(CNN) – As Hillary Clinton battles to keep her presidential bid alive, she may be getting help from an unlikely source: conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state's open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come.

"I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera," Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram.

He also said Clinton is more willing than the Republican National Committee and John McCain's campaign to criticize Barack Obama.

"We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically. It's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it, they don't have the stomach for it," Limbaugh continued. "As you probably know we're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC saying we're not going to be critical. Mark McKinnon of McCain's campaign said he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose.”

In January, liberal Daily Kos blogger Markos Moulitsas urged readers in Michigan to vote for Mitt Romney in the GOP primary for similar reasons. Romney went on to win Michigan, though exit polling showed Democrats who voted in that primary favored McCain.

On his Monday show, several listeners appeared dismayed that Limbaugh was urging them to support the New York senator.

"Wouldn't you love to cream Hillary though…why are you so afraid of her? Look at how ineptly she has campaigned against Obama," Limbaugh responded to one listener who said she wanted to see Clinton out of the race immediately.

First, she's insane.
Second, she's going to win 3 of 4 tonight.
Third, that's a good thing for the Democratic Party and for Barack Obama.

He has put himself into a what by ANY measure is a stunning position against a candidate who had the entire Democratic Establishment behind her and even today in Texas and Ohio has all the institutional advantages.

HOWEVER, he has to prove he can close the deal. His advisors are weak compared to Clinton's attack dogs. On This Week with George Stephanopolous 2 days ago, Howard Wolfson made David Axelrod look like a rookie. The underlying message from Wolfson was utter nonsense and he still cleaned Axelrod's clock. They have GOT to use some on the $150M+ to hire somebody who can go toe-to-toe with the nasty attack dogs. None of us may like it, but that's American politics, folks.

Filling stadiums and winning 24 contests was enough to put Barack into an even position with Hillary. We'll see after tomorrow if he has the killer instinct to make the changes in his message and to his team that he will HAVE to make in order to win the nomination. This "the math is on our side" won't work. Barack has noted it before but he better remember it now. If you're the challenger against the undisputed heavyweight champion, YOU DO NOT win based on the judges cards. You HAVE to knock out the champion.

They'll look at the situation objectively and start supporting Obama in greater numbers. They understand the problems a protracted nominating process brings. I have a friend who has access to exit polling data, and it's showing an Obama double-digit win in Texas, and a narrow victory in Ohio. Of course, it's still early (Hillary voters may come out late or are waiting for a break in the dismal weather). It also doesn't take into account the early voting (and it's been pretty widely reported that early voting in both states favored Obama).

I really don't care, since I'm a McCain supporter. However, it's pretty interesting for sure. Not good news for Clinton.

Clinton has complained and complained about media bias(somewhat valid) and Obama has looked pale when confronted with this dealings back in Chicago and the NAFTA flap. It's ok for both to be who they are, we want to see them in the true light.

As Chris Rock has said (and I paraphrase), 'I am ready for a woman president but not this woman'. Her campaign reminds me of the Bush/Rove techniques which I have found repulsive in the past. What's more, she voted for this war. Her husband is criminal in his pursuit of power and money and their ethics give them little legitimacy for criticizing anyone. If they screw up our chances for a new chapter in American politics, I will find myself in quite a blue funk. Needless to say, I can never vote for her. Everytime I hear her mendacious communication director, Howard Wolfson, speak, I become nauseated; the man might just as well rename himself Lee Atwater.

Politics doesn't have to be this way. It's up to Obama to be strong enough to rise above all the crap that they've thrown against him. The Canadian thing is a joke and any ethics concerns with Rezko just don't hold a candle to the things in which the Clintons have participated.

If they take this thing to Denver, I might have to travel to the convention to make my concerns known. I invite all of you of like mind to join me in Denver, if the Clinton machine tries to steal this nomination. It's time for a change and it's not about ideology, it's about process. I love this country and I just don't want things to go on as they have in the past. We have a real chance to make this quest for change become a reality. It's time to let people like the Clintons know that they can't steam roll their way through the American public.

And to you woman out there who are voting for Hillary because of her gender, you should consider as to whether or not, this is the woman that you want. Are the Clintons the team you want conducting politics as usual? It would be a shame if something as superficial as gender would influence your vote. BTW, I consider myself a feminist and welcome the day when I live in a country that will support a woman president. Unfortunately, the Clintons are just not the right choice.

When Mrs. Clinton made that statement she was in effect endorsing John McCain. In essence she was saying that if she does not get the nomination we should vote for John McCain because after her, he is the best choice for America.

English is a precise language and words do matter.
