good and decent man. And extremely intelligent and able to lead this nation. I've been saying right along that it was Obama's camp that played the race card and that Obama could have put an end to the whole thing at the outset with a simple statement.
