The Obama NAFTA lies are hurting him in Ohio where he has lied to Ohioans about NAFTA or lied to Canada about NAFTA. The Canadian TV has named the Obama source who told them that Obama won't do anyting about NAFTA, he's just pandering to Ohio voters. Obama is a fraud.

Hillary has already proven she can win big in the big states that are the must wins for the Dems in the November. Her credentials are unmatched. Hillary is the most qualified and most electable candidate in the race of any party. A vote for Obama now is a vote for McCain in November.

Senator Clinton’s new line is about “what happens when the lights and cameras are off, who can you trust then?” Well, since she admits nobody has experience with the 3am call until they’re President and has said instead that voters should look at what people have done before, let’s do precisely that. In fact, let’s look at the past 3 months. When the lights were off and the cameras were gone during the past 3 months, she ran what was supposed to be the "inevitable" campaign and what had the most extensive establishment support in campaign history STRAIGHT into the ground.

The candidate with 100% of the advantages and a lock on the Democratic establishment support until the past 4 weeks (when people stopped being afraid of Clinton recriminations if they didn’t support her) has lost 11 contests in a row and has spent her campaign into debt due to extraordinarily wasteful spending on among other things, Mark Penn, the Senator's Chief Strategist who also happens to be a major lobbyist for the Exelon Corporation (yes, the same one he keeps trying to tar and feather Barack for).

On Saturday, The Dallas Morning News got a hold of the Clinton campaign's training materials for their precinct captains, and it looks like they are endorsing strong-arm tactics to try to disrupt or change the outcome of the caucus on Tuesday, March 4th:

The materials say in part, "DO NOT allow the supporter of another candidate to serve in leadership roles."

It goes on to say, "If our supporters are outnumbered, ask the Temporary Chair if one of our supporters can serves [sic] as the Secretary, in the interest of fairness.

"The control of the sign-in sheets and the announcement of the delegates allotted to each candidate are the critical functions of the Chair and Secretary. This is why it is so important that Hillary supporters hold these positions."

The instructions cited above explicitly violate the rules of the Texas Democratic Party for handling the caucuses (officially called "precinct conventions"). Citing the Texas Democratic Party rules for 2008, Article IV, Part B, Section 6:

(a) Call to Order by the Precinct Chair, or, in the Chair’s absence, by any qualified participant.

(b) Preparation by the Precinct Chair of the Temporary Roll of the Convention. This shall be a list of qualified participants who are present, including their residence addresses with city or town....

(c) Election from among those present of a Permanent Convention Chair, Secretary, and such other Officers necessary to conduct the business of the Convention.

Now, see what the Clinton campaign has done here? They said, "If our supporters are outnumbered, ask the Temporary Chair if one of our supporters can serves [sic] as the Secretary, in the interest of fairness." However, as IV.B.6.c clearly states, the Secretary must be ELECTED, not appointed via a plea for "fairness."

(To CLARIFY: The Clinton training materials quoted in Trailblazer do not say "temporary secretary," which would be appointed by the temporary chair during the early sign-in process before coming to order; they say "secretary," which should be elected, and their description of the duties of the "chair" and "secretary" make it clear that they are not referring to the temporary chair and temporary secretary that open the meeting. If this is a misstatement on their part or a misquote by the Dallas Morning News, it is shocking that they haven't bothered to correct it after all this time given that it would inadvertently tell their supporters to break the rules.)

Furthermore, it is particularly illustrative that this only applies "if our supporters are outnumbered"; in contrast, they are told "DO NOT allow the supporter of another candidate to serve in leadership roles," meaning that if the roles are reversed there is no similar plea for "fairness."

Moreover, in the Nevada caucus, there were formal complaints filed with the Nevada Democratic Party regarding over 1,000 reported incidents of irregularities, such as Clinton supporters closing caucuses early and excluding Obama voters (among other acts of voter intimidation, exclusion, etc.), and the Clinton precinct workers were given written instructions that said, quote, "It's not illegal unless they [the temporary precinct chairs] tell you so." Therefore, I am forced to to disturbing realization that not only do their current Texas precinct training materials instruct them to break the rules, but that this is a behavior that they have apparently engaged in previously. As a result, I conclude that it is alarmingly plausible (if not PROBABLE) that such voting irregularities -- normally the hallmark of "banana republics" and other one-party systems that use voting as a facade to legitimize a propped-up dictator -- will occur in the Texas Democratic caucuses on March 4th.

I, personally, cannot in good conscience support any campaign that promotes such deplorable tactics.

Experience, judgement? What good is judgement if the people can't believe you? Was it good judgement for Obama to say to the American people last week that he'd demand NAFTA be re-negotiated while one of his advisors was telling Canadians officials "not to worry"? And, just a few days ago, he was saying that you have to say what you mean and do what you say. He tries to weasel around that he has gone to the same church for 20 years but doesn't really agree with everything espoused by that church. He says he's tried to run a "clean" campaign, but he continually makes arrogant remarks about Clinton. He claims he's some how different than other poliiticans and "things will be different." Then why are black super delegates being threatened, harassed to announce their vote for announce. To borrow one of his phrases, no, make that Duval Patrick's phrases: Words? Just words? Yes, Mr. Obama, they're words. And, they're very important, especially when you say you're running a campaign based on transparency.

I think Obama is feeling the heat to close the deal because there is more news coverage now on him and it is calling into question his experience and past. He was on ABC's Good Morning America this morning and he was asked about his deal on the house he bought. Obama would not answer the question yes/no on whether he would supply documents on that sale. Looking a little guilty or like he has something got hide. Also, the head-to-head national polls between him and McCain are now showing him behind and show Hillary even with McCain. The argument that he would do better against McCain in November no longer holds water. So, he is trying very hard not to show he is becoming desperate. The longer it goes the better for Hillary. If Hillary wins both Texas and Ohio, I think Obama is on the ropes.

Regarding the Suffolk poll that shows Clinton leading in Ohio by 12 points (52% Clinton to 40% for Obama, 4% undecided), this poll looks different when you look at the polling sample which overwhelmingly favors Clinton.

The sample consisted of:
-- 55% women, 46% men
-- 63% over age 55, 85% over age 45 (though the median age in Ohio is 37)
-- 88% white, 8% black (though the population is 12% black)

It is clear that Clinton's base was disprotionately represented in the sample. But those polled were also asked: "Regardless of who you personally support, who do you believe will be the next President of the United States - Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or John McCain?", the results were as follows:

Barack Obama 39%
Hillary Clinton 30%
John McCain 14%
Undecided 15%

He does business just like the people he attacks. Numerous times in the past he has "made mistakes" because "he's not perfect" he claims and yet he wants to preach about his supperior judgement over Hillary Clinton and others.

Obama constantly says one thing and does something else, and then turns around and says things like, what I meant to say was, and what I meant to do was, or I meant to vote and I meant to vote opposite of the way that I voted.

I find it astounding that Hillary's campaign has repeatedly moved the goalposts during the past two months and nobody has really called them on it.

1. New Hampshire: Clinton's campaign went from super-frontrunner to claiming victory if they even got within 10 points of Obama. They of course pulled off a completely fair victory, but this is exactly the sort of poll-reading and triangulation that has been a cornerstone of Hillary's campaign.

2. South Carolina: Two weeks before the primary, the Black vote was split roughly 50-50. The morning of the vote, the Clinton campaign was writing off the entire state as though there was some Black conspiracy to keep her out of the White House. As a 22-year-old Black male, I fondly recall the work the Clintons did during my youth for us. But now, somehow, any state with a high Black population doesn't count. That's much more offensive than anything Bill has said or done.

3. Nevada: The moment the restaurant workers' union endorsed Obama, a massive push was made by the Clintons to keep them from voting in their workplaces. This smacks of disenfranchisement, since most, if not all, casinos are 24-hour establishments. Citizens working during voting hours, therefore, would not have been able to vote anywhere at all. Then, Bill was seen raising the specter of voter intimidation. Another attempt to make a race not count in the public eye.

4. Florida/Michigan: After repeatedly stating in writing and in press conferences that these contests should not and would not count, Hillary, Mark Penn, Howard Wolfson, and several surrogates raise charges that not counting these votes completely as is (without any sort of re-vote) would be not only unfair, but a dangerous move come November. Over the past month or so, this has been a constant presence in their argument for Hillary taking the nomination without winning the delegate race.

5. Super Tuesday: on December 31, 2007, Hillary said that she would campaign in every state until Super Tuesday and that they would wrap up the nomination on that day. Period. On Super Tuesday, her campaign claimed unequivocal victory desipite losing the delegate race, popular vote race, and state count, because they won a handful of big states. Furthermore, they criticized Kerry and Kennedy for not being able to deliver Massachussets. As far as I can tell, no endorsement has ever single-handedly delivered a state for a candidate. Again, they moved the goalposts.

6. February: Since Super Tuesday, Howard Wolfson has repeatedly stated that Obama would probably win most or all contests in February because those states were fundamentally slanted in his favor. To me, this is the weakest argument to make. Saying that there are states that your candidate, "the strongest candidate," has no chance to even compete in several states no matter what, seems to fundamentally concede roughly every state Bush carried in 2004. Furthermore, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Virginia were states that Hillary had a lead in on February 6. It makes no sense to me to say that your candidate simply cannot compete regardless of money, message, or endorsements.

7. Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania: To compliment the writing off of the February contests, the Clinton campaign has repeatedly pointed to Texas and Ohio as sure thing victories for Hillary. She held commanding 20+ point leads there on February 6, and has spent nearly the entire month there. In the past few weeks, the numbers have tightened and Obama has pulled slightly ahead in Texas. Recently, Howard Wolfson has stated that Obama would need to win all four states by commanding margins or all momentum would shift back to Hillary. With regard to Pennsylvania, Hillary's lead has dwindled from 20+ to 4 or 5 depending on which poll you read. All this before Barack has even showed up.

It just seems silly to me to suggest that certain states don't count, that others should count much more, and that your candidate by default has no chance to win in others. I don't know if her campaign thinks we're easily influenced or just dumb, but their constant trash-talking and goalsetting has painted them into a corner that they can no longer escape from. On the math alone, it would be borderline impossible for her to win the nomination without big big wins in at least 2 of tomorrow's contests. As a democrat, it would sicken me to see her campaign change messages yet again and say that only the top X% of population states should matter. It was that very flawed logic that allowed Bush to put together a string of small states to discount the likes of New York, New Jersey, California, and Massachusetts.

I'm by no means a Hillary Hater, so please don't take it that way. I actually supported her during my time as a college student at the University of Iowa. It was there that I attended a rally and heard her deliver empty response after empty response when addressing key issues, because she was playing to the extreme middle and feared taking a tough stance. When questioned on this, Wolfson said she was already in "general election mode." It's time for a campaign to be upfront and open even in times of mistake. Take Barack's response on meeting with foreign leaders. This was originally viewed as a major blunder, but rather than back off of it, he embraced it and justified his point, making him look not only strong but trustworthy. If Hillary somehow pulls off the impossible, I will support her, but each passing day, it's looking less and less likely and it's time to think about what's best for the party.

MSNBC is the only new org to report on this that didn't note that Obama appeared to mistakenly refer to Jay Rockefeller, the current chair of the intelligence committee, who actuallyr read the intelligence report and voted FOR the resolution. MSNBC reports as fact that Obama referred to Bob Graham but Obama never mentioned Graham. Full quoute: "Now I have to say, when it came to making the most important foreign policy decision of our generation - the decision to invade Iraq - Senator Clinton got it wrong. She didn't read the National Intelligence Estimate. Jay Rockefeller read it, but she didn't read it. I don't know what all that experience got her because I have enough experience to know that if you have a National Intelligence Estimate and the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee says, "You should read this, this is why I'm voting against the war," you should read it. I don't know how much experience you need for that."
