she can’t keep up this endless retooling of her message while John has already started the general election campaign. The only thing she can accomplish now is the Republican’s task for them by dragging down our strongest candidate. We saw in 2000 what happens when our nominee tries to run in crossfire. We get shot down.
First thoughts: Judgment Day

VOTER FRAUD IN OHIO;

Please check it out. The way it is now, it's certain we'll get another Goat-roper like Dubya.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

If anyone needs one more reason to vote for Obama, check out who's supporting Clinton...

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_030308/content/01125107.guest.html

First thoughts: Judgment Day

This race is going down to the convention and here is why.

Using the CNN numbers Obama has 1184 pledged delegates to Clintons 1031. They need 2025 delegates to get the nomination.

The remaining states are as follows:

Mississippi: 40
Ohio: 161
Rhode Island: 32
Texas: 228
Vermont: 23
Wyoming: 18
Pennsylvania: 188
Guam: 9
Indiana: 84
North Carolina: 134
West Virginia: 39
Kentucky: 66
Oregon: 65
Montana: 24
South Dakota: 23
Puerto Rico: 63

For a total of 1191. Obama needs over 71 % of the remaining pledged delegates and Clinton needs over 80% of the remaining pledged delegates. Now looking at the past voting Obama’s highest percentage of votes was 79% in the Idaho Caucuses. He has only come close to that number in the DC primary with 75%. Clinton has only come close to 80% in the Arkansas primary with 70%. The average in most primaries has been about 60 – 64 % Obama and 36 – 40 % Clinton in his wins. Clinton 55%-60% and Obama 40 – 45% in Clintons wins. The pressure is on Clinton to win big while Obama also needs to win big to clinch this. They can split todays elections and still not come out with a clear winner. Unless one of these two can win and win big it goes till August.
First thoughts: Judgment Day

I am of the opinion that no matter how this election comes out, Senator Clinton will find a way to spin it to her advantage and soldier on as long as she has the money. My hesitation about her is simply that I don't think the Presidency was ever intended to be the "right" of certain families. That, and she has shown poor judgment, her vote for Iraq being an example.

As to Jaycee...I like reading your stuff. It is thoughtful, and not just because we mostly agree. I like reading anything that causes me to think no matter if it is for Senator Clinton or Senator Obama.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Research your candidate and find out for yourself whether or not they will lead this country back to greatness. Don't depend on the media or some other third party to do it for you. It WILL BE WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT! Trust me!

First thoughts: Judgment Day

To be sure, Hillary's burning need to take the White House is what's driving her campaign even now. They like Bush have the Press in awe or at bay. No serious pressure for her to release tax returns( all candidates left in the race have released them), nor has she been held to light by convicted felons giving to her campaign. What I have heard the last week is how she is the victim. She even left open the lie that Obama is a musilim( he is not). The press wants a story . The story here is the comeback of Hillary. Regardless, of what Hillary wants the facts are she will not achieve the necessary vote totals to pick up enough delegates to ovrcome Obama. The end result will be great theater but the Clinton's will, as they did in the 2000 elections, hand the Presidency and possibly the Senate or House to the Republicans. Then the Devisive Hillary can arrgue for her mandates on Helath care but get nonbthig passed. In the end our country suffers. Hillary will write her memoirs and bemoan the right wing conspiracy and make millions on our backs. It is my beleif John McCain will beat her in the general. Her experience will be flushed out as nothing in comparison to his.( on Iraq he has the stronger claim of consistency than she does. All she can argue is it was Bush's fault. He can argue I took on Bush and got the surge in place to put Iraq on the path to stability. Of course no significant political markers have been met) He will go to the center and Hillary will be stuck with a depressed democratic electorate because she overturned the elected delegates. It's a shame that the Clintons believe the U.S. owes them the Presidency. They owe us a better choice than the same devisive politics we have had since the early 1980's.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

PLEASE for GOD SAKE; don't destroy our democracy by stealing the one thing that makes us DEMOCRATIC. Our right to vote for who we choose. Adam in OH, I pray that this is not true and that we are not going to have our votes stolen and another FLORIDA is on the rise. WE CAN"T TAKE THAT AGAIN....SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING PLEASEEEEEE, we will be DOOMED AS AMERICANS..DON"T LET THIS HAPPEN for GOD SAKE.

ARE WE THIRD WORLD NOW?....ARE WE STILL THE SUPERPOWER?..who have we become....THIS is INSANE and SHAMEFUL the WORLD IS WATCHING.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Somthing for you all to think about here, in TX, OH, RI and VT, before going to the polls today. This is the Democratic Party Primary, and yet, at least one of the contenders, was an ARDANT Republican in their past life.

In fact this person was PRESIDENT of the YOUNG REPUBLICANS at their alma mater. So Republican were they, that this person passionately campaigned for Barry Goldwater. This person canvassed South Chicago looking for voter fraud perpetuated by...Democrats!!

Don't belive me? I figured. So check out Matt Taibbi and Rolling Stone's great article a few issues back.

So who is this arch-Republican? Why, none other than the candidate who is running on their long and storied "experience". Hillary Clinton.

If part of your experience is being a Republican, if part of your experience is holding the poor man down (read the South Chicago incident referenced above), then doesn't that part of your experience count too?

Whatever your proclivities to Obama are, my friends and fellow citizens, at least he was and always has been a Democrat. I would think that fact should matter quite heavily in the DEMOCRATIC PARTY Primaries.

Just a thought...

First thoughts: Judgment Day

The prospect of another five months of Kitchen Sink politics is de-moralizing. Thank you, Hillary for sucking the hope out of a generation.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Hillary is throwing the kitchen sink and all the mud in her backyard at Senator Obama, and the U.S., being the nation that it is, will let some of that smear and slur stick on him. The Clintons' negative, win-at-all-costs, divisive, nasty, lying ruthless, relentless, dirty, me-first, dynastic-driven politics may yet win them the nomination. Woe then to the Democratic Party. Many of us citizens will believe, rightfully so, that the race has been won by cheating and bullying, just in the way the Republican swiftboating party wins elections. With Hillary, it will be the status quo, the way things are done in Washington, and a sure way to turn off millions of new Dems and senior citizen Dems like me. Even if the Clinton dynasty will return to the WH for eight more years (and who will clean up after them this time?), their dynastic rule will mark a deepening cynicism, apathy, and despair in the American people. He is a product of the one of the most corrupt political machines in the country with Illinois politics. He's gotten his own sweet heart land deals similar to the Clintons. He talks about all the things he is going to do, without have any ability to show us what he's done - mostly because he hasn't done anything. The press has swooned over him, and hasn't challenged him on any aspect of his beliefs, plans, or (lack of) accomplishments. One media watch dog group noted that 84% of network and cable news outlets were positive about Obama. That is a remarkable number. In contrast, 53% were positive about Clinton. Now even nail biting wins, or even a split in Ohio & Texas is being proclaimed by the Clinton camp as evidence that she should get the nomination. Unless Hillary wins decisively in both Texas and Ohio then the only way she can come in ahead in delegate counts is by seating the Russian Election like results from Florida and Michigan. It would be a sham and the super-delegates know as much. Look for the party leaders and super delegates to coalesce around Obama unless Hilary picks up substantial ground in the delegate math after Tuesday. Its not rocket science.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

"However, this is also an opportunity for Obama to knock Clinton out. Watch the democratic party slip into a civil war whose first phase would not end until the dust had settled at the convention. And whose future, post convention would very likely be of two separate parties as the looser of the convention battle or their supporters would simply form a third party.
2. Look at the sentiments of the undeclared party leadership as expressed by Governor Bill Richardson when he set the bar this past weekend. He said that whoever has the most pledged delegates after Tuesday March 4 should be the nominee. If you follow this expression then what we should be watching for is a major swing in super delegates post March 4 to the candidate with the most pledged delegates. If this were to occur then the landscape post March 11 would look very different.
Obama would garner a total of 550 or so pledged super delegates. When coupled with his total of pledged delegates of about 1474-1500 post March 11 he would be within 40-70 delegates needed for the nomination.
In this scenario look to the party leadership to exert leadership influence over Hillary's 240 pledged super delegates to resolve the matter for the good of the party if Hillary were to still publicly buck the will of the party & the voters.
I agree that it is unlikely, barring a sweep by Obama on March 4 that there will be a resolution to the nominee question then.
I am equally sure that if post March 11 Hillary does not have the majority of pledged delegates the party will put the race for the nomination to rest long before an effort to split the party and declare civil war ever gained credence.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

I have finally reached the point where I can't vote for Hillary...and I am sure people are going to say that is horrible...but I need a President I respect. She and Bill have killed that for me. I have three sisters and an educated outlook and don't have any issue with women at all but Hillary is a bad person I have finally realized...

media bias ugh...Can everyone please put it in perspective...if any candidate had lost 11 contests, run this negative of a campaign, had there own campaign chair people with such venom, and who threatened the party and brought such negativity to the youth and next generation...they would have been forced out...Hillary has such a backdated...long standing influence behind the scenes ...If she wins...I am sorry (please don't get mad it just makes it worse) I see there is no point in the people not going along with the machine...sad.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Chuck in NY:

Cheer up. In the recent report produced by the Consulate General in Chicago, there was no intention to convey, in any way, that Senator Obama and his campaign team were taking a different position in public from views expressed in private, including about NAFTA. We deeply regret any inference that may have been drawn to that effect.

The people of the United States are in the process of choosing a new President and are fortunate to have strong and impressive candidates from both political parties. This year I 'hoped' for a $20,000 bonus, but did not get it. I 'hoped' for a new car, and a lot of people I know rallied around me and also 'hoped' I could get the new car. They told me 'yes you can', but no new car, because the bonus I hoped for was too small.

The point is simple. Hoping makes people feel good, gives them a sense of purpose. Obama telling his supporter 'We can change, and I care about you' is the same old political B.S. we've had from at least 1 candidate in every election for the last 20 years. You can't say 'Hillary throwing the kitchen sink is old dirty politics that America is sick of', then rally behind a speech where the speaker says he cares about you, therefore the world will be safe.

Most voters never like the candidate they vote for entirely. I went with Clinton in my primary on super tuesday ( the real one ) because she'd be the best candidate for foreign-policy and foreign-relations. As much as I don't like her wholly, I can also say I would sleep soundly at night knowing she's running the show.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

I am so disappointed in Hillary Clinton's tactics. I spent much of 1998 and 1999 defending both Bill and Hillary to family and friends. NO MORE!! Her tactics in this election has turned me off. She has been ungracious and willing to employ any dirty tactic to win. Hillary states she is the most experienced to handle a national emergency phone call at 3 AM but the question begs, what specific time in her past has she been required to handle such an emergency and thereby makes her the most experienced? Her top aides were asked the same question yesterday and it took them a couple minutes to think before they could answer. And their answer, she has handled diffcult situations throughout her life. What is that!!?? Hillary's stump speeches are no better then Obamas. He is better at giving speeches but if you have listened to their stump speeches tell me just what specific and detailed plans have either offered beyond the typical overgeneralized positions on health care, national security, the economy, etc. None!! So based on your apparent support of Hillary you "think" or you can "dream" she has provided specific and detailed respones regarding the issues but the fact is she has not done so any more or any less then Obama. It gets a little tiring hearing Hillary's specific and detailed response to why she thinks she would make a better President from day one when she supports this position with nothing but I have been through tough times. What the heck does that mean. She has been a Senator a few more years then Obama, that's it. She was not Governor of Arkansas when Bill was Governor and she was not President of the United States when Bill was the President. So her "first hand" experience is basically limited to her time as Senator just as Obamas is limted to his time as a State and US Senator.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Sadly, I think that Hillary and her deceitful and dirty politics might cost Dems the election in November. You wouldn't believe how many lifelong Dems that I have heard say they will not support her because of her dirty political tricks. She doesn't really care about the truth or integrity...she only cares for herself. I am a lifelong Dem, and I will vote for John McCain before I vote for Hillary Clinton. No wonder the party elders are getting worried and people on the right want Hillary to be the nominee.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Hey Shawn in FL,

I think that is the higher goal; if SHE doesn't make the White House to support the dems, the she would be darn if ANY other dem will! And so the rest of the world begins to wake up.. As a New Hampshire rez., this is what some of us have been himmering and hollaring about since she left this state. That was the impression in the dust she left behind..

This is what her supports don't get; she can win the nomination but, she's going to drown in the general election. And this thing she calls "experience" will NOT be able to do anything to help her..

At least Barack stands a better chance against the repubs in the general election.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

To think we would, or should, EVER be on a first name basis with our President is a farce. The very notion speaks of disrepect for the office and the people it serves. I hope the people can see through the deceit and reject Clinton for who she is; A CLINTON.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Obama's supporters will have his blood on their hands.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Sign the petition against Obama.

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/pledge-to-vote-against-obama-in-the-general-election
First thoughts: Judgment Day

Hillary Clinton is one of the DIRTIEST politicians in modern history, and she takews pride in it. Wow...young-uns, when you have been around long enough you will see right thru empty headed all-air no-substance candidates like Obama. He's a light-weight who uses air time to discuss how his mommy,...er, wife can command a room with her styale and height and hairdos! He has NO plans in place to back up his yammer, nuttin but a bunch of cotton-candy Platitudes. Guys, this country is in BIG trouble...huge. We need a strong, intelligent person at the helm. Maybe some cant remember back to all of the Clinton years, but admit it or not, those were great years for the people of the USA. Dont believe me..check the records. Parents were able to put thier kids thru college AND still eat! Underpriviledged kids got a chance to end up someplace besides prison, and a mom could go to work knowing her children had good care. Jobs were plentiful and our kids werent given KETCHUP (thanks so much Ronnie and Nancy for that sickness!) as a veggie on school lunches. What we Do NOT need now is another one of Oprahs HOBBIES, she has bought everything she wants for her friends...Oscar's, divorces, and now she wants to by her little self a nice brandy new President. She's fooled alot of people for a lot of years..dont be fooled with this..he does NOT have the goods. Did U see him on National TV storm off and sulk..twisted face and all after a big loss. This little boy needs to "GET IT"...The President of the USA needs some guts, needs to be tenacious, needs to be brillaint...we have the woman who has that, lets not throw our chance away to have a president (yes, with experienced back up..proven also to have the goods) in favor a man who MAY have the goods in a decade if the women in his life let him take his blows. I respect your opinions...and hope you will at least consider mine. Unity. Why can she not merely cede there are minor differences between her and her rival? Why not keep it positive? Why does she resort to negativism. Negativism murders.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Maybe SNL should do a piece on you three.
That's right; Larry, Cruley, and Moe has already been done.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

hill used to be a republican....

bush...clinton..bush...clinton!!!??

what happened to her tax returns??

obama 2008

First thoughts: Judgment Day

a) I am Canadian and there was a memo, at least according to our UNBIASED news agency. The Canadian gov't is scrambling, really....don't read too much into the denial. Our conservative govt has their own hands full with alleged scandals.

b) We have seen the last few days that Obama is pretty pathetic at playing defense. If that is any indication of how he is going to handle negative attention then he is TOAST in the general.

c) 11 in a row would be a valid arguement if the dems had 'winner take all' states. But they don't and delegate count is too close. If Sen Clinton had as few delegates as Huckabee then you could make that case.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

This election is not a beauty contest!! I am a young, white male from a rural area and I have supported Hillary since the beginning. I was open minded about Obama and have no bias against him, but come on, he is not ready to do this. It is very disappointing to see so many folks that think Obama is who we need running the show. We need a tough, hardnosed dem. that can push back against the GOP and get results. If Obama gets the nod and eventually 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., he is going to get a rude awakening. Obama may want change but he won't get it. Obama in 2016. Make the right choice folks, Hillary in 2008. Come back to the light!

First thoughts: Judgment Day

Hillary needs to go away ASAP. As a former supporter of hers, I'm disgusted that she's willing to have her supporters pick McCain over Obama in the general-- yes, she practically endorsed John McCain. She's purposefully ripping apart the party for her own gain. I'm appalled at her poorly run and nasty campaign.

First thoughts: Judgment Day

The longer the Democratic race forthe White House continues it only helps the Republicans. I am an American citizen and a democrat born and bred and I have as much right to have my vote counted as anyone else in this country. There was nothing we could do as democrats living in a bright red state to change it. So instead our party decides to punish us like criminals by taking away our vote. Kudos to you sir. I clicked on the link to the daily KOS and read the piece written by Grassroots Mom. I then went to the Library of Congress website and looked into the records of both Clinton and Obama for myself (although I went back further than she did). Ultimately, I came to the same conclusion:: Obama not only has the edge on good ideas, but has introduced more of them in Congress as well. He also appears to garner more support for the bills he proposes. This speaks volumes because our next president is going to have to be able to get bi-partisan support to get things moving. Who can best do that? Check the record for yourself. One last thing... We Democrats really need to quit with the name-calling - it serves no purpose. Doing so plays right into the hands of the opposition. Why self-destruct before the convention?

First thoughts: Judgment Day

If Sen.Clinton wins the Dem. nomination,come Nov...I'm a Republician....
