The Clinton camp is telling folks to arrive at the caucus at 6:30 and
Obama is stressing 7:00pm.

This was forwarded to me. Please pass this around to all your Texas
Groups and anyone you know in the media! I was wondering today why
Hillary was telling her supporters to be at the caucus at 6:30!

In addition to the comments below, be aware that the potential impact
of this is that a full parking lot at 6:30 PM could dissuade late Obama
voters from casting their Primary ballot because they cannot find a
parking space. This could be considered impeding voting.

For Obama Precinct Captains who are monitoring their voting location on
March 4 (100 feet from the polling location until 7:00 pm or until the
last voter is done) stay alert and report any questionable activities
to the election judge and call the Obama Precinct Captain Hotline for
election day questions and concerns at 1-877-48-OBAMA (62262) or the
Texas Democratic Precinct Convention at 1-800-336-3254.

'Clinton has been telling her supporters to show up at 6:30
[Dallas/Mesquite speech on Saturday, March 1], while Obama keeps
stressing 7:00. I'm afraid there's going to be some shenanigans
involving cl osing the doors at caucus sites when at capacity or at 7:15
PM whichever comes first. There was a similar gambit run in Nevada
where the Clinton camp shut out a good number of caucus goers by
barring the doors.

Anybody who has got a line on Obama folks or Texas caucus goers please
pass along the heads up to show up early and not to get muscled. Know
your rights!

Compounding this issue is the possibility there may not be enough
caucus chairs to go around for the 8,000 sights leading to the 1st
person in the door being the caucus arbiter (TDP's apparent policy).

Again let's try to get the word out about this possibility as there is

That has particularly been the case with Mr. Harper’s Conservative government which keeps unusually tight control on information.
When question period arrived, it was Canada’s leading critic of Nafta, New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton, who raised an ABC News report that identified Mr. Harper’s chief of staff, Ian Brodie, as the source of the leak.
“Canadians have become increasingly alarmed at reports that the prime minister’s office has been interfering in the Democratic primaries with false accusations, trying to silence Barack Obama who simply wants to amend the Nafta,” Mr. Layton told Parliament before demanding that Mr. Harper fire Mr. Brodie, “the source of the interference.”
Mr. Harper, whose government summoned the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to investigate other leaks, ignored Mr. Layton’s suggestion about his top political aide.
Instead, Mr. Harper said the Canadian embassy in Washington “regretted the fact that information has come out that would imply that Senator Obama has been saying different things in public than in private. The government of Canada does not condone this and certainly regrets any implication.”

The Dallas Morning News and other sources have released details from Clinton campaign training materials it received on how Hillary plans to hijack the Texas caucuses tonight. According to the report, the Clinton campaign is pushing to train precinct captains (i.e., enforcers) for Texas' 8000 Democratic polling places with the aim of taking control of caucus sessions from which 67 of the state's delegates will be awarded. From these training materials it is clear that the Clinton campaign seeks to aggressively take control of caucuses so as to produce a better result for Hillary, perhaps through strong-arm tactics. "DO NOT allow the supporter of another candidate to serve in leadership roles" at caucus sites, the Clinton materials read, clearly expressing the aim of asserting Clintonite control over caucus proceedings, "...If our supporters are outnumbered, ask the Temporary Chair if one of our supporters can serve as the Secretary, in the interest of fairness." It would seem, however, that "fairness" is the last thing on the minds of those who wrote these materials: "The control of the sign-in sheets and the announcement of the delegates allotted to each candidate are the critical functions of the Chair and Secretary," they continue, "This is why it is so important that Hillary supporters hold these positions." Clearly the Clinton campaign hopes that their foot soldiers will be able suppress Obama support by taking over caucus sites, gaining control of the proceedings, and perhaps even intimidating or otherwise preventing Obama supporters fully taking part. Given Obama's strength of sheer numbers in Texas it seems unlikely that Clinton and her minions would be able to actually take over caucus sites statewide without some pretty stiff opposition, particularly in delegate-rich population centers such as Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth where Obama has the popular advantage and a far more more extensive ground operation than Clinton. This story is also quickly making its way around the web, so it seems unlikely that any such acts of electoral piracy could be committed without attracting a great deal of attention. Nonetheless, it would seem a good idea for Obama supporters in Texas to show up at caucus sites early, in force, and armed with video cameras in case of any overt intimidation.

Until one candidate has the required number of delegates, the race is not over. Much can happen in a short period of time that might change a person's vote. I'm SHOCKED I tell you SHOCKED, and appalled that the Clinton campaign of all people would mischaracterize and overstate something. To the best of my knowledge, these are people who are beyond reproach, as far as I know, and I have to say, I don't think there would be any basis for it, except in the limited instance where there might be, but I am not aware of anything like that, but of course I am completely out of the loop on these things and leave it to my surrogates to keep me posted, and for the most part, they are completely honest, except for when they are not.

As an Ohio voter I can attest to the difficulties at the polling place but I think it is not intentional. Many voters may want to vote for members of both parties (perhaps you want to vote for a candidate for sheriff that is running as a Republican and you want to vote for a Democrat running for President....bottom line, you can't. You must choose from Democ4rat, Republican or Independant. Independant ballots contain issue votes only.

I am thinking of changing into a Republican. I am beginning to think my IQ is too high to be a Democrat.
Of course, it would be mighty selfish....lets see, my household income is high enough that the tax cuts do not matter, my children do not attend public schools, I have great health insurance. I am old enough that getting pregnant isn't a possibility. Plus if my daughter or granddaughters needed one I can do like most Republicans and take them on a trip to Europe. I lean Democrat because I think we are all in this world together and helping others reach for the American dream is important. But after the last decade I am getting cynical.....maybe we should all just think of ourselves. I keep forgetting that Bush was able to convince 70% of American's that Iraq and September 11th were linked and I shouldn't be surprised that people will believe anything.

I have, for too long, endured the divisiveness that continues to erode our country. For too long, have special interest held sway in our government—this alone is criminal. And for too long have I watched the price of oil cause inflation in the United States (I believe this is a plot to destabilize our country’s economy by greed oil companies who set record profits each quarter, and others. . .) For too long, have I watched our valiant men in uniform, sacrificed (some of which were my friends.) As an American, I am tired of seeing my government (who takes 25-30% of my hard earned wages) unable to agree on almost anything. This has to stop. Now, I am sure Hillary Clinton would like to bring our broken country back together, but I fear she simply has too much fight in her personality to be anything other than divisive in her politics as we saw in the last debate, and we continue to see in her negative political attacks. Furthermore, I remember the good and the bad times of the previous Clintons, and no matter how many “super delegates are in their pocket,” I do not wish to revisit those times. I have, for too long endured political speeches that promised only more back- biting once the election was won. However, as I am often reminded, we are all in this together. After all, we are all Americans. Republicans see things one way, Democrats see it another, Independents like myself are wishing for the two opposing sides to come together because WE ARE REALLY ALL ON THE SAME SIDE!—The American Side. Now I do not want socialism, or anything similar to it. What I do want is for my government to work and not be dysfunctional. For too long, have we “The People” paid for a government bought by special interest, and for far too long have we sent money to other countries while some Americans are poor, homeless, and helpless. For too long, has our governments turned their backs on public education, health care, and the working man/woman. For far too long have I read about our fallen heroes, our soldiers who will never return--home.
As an American, I deserve better from our politicians.

Now, I do not know Obama personally; however, he is the only person who actually has plans of “substance” ready to address these problems. I say give the man a chance because he seems like our best “hope” for the future. Time will tell.

My girlfriend votes in a precinct in the Westwood district on the west side of Cincinnati. It's a mostly Republican area of older homes occupied mainly by aging working class people, but with some younger families moving into the area along with some African-Americans and college students. She voted about 10:30 this morning. At her precinct there were no long lines, NO ONE with signs or literature for Obama, and only one older woman handing out flyers for Clinton. I don't know what to make of this, or whether it has any broader implications.

I am guessing that this is part of the strategy for Hillary's camp, should it show that Obama is winning in Ohio where it was deemed that she is unbeatable! Now we have this mess with no candidate chosen before the convention. There, Hillary will likely pitch a hissy fit and demand to be crowned. What's terrible about this..is the fact that nothing will unite republicans like wanting to defeat Hillary. With Hillary on the ballot, McCain will be a shoo in. The above guys have got to know that! I have, for too long, endured the divisiveness that continues to erode our country. For too long, have special interest held sway in our government—this alone is criminal. For too long, have I watched our valiant men in uniform, sacrificed (some of which were my friends.) As an American, I am tired of seeing my government (who takes 25-30% of my hard earned wages) unable to agree on almost anything. This has to stop. Now, I am sure Hillary Clinton would like to bring our broken country back together, but I fear she simply has too much fight in her personality to be anything other than divisive in her politics as we saw in the last debate, and we continue to see in her negative political attacks. Furthermore, I remember the good and the bad times of the previous Clintons, and no matter how many “super delegates are in their pocket,” I do not wish to revisit those times. I have, for too long endured political speeches that promised only more back- biting once the election was won. However, as I am often reminded, we are all in this together. After all, we are all Americans. Republicans see things one way, Democrats see it another, Independents like myself are wishing for the two opposing sides to come together because WE ARE REALLY ALL ON THE SAME SIDE!—The American Side. Now I do not want socialism, or anything similar to it. What I do want is for my government to work and not be dysfunctional. For too long, have we “The People” paid for a government bought by special interest, and for far too long have we sent money to other countries while some Americans are poor, homeless, and helpless. For too long, has our governments turned their backs on public education, health care, and the working man/woman. For far too long have I read about our fallen heroes, our soldiers who will never return--home.
As an American, I deserve better from our politicians.

Now, I do not know Obama personally; however, he is the only person who actually has plans of “substance” ready to address these problems. I say give the man a chance because he seems like our best “hope” for the future. Time will tell.

The man is a populist “surfer”, like Huey Long and other demagogues, trying to ride America’s current longing for redemption and restoration of former greatness into the White House. Has he ever CREATED change? Not on your life! (and your life will depend on his ability to do so if you elect him President).
Even now, he is trying to lower expectations with comments like “Change is hard, YOU have to be “ready” for change” (In other words, if change doesn’t come- don’t blame me- blame yourself)

You remember the old Psychiatrist joke:”How many Psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?” Answer: “One, but the lightbulb really has to want to change!
That, in a nutshell- is Obamas “leadership”–stir up and misguide the masses with rhetoric, get them to “demand ” change from the legislature , hope change happens for the better and, if it doesn’t, blame them!.
As John Quincy Adans once said : “If your ACTIONS inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, THEN you are a leader.”

That quote applies to Hillary Clinton who has devoted her life to helping others-not an arrogant carefully-controlled pretender -to -the -throne (who has spent over 18 years being carefully groomed (and mentored) by the pastor of an anti-white church who reveres Farrakhan) and thinks that a speech made at an anti-war rally qualifies him for the white house.

This is our "savior"? this is our “unifier? Obama, of course has said that he does not 'agree with everything " his pastor says-but how can anyone be a unifier if he willingly continues membership in a church with such divisive beliefs??

For all the Obama supporters, whether you like it or not, the Democratic Party requires the nominee of the party to get 2024 (since the death of Rep. Tom Lantos) delegates or more. It doesn’t matter how many states a particular candidate has won prior to reaching the 2024 number, or by what percent, or how many states a particular candidate has won in a row.

2024 is the REQUIRED number to secure the Democratic nomination, not 2023 or 1194 (the number of Pledged delegates Obama currently has according to MSNBC). I’m not counting the Unpledged (Super) delegates since they ARE NOT AWARDED UNTIL THE CONVENTION IN AUGUST.

So far, Obama has 1194 Pledged delegates which means he still needs 830 delegates to secure the nomination.

While Senator Clinton still needs 987 delegates to secure the nomination (157 more than Obama), Obama still needs 830. Even if Obama was awarded every delegate from Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island (370)(which is not going to happen, he would still need 460 delegates to secure the nomination.

Even if Obama received 100% of the delegates moving forward, it would still take him until May 20th with Kentucky to have the 2024 or more delegates required to secure the nomination. Obama is not going to get 100% of the delegates moving forward.

Even if Obama received 70% of all the remaining delegates in the Primaries and Caucuses, he STILL WOULN’T HAVE THE 2024 DELEGATES REQUIRED TO SECURE THE NOMINATION prior to the convention.

While Hillary Clinton does currently have fewer delegates (157) than Barack Obama, and despite what the Obama supporters think, would like to think, or claim, she is not so far behind that it is mathematically impossible for her to catch up or even get ahead as so many of the Obama supporters keep insisting just because they don’t like Hillary Clinton.

To date, there has not been one person, not one, who has said that it is mathematically impossible at this point for Hillary Clinton to win the nomination, because it is not mathematically impossible.

Sure there are quite a few people like the Obama supporters that suggest that Hillary Clinton should get out of the race for the good of the Party. The problem with people who have suggested that Hillary Clinton should get out of the race is that they don’t speak for everyone in the Democratic Party or the ENTIRE country. They speak for themselves even though they claim that they’re speaking for other people besides themselves using words and phrases like, “everyone I know,” “everyone in the Party,” “everyone in the country,” “all of my friends and family,” and so on.

There are 17 contest left including Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island which is 33% of the total Primaries and Caucuses remaining in this process. One third of all the states in this country, 1/3, have not had a chance to vote or have THEIR VOICES HEARD and Obama supporters want to talk about what’s fair. EVERYONE in this country should have the right to decide who the nominees for President of the United States are going to be, not just half of the country or two thirds of the country.

Everyone should have the right to decide. The Primaries and Caucuses don’t end on March 4th or March 31st or April 15th. The People in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, Puerto Rico, and Guam have not yet voted and they should have just as much of a right to vote and have a say in who the nominee is going to be, as the people who have already voted and so selfishly think that now that their voices have been heard, the other people in this country don’t or shouldn’t matter.

Obama and his supporters keep preaching about change. If the kind of change that Obama and his supporters want to see in this country involves some voices in this country being heard (more like the voices that support their position), but not ALL the voices being heard, that’s VERY, VERY SAD!

If you don’t like Hillary Clinton, that’s your right. If you want to whine and cry about how Obama should be handed the Democratic nomination on a silver platter and not have to WORK for it or EARN EVERY VOTE, that is also your right.

NO ONE, I SAY AGAIN, NO ONE, has the right to prevent registered voters of this country from having the ability to vote and have their voices heard.

Even if you believe that Barack Obama is the most qualified person to be the next President of the United States, he has to EARN the required number of delegates to secure the nomination (which he has not done) and he has to get the required number of Electors to win the Presidency.

Having the Democratic nomination and the Presidency handed to anyone on a silver platter just because their supporters want it that way, is not how the process works in our country, maybe in Communist China or some other dictatorship, but not in the United States of America.

i don't trust the clintons and as a young women i am her target voter...not so much. i barack obama is not perfect, no candidate is and he admits his faults openly. i have yet to hear hillary address her incredible expenditures and budget issues, i have yet to see her address dirty tactics she and her campaign committees have called out in emails not only about obama but mccain.

my problem with politics is if you have to fight dirty you aren't strong enough to win and lord help you if dirt is uncovered about you because you're clearly hiding it.

You know folks, I'm an Obama supporter. You people should take the time to read some of the speeches and interviews by and about each of these great democratic politicians. The differences are very clear. First Senator Obama has never run a negative campaign. He is trying to stick to the issues. I have never heard a candidate for public office explain what their plan is for any of the poblems they are promising to address in the campaign. If you are paying attention, you will notice that all of them stop short of explaining how they will accomplish keeping those jobs in the country or fixing the mortgage disaster, or protecting our children while they sleep. Even if Hillary does answer that phone at 3AM, do any of us have any idea how she would respond? We have only our own speculation, which is exactly how candidates for public office want it. None of them really tells us anything. I will take my chances with Mr. Obama. He is brave enough to think creatively and kindly.I would rather vote for a person who has a brief experience of making wise choices than a person who has years of experience making bad choices or taking credit for being in the same space where other people were making decent choices. Some of these comments are so STUPID. Quit blaming Hillary. Do you not realize that the candidates supporters on both sides are doing things on their own accord. It isn't like Hillary or Barack are going around to all these primaries and and changing signs, information, times, giving out the wrong cards. Get real, it is the election judges and volunteers that are creating the chaos.

The Political machine that was designed in the U.S. is indeed well oiled and trudging on. It is a machine that is dated and one that the old guard refuse to update let alone admit that it isn't broken.

Superdelegates, do away with them, one vote one person; let the majority decide not the few. A number of delegates are the surrogates of special interest groups that have a strangle hold on political process here in the country deemed the champion of democracy, a laugh, a joke even nowadays, when viewed by the audience of the world.

No child likes to have attention diverted away from themselves and yielded to another. The results are complaints, fits and introduction of confusion. I have to admit and side with Mr. Obama as he so eloquently stated, and I paraprase, "that the media has fallen for the spin and tactics that Ms. Clinton and her advisors fed to them." The media should realize that the masses of people will soon realize that their (the media) does not have the gull to stand up and hold on to what integrity that they may still have.

As I study U.S. history, and the demographics and ethnicity of of certain states I find it not surprising that Mr Obama has not won Nevada, Massachusetts, questionable about Ohio and Texas. According to history and certain demographics these states are more partial to whites as opposed to blacks. Latinos of particularly South American decent are quick to align themselves with whites in many given situations or circumstances. They are our new pets, we have forgot about the Asians and Indians, their number simply are not large enough for us to push our agenda through. Yes in short Obama, just as Senorita Cajillo (comunity activist) of Texas stated "he has a problem, his problem is that he is black" this is indeed a sentiment shared among many of the white and hispanic voters in Mass, NV, OH and TX.
I am not sure if Mr Obama is the best candidate but if it were to be determined by media and its questionable ability to stand by it integrity and conveying the true person to the voters of Mass, NV, OH and TX and their counternance we would never find out if he could indeed deliver on his promise of change.

I am not surprise one bit of the Clinton's camp constant accusation on Obama's camp. As of this moment, Obama has won Vermont and Texas, so please quit your whining, drop out and throw your fake support to Obama. I don't understand why the media keeps saying the Clintons' don't give up. It goes to show you how much THIRST they have for power. And speaking about her claiming to have experience or knowing foreing policy. Staying in the white house for 8 yrs doesn't mean you have experience because the doors were closed to you when Bill was meeting with is generals. Going to Beijin and having talks about women's right was something you had to do as a first lady, so don't rub it in. Now what? Hillary's camp claim was that Obama hasn't won any big states. FYI: Georgia, Missouri, Illinois, and now Texas are big states just to mention a few. Her camp has been trying to act like the 11 whoopings in the role by Barack doesn't mean anything because they are small states. I was watching the live CNN.com feed earlier and actually heard a weatherman tell voters, while polls were still open in certain areas of Ohio, that they should stay home because the weather was too dangerous. This happened an hour and a half ago but I am still amazed.

I live in Colorado and was born and raised in Ohio. You go Hillary!!! We need a womens point of view in our issues in society today. Women are achievers and do not put off what can be done today. I feel she will achieve the goals that she is promising, and that these issues will be done today and will not stop until it is. Hillary seems to be a genuine person and I think women truly seem to care and worry about problems and how to be great problem solvers. I vote for Hillary because I feel she is going to be a wonderful asset and problem solver in our society today.

Lets consider that Obama is not a tested veteran of any stand except to say I did not vote for that. And so many times choosing not to do anything for fear of doing something wrong, unfortunetly a president must make a decision be it popular or not but what is best for the country and will not always make the most popular decision but one that is based on the facts gathered and brought before them, without being based upon indecision. I believe Hillary has shown her colors and ability to do this. She has now won Ohio and is in the game the truth of the contender will come forth and truth and justice will prevail all else.
