Spitzer is someone that has done, and will do, a lot of good in the world, he needs to stay in office. His private life issues are just, private. Good liberal Democrats like Eliot Spitzer are difficult to find. The man is a national treasure, not a criminal.

Whats new? Hillary is a woman and fair game for all.Obama lied to make race an issue in beginning to consolidate and built his whole campaign on S. Carolina when he did it. Obama is the raceist and yes Blacks are raceist too. I never would have believed it in todays world but he has proven it.People will see it before Nov.by than it will be too late. Women are upset cause Hillary did things right and is being punished.Being a woman its fair game to dump on her. Well I think all women should gather round her now like Obama had the blacks do. Spitzer made a lot of enemies with the work he did. I think this is more to do with that than anything else.Hillary will catch fall out because he was a super delegate so she will lose one. Obama of course and his minions will smear her face in it. I think all these peoiple that smear her so he can keep his hands clean should be thrown off these sights. To Claire Brunner, do you not understand what the word "criminal" means? It means someone who has broken the law, which Governor Spitzer has alledgedly done. Whether you agree with the law or not, having broken it, he is by definition, a criminal. To make matters worse, he has broken the same laws that he, himself, has prosecuted others for breaking. He should be held to the same standard to which he holds others, don't you think?

It is unbelievable that his wife is urging hime to stay on. She should have Pulled Lorena Bobbit by now if she had any sense at all. This jerk is suipposed to be the top law enforcement official for the state and he is involved in an iollegal activity. he shold be 1. impeached 2. prosecuted 3.disbarred.
If this lowlife escapes prosecution and Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds,et al do jail time then you know that this country has finally fallen ovwer the proverbial cliff.

This is another case where liberals like the poster named Claire Brunner, think it is just about sex. The problem is not the sex but the breaking the law, violating public trust, being the target of potential blackmail, interfering in federal rackateering cases, and finally the lies to cover it all up.

Perhaps, the liberal threshold for virtue is so low that anyone no matter their character will due. But, I think America deserves better than that.

On a side note, Ms. Brunner should realize that damage that this scandal caused Mr. Spitzer's wife and family. You would think a woman would be more sensative than that. But as she states, a liberal Democrat trumps all including crime.

Who cares if he had sex outside of marriage? I'll just go out on a limb here and guess.....his wife? If it were merely an affair, that'd be one thing; immoral, but not illegal. At the moment, prostitution IS illegal.

So because Spitzer is the governor, he shouldn't face the same consequences any other citizen would get? And it wasn't even one time; he's been at it for 10 years.

Spitzer is trying to do what he would never grant any who got into his cross hairs - a deal with the prosecutor. I like these people who say this is no big deal. Had this been a high profile Republican caught in a similar situation, the call for a summary execution would be made. Spitzer is accused of breaking the Mann Act, a relic of a law that should be abolished, but it is still the law. Also, leaders are successful when they have proven to be honest and moral in their dealings in office and in their private lives. How can Spitzer provide leadership after 1) flaunting the law and 2) spending a forturne on hookers while many of his constituents have trouble heating their homes and feeding their families and 3) what creep puts his family through the embarrasement of this sordid affair. Leno and others are having a field day with this. As far as I am concerned, he can stay if he can arrange it. That way he can be a living, breathing example of the arrogance of the Democrat Party. I'm sure Hillary is going to love his Super Delegate vote, if he lasts long enough to cast it.
