I have to say, the Republicans made a smart choice selecting McCain - IF Billary will be the nominee.

Although/because he is not liked by the Neo-cons it will be so much easier to vote for him in order to vote against Billary. Smart ...plus he has plenty of time building up his defences.

Of all the candidates we had in the Democratic field - Billary is the only one I would never vote for. She is the only candidate that would get me to vote for the Republicans for the first time in my life.

Ok, here it goes. Here we have Two Democrats, Hillary and Obama, competing against each other. Since the “Democrats” are voting for “Democratic Presidential Nominees” is it just possible, even plausible, and down right probable, that the “Democrats” will vote for a “DEMOCRAT” during the general election! I find the line of attack that speaking to our enemies is somehow naive extremely odd.

The mention of former President Richard Nixon raises many thoughts in people's minds, but one that is often overlooked because of the gigantic cloud of Watergate is the fact that President Nixon met with Mao Tse Tung without PRECONDITIONS. Now, anyone who thinks Mao was a wonderful character please step forward. In fact, Mao was one of the most brutal, horrific tyrants ever to stand on the world stage.

How about former President Ronald Reagan meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev without preconditions? Doesn't compare with Mao in hideousness, but still food for thought. President Reagan also believed in the nuclear non-proliferation treaty including the gradual reduction of nuclear missiles until there would be none (even in the U.S.). Many people called President Reagan naive both for these talks and for his belief that the eventual goal should be no nuclear missiles anywhere in the world. Guess what? President Reagan's supposed naivete helped bring about an end to the Cold War.

And look at Cuba where we refused to talk to Mr. Castro (awful as he is) for 50 years. This policy truly benefitted everyone didn't it? Actually, it was a miserable failure of a policy. The Cuban people are still stuck in the deep freeze of the Cold War even though that war is long since concluded.

Next time someone wants to cry naive, remember the history. Talking works. It isn't perfect, but when you make perfection the enemy of the good, you get nothing. Food for thought.

Apparently, a Ian Brodie (who is Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Harper's chief of staff), told reporters that Senator Clinton's campaign said not to take her words on NAFTA seriously, but for some odd reason, the press ran the story about Senator Obama's campaign. See below for the story:

"Since 75 per cent of Canadian exports go to the U.S., Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton's musings about reopening the North American free-trade pact had caused some concern.

I want to start out by saying I'm republican for the most part, but do not, and did not like George Bush. I have been watching, reading and listening to everything about this election like most of you. I for the life of me can't understand how "Billary" is even allowed to run for the highest office in the country! The words Clinton and Scandal, are pretty much the same! Now if Hillary had divorced Bill ten years ago, maybe I could believe half of what she says! The whole Obama "movement" escapes me also. I am a lifelong resident of Il. And am old enough to know that you don't get anywhere in politics in Chicago without owing someone, something! The Daily machine still holds the power. The freshman senator is if nothing else a great speaker, mostly if scripted. The biased media is now finally taking a closer look at Obama, and more will be revealed about him in the coming months. The thing that really gets me is his church. Out of all the churches in Chicago, why did he choose an all black church that endorses Farrakhan, denounces whites and Jews alike? If the white candidates had an affiliation with the Aryan brotherhood for example, don't you think they would be vilified in the press to say the least? Obama calls himself a "unifier", but to me, actions speak louder than words! The fact he doesn't acknowledge the flag of our country gives me pause for concern, as it should you all also. It makes me wonder what his agenda really is! The fact he is still in his first term and already making a bid for the White House without accomplishing much in the Senate is also a concern. A "present" vote is basically a safe move politically if nothing else. Our great country is in dire straights, and two Tax and Spend LIBERAL Democrats will only serve to bring our country down even more! People, make no mistake, John McCain is NOT George Bush! trying to give every benifit of doubt I have watched all the NY newscasters and cable news spots.No where did I hear a hint of a person with mental issues a suspect. As a Canadian-born politically independent US citizen (former award winning investigative print and broadcast journalist), I came across the following article pursuant to the impact and follow up investigation in the Canadian Parliament. (where I worked years ago, after law school as Special Assistant to the then Leader of the Opposition)...If what is reported herein (see below) is accurate, it might seem that "NAFTAGATE may have been effectively if falsely positioned by the Clinton campaign for the media as an OBAMA- only issue (i.e the best defense is a ruthless if deceptive offense). Perhaps it deserves investigative follow-up as there are specific names including the top aide to Prime Minister Harper, credible news agencies etc.:

Thus a ''rightwinged''connection is used as a tossaway phrase and will eventually be dismissed[given what we already know of the open hostility of the left to the military].

Then too,we see what occurs when the weary civilian,sick and tired of what they see as inaction on the portion of governments,make common cause with the forces of chaos and take matters into their own hands. Arson in Seattle. A bomb in Times Square,or a private Sredot Jew along the Gazan border who creates with his own hands and mind,a rocket packed with explosives capable of a 200 km range,now aimed at Gaza.
McCain can see the inevitability of such chaotic forces and the only way to deal with these. Democrats,particularly Obama,look to international bodies in order to stave off such forces,forgetting that such bodies are themselves splintered into chaotic factions of their own promising not progress,but inertia. The idea that fault of the very existance of these forces can be laid at the feet of American political parties serving in their turn is ridiculous. Wahhabism was not an invention of Republicans. The rise of Iranian hardlined mullahs[who now reach for the ultimate weapon], was not the fault of Democrats. Fault will lay in the lack of response by the West and the larger international community in combating these forces. In the face of another serious attack,in any place where perhaps thousands of innocents die,nations will not reach for Gandhis or Kings.[who themselves were cut down by forces of chaos]. They will reach for a LeMay or a Patton.
